One of the lads, this young chapbarely outside of 18,
tries to wedge himself between us,
and suddenly George turns and bites down
right on this kid'sneck and just rips it away.
Blood sprays all over my face.
I can't see a thing.

And now George's grip is like a vise.
Everyone's screaming and shouting.
I hear the other ratingpull out his pistol.
Chaplain’s screaming at George,pulling at him as well.
The other lad fires,
the sound nearer and bursts my eardrum.
But George lets go and hits the floor.

Everything is silent for a moment.
Save for the ringing in my ear.
So I clear the blood out of my eyes.
And then
George gets back up.
How??The rating fires again.
Twice more in the chest.
Nothing.

George just pisses bloodeverywhere and staggers at me.
And I have no more time.
I pull my gun and he's already on me.
Next thing I know, his head explodes.
Something in me kicked in,
and I rammed the barrel under his jawand I pull the trigger.
Oh my God.

Missed my head pretty badly, to be honest.
I've never seen anything like itin my life.
At least not up to that point.
I remember the chaplainswearing on his soul
to get to the bottom of it,and praising me for my bravery.

Save for the ringing in my ear.
So I clear the blood out of my eyes.

George gets back up.

I pull my gun and he's already on me.
Next thing I know, his head explodes.
Something in me kicked in,
