Dying of Embarrassment

There are people who will not relate to this episode, and those are, simply and broadly speaking, people who are too mentally healthy to spend the precious hours of their limited time on this Earth worrying about a small interaction, a simple mistake, a small piece of sand in the beach of life.

But then there’s me, a person who still physically cringes at the things I have said and done. A person who has fallen down so many stairs in public! A person who, like many people, is cursed with a brain that will forget whatever you just told me but will not — cannot — forget a small and probably inconsequential social interaction from decades ago.

But I do think that there is something purifying about taking these moments out of our brains and airing them out, especially if that airing out happens publicly and on a podcast.
