Carmen Brown-1 (00:00):
Hi everybody.
We're so glad you're here.
I'm actually really excited todive into this topic a little
bit with Mitch, because I thinkwe talk about astrology
sometimes.
We were curious to do a littlebit more of a deep dive and
learn about our birth charts.
We did do some research and wewanna talk about some of the
(00:20):
basics.
And I think a good place tostart as we sip our coffees and
explore this is to think about, where did astrology start?
How do we get to this placewhere we feel really curious
about it?
We use it.
It's like very common nowadays.
It is.
Astrology has been influentialin human lives for.
(00:44):
Decades it roots back to ancientcivilizations like the Egyptians
and the Greeks.
And really it's just theobservation of the sky and the
connection of celestialphenomena with earthly events
and how that ties into us.
Yeah, it's very interesting howastrology has been around for so
(01:04):
long, and if you're a historyguru or you watch the History
Channel, where they talk aboutthe connections across the
world.
And how ancient civilizationsused to use stars and star
charts to determine how theywere gonna grow their crops, how
they were gonna live theirlives, what they could expect,
how to practice and worship, andall the things of their life
(01:25):
were tied around this.
That's super fascinating Folkswho are really into astrology
might do that.
Like the deep, divers.
Deep divers, but as it's usedgenerally not so much.
Today it's really less aboutpredicting.
Your fate or your ability togrow crops, and it's used as a
self-reflection tool or commonlanguage to talk about things
(01:49):
safely around spirituality andbeliefs that might feel a little
woo.
I find that younger generationstend to ask me more.
What my sign is then maybepeople from my generation or
generations before me I thinkpeople from my generation shout
out to Gen Xers'cause we're radand we rock.
(02:12):
We dabbled in it, but we didn'tfully do such a deep dive'cause
it wasn't as mainstream, wekinda were curious but with a
little bit of skepticism.
I feel like I have a bit of askewed understanding of
astrology and its take in mylife.
And I think you might actuallyrelate to this too, we were
(02:35):
exposed to this early on by ourfather who used to take us as
really rad bookstore and theyhad a lot of astrology based
things, crystals, rocks, healingstuff.
It was a very like metaphysicalspiritual bookstore.
Yeah.
And so to be there at such ayoung age and to be exposed to
(02:57):
that, not necessarily sittingdown and getting my astrology
read surrounded by people whoare really open to that kind of
stuff, you would think I wouldbe really into it.
I'm not really that into it, butI'm curious for sure.
And sometimes I read it and I'mlike, that's totally me.
And then other times I read itand I'm like, yeah, they don't
know what they're talking about.
Yeah, I do remember that.
(03:17):
Astrology first came about to mebefore that, like probably
before you were born is sittingwith grandma and mom.
And all the tias watching WalterMecado.
Do his horoscope readings on tv.
That was such a big deal.
He was such a huge personalityand he was so vibrant but also
(03:37):
he preached a lot about how toconnect with spirituality and
how to love yourself and how tojust be yourself.
And so I think it became moreacceptable, but people were so
into it, you'd go to church onSaturday and Sunday and
Wednesday, but you would neverMs.
Walter Mercado at the same time.
(03:58):
Like my grandma sometimes wouldcall and tell me.
What was in the horoscope andthen say, don't go do this
because the horoscope said thisabout X, Y, and Z.
And I was like, okay which isthat like curious skepticism
just in case.
I'm gonna change my plans.
I will put salt outside of thedoor.
Yeah.
(04:18):
Yeah.
Me rotary dialing up my friendsbecause that was way back when.
And we were also poor, so we hadolder things, to say yeah, I
don't think we should go outtoday because my grandma told me
that, told Walter Mercado'shoroscope was not in my favor
today.
So I'm just gonna stay home.
I never experienced that, but Idefinitely would see them like
(04:39):
in Cosmos and I thought, theywere really cool.
Very neat designs.
I think I was more fascinated bythe design pages.
Shout out to Retro Cosmo fromthe nineties.
And at this particular time Iwas younger looking for a sense
of self, trying to figure outwho I was and all that stuff.
It really spoke to me again, sometimes it wasn't always
(05:00):
accurate.
It's interesting to reflect backHow this plays out culturally.
Not only our ethnic culture, buthow pop culture has embraced it
differently.
To use it almost like apersonality quiz to see and
that's how we used it for thiswhen we were looking up our
stuffs, like just feeling reallycurious.
(05:20):
About what the chart says and ifwe agree or disagree.
Based on how we think we seeourselves and and what we know
of ourselves.
It's not as much of a spiritualguidance tool for me.
I, am very much into woowoo andspirituality, but I think I've
always gravitated towards otherthings and not as much toward
deep dive into astrology.
(05:43):
What made you feel curious aboutwanting to read your birth
chart?
I have you read it before?
I've dabbled, but I didn't knowwhat time I was born.
So it was always just a shot inthe dark.
So today I think it was prettyinteresting to see, different
aspects of my personality that Iwouldn't necessarily highlight
as strengths And it is reallyrelevant to the person that I've
(06:04):
evolved into.
So I would say I probably shouldhave read this sooner in life.
It would've made differentchoices.
Oh yeah.
So I think my interest inastrology really is just finding
those reflective points thatkind of help me identify my
values and some of the partsthat I parts of me that I enjoy.
(06:29):
It's almost like a low stakesway to dabble in spirituality
beyond what maybe we know ismore mainstream.
We were raised in a Catholichousehold everyone has different
belief systems that they werebrought up with, but for a long
time, these ideas ofunderstanding personality and
your fate written in the starswould've been considered crazy
(06:52):
talk but I think because we'vehad a different style
upbringing, like we were raisedin a semi Catholic household,
our father was a little bit morefree-spirited, did believe in a
lot of Buddhist beliefs.
And then he would take us tothose kind of places like
Alexandra's Bookstore, becausewe had that open window into
these other parts.
(07:13):
And not just that our culture, right?
I think those kind of thingskept me open.
So I would come back toastrology as oh, I'm just
curious the stars exist.
They're above us.
They're all around us.
We can physically see them.
And from a scientificperspective, I don't know, do I
really believe in astrology?
(07:33):
I'm not sure, but I do believein, magic.
And wonder and I believe in theawe of the universe and I'm not
gonna discount it.
Yeah, absolutely.
There's gotta be stuff about thestars and alignments and things
that are true and real.
Because this is a huge part ofour existence.
(07:55):
I started doing a littleresearch for this episode, and I
found this really cool podcast.
I'm not a, I'm not connected toit, I don't get anything for it,
but it's astrology for beginnersAnd she gives you the breakdown
of how to read your chart andastrology and what it means.
She talked about the big three, and these are probably the most
common ones In previous decades, people would only talk about
(08:18):
their sun sign.
Which is your core identity, this is who you are at your
essence and who you areinternally.
It's how you see yourself we'realso gonna look at the moon
sign, which is your emotions, your inner world, and this is
your heart space.
And then we're also gonna talkabout Rising sign, which is how
(08:39):
others see you.
This is your vibe or the maskyou wear to show the world, like
how you show up in the world, how your friends see you, your
coworkers see you.
What's really interesting is asI, was listening to the podcast,
she was talking about how therising sign is actually one of
the most important because itcan be reflective of how you're
(09:00):
actually showing up in theworld.
And so it's really interestingto look at that and compare to
how you think you're showing upin the world.
All right, so we're gonna reviewAndy's.
Andy's sun is an Aquarius.
I'm an Aquarius cusp, and I didnot look that up.
I should have, but I was born onthe last day of Aquarius, first
(09:21):
day of Pisces.
So if you're born in themorning, you're an Aquarius.
If you're born at night.
You're a Pisces.
And I think that alsocontributes to The chaos that is
me.
Very eclectic.
Yes.
So Aquarius.
Is the sign of the visionary, the innovator, and the rebel
with a cause.
That's right.
Your Sun in Aquarius means atyour core, you are independent
(09:44):
and forward thinking.
Drawn to progressive ideas andequality.
This is true.
I do agree with all that.
You are someone who thrives onauthenticity and originality.
You challenge outdated norms andseek unconventional paths.
You often feel more like part ofa collective mission than
someone focused solely on selfgain.
(10:06):
And there's also a cooldetachment to your vibe.
You like your personal space andaren't one for emotional drama.
All of that I agree with.
All righty.
The cool at detachment that mademe laugh to my vibe.
Yeah.
It's really funny because I'mvery private.
I'm just here for the vibes andif the vibes aren't cool, I'm
(10:27):
leaving.
Because I don't, I actuallydon't wanna be involved in
drama.
And if there's a lot of drama,I'm out.
Yeah.
Audi 5,000, you will not see me.
This is true.
Your identity is deeply tied tocommunity, friendship and your
hopes for a better future.
You are a optimist.
Not so secretly she's anoptimist.
You're likely a connector, agroup leader or someone whose
(10:50):
mission is to help others awakentheir uniqueness.
Absolutely.
'cause you're a mentor, youactually lead groups of people
and you teach them aboutthemselves how to strengthen
already existing characteristicsand so that's really cool.
Yeah.
And I, feel naturally drawn tothat.
I think it just flows for me.
(11:11):
I didn't see myself like thatfor many years.
People would see me that way ormention it to me and they'd be
like, yeah, no, that's not mydeal.
But that was just me being indenial about life.
Once I started leading andcoaching and doing more things,
it felt very natural.
Yeah, I can see that.
So it makes sense.
So 100% sun in Aquarius?
(11:33):
Yes, ma'am.
Yes.
Check plus.
All right, so we're moving on amoon in Scorpio now, this was
super surprising.
I don't have any qualms withScorpio.
I know a lot of people do.
I personally don't.
I think Scorpios are wonderful.
One of my greatest friends is aScorpio, and he is wonderful.
So the moon in Scorpio ispowerful, intense, and
emotionally deep.
(11:55):
You feel things profoundly, evenif you don't always show it.
Yep.
Yeah, that's true.
She does not show it.
I don't show it.
Yeah, I've actually been toldthat my heart is cold as ice.
No, and it's not'cause it is,but it's just because I don't
outwardly express emotions andvulnerability.
(12:17):
As easily as many would.
Yes.
I would say it's not that youdon't at all, but you are very
guarded with that, and I'mcareful where I do that.
Yeah, Also, trauma andprofessionalism, and when you
mix those two together, bing, bang, boom, your emotional world
is passionate, loyal andprotective, even intuitive and
(12:37):
psychic at times.
Yes.
100% check mark with anexclamation point, prone to
transformation, rebirth, andemotional intensity.
I don't see the emotionalintensity part.
I can see the transformation andrebirth element in the way that
you lead others and you like toinspire others to connect with
(13:02):
their most, authentic selves.
So I would say, yeah, in a wayyou're not one for surface level
relationships, friendships,conversations.
No coffee.
It's true.
I'm like literally terrible atsmall talk.
Yeah.
I have had to learn and listen,it's taken years to learn Like
even my partner laughs at mebecause he's so good at.
(13:24):
If you're not gonna tell me somedeep, dark secret, I like don't
wanna talk to you.
While you think you're bad atit.
I actually think you're reallygood at it.
I just think you have athreshold limit.
So I think you're really good atit.
But if they go past a certainpoint where you're realizing
that they are not there as theirauthentic, truest version of
(13:44):
themselves, or they are just notbeing genuine.
I think your, threshold is like10 minute tops.
Thank you.
But I'm pretty sure it's justpractice.
And honestly, I learned a lot ofthat from my partner.
Yeah.
So two decades over two and ahalf decades.
Of watching him move so easilyin the world with people.
(14:06):
Made it easier for me to do itover time.
But I have learned so I can.
Make my way through interactionsand have moments of small talk,
I, dunno if you notice, but Itry to make it more meaningful.
Yeah.
Yeah.
When I ask people questions I,do ask them personal things and
they don't even know me.
And I think that's why you makethem pretty comfortable.
(14:28):
'cause when you're asking withintention.
So it's not just like a, Hey,how's your day going?
You'll ask them like, Hey, Ireally that sweater and that
color blue is.
Is there any particular meaningbehind the reason why you and
you're like, can we get outtahere please?
Why are you lingering?
I'm like, don't make eye contactwith them.
And I'm like, I love your purse.
It's so cool.
Where'd you get it from?
How long have you lived here?
(14:48):
Whenever we visit places I'llalways ask people if they're
local because it will spark upconversation that feels deeper
to me than like the superficialsmall talk.
So, when you do small talk, youdo it with intention.
Do you think your moon signreflects your emotional
patterns?
In Scorpio?
Yes.
Okay.
But I was surprised because Iwould not have guessed it.
(15:09):
I would've guessed probably moreof a Pisces.
I am very emotional, even thoughI'm not outwardly emotional.
I'm like on an emotionalrollercoaster all the time and I
have a lot of big feelings, butwhen I read Scorpio, I was like,
oh, that actually makes moresense because I am very
protective.
Remember I said I'm veryprivate, I'm very protective of
myself.
(15:29):
People I love and care about, like I become real fierce mama
bear, which makes sense becauseI'm a scorpion.
I'm gonna sting you, right?
But also I am cautious when Ilet other people in, and I don't
like to live on the surfacelevel with people.
it made more sense to me than Ithought it would, but I was
surprised.
(15:50):
I agree with you.
I was surprised at first, butthen I was like no, because
again, one of the better peoplethat I know that is a Scorpio,
is, wonderful.
So when I read, oh, Scorpioreally?
And then I thought, oh no.
Yeah, that kind of makes perfectsense.
Yeah, it's also in my sixthhouse, which means like my
emotional wellbeing is tied tomy sense of purpose and work.
(16:12):
So my work has to be meaningfuland I have to feel like I'm
helping others.
Okay.
And that made sense to me too.
I was like, oh yeah, Because ifI don't have a connection to a
purpose and there's not meaningin what I'm doing, it's very
difficult for me to stay in it.
Let's go down to AscendantRising in Taurus.
Now, this one did surprise me.
(16:32):
This is my outer persona, right?
Yeah.
So this is how she shows up inthe world, her vibe.
And I am a Taurus, so I waslike, what?
She's a Taurus sun, but I'm aTaurus sun.
So Taurus Rising gives you agrounded, calm and steady
presence.
First impressions.
You are reliable, warm, andcomforting.
Naturally stylish, with anappreciation for quality and
(16:55):
beauty.
Actually, this is very true, emotionally soothing to be
around and people feel safe inyour energy.
Yeah I do think that's true, notbecause I'm tooting my own horn.
I like, oh my God, I'm so cool.
People feel so safe around me.
But the reason I know peoplefeel safe in my energy is'cause
people will tell me literallyeverything.
You know how I like to knowdeep, dark secrets?
(17:15):
'cause I wanna connect.
They will tell me their deep, dark secrets.
I know.
And sometimes I'm shocked atwhat comes out of people's
mouths.
And I'm like, whoa, why did youjust tell me that?
But I think it's because I cancreate that space.
And I use that in a lot ofdifferent ways.
But I do think that there issomething to the magic of being
like a space holder.
You don't like to be rushed.
Nope.
(17:35):
This is also true.
You enjoy the pleasures of life, good food, beauty, nature, and
sensuality.
And you also have a strongvalue.
You don't sway easily from yourbeliefs or your instincts.
You have a magnetic presence andyou have a quiet strength that
command respect without sayingmuch, which is very true.
Shout out to Taurus.
That is true.
With your wonderful.
(17:56):
Aquarius Scorpio Tauruscombination plate.
You're a soulful change makerwho leads with integrity and
calm determination.
People may see your soothing, grounded presence.
Taurus, fill your emotionalintensity and insight Scorpio,
and eventually realize you're arevolutionary at heart.
(18:17):
Aquarius.
Here to leave a meaningfulimpact.
Yeah, I agree with all of that.
You know what I like about thisthough is that this breakdown
helps to give a betterunderstanding of the intricacies
of people's complicatedpersonality traits.
Yeah.
Honestly, it's pretty spot on.
Yeah, it's a little weird.
(18:37):
Yeah, it's a little weird.
I, was looking for, okay what'swrong?
What don't I agree with?
And so I had a, hard time.
I didn't really find anythingthat didn't resonate in some
way.
With how I see myself or how Ican see myself showing up in the
world and how I carry myfeelings and things like that.
(18:57):
Okay.
So Mitch, it's your turn.
It's my turn.
Let's talk all about you.
Yay.
Okay, so wait.
My palm is itchy.
That means I'm gonna get moneysoon.
Okay, go ahead.
There you go.
Don't scratch it though if youscratch it, then the money goes
away.
All right.
We learned a lot about me.
So now let's learn a little bitabout you.
And dive into your.
(19:18):
Birth chart top three.
So your sun is in Taurus?
Yep.
Your moon is in Pisces and yourascendant rising is in cancer.
Yes.
Which like, I think that was thebiggest shocker.
So we'll get to that.
So Sun and Taurus, we've alwaysknown you've been a Taurus, and
that's how we would talk aboutyour astrology for the longest
(19:38):
time, right?
Sun and Taurus, again, coreidentity, how you see yourself.
A Taurus gives you steady, grounded, and sensual nature.
Nature.
You're likely someone whothrives on stability, comfort
and beauty.
Think cozy homes, good food, music, and art, which is true.
You're more of a steady andstrong type than a sprinter.
(19:58):
Loyalty and dependability arepart of your core and you likely
value material and emotionalsecurity.
All true?
Yes.
But lemme just make a note aboutthe sprinter part.
Okay.
My 23 and me said that I had thebuild of an athletic runner.
Yes, but your stars say youdon't.
(20:18):
Yeah.
It was like dormant trait.
Boom.
Now we know why I'll never be arunner.
Yeah.
I have always seen you in thisway.
Taurus, like strong-willed,practical.
Charming.
Like you're not super extrovertand outgoing in that way.
Pretty goofy with the people Iknow.
You're always looking forcomfort.
That's always true.
And stability.
(20:39):
I literally am wrapped up in ablanket like a burrito right
now.
And you're one of the moststubborn people I know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's one of my best traits, honestly.
Your moon, which is youremotions, your inner world is in
Pisces.
Which is interesting, both ofthem shock me, moon and
ascended.
Yeah, very.
(20:59):
Both emotional signs, both watersigns, which explains a lot.
Actually, I think I read it andI was like, oh because this is a
person who.
Will text me at 10:00 PM saying, you have to watch this movie on
Netflix, because I just criedand it's so good.
Wow.
And I'm like, really true?
Yeah.
I'm not trying to be sad rightnow.
(21:20):
You're like no, just watch it.
Or I'm leaving a theater like.
I used to go to movies a lotwith my friends, and we would go
to theaters with theater hop,and then I'd be like, oh my God,
this movie literally wrecked me.
Yeah.
And she'd be like, what the, whyare you sending me this.
Yeah.
And the Aquarius and Scorpiowith me is, no, thank you.
I'm, we have too many emotions.
(21:41):
We're not trying to collect anyadditional It's like that show
on Netflix that you told me towatch.
From scratch with Zoe Salana, and that one was a deep cut.
Honestly, I cried so hard and Iwas concerned for you.
I was like, I cannot, I'mwrecked.
And there was one of theepisodes in particular that was
(22:02):
like, the hardest thing towatch.
Really true.
And then I thought.
Why is she watching this?
And I'm telling you aslisteners, like she watches
these movies all the time.
She looks for the saddest.
The sadder, the better well.
Yes.
And now it makes sense If we re,if we refer to the stars.
The stars knew all along.
(22:23):
You are a water sign, so youjust live in this tumultuous
ocean of emotion.
And you're deeply sensitive andalso intuitive.
You're probably a sponge foremotions.
Which can help you be morecompassionate, empathetic, and
dreamy.
But this also as your moon signgives you the heart of a healer,
(22:45):
an artist, or spiritual soul.
I definitely see the artist partin you.
I think that's how you channel alot of your feelings and
emotions.
You need time alone to rechargeand can be emotionally affected
by other suffering.
Yes.
Also, let me just say if I'm ina room with somebody for too
long and they're telling mestories'cause I tend to be the
person that sometimes can besitting in that healer space
(23:07):
where you're trying to behelpful to others that are going
through different things inlife.
And I love being that person, but sometimes I have to
emotionally recharge.
So I will literally lock myselfaway.
I'll watch a nice little Sandy bmovie, Sandra Bullock, for those
of you who are not over the ageof 20.
And I'll eat some Chinese foodI'll be ready to go.
Which Chinese food is hercomfort food?
(23:29):
Or Thai food.
Yeah, Thai food.
Yeah, so all those things, Ithink this is pretty accurate
actually.
Like your inner world, youremotions Live in the house of
Pisces.
You're very sensitive.
You just absorb it all so muchso that you like seek it out.
But I find beauty in deepemotion.
And so I think sometimes when Iwatch those movies, even though
(23:51):
they're incredibly sad to a lotof people, to me there's a lot
of meaning and value in thoseexperiences that are depicted on
screen, same thing for music.
I think it's interesting too,'cause in this one one of the
things that your report said wasthat, with the moon in Pisces
that you can struggle withboundaries or escapism if
overwhelmed.
(24:12):
Which makes sense because Ithink when you're stressed out,
whether it's work or just thingsin life are happening you do
escape to these movies, butthey're emotional movies because
you can relate to them'causeyou're very emotional.
Yeah.
And I think what I pull from themovies is a sense of hopefulness
mo more often than not out ofthe actual storyline and the
(24:32):
storytelling behind thecharacter development.
Yeah, and then as if that wasn'tenough to have one water sign.
You have two.
So your ascendant rising is incancer?
Yes.
And this is the personality orthe persona that you outwardly
display.
And also lends to your approachto life, which was a surprise to
(24:55):
both of us but it did makesense.
I think we were, if we were toask people they would probably
say these things about you.
They would probably say thatthey see you as sensitive,
sweet, homebody, protective ofyourself and your loved ones.
Yeah.
I could see that You can comeacross gentle and caring and
(25:16):
they see you as strong, likewith inner resilience.
I think people would describeyou that way.
Because remember this is yourexternal, so like us as your
family probably see this partand your Taurus more.
But you're not showing a lot ofthat to people externally
outside of your inner circle.
Yeah, I guess so.
I think too, I've grown a lot inthe last couple years,
(25:39):
particularly more so than otherseasons of my life.
There's been a lot oftransition, a lot of change, so
I think I could see it now.
If you were to ask me 10 yearsago, I'd be like, no, way, I
know I was protective, but Ididn't always see myself as
gentle or caring.
I didn't actually associatestrength with those words for
many years.
But I do think that's what youproject out there.
(25:59):
Yeah.
I do think now looking at it inretrospect, that is why people
tend to love me.
Ah yes.
I too am extraordinarily humble.
I will also say is that it'sinteresting to me, I never saw
myself as a nurturer, I neversaw myself as approachable your
(26:20):
dog and animals.
Yeah.
I always tell everybody my dogsaved my life and my
personality.
Which in your rising in canceris part of that personality is
you come off shy or reservedinitially.
Yeah.
Especially if you're, not in afamiliar setting, but once you
start to feel safe andcomfortable, then you shine
(26:42):
through.
So blending your big three itsays you're a beautiful mix of
earthy strength, emotionaldepth, and nurturing presence.
Think a grounded soul who feelsdeeply and protects fiercely,
you're like a velvet glove overa steel hand that is soft
comfort and warm on the outsidepoint, and a quiet strength that
can hold a lot.
(27:03):
I do have a quiet strength thatcan hold a lot, you know what's
interesting too is that we'regonna talk about this in a
little bit, the shadow side ofthings.
I was tapping more into myshadow side as like a rejection
of those things because I didn'tsee being sensitive or being
nurturing or approachable aslike a valuable trait to have.
Yeah.
Which by all means, I don't meanthat I was like the worst person
(27:25):
ever, but I did come off, I wasmore like stoic and I thought
stoic and strong was the way togo.
And a lot of times.
I don't even think I understoodwhat the definition of stoicism
actually was.
I just conflated it with beingreally stiff and rigid.
Let's talk about that for aminute, because I do think
(27:45):
people who are really into thesepractices, beliefs such as
astrology, sometimes it canbecome.
I don't wanna say toxic.
But sometimes they forget.
There's a whole other side to itthat you need to educate
yourself on.
Yeah.
Because we only talk about allthe good stuff.
Oh, how cool.
(28:05):
Look at, I am an amazing, beautiful earth goddess.
It's yes, you are.
And there's also a flip side.
There's two sides to every coin.
There's the shadow side, whichif we're not tapping into these
correctly, or we're pulling awayfrom these traits that are part
of our true essence, then wecould be tapping into the shadow
(28:26):
side.
And there's lots of things thatcan push you into the shadow
side of things.
But it means basically you'reout of alignment with your signs
in this case.
And the natural personalitytraits and characteristics that
come with them.
Yeah, absolutely.
When you think about the shadowside, and you read through them,
what stood out to you most?
(28:47):
So for me, definitely somethingthat stood out that is true is
that I may clinging to comfortand familiarity instead of
growth better.
The devil I know, energy andyes, I can say that 100%
undoubtedly that is part of theshadow side And might resist
emotions or vulnerability, eventhough I'm this water sign
(29:10):
that's really emotional andcrying all the time on the
inside mostly, but sometimes onthe outside too might resist
emotions and or vulnerability isbig.
Yep.
I could see that can becomeemotionally guarded or withdraw
completely.
When feeling unsafe And mightappear passive aggressive or
overly moody instead ofexpressing needs directly.
(29:32):
Yeah I can definitely see that.
May over identify with thecaregiver role and forget her
own needs.
Bingo.
All right, Andy, so we coveredmine.
What are your shadow vibes?
What do you feel like resonateswith you when you were looking
through the list that was givento you?
Oh, none of them.
(29:53):
I think some that I related towas like for my Sun in Aquarius,
that I can become detached, likethe detached rebel, like
emotionally distant or aloof, especially when feelings get too
messy.
There's too much happening, toomany emotions.
And it takes over.
And I tend to be more in aflight mode as the air sign.
(30:15):
I'm just gonna float away intothe clouds and you're not gonna
see me.
I can definitely isolate myselfor keep people at arms length.
So I resonated with that becauseI have definitely seen that show
up Okay.
As a shadow in my experiences.
I definitely also resonate withgetting stuck in emotional loops
(30:36):
of resentment, and I love thatthis said revenge because if,
like you betray me so hard.
Like I'm coming for you.
You know what I mean?
I'm pretty calm, prettylevelheaded.
You have to push me really far.
And really hard for me to justreally lose it, but once I lose
it I'm not gonna, yeah, if Iwere a revengeful person, which
(30:59):
I am not.
I wouldn't be the I'm just gonnapunch you in your face at the
bar.
I would be the like, you're notgonna see me coming.
I'm gonna plan it out.
You'd be the John Wick?
I would be the John Wick forsure.
100%.
Like I would the other parts ofmyself that are just like live
in this very loving, optimisticplace.
(31:21):
Yeah.
I would never be able to be thatkind of person, but I could
definitely relate to that.
And as far as like taurusrising, I can definitely dig in
my heels.
Especially if something feelsunsafe or I'm feel uncertain
about it.
So I do I, see some things here.
There's a couple that I'm like Idon't know, not so much, but I
could be that way just because Ihaven't really experienced them,
(31:43):
so I can't relate them toanything.
Yeah, that's true.
I think it's also important tonote, since we're talking about
shadow side, is that.
You can also transmute theshadow.
So transmuting the shadow.
It's not about fixing it orerasing it'cause it's always
gonna be there.
But it's about acknowledging itwith love and understanding
where it comes from.
(32:03):
And then we consciously choose anew way of being and or
consciously choose ways to bringourselves back to alignment with
who we are.
In our more natural state.
What did we learn today so much?
Too much.
It's like a lot.
I have like information overloadin my brain, to be honest.
You're like, as my shadow sidesaid, it's time for me to go
home and retreat.
(32:24):
Like it's overloading me, so Igotta go, I gotta float away in
the clouds.
I think I think it's reallyinteresting it probably gives me
a little less skepticism.
Yeah.
I than so before doing it.
And I can definitely see some ofthe connections to spirituality.
Am I gonna make all my lifedecisions based on my birth
chart?
Probably not.
(32:44):
But I find it fun and I'm stillcurious about it.
And so I like to play withthings like that.
And how do they connect withother things?
If I see a certain patternhappening in my life and then
it's in my chart also, that'sinteresting to me.
I wanna explore that a littlebit more, so I probably wanna do
a little bit more reading andlearn more about it.
But I definitely think this isnot a belief system that if you
(33:04):
adopt, you can't believe inanything else.
I think it's a tool like anyother tool that you can use in
your life, to help you betterunderstand yourself.
I agree with that and I thinkapproaching it with, from a
place of openness and just beingflexible to trying new things
and trying to see if maybe thisis something that speaks to you
(33:27):
or that you find alignment with,or that it helps you identify
some of your good values andtraits, I think it could be
really good.
In terms of being utilized as atool for that.
I also think it's a great optionfor connection.
So if you wanna just do yourchart with your significant
other just for fun or do it withfriends, I think it could be a
really meaningful experience fortwo people to do, or a group of
(33:50):
people to do.
If you have a group of friendsthat are really close and, wanna
compare and contrast and givetheir 2 cents about the whole
thing.
It was definitely fun.
I liked reading.
About myself and I liked readingabout you, and I thought it gave
me something to think about.
The complexities of personalityare not always reflected in a
(34:13):
lot of things when it comes topeople who talk about astrology.
And sometimes it can actually beused as a tool for bias.
In my personal opinion oh,that's such a tourist thing, or
that's such a Scorpio thing todo.
Where we have these.
Predisposed notions about aperson.
I do think that I enjoyed theconcept of sitting down and
seeing all the differentelements that actually come into
(34:37):
play when they're reading fromthe stars.
Will I live by this, by thebook?
No.
But I like the fact that it didbring up some of the things that
I know to be true in my ownlived experience.
Yeah.
And I'm like, oh wow.
That's interesting.
And yeah, it did make me alittle bit more curious about
it.
I'm probably not gonna read itagain, to be really honest.
I'm not gonna lie, I am gonnarun my daughter's chart so I can
(34:58):
better understand her.
'cause I have a teenage daughterand sometimes I'm like I don't
know what language you'respeaking, so maybe if I know
maybe you're running chart whatwas written in the stars, it
will help me understand mypartner's a cancer.
I totally get it.
Like everybody that meets him,he's just like a true cancer but
yeah, I think it's a tool.
(35:19):
Definitely.
I do appreciate that.
If you really are interested inthis, I recommend that you do
the chart learn about it, readthrough it, and maybe work with
someone who can break it downfor you, because it is
complicated.
As we were reading it, it waslike, what, there's 12 houses
and all these different, it'slike aspects and it, gets really
(35:41):
deep and intricate.
Which does lend to this ideathat we're all so unique, even
though we share common themesand common traits.
At the end of the day, we'relike individual stars in the
universe and we're all veryunique and different from each
other, which very sweet ispretty cool.
Yeah, that's very sweet.
And we will leave you with that.
(36:02):
Little unique star you.
So go ahead, look up your chart, let us know what you find.
We wanna know your big three andwhat makes you feel so seen.
And whether you're deep intoastrology or just here for the
vibes or curious, like we were,we hope this episode gave you
something fun to think about.
