The Big Pitch with Jimmy Carr

The Big Pitch with Jimmy Carr

The Big Pitch with Jimmy Carr is a brand new comedy podcast where each week a different celebrity guest pitches an idea for a film based on one of the SUPER niche sub-genres on Netflix. From ‘Steamy Crime Movies from the 1970s’ to ‘Australian Dysfunctional Family Comedies Starring A Strong Female Lead’, our celebrity guests will pitch their wacky plot, their dream cast, the marketing stunts, and everything in between. By the end of every episode, Jimmy Carr, Comedian by night / “Netflix Executive” by day, will decide whether the pitch is greenlit or condemned to development hell! Where does Nick Mohammed’s mind go when asked to make an ‘Everybody’s Home For The Holidays’ film? What’s the narrative arc for Romesh Ranganathan’s ‘BRB Crying’ tearjerker? What on earth would Michelle Wolf’s ‘Coming of Age animal tale’ look like? Find out on The Big Pitch. Listen on all podcast platforms and watch on the Netflix is a Joke YouTube Channel. New episodes every other Wednesday starting May 28th! The Big Pitch is a co-production by Netflix and BBC Studios Audio.

Ahir Shah is Jimmy’s guest this week. And Ahir’s subgenre is… Class Is In Session! So we’re talking classic high school movies, why we accept watching adults playing teenagers, and the weird things we thought were normal thirty years ago. Ahir manages to pull out a hell of a concept for a film. But we have to wait 20 years to release it - will it be worth the wait? Enjoy! Where does Nick Mohammed’s mind go when asked to make ...

This week, London Hughes joins Jimmy Carr, and her subgenre is… Teen Supernatural Drama. Maybe our most combative episode yet? London comes into Jimmy’s office to pitch a strictly caucasian film. Along the way, they argue about ghosts, doppelgangers, Jimmy being a ‘spicy white’ and why black people never go camping. And Florence Pugh. It’s a very funny episode. Enjoy!    Each week a celebrity guest pitches an idea for a film ...

Our guest this week is Michelle Wolf! And Michelle’s subgenre is… Coming Of Age Animal Tales. A self confessed bad pitcher, this week Michelle brings an idea that goes against both God and nature. Along the way, she showcases her knowledge of all things Chinese, discusses the difficulty of coming out if you’re a baby rhino, and threatens to flip the coffee table over. It’s a good one. The Big Pitch with Jimmy Carr is a new co...

Jimmy's guest this week is Chris McCausland! And the subgenre he's working with is … One Person Army. One of our most chaotic episodes yet, Chris pitches an idea that is absolutely nothing like John Wick (nothing at all like it so stop even thinking that). He casts himself as the main character, there’s a magic dog talking beyond the grave, he repeatedly pitches a tagline that Jimmy hates and yet somehow, there might be not one ...
