Most high-performing entrepreneurs think they need the perfect business strategy to succeed.
But what if the truth is… strategy is useless without the right state of mind?

In this episode, Grant opens up about the journey that changed everything: from feeling trapped in the wrong relationship, chasing someone else’s version of success — to rediscovering who he was through mindset work, emotional healing, and finally… purpose.

This is the true start of the Healthy Mind pillar inside The Carnivore Entrepreneur system — the second pillar to unlocking real wealth and living life on your terms.

🔑 What you'll discover:

  • How Grant’s breakthrough moment came from mental clarity, not business hacks
  • Why “I just need the right strategy” is a false economy
  • How developing a Healthy Mind unlocked purpose, peace, and progress
  • The belief patterns that silently sabotage financial success
  • Why body + mind alignment creates the space for the real strategy to appear
  • The 3 principles Grant lives by for mental strength and resilience

💭 “Without the right energy and focus mechanics, strategy is irrelevant.”

If you’re stuck in your head, unclear on your purpose, or chasing success that doesn’t feel aligned… this episode is your wake-up call.

Here we go, episode number three of the carnivore
Entrepreneur Show. So I used tothink that success in business
was about working hard andhaving the right strategy,
grind, grind, grind, grind, grind, and have the right
strategy to success. However,I've come to realize that it's
not always about that there aretimes where you've got to work

(00:23):
hard, absolutely, yes, however, there is also a huge, huge need
for clarity, belief and focus, and a busy and confused mind is
a huge inhibitor to having ahealthy bank account or healthy
business. So I'm going to takeyou back to about 2014 2015

(00:43):
where I was at the tail end ofthis comfort trap that I was in.
So in my previous marriage, likeI said, I've always been good at
making money. I was making about40,000 pounds a year, but there
was just something, somethingthat wasn't right inside of me.
You know, I made the money forfor our household, and I used to
go to work, and I was good at myjob, really, really good at my

(01:04):
job, and all the money went intoa joint bank account. I got
given an allowance each month, Ihad to ask permission for me to
be able to do anything in mylife. It really sort of dawned
on me that I wasn't living lifeon on my terms. And I found this
guy, Tony Robbins, and watchinghis videos on a regular basis
that really sort of flipped thisswitch inside my head and

(01:26):
started getting me to think moreabout what it is that I wanted.
And this was, like, said, wassort of tail end of 2014 my
second son, Max, had just beenborn, and I was at a point where
I wasn't really happy with mylife. Had asked permission for
everything. I didn't want tohave a third child, and my ex

(01:47):
wife wanted a third child. Ireally did not want one. I think
Porou, because we had two boys, and she wanted a girl. So I
really just didn't want to andit made me search for stuff. And
I was on this search orsomething, and I came across
like said, Tony Robbins, TonyRobbins, it really resonated
with me. And he talked aboutstuff like finding your true
self, finding who you are, betrue to you. And I felt like I

(02:11):
wasn't being true to myself andsaying things Be who you were
meant to be. And these are allthe things that I was listening
to, you know, stuff like statemanagement, putting yourself
into a really good state byusing your physiology, emotion
equals energy in motion, likehow to use your body to get your
state into a better place, leading into getting your

(02:34):
stories into a better place.
Because the stories that youtell yourself inside your mind
are the things that you start tobelieve your belief systems. So
if you believe really positiveand empowering things that will
translate into your physicalworld. This is an old, old, old
saying, but everything you thinkyou become. And Tony Robbins was

(02:57):
starting to teach me this, andit woke me up. And beginning of
2015, I woke up and I started todo things that I wanted to do. I
was listening to Tony, which wasreally getting my mind right,
and it started taking me on thisdirectional journey into a place
where I wanted to be. And itwasn't clear at first. It really

(03:17):
wasn't, because I started thisjourney and my ex wife really
didn't like it. Really what Iwas starting to do was I was
starting to think for myself. Mymind was getting healthier, so I
was thinking for myself a lotmore. I was thinking about, what
is this gonna do for me and helpme? You know, little things like
getting up earlier, reading morebooks, listening to more YouTube

(03:42):
videos, starting to educatemyself in different ways. It was
funny as well, that where I wasin my job, things started going
better in my job, but thingsstarted going worse at home, and
I actually got kicked out of thehouse a number of times. I can't
remember how many it was, maybefour or five, but what would
happen is I'd get kicked out ofthe house, and I would be asked
to come back, and I'd end upgoing back. So it was this like
vicious cycle. For a few months,I was being accused of things
that I wasn't doing. At thetime, had to pretend that I was

(04:05):
drinking, you know, to get angrybecause I wasn't out of drink.
So I pour a glass of wine, pretend to drink it, and then to
put down the drain. If I didn'tfeel as good outside of my home
at the time, I probably wouldhave stopped. I didn't see all
the good things outside of myhome, because inside the home it
was getting worse and worse andworse, and that's sort of where
it led me to meet the love of mylife, Kay. Work was going great,

(04:31):
so I won a competition toChamonix, and I met Kay in
Chamonix again. We just startedtalking and talking talking, and
got home and realized that Ifelt more at home when I was
talking to Kay than when I wasat home. Made me realize that I
didn't want to be at homeanymore. So the last time that I
got kicked out, I never wentback and spoke to Kay, said, I
want to meet up with you. Andwithin three months, I'd moved
from West Sussex, where I wasbefore, to live in Swansea with

(04:52):
Kay. And that year, 2015, wasthe first time that I actually
defined my purpose. Yes, I'vealways been the type of guy that
wants to help people out. I'vebeen always been generous with
my money. Always wanted to seepeople smile. Never defined that
as my purpose, really. Until2015, one of my earliest
memories of me, you know, wanting to help people was when

(05:13):
my granddad became seriously illand he had a massive stroke and
was in intensive care for anumber of weeks. And I just
wanted to be with my nan andgrandad and help them get
through this really, reallytough time. I was at the
hospital all the time. I wentback to my nan's house and

(05:34):
helped with the dog so that shewasn't alone. As my granddad was
waking up and more conscious. Hehad like a tracheotomy in his
throat, and I had this letterboard, and he pointed at letters
and nodded and things like that.
We made words so that hecommunicate. But that was my
real early, earliest memory ofwanting to help people. So in
2015 when I sort of liberatedmyself from my previous life and

(05:57):
my comfort zone, I was able tothink about what my purpose was.
So the first time I actuallywrote down what my purpose was
was in 2015 I wrote it down asbeing the best I can to bring
out the best in others. And Iwrote that down, and that was
what my why was. And then in2019 we went to Unleash the

(06:19):
Power Within it's the first timeI'd listened to Tony Robbins for
years and years and years, and Isort of streamlined my purpose
again. I defined it as helpingeveryone be successful, and
that's when we brought that intothe business. So our business
became a business that ishelping everyone be successful,
helping people be successful. Soit means the same as the

(06:39):
previous one, but it's a littlebit more streamlined and just
little bit more to the point webrought that into our business
as well, because we help clientsget the most from their
properties. So it really is infitting with that, you know,
helping them be successful withtheir investments. You know,
helping my kids be successful intheir lives, helping my friends
and family be successful at whatthey do by contributing to their

(07:00):
life. So it really did sit wellwith me for a number of years,
that helping people besuccessful, and that's what
drove me so a better why canovercome any how you'll do
anything you need to do ifyou've got a good enough why.
And that's where, recently, in2024 I've redefined that purpose
to being more personal. Andagain, that's probably where the
carnival entrepreneur has bredfrom is I now have defined it as

(07:24):
I want to help people live lifeon their terms, but more
importantly, with strength, energy and purpose. I wanted to
just show you there how gettingyourself a healthy mind can
change the whole trajectory ofyour life and actually redefine
the purpose as to why you wereput here. And it grows and

(07:45):
develops. The more my mind hasgrown and developed, the more my
purpose has grown and developed, and actually, the more my
business has grown anddeveloped. It started with a
healthy body and then grew intoa healthy mind. Your mind helps
your body, and your body helpsyour mind. Your Mind Your mind
will help your bank account.
Your body will help your bankaccount. And then, actually, if
you've got a great bank account, you can use your money to buy
things that give you a betterbody and a better mind. But

(08:07):
we'll talk about those in futureepisodes. I just wanted to take
you through that and show you, sort of how my story of figuring
out my mind and my purpose hasdeveloped and grown. I'm sure
during these episodes and yearsthat that I do the carnivore
entrepreneur, because I'm justwant to attract people that
believe what I believe. Youknow, are you a carnivore? Are
you an entrepreneur? Are yousomeone that wants to live life

(08:29):
on your terms? Do you believewhat I believe? Come on this
journey. But the point is, isthis is why I truly believe that
looking after your mind, thinking empowering and
productive things, whiledeveloping and defining your
purpose is another importantpillar to living life on your
terms with strength, energy andpurpose. Yeah, the biggest, the

(08:51):
absolute biggest false economyto any business is I just need
the right strategy, thestrategic thing
that you do to make a businesswork. If you get your body and
your mind into the right place, you will find the right
strategy. That's why we foundthe first strategy that we used

(09:12):
to get ourselves out of ourjobs. Remember sometimes and
again, this is happening rightnow as we speak. The reason why
I'm changing my focus from abusiness that we have now a main
trading company is called kgshort stay. We specialize in
short term rentals, okay, andmanaging properties for owners.
Now, the reason why I'mtransitioning away from that is
because what got me here, thestrategy that got me here, is

(09:35):
not going to get me to whereI've got to, and it's all
because I look after my body andmy mind. That's helped me find
this new strategy, this newsystem of the carnivore
entrepreneur, you will find thisin your life that the more you
get your body and your mind intothe right place, your mind
right, everything else will fallinto place as well. Get that
right and the right things willfall where they need to fall,

(09:57):
and you'll see them the rightstrategy is. Not the way forward
getting your body and mind intothe right place is so the truth
is that without a healthy body, you won't have the right energy,
and without a healthy mind, youwon't have the right focus or
belief mechanics to carry it allthrough. Strategy is almost
irrelevant without those twothings. Remember these three

(10:19):
things. Remember number one, tolive intentionally, not
reactively. Number two, believeyou can not you can't. And then
number three is to take actionirrelevant of what others think
to be authentic. This is whatI'm doing right now. I'm taking
action on things that I believeirrelevant of what other people
think. There are going to bepeople that don't think the way

(10:41):
that I think. That's fine, butI'm but I'm hoping that there
are people out there that dothink what I think and believe
what I believe. That's who I'mtalking to right now. Get
yourself a healthy body leads onto a healthy mind next time,
we're going to talk about someof the things that I do and the
reasons behind how I've got mybank account to where it is now.
And don't get me wrong, my bankaccount ain't where I want it to

(11:03):
be yet, but I've achieved a lotalong the way, and I'm hoping
that I can show people what I'veachieved now. They're going to
be people out there that have abigger bank, a bank account to
me, that haven't got their mindand their body sorted. They're
going to be people out therethat got their mind and their
body sorted, but just haven'tgot their bank accounts where it
needs to be. And they're goingto be some key things along the
episodes. That I'm going to begiving you over the next few
weeks, few months, whateverthere are going to be the ticket

(11:24):
to unlocking whatever it is youwant to unlock. What I want you
to do is just comment below ifyou've had a belief about money
or success that is holding youback something in your mind, if
you believed something in yourbrain that held you back from
making the money that you wantedto make, comment below, if there
is anything that you can thinkabout because of about, because
I really like to hear about it.

(11:45):
And on the next episode, we'regoing to be talking about the
bank account and the habits thatyou need to build wealth. Thank
you for joining me on that one,and I'll see you on the next
episode. If this episoderesonated with you, share it
with someone who needs to hearit. You are a carnivore
entrepreneur. Live life how itwas supposed to be lived on your
terms with strength, energy andpurpose. I'll see you on the
next episode. You.
