After 28 difficult years, I finally decided to resign from the Mormon faith. Join me as I discuss the cultural, historical and doctrinal issues that plague the LDS church. This podcast is not meant to bash Mormons. Instead, I intend to deconstruct Mormonism from the lens of a former member. It is my hope that I may educate non-members about the dangers of this organization, and to hopefully persuade active members to seriously question their beliefs. Warning: if you are a member of the church, you're going to have a bad time, but if you decide to listen, I hope you'll learn something.
Today, I decided to read through some angry emails Mormons sent to exmormon.org. I also discuss why it's important to not solely rely on your feelings when searching for truth.
President Spencer W. Kimball's book The Miracle of Forgiveness caused more harm than good. In this episode, I discuss how Church doctrine negatively impacts the mental health of many of the members in the Church. **Trigger Warning. Topics include self-harm, abuse, and mental illness***.
In this pilot episode, with the help of the book The Mormon Corporate Empire by John Heinerman and Anson Shupe, I discuss the finances of the LDS Church and what really motivates the Church's leaders. Is it the Spirit of God or is it their bottom line?
