This one’s for the ones still fighting. For my son—21 years old—who just got out after doing 5 years at 50% for trafficking fentanyl. This ain’t a sob story. It’s real life. It’s about what happens after the time is served, after the doors close behind you and you’re left trying to rebuild in a world that ain’t built for second chances. If you’ve ever walked out of hell and kept going, this one’s for you.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome back to the Grind, Real Talk, Real Life. Today's episode.
It ain't for the weak hearted. This is for the
ones who've been through it and came out still trying.
This is for my son twenty one years old, just
walked out of the system after doing five years at
fifty percent for trafficking fitting off. Now some folks hear

(00:23):
that and they make up their mind right then and there.
They don't care about the story. They don't care about
the search that shouldn't have happened. They don't care about
how easy it is to get caught up when the
world don't give you many clean ways out. But I
do cause I've been there, Cause I watched the system

(00:45):
twist my son up, just like it try to twist me.
He was just a kid man, still have baby fat
in his face. Now he's walking out with tom served
Us shattered and a record that will follow him like
a damn shadow. But here's what hits different. He's trying.

(01:08):
He ain't running, he ain't hiding, He's trying to do
the next right thing. And I see it in him,
that flicker, that hunger to be more than his charges.
People always say you got to earn trust back but
let me say this loud. Some folks never got trust
to begin with us. They came into this world fighting, scrapping, surviving.

(01:33):
So maybe instead of judging, we start supporting. Instead of
writing people off, we write them in. To my son,
if you're listening, you were not your past, you're not
your charges, you're not broken, know that your dad loves you.

(01:56):
You're just still just standing. And that's more than most
can say. So this episode, this is your fresh page.
You ain't gotta be perfect. You just gotta keep trying
to show up, one day at a time, one right
choice at a time. We're right here with you. This
is the grind, real talk, real life. I'll catch you

(02:19):
on the flip side.
