The power of Scripture lies in its living, active nature—a divine force that works within us rather than static words on a page. Have you ever experienced a Bible verse suddenly illuminating with profound insight, perfectly addressing your current circumstances? This supernatural phenomenon, what some call "revelation knowledge," shows how God speaks through His Word with precise timing.

Scripture isn't merely ancient text; it's a transformative agent that "washes" us spiritually. As Hebrews 4:12 reveals, God's Word penetrates "even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow," judging our deepest thoughts. When we consistently engage with Scripture, an extraordinary spiritual cleansing begins, gradually renewing our thinking and behavior. The more time we spend in God's Word, the more profound the transformation becomes.

Many wonder why numerous Bible translations exist. Some versions prioritize literal wording (King James), while others focus on communicating meaning in contemporary language (NIV). Regardless of translation, the Holy Spirit uses Scripture to speak personally to receptive hearts. What makes the Bible unique among religious texts is its claim to be God's actual words rather than merely teachings about Him. This distinction matters profoundly when seeking authentic spiritual connection.

The journey begins with being "born again"—acknowledging sin, seeking forgiveness, inviting Christ as Lord, and turning from old patterns. This spiritual rebirth opens the door to receiving God's Spirit and experiencing His presence in daily life. No matter what lies in your past, when you surrender to Christ, God wipes your slate completely clean, throwing your sins "into the sea of forgetfulness." You literally become a new creation.

Ready to experience this transformation? Visit soulsplasher.com to learn more about beginning a relationship with Christ and discover personal testimonies of God's work in ordinary lives. When God's living Word takes root in your heart, you'll never be the same.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Timmer J, and I just want to share what the Lord is
sharing with me.
And, in order for me to get itout clearly, I just want to open
up with a quick word of prayer.
Lord, I just thank you, fatherGod, for my listeners.
I thank you, lord, for all thatyou're doing in my life.
Lord, I just pray, father God,that you just guide my heart,

(00:39):
guide my lips, lord, to be ableto correctly share with other
people what you're giving me atthis moment.
And I just thank you, lord, thank you for being with me.
And I thank you for mylisteners and I pray, lord, that
you enable them to hear whatyou want them to hear.
And I just thank you, I justpray for your spirit of peace to
be not only upon me but upon mylisteners.

(01:00):
I just thank you so much, father God, for this opportunity
, this opportunity in life,really.
And let's see the verse I wantto share from today is found in
the book of Hebrews, chapter 4,verse 12.
And I'm reading from the NewInternational Version of the
Bible.
And, just so you know, maybeyou're curious about why there's

(01:22):
so many different versions ofthe Bible.
And just so you know, maybeyou're curious about why there's
so many different versions ofthe Bible.
There's a New King JamesVersion, new Living Translation
and there's many out there.
Basically why that is isbecause some of the verses or
versions of the Bible theyconcentrate on kind of the, I

(01:45):
guess, the letter of the law, more or less what the Bible
originally said, like the KingJames Version.
Now the King James Version iswritten in Old English so it's a
little bit hard to read, butonce you start reading it it
becomes easier.
And the new King James Versionis the King James Version but it

(02:11):
replaces the these and thouswith modern English language, so
it's a little bit easier toread but it's not really smooth.
Like, say, the NIV.
I've used the NIV for manyyears.
I like it.
Other people say well, you know, the NIV has these faults and
that faults.
Well, I tell you what man, whenthe Holy Spirit, when the Lord

(02:34):
baptized me in the Holy Spirit,I was reading the NIV and I was
just getting blessed.
And throughout the years of mylife I have just stuck with the
NIV and it is just such ablessing, and a blessing in a
way, that as I'm reading it itreally touches my spirit in a
way.
That's just in the insightsthere.
I've read other study Bibles.

(02:57):
The NIV has a study Bible andit's funny because in the NIV
when you get the more completestudy Bibles where the people
put their notes or the authors, there's a team of authors that
put it together.
But sometimes when I read therethe questions or the answers to

(03:18):
a particular verse, or whenthey expound on something,
that's not the thing that I wantexpounded.
I want something else to beexpounded, another verse to be
expounded, and over the years,as I pray to the Lord, he has
expounded those verses.
So it's just really, it's beenreally a blessing just following

(03:39):
the Lord, the whole thing.
When you have a relationshipwith the Lord and you're reading
his word, it just comestogether.
But my original comment was whyare there so many different
versions of the Bible?
Well, some emphasize the wordof God, each word per se, and
other ones emphasizes the moveof the Spirit.

(04:01):
I mean, they emphasize what theHoly Spirit is doing.
It kind of has that leaning toit.
And well, I tell you, whenyou're reading the Word of God,
it just starts feeding yourspirit.
And what happens as your spiritgets fed, your spirit starts
overcoming your soulish natureand it's just all of a sudden.

(04:22):
It's like I mentioned in myfirst podcast episode.
One is that it's kind of likegoing from a lily pad to lily
pad when you're walking.
It's just you're walking onwater in a sense, and not
physically walking on water, butboy oh boy, the Lord will just
refresh you and just cause youto grow in those areas.

(04:43):
And I'm telling you, the Bibleis a verse in the Bible where it
talks about the things of thisworld.
They become strangely dim andwhat that means is that they
become not so important Like youhear on the news and all the
stuff happening.
Don't get too wrapped up inthat, because just know that the
Bible says in the last daysthere'll be a great increase in

(05:04):
witness, things will happen.
This is before the Lord returns.
So the key for you is to beprepared for when the Lord
returns.
And, as a side note, I have awebsite called soulsplashercom,
s-o-u-l-s-p-l-a-s-h-e-r.
Soulsplashercom and thatexplains all the steps for you

(05:27):
to start a relationship withJesus Christ to become born
again.
Now, when Jesus in the Bible, when he repeats something two
times, it's really important.
But when he was talking aboutbeing born again, he mentioned
that three times and he reallystressed the importance of being
born again.
He mentioned that three timesand he really stressed the

(05:48):
importance of being born again.
So what a person needs to do isto basically become born again.
What that means is asking theLord for forgiveness for your
sins and inviting him into yourlife to become Lord and Savior
of your life and to turn awayfrom your sins.
Go in the opposite direction, Imean, change your life around.
And so these are the steps.
And there again, the steps aremore clearly spelled out on my

(06:16):
website.
But this is what enables you toreceive the Holy Spirit.
This is the doorway, and one ofthe names of Jesus is door.
I mean Father, son and HolySpirit.
They're all the same butdifferent and giving your life

(06:38):
to Christ that opens up thedoorway for the Holy Spirit.
And there's so much that happensas a result of that
relationship, not only when yougive your life to Christ.
You are a new creature.
The Bible says you are a newcreature.
After you do that, the oldthings are passed away.

(06:58):
What God does is all your sinsin your life, and I don't care
what you've done in your life,it doesn't matter.
When you give your life toChrist, your sins are on like a
chalkboard, a whiteboard, andthey're all recorded.
But once you give your life toChrist and ask for his
forgiveness and ask him to beLord and Savior of your life,

(07:21):
your slate is completely wipedclean.
That means anything you've everdone in your life as far as
sins and wrong things and, believe me, I had bucket loads
before I came to Christ but onceyou do that, your life is
completely changed and Godremembers your sin no more.

(07:42):
The Bible says he throws itinto the sea of forgetfulness.
How God does that I don't know, but all I know is that all of a
sudden your sin is not heldagainst you and as you're
walking with the Lord and asthat relationship develops and
gets stronger, your ability or Ishould say your ability, or I

(08:04):
should say your susceptibility,to fall into the old sin nature
that becomes less and less asyou start your walk with Christ.
Yeah, sometimes you're going tomake mistakes and sometimes you
may do what you used to do, butwhen that happens, just get up
and dust yourself off.
If you fall into the old ditchthat you used to do, get up and

(08:26):
dust yourself off and keepwalking.
As you keep doing that, itbecomes stronger and stronger
and stronger.
And I'm just telling you, theLord just will love you so much,
not that you're earning it, butthere's just this freedom that
comes and there's just this, oh,the Lord is downloading into me

(08:49):
right now.
There's just the feeling of theHoly Spirit and, lord, I just
pray for my audience right now,Father God, that as you're
downloading and blessing me,lord, right now, I just pray
that you just bless the peopleon the other side of this
microphone, those that arehearing this message, that you
just fill them up, father God,even more than you're filling me
up, lord.

(09:09):
Touch their hearts, changetheir hearts, lord, allow them
to come to you, allow them toexperience, father God, the love
that you have for them.
Thank you, lord.
And another result of you givingyour life to Christ and when
you make mistakes which we alldo, there again, pick yourself

(09:30):
up and dust yourself off.
God doesn't see your mistakeswhen he sees you, when he sees
you, I guess, looking down onearth and you've given your life
to Christ, the Bible says thatyou are covered by.
Jesus was nailed to the cross.
He shed his blood.
That shed blood covers yoursins.

(09:51):
So when God looks down, hedoesn't necessarily see your sin
.
He sees that you are histhrough the shed blood of his
son, jesus Christ.
He looks down and he says thatone's mine, that one's mine,
that one's mine.
And while he's saying that andseeing that and seeing you, he

(10:14):
just has so much in store foryou, and giving your life to
Christ opens this up for youcompletely.
And so I just want to encourageyou and maybe you're a
non-believer, maybe you've neverbelieved in God, maybe you
think this is just nuts, but Ijust want to tell you it's not.
It really isn't, because theBible is the only word of God

(10:39):
that all other religious booksout there claim to be written by
a prophet of God.
But the Bible is different inthat it claims to be the Word of
God.
Now, all other religions outnot all of them, but typically

(11:02):
religions will acknowledge Jesusas a son of God, and I heard
this online and I thought thisis pretty cool, but Jesus didn't
acknowledge any of them.
They acknowledge him, but hedoesn't acknowledge them.
And what this person was sayingthat I heard online is that and

(11:24):
this is in a direct quote buthe said if I'm going to worship
somebody, I'm going to worshipsomebody that all these other
religions acknowledged, and hedidn't acknowledge them.
So this person decided to goright to the source, to the God
of gods, to the King of kings,to the Lord of lords, to the
living God of the Bible.

(11:45):
The living God, I'm telling you, once you start this
relationship, it's so grandWords are hard to describe it.
Now I want to get back to theverse Hebrews, chapter 4, verse
12.
For the word of God is livingand active, sharper than any

(12:08):
double-edged sword.
It penetrates even to dividingthe soul and spirit, joints and
marrow.
It judges the thoughts andattitudes of the heart.
Nothing in all creation ishidden from God's sight.
Everything is uncovered andlaid bare before his eyes of him
to whom we must give an account.
So what the Word of God does isit is living.

(12:32):
The Word of God is alive.
The Word of God is living asyou start reading the Word of
God and applying it to yourheart, and you don't have to
know everything in the Word ofGod is living as you start
reading the Word of God andapplying it to your heart, and
you don't have to knoweverything in the Word of God,
you don't have to have anybodyelse discern it or how can I say
, define it for you?

(12:53):
You can just start reading theWord of God and start with the
New Testament Matthew, mark,Luke, john and you can just as
you read the Word.
There's going to be a change onthe inside of you.
It's hard to describe, but theBible says that we are washed
with the word as we read theword.
What happens is that you startto change, in that you're being

(13:17):
washed in the word.
The Lord will start washing thejunk in your life.
He'll start washing thepressures, the aggravation, all
the negative things in the world.
He'll start washing thosethings from you and making you
clean.
It's exactly the way it's said.
I mean, it's exactly the waythe verse spells it out how

(13:40):
He'll wash you with the word, asyou apply the word to your life
and to your heart, that all ofa sudden changes will start
happening in your life and thesechanges are permanent and
there's actually an ebb and flow.
The more time you spend withthe Lord, the more washing it
takes effect, the more changingthat takes effect the change in

(14:01):
your life, and it is.
If you slow down in reading theWord, there is an adverse
effect too, but you'll never beback to zero.
I mean, once you give your lifeto Christ, you're a brand new
person.
So the Word is just vitamins tojust get you going.
And as you read the Word, there's a thing that happens.
It's referred to as revelationknowledge, and I don't know if

(14:25):
that's necessarily a biblicalterm, but it's one of the gifts
of the Holy Spirit and that'sknowledge, the gift of knowledge
, and I think they tie together.
There'll be a verse that willjust really, really, it'll just
kind of, it'll touch your heartin a special way, like man.

(14:50):
That is just such an answer, such an answer, and I mean
that'll go on throughout yourwhole Christian walk.
I mean you'll be reading versesand chapters that you read
before and all of a sudden, man, there'll be a verse that'll
just light right up and you'llgo oh my gosh, that is just so
right on the money.
And you've read that hundredsof times before and it didn't do

(15:13):
anything.
But this time it did, becauseusually what happens is that
circumstances in your lifechange and all of a sudden this
really starts to apply becauseof what you're going through.
At that moment the Lord's wordis alive.
The Lord knows what you'regoing through.
He's going to highlight stuffin his word so that you can
apply it to your life.

(15:33):
And life becomes so much betterand, like I said before, your
problems, the aggravation, thepeace of God comes into your
life, comes into your heart, starts settling you down, starts
giving you a sense of peacethat you've never felt anywhere
before, I mean.
And so it just all workstogether and it just it's life

(15:59):
changing.
And the key is too is the Biblesays, the Lord says in the Holy
Spirit, hear the Holy Spirit'sstill small voice.
It's almost a whisper, it'smore of an unction, kind of an
intuition, but it's there andthe Lord will just guide you.
The Lord will give you, theHoly Spirit will give you a
little bit, or say a little bit,or talk to you a little bit
through his word.
And all of a sudden, man, itmight be just a few words, it

(16:22):
might be just a sentence, itmight be, but all of a sudden
that's exactly what you neededat that moment for what you're
going through at that time, andit is so perfect.
And as you meditate on the wordand spend time praying to the
Lord and just say Lord, couldyou expound on that Lord?
Talk to the Lord like he's yourbest friend, lord, could you
expound on that, lord?
That really touched my heart.

(16:43):
What does that mean?
And you just spend time alonewith the Lord.
All of a sudden, he just startsbringing that to life and he'll
show you and he'll fan intoflame your faith.
And it's just all of a suddenyour faith begins to grow.

(17:05):
And that's just one instance.
As you're reading the Word, your faith will just continue to
grow, and it's just incredible.
