got a plan to save Gotham with Tony Shue.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Trump is suing The New.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
York Times, and Luigi Mangioni is let off the hook
on terrorism charges. We have a legal analyst to break
down the latest in those cases, and bye bye, Jimmy.
Carrie Lake will join us to talk about the cancelation
of late night host Jimmy Kimmel.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
All next on The Matt Gates.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Show, Shaking Up Washington, d C. We're breaking the fever.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Do you haven't watch this guy on television.

Speaker 5 (00:29):
It's like a machine.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
He's great.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Matt Gates, Good evening.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
I'm Brandon Strock filling in for Matt Gates. We're living
in a dangerous moment in this country and the proof
is everywhere. In just the past week, we've seen a
disturbing pattern people openly celebrating the murder of Charlie Kirk,
and many of them paying the price with their jobs.
At Middle Tennessee State University and assistant dean named Laura
sosh Lightsei when on social media after Charlie's death and

(01:02):
wrote looks like old Charlie spoke his fate into existence.
Hate begets hate, zero sympathy. The university immediately fired her.
At the University of Mississippi, an employee reshared mocking comments
about Charlie's death.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
They were fired.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
The Carolina Panthers had to dismiss a communications staffer who
jumped on social media to gloat about Kirk's killing. NASDAK,
one of the largest financial institutions in the world, fired
a strategist who celebrated the shooting online and in Las Vegas.
Fox Sports producer Bobby Makato was terminated after posting Karma

(01:40):
is a Mother effort about Charlie's death. Even a Rhode
Island High School teacher, Benjamin Pillow, was placed on leave
after posting a TikTok calling Charlie a piece of garbage
and appearing to celebrate his murder. Teachers, nurses, professors, corporate employees,
sports broadcasters, the list goes on. These aren't random trolls

(02:01):
hiding in the dark corners of the Internet. These are
people in positions of responsibility, people entrusted with shaping students,
influencing culture, and working inside major institutions. And yet they
felt comfortable mocking and celebrating the violent death of a conservative.
Why because the left has spent years telling Americans that
Conservatives are Nazis, fascists, racists, homophobes, transphobes, white supremacists, every

(02:26):
slur in the book. They have dehumanized us to the
point where celebrating murder feels righteous to them. And when
that rhetoric collides with instability and mental illness, it pushes
people over the edge into psychopathy. And that's what the
left is unleashed in this country. And make no mistake,
this is the same dangerous energy fueling people like Zoron

(02:47):
Mamdani in New York City. As a New York State assemblyman,
mam Donni once tried to ban Charlie Kirk from speaking
in his borough of Queen's, referring to Kirk as a
far right extremist and a transphobic bigot. Mam Donnie isn't
just another politician. He's part of the radical socialist movement,
the most rageful, unhinged, and extreme sect of the American left,

(03:09):
a movement that thrives on division, feeds on the anger,
and tells people daily that their conservative neighbors are enemies
of humanity. If someone like Mam Donnie were to become
mayor of New York, this city would live under NonStop
divisive messaging. Every press conference, every media hit, every policy
fight would be another chance to brand conservatives as fascists

(03:32):
and white supremacists. That's not leadership, that's hatred from the
mayor's office, and it endangers lives. That's why I've taken
on the mission of working in New York City to
stop him.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Because this isn't just politics.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
This is about preventing the rhetoric of the socialist left
from escalating into even more violence. And if you want
to know what that looks like, just remember Daniel Penny.
He was a marine veteran riting the subway when a
man with a long history of violent behaviors started threatening passengers,
Penny stepped in to protect others. And for that act

(04:06):
of courage, he wasn't celebrated. He was prosecuted, he was vilified.
He was turned into the villain, while violent offenders were
portrayed as victims. That is exactly what New York would
look like under a mayor like Mom Donnie, a city
where protecting your neighbors makes you a criminal while destroying
your city with crime, drugs, and violence makes you a

(04:28):
victim a city where rage and division are the operating
principles of government. That's why this fight matters, because if
we don't stop people like Mom Donnie, New York will
become the role model for the rest of America.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
And we already know what that looks like.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Unhinged rhetoric, unsafe streets, silence to conservatives, and heroes treated
like criminals. We cannot allow that to become the future
of New York or the future of this country. Joining
us now, author of Unmasked, Inside Antique this radical plan
to destroy Democracy, publisher of No Comment on Substackt, and

(05:04):
senior editor of The Post.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Millennial Andy No.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
Thanks for having me Adia.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
President Trump announced that he President Trump announced that he
was designating Antifa as a major terrorist organization and is
pushing for investigations into who is funding them. But it's
my understanding that Antifa is not really an organization per se.
But in ideology, you've investigated antifa, is this true?

Speaker 5 (05:30):
Well, it's both. You can think of it like radical Islam.
Radical Islam is an ideology that motivates individuals to organize
into groups and terrorist groups and cells and networks. Antifa
used that same type of operating mo and the news

(05:51):
from Trump is of course welcomed belated, but I have
a lot of gratitude for it. However, else so I
think expectations need to be set right because I see
a lot of people online are thinking that this is
like a new law or something that then makes membership

(06:12):
of any easise anti food groups illegal. It doesn't do
that the statement. What it does is that he's making
it clear to the public that he's telling his administration
to prioritize treating these anti fund networks as domestic terrorists,
which is what they are. And they do so they
feed off a lie to the public that they aren't

(06:36):
organized in any way that if anybody who's against fascism
is an anti fund member, well, my reporting from going
back to twenty seventeen, twenty sixteen refutes that I've been
the victim of their organized violence. They've killed people. Charlie
Cook was assassinated last week, and it will we'll learn

(06:59):
more about the mode. But there's a lot to be
said about what was written on those rifle cartridges. For one,
and in twenty twenty there was a Trump supporter in
Portland during the bl and Antipha riots who was assassinated
by somebody who left a manifesto saying I am one
hundred percent Antifa. So there's already a history of murders

(07:19):
in addition to the billions of dollars in damage to
economy through organized rioting. So the Trump administrations they will
need a lot of creativity and a lot of perseverance
to push through because they're going to face huge backlash.
You're seeing it now. The media is immediately going out saying.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Ay, that's something I want to ask you. If this
is a disjointed group, how does the Trump's terrorist designation
actually get enforced?

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Good question. So what can be done is at the
federal level. There are rico charges that can be used,
conspiracy charges people don't actually so you know that it's
a federal crime, for example, to issue threats of bodily
injury in interstate communications. There are so many tools at
the disposal right now. You don't need new legislation that

(08:13):
can actually really seriously hamper the organizing efforts of Antifa.
Some of the Antifa groups have ties to International Antifa.
There's actual group called International Antifa, and they operate outside
of the US. When you bring in an international element there,
immediately what can be applied is the anti terrorism legislation

(08:35):
that exists in the post nine elevel world. So there
are tools there. It's going to be hard, you can see,
we can imagine it right now. The ACLU, everyone's going
to line up to try to protect Antifa on the courts.
They're going to try to get injunctions place, arguing that
this is going against the First Amendment and free speech.
It's not free speech to organize violent crime.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Who funds Antifa, great question.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
So the way they organize is they're so decentralized and
diffused that there's not one person at the top who's funding. Again,
I go back to the radical Islam and jihadis model.
There's no single person who's funding Jahadism around the world.
You have many, many funders. I'll just speak to the

(09:27):
strongest evidence I've seen from the twenty twenty rides. You know,
millions of dollars were raised for these bail funds and
legal aid, and that all came through campaigns that were
put online and then people donated anonymously and these were shared,
The links were shared on Twitter and across Reddit social media,

(09:50):
and it was a lot of people contributed money. So
that's one one level you clink at. Another thing is
that there are various registered actual nonprofits that work in
the antifa apparatus. In some of these nonprofits get grant
money from the state. It happens in the state of Oregon.

(10:13):
There are Antifa lego groups legal groups that explicitly exist
to provide free legal aid to violent felony suspects accused
of Antifa crimes. They have received state funding from taxpayers,
so a lot of the funding actually comes from people
who pays taxes from people like you and I. So yeah,

(10:36):
you have to tackle that. And the funding happens like
on PayPal, go fundme, cash app venmill. So there's not
as far as the evidence that I've seen, there's not
a lot of like dark web, crypto that type of funding.
They're so emboldened by their organizing because it's been able
to do it's in the open for so long that

(10:58):
they just use these these apps to get money and
to raise money.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Andy, I want to ask you about doxing because in
the way of Charlie Kirk's assassination, a lot of people
have celebrated his murder.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
What do you think.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
About the effort to dox and publicly shame people You've
been docked and relentlessly attacked for your reporting.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Is this the right thing to do well?

Speaker 5 (11:25):
It depends on how you define docs is doxing. I
don't think it's doxing. When you identify a person who's
posted a video on social media or a post in
writing celebrating an assassination and then calling for other people
like Charlie Cook who think like himly be killed people
like you and I, for example, identifying who that is,

(11:47):
that's not doxing. Doxing should be defined very specifically to
the release of private information such as where somebody lives,
pictures of their house, pictures of their children, pictures of
their spouses. That that is doxing. So people who are
being identified for what they say publicly, that's fair game.

(12:11):
Me as a journalist, I do that all the time
in my reporting and antiphah, oh this person issued this
death threat against this person or against me. I'm going
to find out who it is. I'm going to report
it out. That's not doxing.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Are you seeing any evidence that Charlie Kirk's assassin, Tyler Robinson,
had any ties to Antifa.

Speaker 5 (12:30):
Only in the sense that he referenced some ANTIFA dog whistles,
particularly in the Belichow, which is this old Italian folk
song which has taken on a new meaning in going
back several decades for communists and ANTIFA militants. They sing
the song, they chant the song, they write the slogans,
they create a lot of propaganda around it. And the

(12:52):
lyrics of that song were referenced allegedly on one of
these rightful cartridges. And in twenty nineteen there were an
anti fah gunman in Tacoma, Washington who shot up an
ice facility. People aren't even aware of this, and he
sent out a manifesto to his comrades before the attack,
and he died in the attack. By the way, there

(13:13):
was a shootout with police, and he references the same
Belichow saw in the closing of his manifesto. So that
I think is like the biggest ideological indicator that there
was a left orientation allegedly to this assassination. And then
what we've learned since from the most recent press conference

(13:35):
by the Utah County prosecutor. His mother said that Tyler
Robinson had been moving to the left more recently and
that he was focused a lot on queer and trans issues.
He allegedly, in this chat exchange with the trans Lover,
said that Charlie Kirk was full of hate. He needed
to stop the hate, like this is the language of

(13:56):
the left. So we've been faced with an on loot
of lies from the media and people like Jimmy Kimmel
who are trying to gas light and lie to the
public and say that the gunman was somehow on the right.
Was naga.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Well, you brought up the queer culture, and you know
it's been said that Tyler Robinson was reportedly associated with
trans individuals, including his possibly trans roommate or boyfriend. Do
you think there are any links or similarities similarities with
that of the what it's called trans murder cult.

Speaker 5 (14:33):
So I've been reporting on a phenomenon that I call Trantifa,
which is five years ago. I noticed something was off
in that a lot of the people who were getting
arrested at the twenty twenty riots, and by a lot,
I mean like twenty to thirty percent at night were
trans identifying. When you're talking about the Zizzney and trans

(14:53):
call I see the pictures are going on. That is
a specific trans death cult that was quite small. There
was a a dozen of them. They're linked to eight
Homon size. I've been reporting on them since January. The
story blew open when a border patrol officer on Inauguration
Day was allegedly murdered by one of them. And their
group is international. Most of them are currently in jail

(15:17):
and awaiting trial for a number of charges at the
state level. At the federal level, I found no evidence
to link anything that happened with mister Crook to that
movement because the members of it are currently in custody already.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Well, Andy, you've been doing amazing reporting on Antifa for
a lot of years, and you stay safe out there,
keep doing great work. How can people follow your work
and your reporting if they want to keep up with
what you have to say?

Speaker 5 (15:49):
I'm on substack at nocomment dot com.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Thanks for being on the show, Andy, appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Coming up, Jimmy Kimmel gets the acts from late night television.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Yesterday.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
The Left watch in Horror is their favorite millionaire Jimmy
Kimmel was unceremoniously kicked.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Off the airwaves by ABC.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
In the days leading up to the cancelation, Kimmel had
joined a chorus of left wing voices who were deflecting
blame onto Mega Republicans for assassinating Charlie Kirk.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Take a look.

Speaker 7 (18:43):
We had some new lows over the weekend with the
Magga gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered
Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and
doing everything they can to score political points from it.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
According to Jimmy, it was actually someone Maga who wanted
Kirk dead.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
This is a lie. It doesn't even make sense.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Kimmel broadcasted a complete inversion of reality. But unfortunately for
ABC and its affiliate stations, they agreed to terms when
they receive a license to broadcasts. Kimmel's decision to join
in on the left's big lie was a possible violation
of those terms. The Trump administration's FCC weighed in. Chairman
Brendan Carr threatened an investigation and broadcast license revocation. Shortly

(19:29):
after ABC affiliates shifted their direction. One of the country's
largest broadcasters, next Star, said it wouldn't allow wouldn't air
Kimmel's show. Another ABC affiliate will air a one hour
tribute to Kirk and Lieu of Jimmy Kimmel on Friday,
and even demanded that Kimmel give a donation to Kirk's organization,
turning point USA. How did the left react, Well, you'll

(19:51):
never believe it. They're rallying in defense of free speech
after years of canceling and even imprisoning good people just
because they were concer servative. The left says they don't
deserve to lose their jobs for celebrating and mocking the
brutal murder of Charlie Kirk, who was a decent man
and unwavering patriot.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
But don't be fooled. They are using the free speech.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Argument to disarm you, not because they actually care about
your freedom. In case you need any more evidence, here's
how Kimo himself reacted to Tucker Carlson's twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Three cancelation by Fox News. Watch. Fox News has severed
bow ties.

Speaker 7 (20:28):
With Tucker Carlson after all these years. They are parting ways,
which means he was fired. I mean, that's really what
parting ways means. Talker Tucker couldn't be reached for comment.
He's already on a plane to Moscow to meet with
his manager. But what a shock, I mean, what an
absolutely delightful shock. This is for the most despicable mother

(20:49):
Tuckers ever to appear on American television.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Joining us to discuss more about this is the US
Agency for Global Media Acting CEO Kerry Lake Carrie.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Welcome to the programs.

Speaker 8 (21:01):
Good have you, I'm glad to be here. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Brandon Carrie has felt like for the last fifteen years,
the left has been emboldened to cancel conservatives and ruin
their lives over off color jokes or transgressions against radical
leftist ideology. What do you make of the wave of
people being fired for celebrating Charlie Kirk's murderer.

Speaker 8 (21:22):
We'll always have said it. We have freedom of speech
in this country.

Speaker 9 (21:25):
People can say what they choose to say, but those
words have actions, and you know, when you're celebrating an assassination,
a company may not want to associate with you anymore,
especially if it's a company that is hoping to reach
all kinds of sane people out there who would like
to find enjoyment in comedy.

Speaker 8 (21:43):
People don't find that funny.

Speaker 9 (21:45):
And so, by the way, Colbert and all of these
late night talk show hosts aren't funny anymore. I mean,
they just have They've gotten so angry political that they're
not funny anymore.

Speaker 8 (21:57):
But this has been happening.

Speaker 9 (21:59):
Towards our side, toward the right for a long time,
but not even for saying anything incendiary. I mean, we
saw the absolute effort that went into trying to get
Joe Rogan fired and kicked off of Spotify, to get
Dave Chappelle canceled and fired. They tried to cancel and
fire Roseanne Barr as a matter of fact, they did

(22:21):
cancel her and they did fire her. So this has
been going on for a long time. So hypocritical of
the people who are screaming about these late night talk
show hosts. When they say something as horrendous as celebrating
or lying about an assassination, they think that there's no consequences.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
All right, And ABC hasn't been the only left wing
media outlet that's spread a blatantly false narrative about the
political leanings of Charlie Kirk's assassin. Reuter has called him
a far right gamer, a far right gamer, and refused
to issue a retraction when they were called out for lying.
So does the Trump administration have plans the whole any
other mainstream outlets accountable?

Speaker 9 (23:03):
Well, everything that you've listed, you know, you said ABC News,
you said Reuters. I mean these have been slanted, biased
news operations. I don't even think you can use the
word news. They've just been operations that have been going on.
And I think, you know, with Reuters, one of the
things that news outlets can do, and we did it
at US Agency for Global Media. I immediately canceled their contracts.

(23:26):
Not only is Reuters a biased operation with an agenda.

Speaker 8 (23:29):
I canceled the AP contract.

Speaker 9 (23:31):
I'm not going to have taxpayers spend tens of millions
of dollars of their hard earned money of funding places
like Routers and the AP, so that then you get
news agencies out there who do spend that kind of money,
and then they just repeat the lies of Reuters and
repeat the lies of the AP. That's not how you're
supposed to do news. You're supposed to go out and

(23:54):
work stories on your own and you know, create a product,
a news product that's reputable. And those aren't reputable products.
So I hope that other news outlets will cancel those products,
the Reuters and places like AP. We're seeing that NPR
is losing funding from the government so that taxpayers don't

(24:15):
have to fund that kind of thing.

Speaker 8 (24:17):
If you are successful out in the news.

Speaker 9 (24:19):
World, if you have a good product, you should be
able to survive without getting the government funding you, so
that you can keep your survival afloat.

Speaker 8 (24:31):
Well.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Now, and of course, you know, the left is wasting
no time trying to use this opportunity to label President
Trump a tyrant authoritarian. We have California Governor Gavin Newsom
accusing the President of buying and controlling media platforms, firing commentators,
and canceling shows.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
How do you.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Respond to that and other left wing claims that the
Trump administration is being anti free speech.

Speaker 9 (24:53):
Well, it's just not true. I mean, President Trump didn't
fire Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy Kimmel has no talent, he's not funny,
and he got himself fired. So I don't know why
you're blaming President Trump or why not you, but why
they're blaming President Trump. They're always going to find a
way to turn everything against President Trump. But one thing
I noticed today, Brandon, is when the President and our lovely, wonderful,

(25:17):
intelligent First Lady were in the UK visiting London, the love.

Speaker 8 (25:22):
That was being poured out.

Speaker 9 (25:23):
People were pouring out to just get a glimpse of them.
People love President Trump, People who know President Trump adore him.
Anything that's been said bad about him has just been
a line of creation of the fake news, and it's
about time they're called out. And I'm actually thinking it's
quite humorous that ABC, which folks on the right who

(25:46):
love our country, who are pro America, we dumped ABC
a long time ago. We thought it was garbage, and
now what we're seeing is the left dumping ABC because
of their firing of Jimmy Kimmel. So we may see
some of these media outlets crater on their own. They've
been lying to the masses for decades, especially.

Speaker 8 (26:08):
Over the last decade.

Speaker 9 (26:09):
They've been lying, and they have been telling the public
abject lies and misleading lies and actually hurting, hurting our country.

Speaker 8 (26:19):
So I think it's about time karma's catching up.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Well, Kerry, I was going to ask you if you
think Jimmy Kimmel is funny, but I think that you've
pretty much already covered that topic. I know, maybe it's
time for, you know, a charming, cute conservative to have
a TV show like I don't know, maybe Brandon Strock.
Maybe brand Strock should call in Jimmy Kimmel's slide, just
a suggestion.

Speaker 9 (26:42):
She was just going to say, Brandon, there's a job opening,
and you are funny. You'd be great. I think a
lot of people would be great. I know Roseanne bar
threw her hat in the ring. She said, hey, what
about me? You know, maybe I could take that position,
and I know that she would have a huge following.
There's so many people, truly funny people who are more

(27:03):
I guess.

Speaker 8 (27:04):
They would fall on the right.

Speaker 9 (27:05):
I always I like to not separate us by Democrat
Republican and say we're pro America, we love our country,
we love the people of this country. And then we
have a sub section that's very angry and in many
cases hateful, and they've become anti American, and I think
some of them have just fallen victim to the brainwashing
that has been inflicted upon us by the mainstream media.

(27:28):
And so we want someone who's pro America, who loves
our country and loves the people of this country.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Well, I agree with you, and I think if it
were even if it was somebody who is more aligned
on the right, like you were saying Roseanne or someone else,
I still think that they would be capable of doing
a comedy program that appeals to everybody across the political
aisle without it being an ideological political show, which is
what I think Americans really want right now. So final
question for you, Kerry, how do you think Kimmel's firing

(27:56):
will affect the political commentary genre of media in general?

Speaker 9 (28:01):
Well, you know anybody out there who's doing commentary, and
you know, maybe it is somebody who doesn't really care
for the MAGA movement. I really highly suggest not celebrating
or lying about an assassination. It's about the lowest form
of interaction that you could ever imagine, and no one

(28:24):
likes that.

Speaker 8 (28:25):
No sane individual likes that. So I mean but sadly, if.

Speaker 9 (28:28):
You have to give advice like that to somebody that
they need advice like that, they might be too far gone.
I would suggest getting back to good old fashion comedy,
good old fashion, something that makes people laugh no matter
what their political ideology is, and we've lost that.

Speaker 8 (28:46):
Over the years.

Speaker 9 (28:46):
I think comedy has really taken a hit when it
comes to just being able to find good humor out there.

Speaker 8 (28:54):
And frankly, a lot of.

Speaker 9 (28:56):
The PC push toward, you know, things like DEI and
CRT and overly sensitive about just everything has hurt comedy
as well. So hopefully we can get back to that
sometime soon.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Well, Kerry, we appreciate your thoughts on everything that you
do for us.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
Thanks for being on the show tonight.

Speaker 2 (29:17):

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Earlier this week, President Trump announced that he was filing
a massive fifteen billion dollar defamation lawsuit against The New
York Times, Penguin Random, and a handful of Times journalists.
On truth Social the President railed against the liberal outlet,
calling it one of the worst and most degenerate newspapers
in the history of our country and a mouthpiece for
the radical.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
Left Democrat Party.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
The suit, filed in federal court in Florida, cites a
book and a handful of Times articles that were published
to hurt President Trump and unfairly help Kamala Harris in
the twenty twenty four election. The mainstream media isn't shy
about unfairly attacking the president and running cover for leftist radicalism.
In fact, they've been in advertising their pride in that
fact for more than a decade. But as we've seen

(32:29):
with most recent multimillion dollar victories against ABC News and
then CBS's Sixty Minutes program, President Trump is determined to
hold them accountable and make them pay for being dishonest.
Joining the show to tell us more about the suit
is the chairman of the National Constitution Law Union, John Pierce.

Speaker 1 (32:47):
John. Welcome to the show.

Speaker 10 (32:49):
Hi Brandon, great to see you again.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
John.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Do you think President Trump is justified in suing The
New York Times and Penguin Random House for defamation.

Speaker 10 (33:00):
Oh, I think he's very likely to win this case,
and I'm thrilled that he's bringing this action. You know,
what you have with these left wing radical publications like
The New York Times is a concerted effort, you know,
not to voice their honest, good faith opposition to President
Trump as a political leader or as an individual. But

(33:21):
what you really see is them being the propaganda arm
of the of the Democratic Party, and these organizations that have,
you know, basically attempted to destroy the American way of
life over the past several years in what amounts to
I would say, a color revolution. So not only do
I think he, you know, is in the right in
terms of bringing this defamation claim, but honestly, you know,

(33:42):
if the evidence shows that defendants at The New York
Times or any other publication who peddled the Russia hoax,
conspiracy and all these other false smears against President Trump
and conservatives for so many years, if it turns out
there's evidence that this was part of a conspiracy to
rig the election or to you know, essentially overthrow a

(34:03):
duly elected president, they need to seriously look at criminal
charges the way Douglas Mackie faced criminal charges under the
Biden DJ.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
John.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
The complaint accuses the Times of actual malice calculated to
inflict maximum damage upon President Trump. Do you think that's
an accurate accurate characterization of the relentless flood of articles
attacking President Trump.

Speaker 10 (34:26):
I mean, I you know, of course, I don't know
the actual evidence that will come out, but it certainly
it certainly looks to me like it's highly likely. You know,
a lot of the allegations have to do with with
statements that that President Trump engaged in some kind of
grandiose tax fraud scheme and obtaining you know, funds from

(34:48):
his father. They relate to statements that Mark Burnett basically
created Donald Trump on the Apprentice. You know, a lot
of these things are just blatantly false based on the
public record, and so you know the actual male standard,
as I'm sure you know, essentially, you have to show
that the defendant new statement was false or demonstrated reckless

(35:08):
disregard as to its truth or falsity. And again, well
I don't know the evidence uh here, and you know
that will have to wait for discovery. It would really
surprise me if there's not actual malice on behalf of
the New York Times. I mean again, you know, you
have these publications, and you may know I represented Carter
Page and George Papadopolos in connection with the Russia hoax,

(35:30):
and you have these publications that were winning Pulitzer Prizes
for for basically, you know, in my view, conspiring with
a corrupt FBI and d O J to uh you know,
to to forward these lies in the Russia hoaks to
attempt to bring down President Trump and to destroy the
reputations of my clients. And they you know, this has

(35:51):
got to stop. And I think the political will is
there in the country right now to crush these radical
extremist uh you know, entities on the left. And I
think this is the propaganda arm of it. And I'd
like to see President Trump, you know, go even further.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Well, besides money, are there any non monetary remedies the
court could order, like retractions, takedowns or corrections.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Yeah, I think that.

Speaker 10 (36:18):
You know, in these cases, what you've seen with for example,
ABC and CBS so far is that they have they
have folded pretty quickly.

Speaker 8 (36:27):
You know.

Speaker 10 (36:28):
The New York Times, I think, has put out a
statement sort of purporting that they're going to be you know,
tough and you know, kind of quote unquote stand up
to this. I think that's unlikely. So we'll see how
hard they push it. You know, in a defamation case,
you know, usually the the usually the recompense is going
to be, you know, monetary damages. You know, it can

(36:49):
be hard for a court to order somebody to kind
of take back what they already said. But I suspect
that if the New York Times is smart, that they'll
settle this case pretty quickly.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
All right, John thank you for your thoughts.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
Vigilanti poster child Luigi Mangioni has let off the hook
on two terrorism charges. We have legal analyst Philip Dubay
on deck to unpack it all first right after the break.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
A New York state judge drops two terrorism related murder
charges against Luigi Mangioni, the twenty seven year old accused
of fatally shooting United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson last year.
The judge ruled tuesday that New York state law doesn't
consider something terrorism simply because it was motivated by ideology.
The Manhattan DA's office argued that a terrorism charge was

(39:54):
warranted because mangione murdered a chief executive in Midtown, the
media capital of the world, World da Alvin Bragg said
the well planned execution was intended to cause intimidation and
evoke terror.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
However, Bragg's office.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
Has said they would not appeal and will proceed on
the remaining nine counts. This includes second degree murder, which
carries a twenty five years to life sentence. Mangioni also
still faces federal charges in which prosecutors are seeking the
death penalty. To help us break down the latest in
this case, I'm joined by legal analyst and former court

(40:28):
appointed counsel Philip Dubey. Philip, so give us some clarity
on the judges ruling yesterday in the Luigi Mangioni case.
Were these terrorism charges actually dropped?

Speaker 4 (40:41):
No, And by the way, it was a pretty gutsy
move on the part of a state court judge if
you think about it. As unpopular as the ruling is
and was. Judges are not to be guided by how
the public proceeds or interprets judicial rulings. They are to
rule independently from the bench. Were not dropped? That is

(41:02):
a commonly misplaced, misused term. Dropped means where prosecutors, exercising
their own individual discretion, decide on their own to seek
dismissal of the charges. Oftentimes it's due to insufficiency of evidence,
maybe they have an uncooperative witness, or maybe they realize
in the eleventh hour that that charge is over filed

(41:24):
and they just can't prove it. But here what happened
was the prosecution flexed, they doubled down, and they argued
against the defense motion for dismissal of those charges, and
the court agreed with the defense and found that those
two top charges of first degree premeditated murder in furtherance

(41:45):
of terror and second degree murder in furtherance of terror
cannot stand based on the legal definition of terrorism under
New York law, and that requires a separate analysis. But
he still stands accused of a third murder charge of
intentional murder, and that carries an indeterminate life sentence. So

(42:05):
it's not as if he in the immediate future is
walking away from this. He's just going to go down
on different charges. And by the way, the gun charges
alone carry over forty years. Let's just say he miraculously
beats the murder, he's going to go away hard on
the gun charges.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
Can you tell us a little bit more about the
judges rationale. I understand that it didn't meet the criteria
for being called terrorism, but what was his actual rationale
behind that? Do you think he was correct?

Speaker 4 (42:34):
I do think he was correct, as unpopular as that
ruling is. But when you look at the text of
the Terrorist Statute in New York, it requires that there
be this sort of widespread intimidation, if you will, of
a community at large, or that you are seeking reform
by the government in changing its policies or its regulations.

(42:59):
And what the Core found, and it was based purely
on the testimony presented to the grand jury, because the
court is constrained by what is already in evidence. The
court found that, as presented to the grand jury, all
you really had was this lone sort of radicalized, sophomoric
twenty year old or in his early twenties, seeking to

(43:21):
avenge his anger against one individual. And if all you're
doing is targeting one individual and not an entire population,
it falls outside the reach an ambit of the terrorst Statute.
And again, it doesn't mean he walks. It just means
that you're kind of whittling away at the possible theories
of guilt, but two of them are not going to

(43:42):
be rooted in terrorism, at least under state law.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
Well, so were prosecutors justified in pursuing these terrorism charges
in the first place.

Speaker 4 (43:54):
Look, they truly believed that Luigi Mangioni's message was to
sort of rally against people who are anti healthcare industry,
healthcare claims denials, and sort of get everybody involved in
supporting these types of murders and killings of high ranking CEOs.

(44:17):
And certainly that's not how we seek reform in the
insurance industry or any industry for that matter. What you
do is you march on your legislature, you form a
grassroots campaign for legislative reform or for changes in industry
and particularly insurance industry regulations. And the fact that he
kind of carried out the clarion call, if you will,

(44:40):
of let's get this guy in the name of denying
insurance claims. The prosecution's theory was that he was trying
to target the entire insurance industry, if you will, and
the entire claims industry at large, as opposed to just
one CEO who's heading the entire United Healthcare organism, and

(45:01):
the court disagreed, and the court relied on some well
established case president to show that that evidence was just
simply not presented to the grand jury.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
You know, yesterday we saw Mangioni supporters dancing in the
streets celebrating the judge's decision. This week we also saw
a Clemson University employee say, in a world full of
Charlie Kirks and Brian Thompson's be a Tyler Robinson or
a Luigi Mangioni.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
Does yesterday's ruling hinder deterrence?

Speaker 2 (45:31):
Do you believe to stop future copycat vigilantes and terrorists?

Speaker 3 (45:35):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (45:37):
No, of course not, because let's be clear, the cops
and prosecutors are going to go after killers. If your
message as an assassin is you don't like the message
of your assassination target that you're just going to be
able to dance a jig in the streets, think again,
because it'll be a very short lived dance. If you

(45:58):
do that, lo enforce will be waiting for you, and
they will frog march you into court for your arraignment
and in front of your jury and perhaps during the
penalty phase of the capital trial. So hopefully that is
not the message that is being sent, because whatever sort
of glee you can garner from that is going to
be very short lived.

Speaker 2 (46:22):
Well, thank you very much for your analysis. It was
great talking with you. Coming up, zoraon mom Donnie appears
to be running away in the New York City mayoral polls.
But I'll discuss the plan to save Gotham from the
socialist nightmare with Audit the vote pa Ceo Tony Shop.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
Ever with us than fifty days ago until election day
in New York City, Many across the political spectrum think
it's a foregone conclusion that zoron Mamdanie, the socialist state assemblyman,
will win the mayoral election. Even President Trump mentioned to

(49:12):
the press he thinks Mom Donnie will win. The latest
polls show Mam Donnie with a twenty one point lead
against disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. But here's
the thing. I was told in twenty sixteen that every
poll in the world had Hillary Clinton winning the twenty
sixteen presidential election.

Speaker 1 (49:29):
And we all know how that turned out.

Speaker 2 (49:32):
The polls aren't always accurate, so I recommend not taking
every single one of them as the gospel truth. New
York City can be saved. Mom Donnie can be defeated.
Our willingness to organize and fight can change every assumption
about the outcome of history. That's why I'm not giving up,
and I'm working with people who aren't ready to give
up that fight either.

Speaker 1 (49:54):
Joining us now is the.

Speaker 2 (49:55):
CEO of Audit the Vote PA and my good friend
Tony sh Tony.

Speaker 1 (50:01):
Welcome to the program. Thanks for having me, buddy, so Tony,
you've put up a good fight in the past.

Speaker 2 (50:10):
You've got involved in the world of politics and activism.
Back in twenty twenty when you were fighting for election
integrity in Pennsylvania. But now you've joined forces with me
and walk away to fight for New York City.

Speaker 1 (50:24):
Tell me one, why is this fight important to you?
And two?

Speaker 2 (50:28):
Why do you believe and know that we can defeat
Mom Donnie.

Speaker 4 (50:34):
Good?

Speaker 11 (50:34):
Questions Number one, why is this important to me? Because
I know how bad socialism is. Socialism has never worked
in the thousands of years of recorded human history. In fact,
it's been tried in the United States before, which most
people don't know, in the early sixteen hundred is google
Governor William Bradford, and you'll see the story behind that.
We were almost starving and as soon as they put

(50:55):
in private property rights in free enterprise, within two years
we had ann and of corn so much so we
were exporting and that actually started the process of us
becoming a global superpower, being able to do commerce with
other nations. So socialism has never worked, and I think
it is just scary to think that it could take
over New York City through Zoron, Mom Donnie, and so
I'm excited to be partnered with you on this effort.

(51:18):
I think we can absolutely win because winning elections is
understanding numbers and messaging and we certainly have the numbers down.
I was in New York City with you, and we
had a great town hall last weekend, packed house, where
we actually went through our plan that we have to
touch a million voters. The numbers are all there, we
just need a really strategic effort in good messaging, and

(51:39):
I think we've got this.

Speaker 2 (51:42):
Well, Tony, I agree with you, and this is what
I've been saying to people. So we know we've got
four point seven million registered active voters in New York City,
but typically in these New York City mayoral elections, we're
only seeing like twenty one, twenty two, twenty three percent
turnout in those elections. But when you and I have
been looking at the numbers, what's really interesting is an
incredibly large number of registered Republicans are consistently turning out

(52:07):
to vote. Now I've been saying we've got the eyes
of the nation on this race in New York City.
I think we're going to see a much larger voter
turnout in New York than we typically do.

Speaker 1 (52:18):
I think we can push.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
That voter turnout way up into the perhaps about forty percent,
maybe even higher than that. So can you talk to
people a little bit about what our plan is to
reach people, make sure we get out.

Speaker 1 (52:31):
The vote, and also be communicating with.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
People who are moderate Democrats soft democrats. Know not every
Democrat out there. In fact, i'd say a lot of
them are not on board with the radical socialist agenda.
So talk a little bit about what the plan is
for New York.

Speaker 11 (52:46):
Sure, So when you look at the numbers and break
them down on a granular level, we look at the
last three election cycles of the New York City mayoral
race twenty thirteen, twenty seventeen, and twenty twenty one, Democrats
average to your point, between twenty and twenty five percent turnout,
which is incredibly low. The challenge we're up against is
they out register Republicans in New York six to one. However,

(53:07):
when you look at Republican turnout and turnout is the
same regardless of the actual population size, Republicans turn out
fifty to sixty percent of the time. It's pretty much
it's pretty straight those three election cycles. So if we
can even just boost Democrat turnout against the Democratic socialist candidate,
which your organization walk Away is positioned uniquely to do,

(53:28):
and I think one of the few if not the
only ones in the country that have this message and
can bring this home. Is that we increase the Democrat
turnout to even thirty five percent, which is a ten
percent increase, incredibly doable, and we get Republicans out to vote,
and we consolidate unity around one message. We absolutely have
a shot at pulling this off.

Speaker 2 (53:48):
Well right and I want people to know right now too.
We have I believe I think we've built already what
is probably the largest largest ground game against Mom Donnie.
We have at this point over six hundred volunteers sign up.
I want to get that well over at thousand and
if anyone wants to join our mission, please go to
Walkaway campaign dot com sign up to be a volunteer.

Speaker 1 (54:06):
We'll get you trained and onboarded.

Speaker 2 (54:08):
But basically our plan right now is through text messaging,
phone banking, door knocking, canvassing, and we're also doing amazing
events which I'll get into in just a minute. We
want to be reaching voters all over all five boroughs
of Manhattan, Hispanics, Blacks, white, gen Z, a lot of
young voters. We're also going to be going into colleges
in New York. But can you talk pretty briefly about

(54:29):
the different types of voters we're going to reach and
how we're going to reach them.

Speaker 11 (54:33):
Yeah, absolutely, so it is historically the numbers show us
that Blacks and Hispanics historically speaking, are not liking the
Democratic Socialist message that Zoron Mom Donnie is putting out.
So that's going to be a huge segment in a target.
And at your town hall, we had a couple of
Latino ladies that really want to take on the Hispanic
community in all five borroughs. And to your point, we're
going to build canvassing teams that are going to be

(54:53):
going out together on the weekends between now and election day.
And we have remote volunteers, which I think that number
actually have got a volunteer zoom call have scheduled at
seven o'clock with all the walk away volunteers to get
this not even kicked off. We kicked it off last
weekend to we get it moving further. We've got volunteers
all over in the nation, not just in New York
City that are going to be sending text messages to

(55:15):
Democrat voters that voted in twenty twenty but didn't vote
in twenty twenty four because that's a good indication to
us that they're open. If they voted for Biden but
they stayed home for Kamala, they are likely to not
be on board with Mom Donnie. So we're going to
be reaching those people via phone calls, postcards, text messages,
and a kick butt ground game of canvassing on weekends
and evenings. And we invite everybody to join us that

(55:38):
has a couple of All you have to have is
a couple extra hours a week and we can put
you to work and it'll.

Speaker 5 (55:42):
Be effective.

Speaker 2 (55:45):
Exactly right, Thank you, Tony. And also I'll let people
know quickly too. We're also doing rallies between now and
election day. The next rally that we'll be doing against
Democratic social Socialism will be in Washington Square Park on Sunday,
September twenty eighth, kicking off around twelve o'clock.

Speaker 1 (55:59):
Shop and join us.

Speaker 2 (56:00):
If you want any more information or if you want
to support this mission to defeat Mom Donnie and save
New York City, please everybody out there, go to Walkaway.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
Campaign dot com.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
There you can sign up to volunteer, you can make
a donation, or you can find out more about these
great events we're doing all over the city. Come to
Washington Square Park on September twenty eighth. Tony, thank you
for joining me tonight on the program.

Speaker 11 (56:20):
Thanks for having me. It's my pleasure.

Speaker 2 (56:26):
Well that's all the time we have, Matt Gates. We'll
be back tomorrow at nine o'clock Eastern. You can follow
me on X at Brandon Straka and stay to stay
right here the Fine Point where Chanelle Rhon is up next.
