Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tonight we discussed the challenges that face the conservative movement
in the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination. Plus we have
Congressman Marlon Stutsman to talk about Syrian President Al Shara's
speech at the United Nations today. Also the news of
an incoming indictment for former FBI Director James Comey and
the former National Security Advisor John Bolton. Nobody deserves it more. Also,

(00:21):
Mike Ben's is going to join us to discuss that.
And Trump's Golden Age economy is on the upswing. We've
got an economist here to break it all down. It's
all next on the Matt Gates Show. Let's do this
shaking up Washington, d C. We're breaking the fever.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Do you ever watch this guy on television.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
It's like a machine.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
He's great.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Matt Gates. We continue to mourn the loss of conservative icon,
my friend Charlie Kirk. We can spend a lot of
time analyzing the work Charlie was doing, and indeed we will.
The causes he cared about the advocacy on key issues
that he engaged on publicly and privately. One piece of
reporting that caught our attention regarding some of the pressure's

(01:02):
turning point and Charliekirk were facing in the weeks leading
up to his murder by Tyler Robinson are also quite significant.
Max Blumenthal's Gray Zone piece argues that Charlie Kirk was
increasingly at odds with the pro Israel donor establishment, and
that this tension may have contributed to mounting pressure before
his death. A friend of Kirk told Grey Zone that
Kirk had rejected an offer from VB Netnyahu to arrange

(01:25):
a large pro Israel funding apparatus for his organization, and
that he'd grown frightened by private pressure from pro Israel forces.
Billionaire Bill Ackman is alleged to have convened a hostile
intervention in the Hamptons during which pro Israel advocates reportedly
demanded Kirk rescind a speaking invitation to Tucker Carlson and
submit to influence. Mister Ackman has denied this claim, and

(01:47):
others who've attended these functions have had varying accounts. In
the final days before his death, Robert Shillman, a top
pro Israel donor to Kirk's Turning Port organization, is said
to have pulled funding amid escalating disagreements over Kirk's views
regarding the US Israel relationship. The article frames Kirk's trajectory
as a kind of break from donor control. He had

(02:08):
allowed critics of Israel on his platforms, including myself. He
had pushed back against suppressing descent, and balked at the
overt pressure. Blumenthal does not present a definitive piece of
proof tying Kirk's death to any type of donor pressure,
and to be clear, we aren't either. We are covering
this story not as an explanation for Charlie Kirk's death,

(02:28):
but as a forecast for the challenges that remain for
the conservative movement in dealing with constituencies that both criticize
some of the decisions of the net Yahoo government and
others who are slavishly loyal to Israel. Over America, Kurt
Mills leads the American Conservative magazine. He said he wants
a divorce from the Israel first component of the American right.

(02:50):
I think this should be a beautiful divorce.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
I don't think the US would be funding Israel's military,
and I don't think Israel should be funding the America's military.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Joining US now. Editor for The Gray Zone, Max Blumenthal,
Max your peace on this pressure campaign that you talk
about directed at Charlie Kirk has a lot of attention. First,
maybe start by telling me what got you interested in
this subject and reporting on these moments, these final moments
in the weeks before Charlie was murdered.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Well, I've been reporting on Israel Palestine for fifteen years.
I've covered it from the ground, including inside the Gaza
Strip under Israeli bombing, and from Washington under Israeli influence
and for going off script.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
As an American Jew, I've been.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Under heavy attack from the same forces that started to
put pressure and even attack Charlie Kirk towards the end
of his life. So this is a compelling story for me,
something I'd been following really closely after the Student Action
Summit last July in Tampa, which was an electrifying event
where Charlie Kirk opened up the state for critics of

(04:02):
Israel inside the conservative grassroots, like Tucker Carlson. Comic Dave Smith,
who like me, is a Jewish anti Zionist, was debating
the issue on stage and the crowd really loved it.
The conservative grassroots is undergoing a real shift on this
issue and Charlie Kirk had to bridge the divide between

(04:23):
the grassroots of conservatives under thirty and the donor class
which had basically launched his career, who were substantially pro
Israel kind. Some of them were basically just Israel first
billionaires who only cared about this one issue. And he
realized in the months and weeks before his horrifying killing

(04:46):
that he couldn't bridge this divide anymore. And as I
reported in the third of my investigative pieces about this tension,
in this conflict, he lost his biggest donor, Robert Shillman,
uh Israel first billionaire who funds the is the illegal
settlement enterprise in the West Bank, who has funded the

(05:07):
career of Laura Lumer, who's become this pro Israel enforcer
around the Trump administration.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
He just bailed out.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Of TPUSA, one of the biggest donors, was about to
have a plaque commemorating his sponsorship of TPUSA put up
at their offices in Phoenix. And at the same time,
on a daily basis, Charlie Kirk was basically being managed,
often against his will, by a small coterie of pro

(05:34):
Israel activists closely connected to Benjamin Netanya who as well
as Benjamin Netanyah who himself, and I learned from a
longtime friend of Charlie Kirk that Charlie Kirk actually couldn't
stand Netaya, who found him to be a bully, manipulative,
and was just sick of his constant demands. And so,

(05:55):
you know, I put everything I knew out there, and
a lot of it was corroborated by Charlie Kirk's public statements,
and it's since been corroborated by everyone from Charlie Kirk's
producer Andrew Covit to jd Vance, the Vice President, who
corroborated what I reported. That Charlie Kirk actually went into

(06:15):
the White House in June, something no one else would do,
into the Oval office and pressed Donald Trump not to
bomb Iran, something the conservative grassroots was opposed to bombing
a powerful country on behalf of another foreign nation that
started a war that it could not end. So all
of this information is now out there, and it is

(06:38):
severely complicated Benjamin Netanyahu's very cynical attempt to claim Charlie
Kirk's legacy as his own.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
It does seem weird that Netta Yahu was inserting himself
into this a great deal in just the hours and
days following Charlie's murder, Max, I can confirm a number
of if they I had no idea what happen in the Hamptons.
I wasn't there. I can only read about that. But
I can confirm for you, as Charlie's friend, as someone
who spoke at almost every single Turning Point event, that

(07:09):
Charlie felt great strain and great pressure as a consequence
of this divide happening in the Republican Party. And he's
got members of Turning Point or very pro Israel. But
more and more we're starting to ask reasonable questions about
the US Israel relationship and whether it was Charlie or
Andrew or a number of the other people who I'm
sure you've been following. This was very prescient, this was

(07:33):
very real, and so I guess I'm wondering what in
your reporting reveals how and why Charlie really resisted that pressure,
because I think some lesser beings might have folded to it,
succumb to it. But Charlie Kirk said, now we're still
putting Tucker Carlson on the stage, We're still inviting Matt
Gates and putting him on the stage. How did that

(07:54):
decision calculus occur?

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Yeah, we're still putting Marjorie Taylor Green on stage, who
was due to speak at America Fest in December. Who
is I think the leading critic of Israel and Congress period,
more outspoken than you know figures on the left like AOC.
So Charlie Kirk wasn't running away from these figures like
others who were under the control of pro Israel influence

(08:18):
in the GOPR, Mike Johnson, for example. I mean he
because he had to answer to the grassroots. So one
scene that I detailed in relation to this Hampton's Influencer Summit,
which was convened partly by israel first billionaire named Bill Ackman,

(08:40):
who is advancing Netanyahu's agenda inside the United States, took place.
I mean, this was like a secret summit that no
one was supposed to know about, where young influencers were
basically being conditioned, groomed, and essentially bought to create impressions
in social media videos for Netta Yahu's agenda and then

(09:03):
were sent off on propaganda trips to Israel, and Charlie
Kirk was sort of the co host of this, but
he was clearly uncomfortable, and there was one session where
I was told by an attendee they were debating what
would be permissible to say on social media, and Charlie
Kirk openly asked, would it be would I be allowed
to tweet that Netta Yahu should resign? And a pro

(09:25):
Israel activist from the UK, Natasha Hausdorff, who is a
fanatical lawyer whose job is basically to get anyone who
protests Israel inside the UK fired from their jobs and jailed,
started screaming at him, and he pushed back and said,
you know, what you're doing is moral blackmail. That's what

(09:47):
was described to me by attendees. But we also know
from his longtime friend that Charlie Kirk refused Netta Yaho's
offer for a trip to Israel two weeks before his death,
and there was also an apparent funding offer. And a
lot of people are getting this wrong, but this is

(10:08):
what I was told by a longtime friend and other associates.
Was that Netinna who proposed that he would go to
his coterie of millionaires and billionaires inside the United States,
basically Israel's cutouts who are Americans and they would fund
TPUSA to the hilt if Charlie Kirk agreed to fall
back into line, and he resisted that, and so I

(10:30):
think you know that showed that he really was siding
increasingly with the conservative grassroots and undergoing shift of his own.
As all of us wake up every day, if you're
following accounts from the Gaza strip or just following journalists,
you're seeing other people's children being shredded, their neighborhoods being leveled,
a genocide being committed. And it doesn't matter if you're

(10:51):
on the left or you're on the right, if you're
pro life, that just horrifies you. And I think that
was affecting him as well. And then you have Netta
Nyaho come out almost moments after his death, while his
body is still warm, and attempt to claim his legacy.
And then before a suspect is even caught, Netayah, who

(11:11):
blames Islam because he's trying to shift the debate in
Israel's favor, and that cynicism is what led many people.
And I never said this, I never put this on
the table. I explicitly wrote in my piece there is
no evidence of an Israeli role, but it led many
people to suspect that if he's trying to weaponize and

(11:32):
exploit this horrifying killing so much when there was all
this tension. I mean, this is one of the most
prolific global assassins on the world stage in Netanyahu, maybe
he is hiding something here.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
What do you think that is?

Speaker 4 (11:50):
I mean, Nettagna, I've never seen a foreign leader come
out not once but twice second time on his own
personal prime ministry real social media channel and declare that
he had not assassinated an American public figure.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
And that's what NETANYAHUO.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Did with Charlie Kirk. It just looked very bizarre, and
I think it fed into the unsubstantiated theories about an
Israeli role.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
But we know he did have that letter, Max, like,
he did have that met letter right on his fingertips
to wave around almost like a prop And that seemed
so reductive to me. All that Charlie had contributed to life,
to his family, to faith, to the movement, and here
Netsan YAHUO was trying to reduce Charlie Kirk to this
one letter that that seemed a bit inconsistent with this

(12:42):
broader move that Charlie was a part of to ask questions,
not be anti Israel, certainly, but to ask questions of
the netsan Yao government when they were doing things that
were really unpopular, like ethnic cleansing and gaza Where do
we go from here? Max? I mean one of the
things that's that was kind of interesting to me as
I read your piece, I'm thinking, like, what did these

(13:03):
guys think if they just got Charlie Kirk and twelve
influencers to like wear a yamakas and wrap themselves in
the Israeli flag, that the millions of Americans who are
asking reasonable questions were all of a sudden going to
like fall in line behind them. Like to me, it
seems as though despite the best efforts of nets and Yahoo,
despite the best efforts of his puppets who are in

(13:25):
the United States and who and who have resources to
make contributions and hold them over the heads of organizations, like,
there's nothing stopping the fact that young people in this
country right and left are asking questions about the US
Israel relationship and how it benefits them. Like do you
think that a bunch of people under the age of
thirty are gonna turn forty or fifty and be like,

(13:46):
you know what I was wrong? Actually we should fund
the entire IDF.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
Yeah, And first of all, I would, you know, reiterate
the demand for Netan Yahu to release that full letter,
which he hasn't done. Release the letter and let us know.
And what I think the American people want, whether they're
on the right or on the left, is transparency. And
they're not getting transparency about what's happening with APAC and
our representatives because APAC is not registered as a foreign agent,

(14:16):
even though it's representing a foreign government. APAC was actually
founded with money from Israel's Jewish agency, channeled through something
called the American Zionist Committee, and then once it fell
under investigation in the Senate under Senator Fulbright's investigation, they
just changed the name to APAC. So we want transparency.

(14:38):
We need to know about Israeli money flowing into conservative organizations,
media organizations, lobbying firms. We have never faced a foreign
meddling operation like the one that we face from Israel.
It's because Americans are starting to wake up and realize
that this relationship not only doesn't benefit us, but is

(15:02):
exacting horror on people across the region. And the reason
that Netanyahu is so desperate to claim Charlie Kirk's legacy.
Was he recognized how Charlie Kirk loomed large over the
whole spirit of the conservative movement. And it's within that
movement where you find so many young men who want
to enlist and sign up and fight for their country.

(15:24):
You don't really find that on the left. And he
needs those young men, those young mostly Christian men, to
go and fight and die for his self proclaimed Jewish
state as it attempts to wage war on Iran, and
a US ground war with Iran would cost tens of
thousands of lives. And so we need to put this

(15:44):
in perspective here, whether you're on the right or you're
on the left, you need to question whether this so
called special relationship actually benefits America. And I think we
all want to put America first, even if we disagree
about the political agenda.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Sure well, your reporting on this has everyone talking, no doubt.
I encourage folks to check it out at the Gray Zone.
Max Bluenthal, thanks as always for your journalism and for
joining us. Thanks a lot, Matt, and coming up, there
is a lot of action in the UN General Assembly.
The President of Syria gave a speech today. Representative Marlon
Stutsman has actually been to Syria, He's met with the

leader and he's got reaction.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Syria It's the ongoing quagmire of the Middle East. The
story that best explains what a mess Syria is details
how during the Obama administration, forces funded by the Pentagon
were literally fighting forces that were funded by the CIA.
We should have known that by Secretary of Defense Lloyd
Austin was a fool based on his own service in Syria.

(19:04):
He led Obama's effort to train and equip local Syrian
fighters to battle against assad Isis al Qaeda, each other.
Who even knows at this point The point is, after
spending millions of your dollars, the results were terrible and embarrassing.

Speaker 6 (19:20):
Can you tell us what the total number of trained
fighters remains.

Speaker 7 (19:27):
It's a small number, and the ones that are in
the fight is.

Speaker 6 (19:35):
We're talking four.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Or five, four or five people, and like tens of
millions of dollars were spent on this, and if only
four or five remain, you should definitely know whether it's
four or five. The Assad regime did ultimately fall. The
current president of Syria is a former al Qaeda fighter.
The US previously had a bounty on his head something
like twenty million dollars. President Trump's trips to the Middle

(19:59):
East this year was historic and successful. He mentioned a
very different path from Obama. Rather than wondering which Syrians
we could give money to to fight other Syrians, Trump
is choosing engagement.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
And my administration has already taken the first steps toward
restoring normal relations between the United States and Syria for
the first.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Time in more than a decade.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
I will be ordering the cessation of sanctions.

Speaker 8 (20:26):
Against Syria in order to give them a chance at breakers.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Several Republican Congressmen agree with President Trump. Also this year
Representative Marlon Stutzman and Representative Corey Mills made an unofficial
trip to Damascus. It was the first trip of US
lawmakers to the country since the fall of Assad. They
met with the new president, discussed US sanctions, Iron's role,
and the possibility of re establishing normalized relations. During the visit,

(20:53):
Stutsman toured war damaged parts of Damascus. He visited the
famed prison that was noted for abuse under the Assad regime,
and he met a number of religious and Christian community leaders.
Stuft's been publicly argued for lifting or suspending sanctions on Syria,
framing it as an opportunity for economic recovery and a
chance for the United States to engage diplomatically. Republican Congressman

(21:16):
Marlin Steltzman joins US Now, Congressman, I want to get
your reaction to the Syrian president's remarks at Unga, But
first you've actually been to Syria. You went with Congressman
Corey Mills. What led to the trip and what did
you learn? Yeah, Matt, great to be with you.

Speaker 9 (21:30):
But I have quite a few Syrian American constituents and
friends that have lived here in Indiana and Chicago and
have been talking with them for quite some time about
their experience and their family life in Syria, and of
course it being on the northern border of Israel. If
we have a stable Syria and Syria that's secure for

(21:51):
the Syrian people, that's good for Israel, it's good for
the Middle East. And so when Helshara became the president
of Syria after Assad was pushed out out, they asked
if I'd be willing to go meet the new president
and the new government, and I told them that I'd
be willing to do that, and so it was a
very it was a really good trip. We were there
for two nights, as you showed me. We met with

(22:14):
al Shara and also got to go up to Sinaia,
which is a prison where thousands and thousands of people
were murdered just because of political assassinations and political differences
with Asad. But you know, with al Shara, I think
time will tell. That's the big position that that's the
position I'm holding. And the Syrian people are desperate, They're

(22:36):
needing some sort of ability to restart and to rebuild
their country. And I hope that al Shara follows through
on what he says. It all sounds really good, but
at the end of the day, actions speak louder than words.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
I don't think I've ever met in Al Qaeda. Was
it awkward? Like being in the same presence of someone who,
like we had an eight figure bounty on their head
not all that long ago.

Speaker 9 (23:00):
It is a little nerving, Matt. You know, people ask me,
what's it like. I've never met someone who is on
our terrorist list. But you know what, he's forty two
years old. He was very genuine, he was very sincere.
He had a vision and that's one of the things
that I appreciate it. I asked him about the relationship
with Israel. He said he was open to the Abraham Accords.

(23:21):
He's backed off of that a little bit publicly, but
I truly want to believe that he's going to do
everything that he says. But again, you know, we've seen
this before, and that's why I think President Trump's doing
the right thing by giving them a chance, giving him
a chance. I watched his speech at the U end.
You know, he blamed Israel, but I know he's got

(23:42):
a lot of internal forces too. He's avoided as several
assassination attempts internally with people that are more fundamentalists than
he is. I think the big indicators to watch are
the curriculum that they use in their schools in Syria
and also religious freedom because Seria's very diverse. We have
a lot of Christian friends there, Drew's friends, the Kurds,

(24:03):
and I know that Ambassador Barrick is working very hard
to bring these people together to really stabilize Syria, which
in the long run would be good for the Syrian
people but also the region.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
It's such a smart point about the pedagogy that's being
delivered to young people, because that really does define the future.
What should be US policy towards Syria in your mind, Well.

Speaker 9 (24:24):
I think that, you know, lifting the sanctions is the
right thing to do at this point, but also having
the ability to snap them back on if al Shara
and his government go sideways, you know, they can. The
steps that they're taking seem to be, you know, consistent
with what he told me in April. But there was

(24:44):
a Drew's and the Christians were attacked down in Sedanaya,
and there's a real problem down there that we're watching
very closely. I know that we were able to relay
that to Ambassador Barrick, he's been addressing it. It sounds
like there's a firts to get humanitarian aid into Senaia,
get their water turned back on. We don't know all

(25:07):
of the details, but you know, what al Shara said
at the UN was that there's going to be justice
served for those who attacked other Syrians. And so if
he follows through with that, I think those are great indicators.
But at the same time, his history is very checkered,
and so we have to keep a close eye. But
I think for the Syrian people, we have to give
them a chance.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
I was hardened to see that you and Congressman Mills
met with some of the Christians and other religious minorities
during your time in Syria. What feedback did you get
from them? And are Christians still being tormented and killed
in the country.

Speaker 9 (25:41):
Well, the Christians that we spoke with are not, and
they were straight north of Damascus and they they're desperate
for freedom, They're desperate for the ability to rebuild their lives.
They were right in the same town as Sedanaia, which
is Asad's prison where thousands were tortured and killed there

(26:02):
as a you know, political assassinations. But but I do
you know, talking with missionary friends in the southeast around Sedanaya,
especially back in July and first part of August, it
was very bad.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
I mean, this is the same.

Speaker 9 (26:16):
Evil that attacked Israel out of Gaza back in October
of twenty three, and so there is there's a lot
of work to do. We know, we're also suspicious that
these foreign fighters that are in the region, Iran, other countries,
you know, want to see disruptions in Syria because they
want an unstable Syria where that way, that way they

(26:37):
have a landing pad to attack Israel from and create disruptions.
So he has his work cut out, there's no doubt.
But you know, my hope is is that he pulls
together a very diverse government, one that respects all religions there,
all of the different people groups there. His best decision

(26:58):
that he could make is to actually form alliance with
the Kurds with their military prowess.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
That would be great move on his part. Well, however,
it gets better. I don't think it will without engagement,
which is why I think the work that you and
Congressman Mills did was so important. Before I let you go, Congressman,
are we headed for a shutdown, and if so, what's
it going to look like.

Speaker 9 (27:18):
Well, I think Schumer is in a box, you know,
unless he's willing to do, you know, the same move
that he did earlier this year. You know what I
keep repeating, and I'm sure it drives Democrats mad that
have Trump de arrangement syndrome, is that if Schumer shuts
the government down, Trump is more powerful, and they're they're

(27:40):
going to have to make that decision. You know, they're
not willing to vote on a cloture vote to let
us pass budget bills, appropriations bills. So you know, I
think that this is the best situation for them if
they can actually find a way to get to it.
But they're so afraid of they're far left, and you know,
Schumer's afraid that AOC is going to run against him
in a Senate primary, which she'd probably win.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
But they're in a real spot.

Speaker 9 (28:05):
I think that they probably will shut the government down.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
As my bet, Wow that you've warned them. You've warned it.
When they shut the government down and then they complain
about the fact they've made Trump stronger, we can say
Congressman Steltzman told them so. Congressman, thanks for joining us.
We look forward to checking back in with you soon.

Speaker 9 (28:20):
Thanks Matt, great to see you.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
And coming up is former FBI director James Comy on
the eve of indictment. Mike Bens is here to tell
us all about the case and whether or not charges
or forthcoming. Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 5 (28:36):
Hey, did you know that One America News Network has
launched a twenty four to seven Twitter like social media replacement.
We're calling it free Talk forty five. So why is
it branded free Talk forty five? Well, free talk because
you will not be censored for expressing your opinion there,
and forty five because forty five is.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
A really lucky number.

Speaker 5 (28:59):
So join us at free Talk forty five and express

(29:43):
question for you. What does Roku TV, Apple TV, and
Amazon fireTV all have in common? The answer is that

Speaker 8 (30:48):
Gobi's a bad person. He's a sick person. I think
he's a sick guy. Actually, he did terrible things at
the FBI. But I don't know. I have no idea
what's going to happen.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
Is former FBI Director James Comy really going to be
criminally charged for lying to Congress? He totally should be
federal prosecutors are reportedly preparing to indict former FBI director
James Comy in the Eastern District of Virginia. The alleged
offense is that he lied to Congress during his twenty
twenty testimony about the Russia hoax. The statute of limitations
for that potential charge is about to expire, making timing critical.

(31:23):
I was one of the lawmakers who took this testimony
from Comy. It was evident to me at the time
he was lying. Newly appointed US Attorney for that district,
Lindsay Halligan is said to be planning to present evidence
to a grand jury. Even with an indictment, conviction is
not guaranteed. Proof beyond a reasonable doubt is needed. That
could be hard anywhere close to Washington, DC. Joining us

(31:45):
now is our audience's very favorite guest. He's the executive
director for the Foundation for Freedom Online. Mike Benz, So, Mike,
how are you spending your Comy Bolton indictment watch time?

Speaker 10 (31:57):
Eagerly awaiting there's a tall tank here in a DC
jury pool, although I'm looking forward to seeing the response
from Antifa. The uh you know, a a cab folks,
The all cops are bastards kill the pigs. As the
head of the federal police is about to be indicted,

(32:17):
I have a weird feeling ANTIFA is suddenly going to
come out as pro FBI the moment this happens. But
there's frankly, no more deserving figure in Washington, or at
least I would put this in my you know, final
four of my NCAA bracket for most criminal swamp creatures
out there right now. But James Comy said it himself,

(32:39):
we have to enforce perjury laws with an iron fist,
and there's no there's no what was it extreme recklessness
changing up the standards to wiggle out of this one.
He was nailed dead to rights for perjury. All it'll
take is a jury who simply sees things clearly, rather
than the politicized ones we saw during the January sixth trials.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
So there is a theory that, well, if you aren't
very certain you're going to get a conviction, you shouldn't
even bring the case. I don't even think we're in
that chapter of the book anymore. Like if some DC
jury wants to say that Jim Comey's lies aren't Jim
Comey's lies, let that be on them. But I think
this administration does have an obligation to hold these people
to account, and it does look like they're taking it

(33:23):
quite seriously as it relates to the substance of the perjury.
Does it or all go back to the origin and
what was going on on December eighth, December ninth of
twenty sixteen when Barack Obama is assembling this group of
people to try to go and construct intelligence to really
hamper the Trump presidency.

Speaker 10 (33:44):
Exactly right, the idea that you could just openly lie
to Congress about the completely debunked p dossier, the Steele
dossier not being included in the intelligence assessment, and it
takes us finding out in a classified annex that was
hidden for US from US for nine years. Nine years
that annex was hidden from the American people about what

(34:06):
Comy and Brennan knew when they knew it, and so
Comy I think, presumed that that thing would stay classified
until the day that the Statute of Limitations ran out,
and that the BLOB had enough control over the Justice
Department that they could slow walk things into a free
ticket to Bermuda, that they would essentially be able to
just kind of spend their lives on the beach after

(34:29):
committing all of these crimes. Well, those who throw stones,
you know, should not live in glass houses. And if
you're going to arrest the President of the United States,
his accountants, his lawyers, even his valet, you better be
clean as a whistle. And James Comy is about the
dirtiest cop on the block.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
Do you think this will have an antiseptic effect going
forward on others who want to misuse the criminal process
for political purposes.

Speaker 10 (34:56):
Absolutely. We saw that in the censorship space as well.
The fact is is the censorship industry became a growth
industry in for almost eight years straight because there was
no accountability. And the moment that folks started getting in trouble,
the moment that things were scandalized, the moment lawsuits were
brought and people had to pay for their own attorneys,

(35:17):
the moment that they were cut off from their institutions
like the Stanford Airnet Observatory, or that SISA faced lawsuits
and the State Department based lawsuits, USA based lawsuits, it
became a bad business to be in. Even though in
that case we didn't see arrest, what we saw was
that the money dried up because people could not bet
on the shore thing, and people just i think, assumed

(35:39):
that this administration would simply succumb to this so called
democracy blob who can simply wave a magic wand and
say it's authoritarian to arrest or political opponents, while they
arrested dozens nineteen of their political opponents in a single
case alone. By the way, for the alternate electors one
the same scheme cooked up in twenty twenty and openly

(36:02):
tried in the twenty sixteen election. But if they want
to set these as the rules of the road for
what democratic norms and accountability looks like, well, welcome to
your own party. You started it, will finish it.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
We cannot leave this segment without giving John Bolton a
little treatment, because he would also fill out that final
four of really bad swamp creatures. What Bolton has hired.
Hunter Biden's lawyer, Abby Loll. Abby Lol has made statements
that all the classified documents that Bolton possessed had been declassified.
They were old. What are you watching for in the

(36:39):
Bolton indictment watch?

Speaker 10 (36:40):
I'm watching that for people being put through the process.
I remember with crystal clarity what it was like when
Robert Hurr found that President Biden had possessed classified documents
at a really difficult political moment for them, because President
Trump was under indictment, had been arrested, had to spend
millions of dollars being put through the process of the

(37:02):
classified evidence case. And then it turned out, oopsie POOPSI
the president, Joe Biden, his own in charge of that
own justice department, in the chain of command, effectively was
guilty of the same crime, the same crime alleged. And
I'm not even saying Trump was guilty, but what the
special prosecutor found was that he had committed mishandling of

(37:24):
classified evidence. But then he put at the addendum at
the end of that memo that they should not bring
prosecution because a DC jury pool would look at this genteel,
senile president and it would be unlikely they would convict
someone so late in life to spend the rest of
his days in prison. And so Joe Biden did not
have to have a mugshot, Joe Biden did not have

(37:46):
to spend millions of dollars on lawyers, Joe Biden did
not have to say, oh, he was an indicted president.
Let the process of the accountability be an example to
others that even if you get your little prefer DC
jury pool, you will be put through this process and
there will be pain in the process of committing crimes,

(38:06):
whether you get away with them or not.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
Pain is coming, and I think the Statute of Limitations
looms large here. It's why we're hearing about Comy and
Bolton now. But I think you're going to be able
to fill out the rest of your final four with
like a Brennan a Clapper. I don't know that the
indictments are too far behind for those folks, just a
different structure on the Statute of Limitations. Mike Ben's executive
director for the Foundation for Freedom Online. As soon as

(38:31):
these indictments hit, whatever I'm doing, I'm going to the
Mike Ben's stream because I know that's where I'll get
all the information. Thanks for joining, my friend. Thanks Matt,
I'm coming coming up. The troupe economy is roaring. We've

Speaker 3 (40:58):
Today.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
We have good news tonight. We share the latest update
on the state of America's Golden Age economy. Tonight, the
Bureau of Economic Analysis revised second quarter GDP growth estimates
upwards to three point eight percent growth. This is now
the third straight quarter of an upward revision from the
original estimate of three percent. This news comes after a

(41:26):
more than sluggish quarter, one that showed the impact of
the Biden economy and how much we had to do
to get out of it. Did the economy get this
much better in three months or was this really part
of the plan? Naturally, a total orientation of the economy
from Wall Street to Main Street comes with a little
pain at first. I think President Trump called it a surgery,
but the latest numbers confirm that the plan is paying off,

(41:49):
and that the Pannikins were indeed wrong. Blue Collar wage
growth is its fastest in more than half a century.
Foreign corporate investment has reached more than two trillion dollars,
with another three trillion on the way. That's hundreds of
thousands of high paying jobs for blue collar workers. The
stock market is reaching unprecedented highs, and there is the

(42:09):
bide inflation fever that seems to have broken as prices
are starting to normalize. We could fill the whole hour
reading off indicators of this data, but we think you
get the point. Investors and workers alike are winning in
the Trump economy. Usually things like GDP growth or the
stock market aren't the most reliable indicators of how the
forgotten men and women of America are doing. But under

(42:30):
President Trump, they appear to be one and the same
and everyone is doing much better. For a closer look,
I'm joined by Phil Kirpin. He's the president of American
Commitment and principle at Unleashed Prosperity. So Phil, what are
you seeing in this roaring Trump economy?

Speaker 6 (42:45):
Well, we got a pretty amazing revision to second quarter GDP.
The final number, the final print for second quarter GDP
is three point eight percent of economic growth. So we've
now got a hotter economy, faster than I think anyone
thought possible, and it's pretty incredible. I think, especially with
the employment numbers that have been revised down and the
GDP numbers being revised up, means we're seeing productivity boom

(43:08):
that previously wasn't caught in the numbers.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
What sectors are creating that productivity boom?

Speaker 6 (43:14):
Good question, you know. The big surprise in this revision
today was actually the consumer. Consumer spending was sharper, rose
more robustly than anyone expected. We saw decline in the
federal government spending, which is actually really good. We're seeing
a reorientation of the economy back towards the private sector.
But I haven't been able to really dig deep into

(43:36):
the subsector analysis, but generally the consumer was very strong.

Speaker 1 (43:39):
We had been told that we might have three percent
annualized growth. I mean, I'm old enough to remember the
Obama years when they told us we should love one
point nine percent, that the days of three percent were over.
Now we're looking at a three point eight percent number annualized.
What do you think the top limit is that this
could get to.

Speaker 6 (43:58):
Well, we'll see. I mean, one of the tricky things
is that there was a big surge of imports in
the second quarter to try to get ahead of the tariffs,
and so some of the three point eight percent may
have been a temporary effect of that. The third quarter
will really, I think, tell us a better sense of
where the economy's headed. But if we get three percent
plus again for this third quarter, that's just ending now.
I think it's going to be a really good indicator

(44:19):
that the Trump economy can be on a permanent three
percent plus growth track. And you're right, everyone told us
that was impossible. We've got CBO forecasts that basically say
lived with one point six one point seven percent growth forever,
and in the Trump era we may be proving them wrong.
So we've certainly done that with this second quarter number.

Speaker 1 (44:35):
When you talk about consumer spending and consumer confidence, it
really harkens back to the first Trump economy where really
he kind of put it on his back and got
things roaring alongside tax cuts, these tax cuts were different
in nature than Trump one point zero tax cuts. Because
you had the no tax on tips, you have more

(44:56):
disposable income for seniors on social security. How do you
see the tax cuts interacting with the features of growth
going forward?

Speaker 6 (45:06):
Well, you make such a good point. We had more
real income growth in the first three years of the
first Trump administration than we had in the whole twenty
first century up to that point. And we had more
than six thousand dollars of real income growth in the
average household, the median household in those years. And of course,
you know, the last year got so blown out because
you know, I'm a big Trump fan, but I definitely
criticize him turning things over to Burk's and Fauci and

(45:27):
his last year. Things really got off the rails with
all the lockdowns and all the missteps. But I think
we forget how good the economy was in those first
three years, and I think we can have that again
because we've got the same policy ingredients in place, and
in particular, the one element of the Big Beautiful Bill
that I think is so important is making the full
expensing of business investment permanent and bringing it back to

(45:48):
one hundred percent. So under the Big Beautiful Bill, businesses
that invest in software investment equipment now for the first
time invest in certain qualified production facilities. They can write
the full cost of that investment off in the first
year instead of having a long depreciation table, and I
think that's why we saw a big increase in capital
expenditures in the second quarter in anticipation of that being
done with retroactive effect. And I'm pretty optimistic that now

(46:11):
that it actually has been done, we're going to see
that even more in the third quarter. And that's why
real incomes are rising again. That combined with the deregulation,
combined with the affordable energy, we're seeing real incomes rise
again for the first time in quite a long time,
and they're up more than one thousand dollars this year.

Speaker 1 (46:25):
And it really showcases the importance of that business confidence
right alongside consumer confidence, the wage growth, the productivity, indeed
the golden age. Phil Kirpen, President of American Commitment, thanks
for joining us and sharing your expertise. My pleasure and
coming up. The head of America's largest teachers union has
decided to weigh in on tail and all. We can't
figure out why, and hopefully Corey DeAngelis can explain it

(46:48):
all next.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
Ever, the medical community and families across America are still
reeling from the announcement that vaccines during pregnancy caused many
women fevers. When those fevers hit, they were often treated
with thailanol, and the interaction of vaccines in thailanol may

(49:22):
be causing autism.

Speaker 2 (49:23):
Acetominifin is said okay, which is basically commonly known as
thailanol during pregnancy can be associated with a very increased
risk of autism.

Speaker 7 (49:40):
An area that we are closely examining as the President
is vaccines. Some forty to seventy percent of mothers who
have children with autism believe that her child was injured
by a vaccine. Research on the potential link between autism
and vaccines has been actively suppressed in the past.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
Don't give tylan oil to the baby after the baby's born.
Every time the baby gets a shot, the baby goes
gets a shot, they say, here, take a cup of title.
I've heard that for years. Take tyland Oil. Don't take
tylan All. Don't have your baby take tyler All.

Speaker 1 (50:17):
This announcement isn't sitting well with Randy Winegarden, who isn't
a scientist but rather a leader of America's largest teachers union.
Randy Winegarden posted on x that quote. The science is
clear a sieda menafin is safe for parents to take
during pregnancy. Imagine trusting the head of the teachers union
on Tilanoll. What's next is doctor Fauci gonna teach us algebra?

(50:41):
Parents ask for better schools. Instead, they got Randy moonlighting
as a pharmacist. When Randy Winegarden weighs in on tylan All,
suddenly I missed the days when she was only handing
out homework joining us. Now Senior fellow at the American
Culture Project, Corey DeAngelis so Corey, why is the teachers'
union head weighing in on tiland All on vaccines? And autism.

Speaker 11 (51:02):
I mean, it's insane. It's just the textbook definition of
Trump derangement syndrome. Trump said, he says there's a link,
and so Randy Winegarten has to opine saying that there
isn't a link. And it's just it's just your same
craziness from the teachers. Randy Winegarten, who doesn't have any
kids of her own, all of a sudden, is an
expert on pregnancy. I mean, it's just you really can't

(51:24):
make this stuff up. And Tail and all themselves put
out a statement, it was from quite a while ago,
twenty seventeen, but on Twitter saying that they don't recommend
taking it during pregnancy. So it's just crazy that you
have Randy Winingarten diving into everything that has nothing to
do with the education whatsoever. And it really just goes

(51:48):
to show you that she is the head of a
political organization, not an educational institution. And it's why we
should defund the unions and tell the teachers to opt
out and defund Randy Winegarton going to alternatives like the
Teacher Freedom Alliance.

Speaker 1 (52:03):
It's not just the teachers, it's the parents who I
think are really concerned with this reaction of hers and
the nerve of the teachers' union and really the education
infrastructure altogether, to even think that they have a say
on this, like this isn't question for parents. And you
spend a lot of time studying these very dangerous forces

(52:23):
within public education. How do they think about the school
as a function of administration of medicine? You know, we
see the gender blockers. Now they've got views on tile
and all. I mean, does this seem like mission creep
to you? Yeah?

Speaker 11 (52:40):
Look, I mean they're socialists who think that the schools
should do more and more. They don't want just K
through twelve. They want to get the kids from cradle
to grave. And one way that they do that is
by infiltrating the school system with their far left political ideology.
They don't want to focus on the basics. Why do
you think our NAPE scores, the nation's report cards scores
have dropped so much in re years. One it's because

(53:01):
Randy Winegarton didn't follow the science saying that it's safe
to reopen the schools during the COVID era. But two
it's because they're focused more on the LGBTs than the
ABC's and so you see our scores in the tank.
We spend twenty thousand dollars per student per year, and
Randy's union is nothing more than a money laundering operation
for the Democrat Party. Ninety nine percent of their funding

(53:22):
each year goes to the Democrats. Washren's repeat, and teachers
need to say the heck with this. Randy Winegarten doesn't
represent me or my values. But look, I mean it
just she had a book that just came out called
Why Fascist Fear Teachers right after the Charlie Kirk assassination.
She's quadrupling down on this divisive rhetoric, trying to rip

(53:42):
our country apart with its divisive ideology. We already saw
the critical race theory pitting students against each other. Now
she's painting her political opponents as fascists, basically saying they're
quote unquote literally Hitler. In the first line of her book,
she invokes Adolf Hitler. And so this kind of stuff
needs to stop. It's not just the teachers who are

(54:03):
getting fired in the system right now for their celebrating
the death of Charlie Kirk. It starts at the very
top with Randy Weingarten and her cronies.

Speaker 1 (54:11):
You mentioned the options for teachers who want to be
able to liberate themselves from this corrupt system. What do
you recommend to parents, You know, parents who want to
be able to make any decision about medical care in
the home, not like between third and fourth period.

Speaker 11 (54:27):
Yeah, teachers need to join the Teacher Freedom Alliance. They
get free personal liability insurance covered by the Teacher Freedom Aliance.
So you'd be crazy to continue funneling your money as
a teacher to far left political causes that you disagree with.
But for parents, look, you need to go tell your legislators,
tell your lawmakers in Congress and at the state House
that you want more of a say in your child's education.

(54:47):
Look Randy Winegarten's Union, the American Federation the Teachers just
poured five hundred thousand dollars who was just announced into
the Democrat candidate for governor of Virginia, Abigail Spam. So
they're doing everything they can to drag her across the
finish line to have her push for her political pet
projects in the schools and all across the state. And

(55:10):
they do the same thing in Congress to try to
influence the entire country. They have a socialist agenda that
they're trying to push. Parents are basically the counter to
the teachers' unions, and they should also fight for school
choice to say, if the schools not listen to my values,
if they think that they are in control of my kids,
well you know what, I'm going to get my kids
out of those government institutions, go to a private charter

(55:34):
or even just homeschool them, and have the money follow
the child. The money doesn't belong to the government schools.
It doesn't belong to Randy Weingarten. It's supposed to be
for the kids, and the parents are in the best
position to make that decision for their own child.

Speaker 1 (55:46):
That is the key doctrinal position that conservatives need to
hold to. In in healthcare, money ought to follow the patient.
In education, money ought to follow the student. In disaster relief,
money out of follow the people who were impacted. These
notions of equity and spreading it all around is just
an ecosystem for corruption. My dad, Don Gates is a

(56:09):
current Florida State Senator. He was the former superintendent of
schools in Okahusa County and he used to tell me son,
teachers' unions only really negotiate for two things, more money
and less time with children. So as you look at
the Virginia race where they're pouring all this money in,
is there some other component of the agenda that they're
seeking in return for all of these millions of dollars.

Speaker 11 (56:34):
Yeah, they want the politicians to fight to trap those
kids in their failure factories that we call public schools.
They want to continue brainwashing those kids, but they also
want to continue getting the money per student that they
get in the public school system. If they fight against
school choice, that money won't leave their institutions that are
controlled by the union. So it is you know, they

(56:55):
care about their bottom line, they care about their woke
worldview that they want to inflict on other people's children,
and so they have a monopoly on money right now.
They have a monopoly on brainwashing other people's kids. And
so that's why they're paying politicians so much money so
that they can continue that revenue stream and to prevent

(57:17):
families from getting alternatives. I mean, it's a it's a
very controlling system that we have in the status quo,
and the teacher genions want to keep it that way.

Speaker 1 (57:26):
Yeah, it almost sounds fascist, which is the great tell
from Randy Winingarten's book, She is worrying about fascism while
having her organization. Yeah, like, embrace the components of it.
You've got me so concerned, Corey. I don't know what's
more dangerous. The teachers' union are washing down a vaccine
with some tile and all. But we're glad you're on
the case, Corey DeAngelis, Thanks as always, and we're glad

(57:47):
you're providing some options for those teachers and parents.

Speaker 11 (57:51):
Thanks so much, Matt.

Speaker 1 (57:52):
My home state of Florida just announced a sixty million
dollar allocation of funding for innovative cancer research. The focus
will be on benefits for repurposing drugs like ivermectin to
fight cancer and her announcement. First Lady Casey Desand has
said that generic medications are often overlooked because they're off
patent and they don't necessarily create big profits. You know

(58:14):
IT has been offering them as a trusted provider in
Florida for years. All family pharmacy. They are not your
typical pharmacy. They make it easy to get medicine in
your cabinet. They make the essentials available to you, like antibiotics,
tama flu ivermectin hydroxychloroquin You can get a full supply

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
