Speaker 1 (00:10):
And we welcome here to the Meyer High School Scoreboard show.
Here in ninety six won the game. Rick Brooky in
the saddle. Our crew working feverishly to get the finals
and line up some interviews and stats for you from
across West Michigan. We'll have that for you in just
a little bit. But we're making progress. We're almost about
i'd say, about eighty percent of the way on all
the finals and we go to the cornerstone Corner. We'll
have probably more than that in just a little bit
(00:33):
that some special reports lined up. Let's just start out
taking a look at the ok Red tonight where East
Kentwoods Kate Kaufman threw three touchdown passes to lead the
Falcons to a forty two to six win over Caledonia.
Our one oh seven game of the week in Muskegan.
It's really running very very slow, but midway through the
fourth quarter, West Ottawa Leeds grant Haven thirty to sixteen.
(00:54):
We have a final from that one and a final
report on that a little bit later on in the show.
Our game of the week, you just heard from the
ok Silver Building all over Hollands sixty to twenty and
in the Okay Red tonight Rockford and Granville. Sure enough,
Hudsonville Jennison was there. Speaking of the Hudsonville Jennison game.
Actually with the Rockford Granville game. Our Dan Hasty was there.
He files this.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Report reporting from Granville High School. This is Service Professor's
game reporter Dan Haysteve with the Meyer High School scoreboards.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Show summary.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
This report presented by Service Professor Heating, Cooling, plumbing, and Electrical.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
They'll fix it in the snap.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Well here tonight, this one was over in a snap
final score Rockford twenty eight and Granville nothing. Rockford pitches
a shout out, oh Rick Burkey, you missed out in
this contest. It was just slow and steady winning the
race for the Rockford Rams. The big story not only
was Jade and Terry, the future Fair Estate Bulldog out
(01:52):
with his knee injury, but also injured Brayden Daniels, the
quarterback of the Rockford Rams. So enters off more Cason
Whitford making his first career start, and it looks like
the future of the Rockford Rams is in good hands.
Looking calm, cool and collected the sophomore with a twenty
two yard touchdown run in the first quarter to make
(02:14):
it seven to nothing Rockford. In the second quarter, a
forty six yard run from running back Luke Ahearn sets
up his own four yard touchdown on the next play.
Every quarter Rockford scored another touchdown. That's how this game progressed.
Seven minutes to go in the third, Ryan Carrey got
in on the act. A fifteen yard touchdown run made
(02:35):
it twenty one to nothing, and then it was a
Hearn one more time in the fourth quarter on a
fourth and goal from one yard out, and that wrapped
up the scoring here today and our game tonight, the
Healthcare Associates play of the game, We're gonna go. This
is gonna sort of be the caseon Whitford postgame show tonight.
That twenty two yard touchdown run really a thing of
beauty as he was able to take his team who
(02:58):
was probably looking to him for a whole lot of leadership.
Not something that you ask a sophomore to do all
that much, but he was on point tonight, fifteen of
twenty one in the air for over one hundred and
fifty yards, and on the ground he was solid as well.
Twenty yards and a touchdown are Hearne goes nine for eighty.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
With two scores.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
It was just a solid game, one that you come
to expect when you're talking about the Rockford Rams. Rockford
now four and one, Grandville is three and two. Grandville's
at home next week to take on Jennison, and boy,
what a matchup we've got coming up next week. It's
Rockford and Hudsonville next week, and I'm sure we'll have
that coverage wall to wall here on ninety six one
(03:39):
the game. This report presented by Service Professor. They'll fix
it in a snap once again. Our final score here
tonight from Grandville High School was Rockford twenty eight and
the Grandville Bulldogs nothing. Well, I think we've learned one thing.
Rockford is inevitable. Some things never change. Our Healthcare Associate
(04:00):
player of the game, we gotta give it to the
sophomore quarterback Cason Whitford, who was dynamite in his first
career start tonight, reporting from Grandville High School. This is
Service Professor's game reporter, Dan Hasty.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Thank you Dan. Nice job.
Speaker 1 (04:13):

Let's head over to the ok Black Night where Holland
Christian got a big win Overadawah Hills fifty five nothing.
Catholic Central was tied zero zero at the half with
(04:56):
thrown up with Kellogg and it was three nothing Cougars
after three quarters, and then early in the fourth quarter
Catholic Central defender intercepted a pitch out and ran it
back for a touchdown for the only touchdown of the game.
Catholic Central wins at ten nothing. East Grand Rapids took
on Northview tonight in a big game there. Northview, of course,
one of the stories of high school football. West Michigan
off to a perfect four and oh start. East Grand
(05:18):
Rapids a deceptive two and two going in, but it
was the Pioneers who held off the Wildcats in a
low scoring affair. East Grand Rapids ten, Northview three and
East Grand Rapids coach Josh Shuck. Shattuck joined us right
now on the live line. Coach Shattuck, I tell you
what again, you as I said, you guys were very
deceptive two and two going into this one. Lost a
(05:39):
heartbreaker last week against a tremendous Catholic Central team. It's
got to be satisfying for your guys tonight to go
right down to the wire again and knock off North
Through for their first loss of the year.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
Yeah, it was just a lot of great results from
our kids. Obviously, back to back games on the road
at Catholic Central and then at Northeat for their blackout,
and two great environments, tough atmospheres and two games that
were played very similarly. So really really proud of our kids,
probably more emotionally than physically when it comes to bouncing
back off a really really tough loss last week and
(06:12):
a good game over at Catholic. So really proud of
our guys.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Yeah, you mentioned that again. You lost in the final
seconds last week against Catholic. Cent coach, did you have
to spend an enordant amount of time trying to get
them back up on Monday at practice or did they
pretty much take that on themselves?
Speaker 5 (06:29):
No cooking on themselves. We have ten out of ten leadership,
ten out of ten resolve this group. I don't have
to worry about them at all. I think as a
coach sometimes you just you know. I told them, I said,
you know, we could either wish that we played someone different,
or you know what, with this group after a really
tough loss, I think the best thing for us was
(06:49):
to be on the road at an undefeated team and
we just knew, like, hey, we have zero time to
solve zero And I told them that on the field
against Catholic, It's like, you have zero time to solve.
We're going to look our wounds and get back Saturday morning.
And we got back to work Saturday morning last week
and put together a plan and kids went out and
executed and listen, we got to play a lot better
(07:10):
moving forward. But it was good enough to win on
the road hostile environment against a really good team.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Screen Rapids coach Josh Shattack join us on the liveline
right now, coach, let's talk about your defensive transition. You
gave up forty points in the opener. You've now allowed
a total of twenty points over the next three games
against some really strong teams.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
Over four games, we gave up zero to Self Christian,
we gave up seven to well.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
That's right, excuse me, four games.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
Yeah, and the Catholic Yeah, I mean Week one was
unique in a lot of ways and we own that.
I think, you know, the number that they had was
a little deceptive in the sense of a lot of
that was fourth quarter where we had allowed some runouts
late and our offense at five turnovers all in you know,
negative territory, So that number was tough. We and Lowe
(07:57):
was really good. So that was a nice way call
for us, an unfortunate need for it, but nice wake
up call. Our kids have responded, and you know, when
you play defense like we've been playing, you know, shut
out Self Christian, held Grand Rapids Christian, who's a very
good offensive talented team, held them to seven, and then
held Catholic Central to ten. Really harder points and then
(08:18):
to play north View to three points. I mean, they
have some really good players, specifically in the skilled position.
So cannot say enough about our defensive players and staff,
and they just keep coming back. And you know, it
makes it nice when you know that your defense is gonna,
you know, play that way. You can't feel it early
in the game when you're taking away the things that
teams want to do.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Coach your squad now three and two overall, one and
one in conference play, but the schedule is now on
your side. With three of the last four at home.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
Yeah, we've had you know, these back to back games
are tough, obviously, you know, and before the season started,
when you look, we had a four game stretch where
we three games and four weeks at Self Christian at
Tratholic Central at Northview and those are tough, Yeah, tough games,
and we went two out of three on those. Obviously,
would have loved to have cleaned up those and you know,
(09:05):
Austin heartbreaker last week. But you know, we are what
we are worth.
Speaker 7 (09:09):
Three and two.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
Very disappointed to have two awesome on schedule, but also
understand that we played the fifth teams and you know,
we really played five good teams when you really look
at our schedule, and so you know, we got Alan
Christian who is four and one, so just no sleep
for the weary and we'll get ready for Alan Christian
and that'd be nice to be back at home.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
All right, thanks for joining US.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Coach Josh Shaddick from East Grand Rapids Big ten three
win Handy North. He was first loss of the season. Congrats, coach,
will catch up with you down the road.
Speaker 5 (09:36):
I appreciate you guys having me on.
Speaker 7 (09:37):
Have a great weekend, all right, take care.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Yeah, he mentioned Holland Christian, one of the surprise teams
probably in all of West Michigan.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
Right now.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
The Maroons are four and one on the season, one
and one in league play after handling Outawa Hills tonight

Speaker 3 (11:27):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 8 (11:28):
Rick. We'll start on the ok Red where East Kentwood
leads Caledonia. Or excuse me, Kentwood defeated Caledonia forty two
to six. Kit kopfin three touchdown passes for the Falcons
in that one. Hudsonville shut out Jennison forty two to nothing.
Rockford shuts out Granville twenty eight nothing. In our game
of the week on the Lake Shore, West Ottawa gets
their first win of the year with a thirty seven
(11:49):
to sixteen win versus Grand Haven in the ok White.
West Catholic defeats Spring Lake twenty one to fourteen in
the Okay Green in the game of the night probably
Byron Center and Mona Shores.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
They go back and forth.
Speaker 8 (12:01):
Byron Center gets the win forty two to thirty five
in overtime. The Bulldogs are now two and three. Muskegan
defeated Forest Hills Northern forty to twenty one. We'll have
a report from our very on Bob Sat coming up
later here in the scoreboard show. In the OK Black,
we heard it from head coach Josh Shattuck. At Des
Grand Rapid defeated north View ten to three, Catholic Central
(12:22):
Shuts Out thrown Apple, Kellogg ten zip and Holland Christian
fifty five nil over Ottawa Hills and the OK Gold
Unity Christian fifty two, Forest Hills Central sixteen, Zealand East
thirty eight, Zeeland West fourteen and South Christian shuts out
Wyoming fifty four to nothing. In the OK Silver, you
heard it right here on nine to six one in
the game Building all over Holland to Night sixty to twenty.
(12:44):
Kelloggsville gets a win. Tonight they moved to three and
two with a thirty to twenty two win over Hopkins.
In the River City's Alliance saw Coopersville all over Greenville
to Night forty two to seven Allendale. They get their
first win of the year where a twenty six to
thirteen win at Sparta tonight and in a nodling game
Kenawa Hills traveled all the way to Battle Creek to
take on Harper Creek. Kennawa Hills falls tonight, though in
(13:06):
their first loss of the year thirty seven to fifteen.
In Major League Baseball, guys, we have Detroit Tigers. Watch
the Tigers let early in this one three to nothing.
We are now in the bottom of the ninth. It
is three to three between the Tigers and the Red Sox.
The Tigers stranded a man on third in the top
of the ninth and is currently run around first with
one out for the Boston Red Sox as the Tigers
(13:28):
are hoping for extra innings in this one. But on
the good side, and the good news is the Texas
Rangers are beating the Cleveland Guardians seven to two. That
game is also in the bottom of the ninth, and
of course the Tigers also have to keep an eye
on Houston, which just is underway because if the Tigers
do hang on to win and actually breaking news, the
(13:49):
Tigers have just lost as the Boston Red Sox walk
it off in the bottom of the night. So the
Tigers lose four to three and the magic number still
remains two.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
But we'll see what Houston does later.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
All right, Joe, give us better news next time on
the Tigers.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
There.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
I know it's not on you, buddy, all right, Hey,

got reports on the Hudsonville Jennison game and the Muskegan
Forest Hills Northern game, so we've got reports on that,

just heard from coach Josh Shaddock. We've got an interview
coming up with the Grand Rapids Christian coach Kirk Sunberg

Scoreboard show rolls on will be joined very very shortly
by one oh seven mus the Moose in Muskege. And
we heard a little earlier Dan Hasey's report that Rockford
(15:31):
beat Grandville to set up one half of the big
showdown next week in the Oka Red first place matchup
between Rockford and Hudsonville. Let's see how the Hudsonville if
they took care of their business. Lucas symbol was there
and reports.
Speaker 9 (15:42):
This reporting from Jennison High School. This is Service Professor,
Game Reporter Lucas symbol the Meyer High School Scoreboard show summary.
This report is presented by Service Professor Heating, Cooling, Plumbing,
and Electrical. They'll fix it in a snap here tonight.
It was all Hudsonville as the Eagles were beyond dominant
in a forty two to nothing win over their cross
(16:04):
time rivals Jennison. Hudsonville rolled up four hundred and two
yards of total offense, with two hundred and eighty eight
of those coming courtesy of their impressive brushing attack. Jennison
received the opening kickoff and was able to muster one
first down, but that was all they would get in
the first half as Hudsonville absolutely shut things down defensively,
holding the Wildcats to just twenty eight yards of offense
in the opening two quarters. The Eagles were firing on
(16:27):
all cylinders on both sides of the ball, as they
scored touchdowns on all four of their first out possessions.
I know it was incredibly early, but in our Healthcare
Associates Play of the Game, Owen Harsma burst up the
middle for twenty five yards on a third and fifteen
play to set up Wyatt van Asen's three yard touchdown
run to make it seven nothing Hudsonville. The Eagles scored
again on their next drive, with Herzma providing the finishing touches,
(16:49):
this time on a four yard dive into the end zone.
Van Ason scored on a pair of one yard TV
runs on the final two Hudsonville possessions of the first half,
and it was twenty eight zero Eagles at the halftime break.
The Hudsonville offense had two hundred and forty three yards
of offense in the first half. It was more of
the same in the second half, as Hudsonville linebacker Sam
Redosa fell on the ball through a backwards pass from
Jennison to set the Eagles up at the Wildcat seven
(17:11):
yard line. It took Hudsonville just two plays to get
into the end zone again, as sophomore running back Liam
Barnes found Pader from two yards out to make it
thirty five to zero and wind up the dreaded running clock.
Hudsonville senior running back Nick Patterson scored the final touchdown
of the game on a four yard run midway through
the fourth quarter. Eagle quarterback Bradon Van Lake was three
of eight for forty four yards, but it didn't matter
(17:33):
a whole lot due to the potency of the Hudsonville
running game. Barnes finished with twelve carries for seventy four
yards in a touchdown. Will harzmat Tota the Rock eight
times for sixty nine yards and one score. As well,
the Hudsonville defense kept star Jennison running back Brody Skidaiman
in check as he was limited to just twenty seven
yards on twelve carries, and this was just one week
after he erupted for one hundred and ninety one yards
(17:55):
on the ground against Grand Haven. As the Eagles defense
had the line of scrimmage stacked up the entire night,
the Wildcats were held to just fifty one yards.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Of offense for the game.
Speaker 9 (18:04):
Hudsonville is now five to oh, three and oh in
the OK Red and they will travel to Rock for
next Friday in the game that could quite possibly determine
the OK RED champion. Jennison is now three and two
one and two in the OK Red and they'll head
just across the Kent County line to face Granville next week.
This repert was presented by Service professor They'll fix it
in a snap once again. Our final here tonight from
(18:27):
Jennison High School is Hudsonville forty two Jennison zero, and
our Healthcare Associates Player of the game was Hudsonville junior
running back Wyatt van Asen, who carried the ball just
six times for thirty five yards, but scored three touchdowns
on the ground while also catching a pass for eight yards.
Reporting from Jennison High School. This is Service Professor Game
Reporter Lucas Symbol.

Reporting from Forest Hills Northern High School. This is Michigan

Show summary. This report is presented by Service Professor Heating, Cooling, plumbing,

it was the Muskegan Big Reds forty the Forest Steels
Northern Huskies twenty one. It was a game that saw
(19:39):
the team's trade touchdowns really for the first quarter and
a half. A couple from Forest Hills northerns owen Ostipo
on the ground, matched by Keyshawn Drummers. Two long runs
for Muskegan left US with a fourteen to fourteen score.
Midway through the second quarter, Muskegan would take a twenty
one to fourteen lead, and the ensuing kickoff produced a
(20:01):
fumble recovery by the Big Reds that led to a
twenty six yard touchdown pass from Lamar Bradford to Demetrius
Rainey Brown, sending the Big Reds into the locker room
at halftime with a twenty eight to fourteen edge. Moske
Can really put it away early in the third quarter
on our Healthcare Associates Play of the Game, a sixty
(20:21):
two yard TV pass from Bradford again to Demetrius Rainey
Brown that made it thirty four to fourteen and sent
the Big Reds onto the victory. Statistically, moske Can out
gain for Stills Northern three seventy five to two sixty eight,
spoiling a one hundred and nineteen yard rushing performance by
(20:42):
Owen Ostapo in a solid two way game from linebacker
and fullback Colton Sawyer for Forest Ills Northern. For Moskegan,
Lamar Bradford was four to five through the air and
a couple of touchdowns to complement his strong run game
from the quarterback position. Skiking moves to three and two
halfway through the season. Forest Hills Northern falls to two
(21:04):
and three. Big Reds go to Monas Shores next week
for their annual neighborhood.

senior running back from Muskegan. He racked up two hundred
and four yards on twenty two carries. That's his second
(21:32):

in Major League Baseball. In case you didn't hear, the
Detroit Tigers fell to the Boston Red Sox tonight four
to three, after having a three to nothing lead earlier.
In this game, they have lost, however, Cleveland has lost,
so the magic number is still two.
Speaker 3 (24:58):

Speaker 8 (25:01):
In if the Astros lose tonight, which is zero zero
right now at the bottom of the second, the Tiger's
magic number will go down to one with two to play.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
Rick all right, thanks a lot.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
He mentioned the ok White battle between Forest Hills Eastern
and Kirks and Kirk Sunber's growing up as Christian Squad
and our Scott Moore was.
Speaker 12 (25:16):
There reporting from Grand Rapids Christian High School. This is
Service Professor game reporter Scott Moore with a Meyer post
game show summary. This report presented by Service Professor Heating, Cooling, plumbing,
and Electrical. They'll fix it in a snap. Here tonight,
something happened that hasn't happened since twenty twenty two. The
(25:36):
gr Christian Eagles won their second straight game, knocking off
Forest Hills Eastern forty four to twenty four in the
Battle of the Birds. It was homecoming for Christian and
they scored first, driving sixty four yards and settling for
a twenty one yard Eastern how field goal and a
three to nothing lead. Eastern went through Christian like a
(25:57):
warm knife through butter, sixty two yards on just three plays,
capped off by Jordan Schabaz's touchdown run of six yards
that made it Eastern seven Christian three. Then Christian began
to assert themselves with three unanswered scoring drives. The first
contained our Healthcare Associates play of the game. On third
(26:19):
and four, Charlie King completed a forty four yard pass
to Brion Walton down to the Eastern one yard line.
King went the final yard himself. Into the first quarter
ten seven Eagles. Eldon Grover got hot for the Eagles,
scoring from thirteen yards away and then from ten yards
out for a twenty three to seven lead. With one
(26:41):
point four seconds before halftime, Forest Hills Eastern kicker Charlie
Sot hit from thirty seven yards out and our halftime
score was Christian twenty three. Forest Hills Eastern ten. Christian
scored the first two times that they had the ball
in the second half as well.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
First was a.
Speaker 12 (26:57):
Five yard touchdown from Grover third of the game. Then
Brockton Meusen caught a King pass for eleven yards down
to the one yard line. On the next play, took
the direct snap and punched it in Forced Hills Eastern
struck back with a Jordan Schabbaz one yard touchdown round
That came after Kendrick Penkevitch hit Luke Rosenbrook for forty
(27:19):
eight yards down to the one yard line. Musen had
another direct snap one yard touchdown in the fourth quarter
and the scoring was finished out by Garrett Johns from
Forced Hills Eastern with a ten yard touchdown run. Grand
Rapids Christian had one play in victory formation and the
final score was Christian forty four, Forced Hills Eastern twenty four.
(27:42):
In that game, Charlie King, the quarterback for Grand Rapids. Christian,
was eleven for fourteen for one hundred and fifty six
yards through the air, and he added seven carries for
thirty four yards and a touchdown. Brockton Meusen had seventeen
carries for one hundred and sixteen yards and two scores,
and for Forest Shills Eastern, Jordan Schabez carried the ball
thirteen times for seventy eight yards and a pair of scores.
(28:07):
With the win, Christian now three and two on the season.
For Stills Eastern is also three and two with the loss.
Next week for Stills Eastern goes to Hamilton, while Christian
plays at West Catholic. This report was presented by Service Professor.
They'll fix it in a snap once again. Our final
tonight from Christian High School was Grand Rapids Christian forty
(28:29):
four for Stills Eastern twenty four, and our Healthcare associate's
player of the game was Elden Grover, who gained one
hundred and thirteen yards on fifteen carries and scored three times.
Reporting from Grand Rapids Christian High School, I'm Service Professor
game reporter Scott Moore.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Thanks Scott. Great job tonight and all season long. We
lose Scott by the way as he now leaves for
his play by play duties with Michigan State Hockey. Great
audition every week every year with us, and we'll miss him.
Great job against Scott Moore in a big for Grantedrivers
Christian and Christian coach Kirk Sundberg joins us on the
liveline right now. Coach, it's been a while, as Scott said,
since you've won back to back games like that. It's
(29:08):
got to be very satisfying in your locker room tonight,
that's for sure.
Speaker 7 (29:13):
They had the music going and it was fun to
see them enjoy the process of play in high school football.
It's a group that's worked really hard, and you know
that success is not always guaranteed when you work hard,
but fun for those guys to have it, for sure.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Coach, you dropped two of your first three, and then
you come back with nice wins over spring Lake and
forres So's Eastern, two pretty solid programs there. What do
you think was the key to the guys keeping their
heads up realizing after dropping two out of three that hey,
it's not going to be the same old story for
the Eagles this year.
Speaker 5 (29:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (29:43):
Honestly, I think it goes back to last year. We've
had a couple of tough seasons in a row, but
you can feel as we continued to work and grind
and struggle last year that we had a key core
of kids who didn't quit. They kept fighting even when
results didn't go our way, and so it's just, yeah,
it's been cool to see that their their diligence and
(30:06):
their resilience has paid off. And you know, I don't
want to pretend like we've arrived. You know, these games
have been off and it's been really cool to win
a couple in a row in front of our home crowd.
The words to me, pleased but not satisfied kind of
keep coming into my mind, and I'm very pleased and
excited about this and understand that we've got to keep
getting better. There were plenty of things the six out
(30:27):
there tonight, so but certainly a fun night for our kids.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Absolutely grand.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
It was Christian coach.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
Kirk Sundberg joins us on the liveline right now. The
Eagles beat for US was Eastern forty four twenty four.
We just heard Scott Moore talk about Eldon Grover add
over one hundred yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
Big night for Elden coach.
Speaker 7 (30:43):
Oh, he's an unbelievable kid. Yeah, to see him just
continue to work, the smile on his face, the leader
that he is in our school. Yeah, I love it.
Amazing to see a sophomore perform like that, and the
way that him and rep and share the load in
our backfield, and Charlie jumping on that as well. Yeah,
really really excited for all those guys. Just tremendous performances.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Coach, you mentioned he's a sophomore. What do you have
to see in a player as a sophomore before you
believe he's ready for varsity ball.
Speaker 7 (31:13):
Yeah, he was a good player on our JV team
last year, and so yeah, we just felt like he
had the lower body strength, he had the just the
speed in the twitch, and then we needed to see
a consistent summer out of him in the weight room,
which he did. He was very consistent in our summer
strength program, and so yeah, I just felt like he
had that ability and yeah, trust him, he's doing a
(31:36):
great job.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Coach, you get back on the road to head over
to West Catholic. You know that'll be a big challenge
right now, but you guys will enjoy this win tonight.
Thanks for joining us on the liveline and we look
forward to finding out more about the Eagles in the future.
Speaker 6 (31:49):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 7 (31:50):
Thank you very much, since what you do for West
Michigan Football.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Thank you Kirk Sundberg, Grand Rabbis Christian coach. Right there,
all right, we're going to take a break, going to
come back with reports on the catch up here just
a minute here, we've still got to hear from the
Orchard View at Muskegan Catholic game. We've got the East
Grand Rapids Northview report coming in very very soon as well.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
So let's stay with us.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
We'll come back with more as you listen to the
Meyer High School Scoreboard Show on ninety six win the
game and one O seven m us The Moose Meyer
Scoreboard Show on one O seven m us The Moose
and ninety six won the game, big game in the
OK black and night, East Grand Rapids and Northwew scoring
off at Northew and our Remy Monahan was there.
Speaker 13 (32:30):
Reporting from Northview High School. This is service Professor game
reporter Rennie Monahan with a Mayor High School scoreboard show summary.
This report is presented by a service professor Heating, Cooling, plumbing,
and electrical. They'll fix it in a snap final score.
East Grand Rapids ten, Northview three. This was a score
that I don't think many of us expected. The Northview
(32:52):
Wildcats beat the Pioneers for the first time in twenty years.
Last season, East, though got back to their winning ways
against Northview in their kickout Cancer game. It was scoreless
through the first quarter and only three to nothing at
the half thanks to a thirty six thirty six yard
field goal by Will Klimb for East. North View had
(33:12):
several drives where they got into the red zone and
even down into the five, but just weren't able to
do anything. They missed two field goals and then threw
an incomplete pass on fourth down. In fact, North View'd
turned the ball over on downs three times in this game,
very unlike them, and their ability to not convert was
a huge reason for this loss. Their defense, though, really
(33:33):
kept them in this game by helping stop the Pioneers
run game, which otherwise would have ran up the score.
The run game was tough to get going again because
both defenses were really solid in this game, near impossible
for anybody to pick up a couple of yards. Healthcare
professionals play and player of the game. I gotta go
with East Grand Rapids quarterback Josh mcchuwn. He had the
one and only touchdown in this game. It was a
(33:55):
smart heads up play that got the Pioneers into the
end zone. You is no longer unbeaten. They dropped to
four and one this season. East Grand Rapids, though, moving
to three and two, picking up their first conference win.
Next week East Grand Rapids home against Holland Christian. The
Wildcats stay at home to host thorn Apple Kellogg once again.
(34:16):
The final score ten to three East Grand Rapids with
the win tonight over Northview. Reporting from Northview High School,
there is a service professor game reporter Remi Monahan.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Thanks Reming, good job. As always, the Michigan Achievements Scholarship
is funding every high school graduate in oddsar. Your high
school senior or recent grad will qualify for free money

no matter their GPA, and the scholarship is less income

(34:46):
Learn more ATMI dot gov backslash achievement. That's MI dot
gov backslash achievement. Big win tonight for the Kelloggsville Rockets.
They were home against Hopkins. They got a thirty to
twenty two win over the Hopkins squad tonight and coach
Justin Dennett from Kellefville joined us on the live line
right now. Coach, a big win over the last ten years.
(35:09):
I don't know what the record is, but I know
Hopkins gotten the better of it over the last decade.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
Ahead.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
If you already satisfying to get them, especially in front
of the home faithful.
Speaker 6 (35:18):
Yeah, absolutely, that was a huge win for our program.
I look back and we haven't beat them in eight years.
I think it was, and so for us to get
that win, just really happy for our kids and our
community showed up tonight and really supported us, so that
that was a fun one. Glad we were able to
hang on and get that.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Started out with two wins, then dropped a couple back
to back, so that's a good way to get off
the schneider and get that win back. On the plus side,
you mentioned the support there at the school. I'm sure
that was a big part of the win tonight, as
you mentioned.
Speaker 6 (35:50):
Yeah, for sure, our school community has been awesome supporting us.
Those two wins early really helped. You know, it's getting
everyone behind us, and I was just happy with how
our kids responded tonight after losing two straight and seeing
a team that's gotten the better of us over the years.
You know, we came out firing early and jumped out
(36:10):
on him and almost gave it away, but we were
able to finish and hang on and get the win.
So really happy for our kids.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
Justin you haven't had a chance to look at the
tape yet, but give us a couple guys that you
know played well without looking at the tape.
Speaker 6 (36:26):
Yeah. So our two guys on offense that have kind
of been carrying us all year have been our quarterback
Cameron Dunbar and our running back Kiante Gibson. They both
played great tonight. Cam pulled his hammy two weeks ago
and didn't play last week and said he wanted to
try it tonight. So he played the whole night, ran
the ball well, made some clutch throws and then Keante
(36:47):
are running backs just a special player. He had a
great game as well, and the offensive line really won
it for us down the stretch that last drive, our
left side of the line dominated. We ran it to
the left side every single play. We got the ball
with under three minutes left and scored with under a
minute left, just running the football to our left side,
over and over, and so that was a pretty cool
(37:11):
way to come out with the win.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Coach, you got kind of a weird thing this week.
You have the week off wy I mean, Lee had
to bow out of eleven man football at the last
minute this year, so you if the game is canceled,
do you get credit for a win with that as
a forfeit or is it just a non game.
Speaker 6 (37:28):
We do get credit with a fourfoit win there, So yeah,
that's kind of a nice thing for us with our numbers.
I would love to play a game to get our
kids another game, but there's not many openings across the state,
so we're just taking the week off and we get
a win for that. So we'll be sitting at four
and two. It'll be kind of nice to be able
(37:51):
to sit back and really look at the film from
this past week and clean up all our mistakes and
get healthy and get ready to go for the three
games stretched on the end. That'll be tough for us.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
Yeah, you gave me.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
Next game you'll play on the field will be two
weeks from tonight at Comstock Park, so you guys have
got a chance to rest up. As you said, the
most important part of there is at this point this year,
getting healthier, right because everybody's nicked and Bruges in some ways.
Speaker 6 (38:16):
Absolutely yeah, this is. We had a couple go down
tonight too, nothing serious, but you know, just minor injuries
that hopefully a week off will allow them to come back.
So just getting healthy and getting everybody fresh for our
last stretch there against three pretty tough teams that are
scoring a bunch of points that'll be really important for us.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
Coach Justin Dinnett from Kellogsville. Big win for the Rockets
over Hopkins to night thirty to twenty two. Congratulations on
the win, coach, and good luck down the road.
Speaker 6 (38:44):
I appreciate it. Thanks for having me all right.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
Nice win there for the Rockets there and as I said,
they had not beaten Hopkins in eight years. Big satisfying
victory for Kvilla in that one. All right, still to come.
We've got a report from Scott to camp on the
Orchard View Maskige Catholic game. We've also got the Service

skiking Kathock Central thirty nine to seven, and sophomore quarterback

the nine league contest. The Healthcare Associates Player of the

a game high one hundred and ninety rushing yards and
four touchdowns on only eight carries. Rees scored on runs
of twenty eight, eleven, seventy five, and forty three yards.
The seventy five yard run late in the first half

a twenty six to seven league at the time. It
(42:29):
came one play after a long kickoff return by Reese
