(00:00):
D.K.
(00:30):
Yo, yo, yo, it's your boy Mr. Broskiii.
And it's a poet's heart.
And we're here to bring you.
The Midnight Exchange of Nocturnal Ideas.
But Midnight Exchange for short.
That shit is too long.
So in tonight's episode, we're going to kind of give you a little intro, give you a little
(00:51):
bit of information about who we are and what inspired us to start a podcast series.
And our episode tonight is The Midnight Exchange Begins:
Why We're Here and What's Next.
So do you ever find yourself deep in thought at 10 p.m., 12 a.m. or even 3 a.m.
(01:12):
up questioning everything from life's purpose to why cereal tastes better at night?
Wondering if you're going to make it to your job in the morning or even wondering how long
until you become wealthy enough to make your own hours?
Well, we want to welcome you to The Midnight Exchange of Nocturnal Ideas where unfiltered
conversations thrive and no topic is off limits.
(01:36):
All right, so we're gon' get it crackin' a lil something like this.
So in this episode, we're going to basically be introducing ourselves, telling you a little
bit about ourselves, you know, you know how that goes.
And also in this podcast, we will be speaking freely.
I mean, speaking freely.
(01:56):
All right.
So if you don't like it, you might want to go ahead and stop listening right now.
This is also a fuc-- a judgment free zone.
A fuck free zone.
A judgment free zone.
You hear me?
I know you hear that from a lot of places, but this is really judgment free because I
(02:20):
don't give a fuck.
You don't know me.
I don't know you.
So hey, fuck it.
So yeah, let's do it.
So who are we?
Well, my name is Alysha.
I go by A Poet's Heart because I'm a poet.
I love to write.
I'm an author, a publisher.
(02:43):
Let's see a little background about myself.
Other than the writing, I'm a college graduate. I have a Bachelor's in Psychology.
I'm working on establishing my stationary brand right now, working on a variety of different
(03:03):
books and journals and things of that sort.
As far as my personality, I'm goofy.
I like to laugh, but I can also be quiet and I also don't like to be bothered at times.
So you know, I love deep conversations.
I love things that intrigue my mind, things that make me want to research further.
(03:28):
So I can definitely say that's one thing that makes me want to or made me want to create,
you know, and us want to create a podcast and what mostly inspired me.
Guess it's my turn.
All right.
They call me D, but y'all can call me Mr. Broskii.
(03:54):
I go by Mr. Broskii because I am him.
And plus that's my gamertag, add me, you know.
Go ahead.
If you want to get bussing the 2K, I'm your guy.
Anywho, I'm laid back.
I like to sit to myself.
I'm goofy.
I like anime.
I mean, hey.
(04:15):
I'm on what else?
Starting my own lil' clothing brand.
Stay tuned.
Merch will be coming.
Watch it now.
The merch will be coming.
And I think I like, I like doing this podcast because I don't mind deep conversation because
you, you never really know what the other person is thinking sometimes.
(04:39):
In a deep conversation kind of allows you to get to know a person even better.
Even your spouse, sibling, cousin, you know, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
Things of that nature, whatever.
Maybe but yeah, that's me.
And we're married for those who don't know us and those who are new.
A lot of y'all know us already, but we are married.
(05:00):
And so when two great minds get together, they do great things.*Stay Single..*
What?
Don't get married.
Yeah.
Don't.
I would not suggest to those in their right mind.
Yes.
So what can you expect from us on The Midnight Exchange?
(05:21):
All right.
So I'm going to keep it a book.
You're going to get it uncut and raw.
You feel me?
Amen.
I'm cutting raw.
Like some of y'all guys out here, y'all upset and y'all like, um, my bad.
We're going to try to keep it at a certain level.
(05:41):
We don't want to get what they can say.
We don't want to get demonetized at the beginning.
Good thing.
I doubt that's what's gon' happen.
Good thing we doing this on our own.
But you know, it just discussions from two people who've lived, learned, and we just
aren't afraid to challenge perspectives.
(06:02):
So yeah.
Okay.
So why this podcast and what is our purpose here at The Midnight Exchange?
Well, the purpose of The Midnight Exchange is to create a space for real late night style
conversations that others can relate to.
(06:22):
Now it won't be very, very late, like 12 PM, but you know, we want to go for like a late
night conversation type of idea.
Those random ass thoughts that you and your friend think of, or you may think of alone
that that type of vibe, you know, and you'll get that from us.
You'll see as time goes on, there is no topic that we are against.
(06:45):
We will discuss everything from love to marriage to trust and heartbreak, mental health, politics,
physical, physical health, loving yourself more, real life experiences, confessionals,
personal growth, therapy, and the list goes on.
Y'all there's so much that we will touch on.
There's so much that we can talk about.
(07:07):
There's no topic that we won't touch on.
Our Podcast Episodes are based on a Series that will contain two to three episodes in
each of those Series.
All of our series will have a main title and then those three episodes will have their
own subtitle.
I guess you can call them a subtitle of the series.
(07:28):
All of these series, we're looking for them to contain an anonymous "What's On Your Mind"
episode where we will have a chance to hear from you and your thoughts.
We do have a Google form link on our main pages.
You can find me on Facebook as Alicia Turner.
And then you can also send us emails and questions or stories for your wild what ifs.
(07:55):
And our email address is, what is our email address?
Y'all hold on, what's our email?*LAUGHS*
I don't know, I ain't even allowed.
Okay wait y'all, let me find the email address.
I just created it, so bear with me.
Okay, our email address is themidnightexchangepodcast.gmail.com.
(08:16):
For those of you who want to be technical, the Midnight Exchange, E-X-C-H-A-N-G-E, podcast
at gmail.com.
You can send your questions, your what ifs, anything you want.
You can send it anonymously.
(08:36):
We're not gonna sit here and release your information.
If you really want to stay anonymous, we suggest going to our Google link.
You don't have to add an email or anything.
You can just post your little random thoughts, anything you want us to include.
And we plan on including that in every series.
We're gonna save a spot for that.
So if you don't hear your anonymous submission on one, just tune in to the next one.
(09:02):
We're not gonna miss anybody.
No promises guaranteed.
You might get missed.
Just please keep it respectful y'all.
Please don't come in there with no wild crazy ass shit.
And being disrespectful and stuff.
Because you know, let's respect each other at the end of the day.
Please don't get too crazy.
You got crazy stories.
(09:22):
We understand that.
But there's a difference in having a crazy ass story and just posting outrageous, disrespectful
things.
So let's keep it respectful.
So our first series will be titled Love, Lies, and Loyalty.
That's gonna be our first series that'll have three episodes in it.
(09:43):
It's a perfect time since February is just now ending.
The month of love.
So what would be a better time to discuss that than now?
In this series, we'll touch on love, betrayal, marriage, when to fight for love, sacrifices,
commitment, and loyalty are just a few things we'll touch on during this first series.
I mean, let me touch your thoughts real quick.
(10:07):
Let me let a young nigga talk to you real quick.
You know, something to make you think, you know.
Does time actually heal wounds?
Or do we just get better at pretending they don't hurt?
Just sit and think about that, you know?
Every episode will have a what we like to call Midnight Thought of the Day.
(10:28):
That was our very first midnight thought of the day to kind of get you introduced to this
next series, Love, Lies, and Loyalty.
So what is it again, Mr. Broskii?
I got you.
There's time actually.
Hey, hey, hey, hey.
(10:49):
Women man.
If you ain't interrupting them, what is you doing?
Women, that's why I say don't get married.
You lose your voice.
You always be like Mike and beat em'.
No, no, no, don't take my advice.
Don't do that.
I don't exist.
Don't do that.
Don't take my advice.
(11:10):
Maybe y'all will believe me.
I'm being abused at home.
But now let's get to it, right?
So the Midnight Thought of the Day.
Does time actually heal wounds or do we just get better at pretending they don't hurt?
Just let that sit in the back of your head for a moment.
Just think about that for a little bit.
(11:31):
We gonna leave you all with that thought for tonight.
Thank y'all for tuning in.
And again, we look forward to seeing y'all for our next series, Love, Lies and Loyalty
and for the series to come.
We appreciate y'all, those who tuned in, those who are interested and like, share and follow
y'all engage with us.
(11:52):
Please, please, please post some things in our anonymous submission so we can, you know,
have something to talk about on those series.
But we appreciate y'all.
We love y'all and we look forward to seeing y'all for the next series.
And good night.
