Tyler (00:12):
"Hey there, my fur-tastic friends! Welcome back to The
Monkey the Cat Podcast! I’mMonkey, your favorite talking
cat, and today we’re diving intosomething that makes life SO
much more fun—laughter! Ourlesson today?
Humor can build bridges, but itshould never hurt.
Now, I LOVE to joke around!Whether it’s making silly faces

(00:33):
at my sister Brooklyn, teasingmy German Shepherd buddy Teddy,
or playfully sneaking up on mydad when he’s reading—humor is a
BIG part of my life! But guesswhat?
Not all jokes are funny toeveryone.
Sometimes, words that make oneperson laugh can make someone
else feel bad.
And I learned that lesson thehard way… with my dad and a very

(00:54):
grumpy squirrel.""It all startedone sunny morning in the
backyard.
Brooklyn and I were chasingbutterflies, Teddy was sniffing
around for new scents, and myshy sister Olivff was perched on
the fence, watching the birds.
Everything was great… until Ispotted a squirrel on a tree
branch, twitching his tiny noseat me.

(01:14):
I puffed up my chest, flicked mytail, and shouted,‘Hey, Mr.
Squirrel! Why are your cheeks sochubby?
Are you storing snacks for thewhole town?’ Brooklyn giggled.
Teddy chuckled.
Even Olivff let out a tinysnort.
But the squirrel?
Ohhh, he was NOT laughing.
His little paws curled intofists, and he chattered angrily.

(01:35):
‘EXCUSE ME?! My cheeks are thisbig because I work hard
collecting food! At least Idon’t sit around chasing my own
tail all day!’ Oof.
That stung.
But you know what?
He was right.
I had been teasing him, notmaking a friendly joke.
And the worst part?
I had made someone feel bad justto make others laugh.""I felt
awful, so I went inside to talkto Mom and Dad.

(01:58):
They always know what to do whenI mess up.
‘Mom, Dad… I think I hurtsomeone’s feelings with a joke,’
I admitted.
Dad set down his newspaper andgave me a wise look.
‘Monkey, humor is a wonderfulthing—it brings people together.
But if a joke makes someone feelsmall, then it’s not really
funny, is it?’ Mom nodded.

(02:19):
‘The best kind of humor is thekind that makes everyone feel
happy, not just a few.’ That’swhen I realized something
HUGE—laughter should be shared, not used as a way to tease or
make fun.""So, I did what I hadto do—I went back outside and
found the squirrel.
‘Hey, Mr.
Squirrel,’ I said, my taildrooping.

(02:39):
‘I’m really sorry.
I didn’t mean to make fun ofyou.
I was trying to be funny, but Irealize now that my words
weren’t very kind.’ The squirrelblinked.
Then he crossed his tiny armsand said,‘Hmph… well, at least
you admitted it.’ I perked up.
‘To make it up to you, I’ll tellyou a joke that you might
actually like! Ready?’ Hetwitched his whiskers.

(03:01):
‘Fine.
Go ahead.’ I grinned.
‘Why don’t squirrels tellsecrets in the trees?’ The
squirrel’s ears twitched.
‘Why?’‘Because the leaves arealways listening!’ For a second,
the squirrel just stared at me.
Then—he LAUGHED!‘Okay, okay,that was a good one!’ And just
like that, we were friendsagain.

(03:21):
I had learned my lesson—humorcan build bridges, but only if
it’s the right kind of humor."What We Learned Today🔹Good humor
brings people together, notapart.
🔹If a joke makes someone feelbad, it’s not funny—it’s
hurtful.
🔹When we hurt someone’sfeelings, it’s important to
apologize and make things right.

(03:42):
🔹The best jokes are the onesthat make EVERYONE laugh—yes,
even squirrels!"So, here’s mychallenge for YOU today: Tell a
joke that makes everyone feelgood!✅Try a silly riddle with
your friends!✅Share a fun jokewith your parents or teacher!✅
And most importantly—alwayscheck that your words make

(04:02):
people smile, not frown.
