"Hey there, my fur-tastic
friends! Welcome back to The
Monkey the Cat Podcast! I’mMonkey, your favorite talking
cat, and today’s episode is allabout something we all make,
every single day… sometimeswithout even realizing it.
Our lesson today?
Mistakes guide you toward betterchoices.
Now, no one likes makingmistakes… but what if I told you
(00:31):
that mistakes aren’t the end ofthe story—they’re the beginning
of making better decisions?
Let me tell you about the time Imade a pretty big mistake with…
peanut butter.
Yep.
Peanut butter.""It started oneafternoon when Mom—our smart and
snack-savvy accountant—left apeanut butter jar on the kitchen
counter.
She said,‘Monkey, this is forthe cookies I’m making later.
(00:54):
No paws in the jar!’ I nodded.
‘No problem!’ But the thing is…peanut butter is really hard to
resist.
Especially when you’re a curioustalking cat with a big spoon and
no self-control.
So while no one was looking… Idipped.
And then I dipped again.
And again.
By the time Brooklyn came in, Iwas stuck.
(01:15):
Literally.
My paw was jammed in the jar.
Peanut butter on my whiskers.
Sticky mess everywhere.
Brooklyn gasped.
‘Monkey… you’re not supposed towear the snack!’ Teddy walked
in, saw the mess, and just said,‘Ruh-roh.’ I felt terrible.
Guilty.
And VERY sticky.""Later, Momfound me trying to wipe peanut
(01:36):
butter off the cabinets.
She didn’t yell.
She didn’t get mad.
She just handed me a towel andsaid,‘So, what did you learn?’ I
mumbled,‘Don’t steal peanutbutter?’ She smiled.
‘That’s a start.
But also… when you make amistake, the best thing you can
do is clean it up, learn fromit, and do better next time.’
(01:57):
That really stuck with me.
(And not just the peanutbutter.) From that day on, I
asked before grabbing snacks.
I helped Mom with baking.
And I learned that mistakesdon’t make you bad—they help you
get better." What We LearnedToday🔹Everyone makes
mistakes—it’s how we respondthat matters.
🔹Mistakes can point us in theright direction—if we pay
(02:20):
attention.
🔹Owning up, fixing the mess, andtrying again are signs of
growth.
🔹Better choices often come fromlearning the hard way.
"So here’s my challenge for YOUtoday: Think about a mistake you
made—and ask yourself what ittaught you.
✅Did it show you a better way tohandle something?
(02:41):
✅Did it help you be more honest, careful, or kind?
✅Did it help you make a betterchoice the next time?
Because your mistakes aren’tjust slip-ups… they’re stepping
stones.
