Let me tell you about the day I tried to lead a team project and almost turned it into a disaster—because I forgot to listen to how others prefer to speak and share."

almost turned it into adisaster—because I forgot to

building a clubhouse out of oldboxes and leftover garden wood.

Brooklyn barked ideas.
Fast and loud.
Teddy suggested we write a list.
Neatly.
In order.
Max squawked ten different ideasin ten seconds.
Olivff… just quietly picked up apencil and drew what she
imagined.
And me?
I was trying to run the show.
‘Let’s build THIS!’‘Start overHERE!’‘No, no, no—don’t draw,

just talk!’ And before I knewit, Brooklyn was pouting, Teddy
was correcting me, Max flew off,and Olivff?
She gently set her drawing down…and walked away.
I flopped to the grass with asigh.
What went wrong?
That’s when Mom—walked by andsaid,‘Monkey, if you only hear
the voices that sound likeyours, you’ll miss the ones that

speak in different ways.’""So Ichanged my approach.
✅I asked Teddy to create theofficial plan.
✅I let Max pitch his ideas inhis own wild style.
✅I invited Brooklyn to be ourcheerleader and muscle.
✅And I studied Olivff’s drawingand asked her to lead the
design.

And guess what?
The clubhouse became incredible.
Stronger.
Smarter.
More creative.
Because everyone’s way ofsharing had a place.
