"Hey there, my fur-tastic friends! Welcome back to The
Monkey the Cat Podcast! I’mMonkey, your favorite talking
cat, and today’s episode isabout something very
special—something that holdsfriendships and families
together.
Our lesson today?
Trust builds like a brickwall—slowly but steadily.
Now, trust isn’t something youget all at once.

(00:33):
Nope! You build it, one littlebrick at a time—through honesty,
consistency, and kindness.
And let me tell you… I learnedthat lesson in a BIG way after I
broke a promise to Teddy.""Itall started one morning when
Teddy asked me for a favor.
‘Hey, Monkey,’ he said,‘can yousave me a spot under the tree
for our afternoon nap?

(00:54):
It’s my favorite spot and I’llbe back after my walk with Dad.’
I nodded, my tail flicking.
‘You got it, Teddy.
Your spot is safe with me!’ Butthen… the sun came out.
The tree looked extra comfy.
And Brooklyn wanted to play‘WhoCan Nap the Longest?’ So I
stretched out right in Teddy’sspot and… well… I fell asleep.

(01:15):
Teddy came back an hour later, and I woke up to the sound of
his paws stopping in the grass.
‘Monkey… I thought you weresaving my spot?’ he asked, his
ears tilted back.
I yawned and said,‘Oh! Uh… yeah,I was, but then I got tired
and…’ His tail dropped.
‘It’s okay,’ he mumbled, walkingaway.
But it wasn’t okay.

(01:35):
Not really.""For the next coupleof days, I noticed something
different.
Teddy still played with us, buthe didn’t ask me for help with
anything.
He didn’t share his snacks likehe used to, and he even chose a
new nap spot—one farther fromme.
That’s when I realized somethingbig: I had broken a brick of
trust.

(01:56):
So I went to Dad—who’s a teacherand always full of wisdom—and
asked,‘How do I fix it?’ He putdown his coffee and said,‘Well,
Monkey, trust is like building abrick wall.
Each time you do what you sayyou’re going to do, you add a
brick.
But when you break a promise,it’s like removing one of those
bricks.
The good news is—you can rebuildit.

(02:16):
Slowly, but steadily.’ I nodded.
It was time to startrebuilding.""The next day, I
brought Teddy his favoritesnack—peanut butter bones.
‘Hey, Teddy,’ I said softly.
‘I’m really sorry I broke mypromise.
You trusted me, and I didn’tkeep my word.
I’d like to start fixing that…one brick at a time.’ He looked

(02:38):
at me for a moment, then nodded.
‘Okay, Monkey.
Thanks for saying that.’ Soevery day after that, I kept my
promises.
🔹If I said I’d meet him at thepark, I showed up early.
🔹If I offered to help, Ifollowed through.
🔹And slowly but surely… Teddystarted trusting me again.
It didn’t happen overnight.

(02:59):
But it did happen.
And that’s when I learned—realtrust is built with actions, not
just words." What We LearnedToday🔹Trust takes time—it’s
built one honest, caring actionat a time.
🔹A broken promise can hurt, butsincere effort can help rebuild
what’s lost.
🔹When you make a mistake, owningup to it is the first step

(03:21):
toward trust.
🔹Trust isn’t about beingperfect—it’s about being
dependable.
"So, here’s my challenge for YOUtoday: Be someone others can
trust.
✅If you say you’ll dosomething—do it.
✅If you mess up—apologize andfix it.
✅And most importantly—keepadding those trust bricks, one

(03:41):
day at a time.
Thanks for tuning in to TheMonkey the Cat Podcast! Don’t
