You already know I'm your boy,I'm your man, I'm your host, I'm

(00:25):
You can find me on YouTube, facebook, at Eyon Johnson, ok,
and I am very excited to be backwith you guys.
I have had a very, very busylast few weeks and it's been
tough.
It's been tough, veryinteresting, interesting man.
Um, my mom was in the hospital.
(00:46):
She's out.
I've had several occasions whereI've had to preach over the
last few weeks, not necessarilysomething I look forward to.
It's just mostly because of howdifficult it is on the mind and
the spirit.
But I have done what I had todo.
Thanks be to god, man, man andI, and even my wife you know she
wasn't feeling too wellrecently she's doing better,
(01:09):
both her and my mom.
Everybody's doing better.
I thank God that everybody isall right, man, and I am just
here yet again, man, to breaksome bread with you guys.
Okay, man, I tell you, theselast few weeks have truly shown
(01:47):
me how important it is for us toremain in the fight and to
remain steadfast in whateverwe're doing, and that is what I
want to talk about today.
I already knew this is where Iwanted to go, based on how my
last few weeks have gone and howI have been feeling over the
last few weeks.
The topic for my church thisyear, our word of the year or
topic for the year, is actuallybeing steadfast.
Um, coming from the book ofHebrews, chapter three, and you
(02:12):
can go ahead and read that onyour own time, and so I kind of
want to dive into that today.
My last few weeks have shown mehow important it is to be
steadfast man.
Um, what is?
What does it mean to besteadfast man?
What does it mean to besteadfast?
What does steadfast mean?
And I'll just kind of diveright into it.
Some of the words that come tomind when I think about the word
(02:38):
steadfast consistent,consistency, stability, firm I
saw one definition that I kindof pieced together with
something else Firmly fixed andsettled in place.
So, firm and settled, that'swhat.
(03:01):
That's what being steadfast is.
And, uh, committed, anchored.
And then, when I think about theword anchored, an anchor is
heavy, an anchor is when ananchor is dropped and I really
didn't waste no time, right, right, when an anchor gets
(03:23):
dropped, an anchor does not moveand obviously it depends on how
heavy it is.
But when you drop an anchor, you ever see a ship, you see how
that ship drops the anchor.
Those big crew ships may havemore than one, but when a ship
drops an anchor, it doesn't justdrop the anchor and then, oh,
(03:45):
the anchor is heavier than theship, so the ship won't move.
No, when you drop an anchor, itdrops down into the water and
it actually goes a little bitunderneath the surface,
underneath the water.
It'll drop down and go belowthe dirt that is under the water
.
It'll drop down and go belowthe dirt that is under the water
(04:08):
.
And now, if the ship were totry to move, it's not just being
weighed down by the anchor, butthe anchor would have to.
It's like it's dropped and itcatches, as Jamaicans would say,
it catches onto the ground.
And now for the ship to move, that anchor would have to not
(04:29):
just drag the weight of theanchor, but it would have to
drag the weight of the anchorthrough the dirt that is below
the water and that makes ittougher for the ship to move.
That makes it tougher for theanchor to move.
So when something is anchored,it is, it becomes immovable.
Ok, I think about FirstCorinthians, chapter 15.
(04:52):
It tells us, our belovedbrethren, to be steadfast and
unmovable.
That is what steadfast is Allright, what steadfast is All
right, and being steadfast as itpertains to not just like our
faith and our mindset, our stateof mind, to think about being
(05:16):
steadfast in terms of the moralcompass chronicles.
I think about being being loyalto the compass.
Watch this, watch this.
(05:36):
Being steadfast in whatever itis that we're doing.
You are.
It is your job to be consistentand stable and firm and settled
to your compass when youdetermine the proper direction.
However, it is that onedetermines the direction that
(05:59):
they want to go in in life, thedirection that they believe God
is leading them in.
Once you determine that youremain on that path and pointed
and traveling in that properdirection.
That's what I think about whenI say being loyal or being
(06:24):
consistent to the compass, remaining on the right path in
spite of what may come.
And storms keep on raging in mylife.
Sometimes it's hard to eventell the night from day, based
(06:48):
on the things that are going onin our lives.
That is when it is mostimportant for us to remain
steadfast.
You only, a lot of times youthink about traveling, you think
about the compass correct andyou know you're going in a
particular direction.
So now we're thinking abouttraveling and a lot of times
(07:08):
you're traveling and you haveyour GPS or you have your map
and sometimes you may have todetour because of something that
is going on in on the road oron.
You know there's a lot going onwith planes and flights and
stuff.
Right now you may have todetour based off the weather or
(07:28):
based on what's going on in thesky, based on what's going on on
your path.
But you only detour if you must.
You only detour if it's bestfor you to do so and if it makes
sense.
That is when you you callinaudible, if I can put it in
(07:50):
football terms, when somebodycalls inaudible, they are
changing directions.
They are sort of altering theplan that they had because of
the circumstance, the plan thatthey had because of the
circumstance.
You have to alter your plansometimes.
(08:10):
All right, but it is importantfor us when we figure out and we
determine that a particularpath is what's best for us.
A particular path is one thatis best for our family.
It is important that we remainsteadfast on that path,
maintaining a firm resistance toany temptation or any idea to
(08:43):
desert or betray our currentposition.
That's another uh definition Iconjured up based off a few
things I saw.
Being steadfast is the idea ofmaintaining a firm resistance to
anything or anyone that wouldcause me to betray my current
(09:11):
position and where I amcurrently going, the road I am
currently traveling on.
Sometimes the cares of life andthe things that go on in our
(09:32):
lives, they cause us to want tojump ship and, as I just said,
they may cause us to want todesert or betray the plan I I
talk about.
I have, I heard this.
I heard Bishop Dexter Edmondone time preaching about not
what did he say?
(09:52):
I'm sorry, and I talked to oneof my little brothers about this
all the time.
He was talking about deviatingfrom the plan and I don't want
to go too much into that and Idon't want to go too much into
(10:15):
that, but that is what happenswhen a lot of times, these
things in our life andtemptation is not always oh,
temptation, you know from theenemy, but you know just these
things in our life.
They cause us oftentimes todeviate from the plan and to
deviate oftentimes to deviatefrom the plan and to deviate
from the direction that we aregoing in.
It gets dangerous when we nowstart to deviate.
(10:37):
Based on these things in ourlife, instead of remaining
steadfast, we may find ourselvesdeviating from the purpose and
the calling that is on our lives.
A lot of times there issomewhere that God wants us to
be and, based on the things thathappen, we find ourselves
(10:58):
deviating from what God wants usto be doing and where he wants
us to be heading.
And All right, but that's wherethat's what being steadfast is
in spite of Nevertheless I wasjust talking to my brother
recently about a message weheard.
Nevertheless, in spite ofwhat's going on, although the
(11:24):
storms keep on raging in my life, although it is hard for me to
tell the night from day, although trials and tribulations
they are constantly arising, although we are living in
perilous times, as the wordtells me and as we currently see
(11:46):
, if you are somebody who hastwo eyes, you have two ears you
are able to see what is going onin this world.
You are able to hear what isgoing on in this world.
You can see and hear thesethings, and you know that we are
(12:07):
currently living in periloustimes.
Although we are living inperilous times, I will remain
steadfast in my calling.
I will remain steadfast on thejob.
I will remain steadfast in myschooling, in my calling, in my
(12:32):
purpose.
Nevertheless, I will remainsteadfast.
Nevertheless, I will remainconsistent.
I will remain anchored andunmovable in the things that I
know to be true.
We live in a world where manypeople and I don't want to go
(12:55):
too into this, because this isnot the topic for today, but,
quite frankly, this is the moralcompass chronicles and truth
comes out right.
So I know I'm living in a worldwhere there are people who
don't know who God is.
They don't know who God is.
They don't know who God is.
There are many people who servethemselves, and I don't want to
(13:28):
go there.
I don't want to go there.
You know what happens when I gothere, so I'm going to to go
there.
I don't want to go there.
You know what happens when I gothere, so I'm gonna leave that
alone.
We're living in that type ofworld, though.
My brothers and sisters,beloved ones.
It is important for us, those ofus who know the truth, to
remain steadfast in who God is,what it is that he wants from us
(13:55):
.
It is imperative that duringthese times, we remain unmovable
, we stay and we stand firm, firmly fixed and settled in
place.
Very important for us to dothat.
Very important I started totalk about Very important.
I started to talk about thethings that we go through my, my
brothers, my sisters.
(14:16):
Yo, it's tough man.
There is so much that we dealwith oh my God, bro, can I get
real for a second, or can I stayreal?
There is so much that we gothrough.
(14:37):
Oh, my goodness.
There's so much that we'redoing, so much that we have done
, so much that we have gonethrough and so much that we are
currently going through.
For somebody, it's work, it'sthe work situation For somebody.
(14:58):
Remaining steadfast on the jobis where your focus needs to be.
Whether that's not the job thatyou want to have or you're not
working, you're looking for ajob.
You're you.
You know there you got problemswith, with co-workers or your
supervisors or the the actualjob that it is you're doing.
(15:21):
I used to be in sales and Ifound it difficult to be in
sales because it wasn't oftenthat I believed in what I was
selling.
A lot of times I was in salesand I worked a particular job
and it was because I needed ajob.
And so now I'm finding myselfselling and sometimes, when
(15:42):
you're selling, you're in sales, you find yourself selling out.
Watch it now Some of us thatare in sales.
We're in sales and we're makingmoney, but we're selling out in
order to make that money andwe're in sales and we're taking
advantage of people becausethat's where our bread is
(16:02):
buttered in sales.
Oftentimes that it wasdifficult for me to for me to be
in sales because I didn't workmany jobs that I believed in and
it was tough for me to sellproducts to people who didn't
need it and it was tough for meto exaggerate what the customer
(16:25):
needed.
And oftentimes we're workingfor companies and we're working
for individuals who it is theirjob to get us to sell.
No matter what, at the end ofthe day, it was our job to sell
the product.
(16:46):
I've heard my pastor say it'stough for a Christian to be a
lawyer.
And lawyers, don't, don't killme now, don't crucify me,
because sometimes, when you're alawyer, you've got to lie and
sometimes, when you're a lawyer, you have to avoid what you know
to be the truth in order todefend your client.
(17:07):
And that's why I'm working onbecoming a mediator and not a
lawyer, because a mediator is onthe side of the truth.
A mediator is is Switzerland, where you find yourself sitting
on the fence between two parties, because that's where the truth
(17:29):
lies, oftentimes right in themiddle.
Right, there's three sides toevery story right, your truth,
my truth and the truth, which istypically a combination of both
of those things.
Right?
So oftentimes, work is where Ineed to remain steadfast.
And so now me in sales.
(17:50):
I had to move myself out ofthat, because Now it becomes a
problem of ethics.
Right, but somebody isstruggling on the job, somebody
is struggling in school, where?
School?
It may be tough for you to keepup, maybe not so much high
school, and I know even highschool is tough for some people
(18:12):
but college, maybe it's tough tokeep up with the workload and
work a job at the same time.
Maybe, maybe it's tough tobalance school and the social
life and all theextracurriculars that college
has to offer.
Maybe, maybe you've graduated, know and gotten your bachelor's
(18:32):
and you're on to furtherschooling.
You're looking to become adoctor.
You're looking to become anurse.
You're looking to do thesedifferent things.
A lawyer, as I just mentioned,right?
Nothing wrong with that, Isuppose.
If that's the path you want tobe on, just be ethical about it.
But school is tough and some ofus need to remain steadfast in
(18:54):
school.
Our calling and our purpose, whatever those things may be,
you know and come on, belovedones, those of you who are
listening to this, you know whoyou are and you know who God has
called you to be.
(19:14):
And you know and if you don'tallow me to help you to figure
it out Seek the Lord, seek yefirst, the kingdom of God and
his righteousness and everythingthat you are looking for, the
answers that you are looking for, the answers that you are
looking for will be added untoyou.
(19:35):
I assure you of that fact.
I know that to be true.
I have found my calling, I havefound my purpose in this world
and in God, and I want to helpyou do the same thing.
I want to help you do the samething because there is a need
(20:01):
for you, you who are listening.
There is a need in this worldfor you and what you bring to
the table what you have to offer, what God has placed inside of
you.
There is a need for it.
I heard my sister say there isa need in the earth, and you've
heard me mention this on thispodcast.
There is a need for it.
I heard my sister say there isa need in the earth, and you've
(20:21):
heard me mention this on thispodcast.
There is a need in the earthfor who you are and what you
bring to the table.
It is necessary Because who youare and what you bring to the
table after you remain steadfastthrough everything that it is,
you are going through the wayGod is going to use you.
(20:45):
And allow me to prophesy intothe life of somebody here today,
if you're under the sound of myvoice remaining steadfast
through the trials and thetribulations, through the
difficulties.
Some of us have had difficultiesgrowing up, through our
childhood, all the way to thispoint, some of the things that
(21:11):
we have been through.
I talked about some of thestuff that we're doing currently
.
Right, some of us are working,Some of us are in school, but
what about the stuff that wehave gone through in our lives?
Some of these very unfortunatethings?
I don't even want to startnaming stuff, bro, but I was
(21:32):
just talking about this tosomebody.
Some of these things that wehave gone through in our lives
we have the scars to prove itSome of us have been physically,
mentally, emotionally,spiritually and financially
(21:58):
abused, and we have the scars toprove it.
But I want to encouragesomebody on today, I want to
prophesy into the life ofsomebody on today that the fact
that you remained steadfastthrough it all and you have the
(22:21):
scars to prove it it's thosevery same scars that you are
going to be able to use to helpsomebody else get through what
they're going through.
It's those very same scars andand you know what?
I was saying that two scars cando two things to us.
(22:42):
Right, and it's getting alittle warm in here, I don't
know about you, but, but scarshave the ability to do two
things oftentimes.
And and two things that I wantto highlight right, those scars
can remind me of the pain.
Those scars, when I see themand I feel them and I remember
(23:06):
them, those scars can put meinto a dark place sometimes, and
I'm talking to us, I'm talkingabout us, right, those scars can
put us In a dark place wherethey Remind us of those things
that we have dealt with, thoseplaces in our life that we have
(23:28):
been, the abuse that we wentthrough Mentally, emotionally,
physically, spiritually mentally, emotionally, physically,
spiritually.
Those scars can remind us andalter our mood negatively.
But those scars can also upliftus.
(23:51):
Those scars can remind us thatyo, I went through hell and I
came out alive.
I went through that fire.
I went through that mentalabuse.
I went through that depressionand that anxiety.
(24:12):
I went through that physicalabuse when I was a child.
I went through those things andI have the scars to prove it.
But those scars remind me thatI went through it and I came out
(24:33):
of it.
I went through it and I had toendure it and I dealt with it,
but I came out of it.
Those situations knocked medown but they didn't knock me
out.
(24:54):
The devil tried to use them tokill me.
Now here is where he comes in,because oftentimes these things
that we went through, god didn'tput us through it.
Sometimes, these things that wewent through and we blame the
devil for everything, but it'sGod who gave us the choice.
(25:14):
But it's God who gave us thechoice, and the enemy has a way
of impressing upon people'sminds and their hearts and
allowing them to do evil thingsand tempting them to do evil
things.
And a lot of times we are onthe receiving end of that evil
(25:36):
and he tried to use it to killme.
He tried to use it to keep mebound.
He tried to use it to keep meout, but I'm reminded.
I'm reminded that I'm stillhere today because God kept me.
I'm alive today because of hisgrace and he kept me so that I
(26:04):
wouldn't let go.
I almost let go.
There was a time where, I knowyou felt like you couldn't take
life anymore.
A lot of these times, and a lotof times rather, these
different things lead us andlead some of us to suicide.
They lead some of us todrinking and smoking and and
trying to find a vice in thisworld to cope.
(26:27):
Some of us are cuttingourselves.
Some of us have tried to killourselves ourselves.
Some of us have tried to killourselves.
Some of us have tried to harmourselves because you know what
the pain of that thing that Iendured?
It is too much and it was toomuch for me to want to live with
(26:50):
, and so people we findourselves inflicting pain on
ourselves now in order to escapethat pain that we have been so
accustomed to.
But you, my brother, you'restill here.
You, my sister, you are stillhere, and I'm here to encourage
(27:17):
you today to remain steadfast.
I'm here to remind you andencourage you that those things
that you went through do notdefine who you are.
Those things that you dealtwith, they are not who you are
(27:52):
and they will not Determine thetrajectory of the rest of your
life.
You will determine that.
You will decide that, and Iwant to encourage you to be
strong, and be strong in theLord and the power of his might.
(28:16):
Where you are weak, he is strong.
Where you are poor, he's rich.
And he just sent me To remindyou Of these things.
Have you Not known Beloved ones?
Have you not known Beloved ones?
Have you not heard that theeverlasting God, the creator Of
(28:42):
the ends of the earth, thecreator of all things as we know
it, he fainted not, neither ishe weary.
He gives power to those who areweak, and he will continue to
increase your strength.
(29:02):
This is your reminder.
This is your reminder.
I love you.
I'm praying for you all, man, because we're all going through
something, we're all dealingwith something, we're all
(29:23):
dealing with something, and Ijust want you to know that
you're not in it alone.
You're not in it alone, man.
This is the Moral CompassChronicles Until next time,
until we meet again.
