Speaker 1 (00:00):
Grace and peace.
Grace and peace, one and all.
This is another rendition ofthe Moral Compass Chronicles.
I'm your man, Eyon Jay man.
It's a blessing to be here yetagain, man, I tell you my life
has been so busy lately, man.
I got so much going on and ifyou know me and if you know me
personally, you know some of thethings I'm talking about.
Man, and I'm blessed, I'mblessed man.
(00:22):
The ups man and I'm, I'mblessed, I'm blessed man.
The ups, the downs, the ebbs, the flow.
Let me tell you something.
Ebbs and flows.
Rather, let me tell yousomething about these ups and
downs.
I am figuring out, I amnavigating the downs.
I am.
I find myself, um, because, listen, the ups are going to be
there and we know the downs aregoing to be there too, but how
(00:44):
we navigate the downs when theycome, a lot of times that's the
measure of a man, all right, andso I don't know who needs to
hear this, but start to attackthose downs.
My brother and I was justtalking about this earlier.
Actually, when you're down, youfeel down and you, you know,
life is a roller coaster, right, and we're up one day and we're
(01:08):
down another day.
Whether you know, maybe it'ssomething going on internally,
externally, emotionally,mentally, spiritually,
financially, whatever it may be,relationship wise.
I find that I'm learning how tonavigate those down, those
(01:28):
downs and those lulls a lotbetter than I once did, man.
So take it day by day.
I don't know who this is for, Idon't.
This is not where I plan to go.
This is not what this episodeis about, this chronicle.
But take it day by day, man,and work on those downs.
Work on those downs and how youhandle them all.
Right now, I have a veryinteresting little topic here
(01:48):
today, and this one's not goingto be a very long one.
All right, I'm going to do moreof these like little shorts as
well, because I have a lot ofthings and I just want to kind
of jump on and chop it up withyou guys about right.
So I have a radio show that Ilove, right?
I'm you know I'm a sports guy.
Y'all know I love sports, andso I listen to sports talk radio
all the time, and one of myfavorite shows it's the 6a on
(02:10):
espn radio, 6 am to 10 pm, orpause 6 am to 10 am.
Um, the dph on rothenberg showgreat show, great set of guys,
man, they do great radio best.
I've heard here in new yorklow-key, shout out to the
michael k show as well, the oldone, um, sorry guys, but um,
these guys, they have a segmenton their show called and it's
(02:33):
typically on fridays they dothis.
It's called the morning roast, right, the morning roast, and we
all know what a roast is, right, we've seen the roasts on tv
and stuff where they're roastingsome, someone or, and you know,
typically it's jokes and stuff, but they're roasting someone or
, and you know, typically it'sjokes and stuff, but this
morning roast, typically, andit's not morning time right now.
So I'm going to call this theMonday evening roast.
That's what I'm going to referto this, as it's about 10 PM, 10
(02:54):
, 30 PM, eastern standard time.
So I'm going to refer to thisas the Monday evening roast.
Now the point of this segment isto roast or discuss, you know,
bring up and talk about thingsthat we don't.
We just don't like Things thathappen in society.
You know, air quotes, just theway things are right, that we
(03:19):
don't agree with or we don'tlike.
Okay and so, and what I want todo is I want you guys to text
me and reply and email me somedifferent things that you just
don't like about society, right?
Just the way things are and theway people are, right, I want
(03:39):
you guys to send me some stuff, and may, hey, guess what, if
it's good enough, if it's a, ifit's a good talking point, and I
think you know we can have somegood discussion about it.
Hey, maybe you'll hear me talkabout your roast here on the air
, okay, so let me give you my Iand I and I'm going to try to
make this quick I want to roasteverybody everywhere who
(04:05):
specializes in a particularfield, or you specialize in a
particular industry orparticular thing, whatever that
may be.
Okay, those people who arespecialists in something, who
make everybody else feel liketrash, bro, okay, I'm roasting
(04:25):
those people.
Okay, let me elaborate Peoplewho specialize in a particular
field or a particular industry, particular area, and anybody
else who does not specialize inthat thing, right, right, for
everyone else who doesn'tspecialize in that thing that
you're great at, they are in acompletely different field.
(04:47):
You, you find yourself makingthese people, these other people
, everyone else, feel like trashand like they're not working as
hard as you are and what theydo, you know they don't have to
work as hard at what they do asyou do at what you specialize in
.
Okay, I'm roasting all of y'alleverywhere, bro.
(05:09):
Okay, and I don't want to gettoo specific.
But one thing I'll say is Inoticed that among construction
workers a lot constructionworkers, contractors and listen,
I got work going on on my houseright now, me and my wife doing
work, getting renovations done.
I thank God that mybrother-in-law, who's helping us
with the work he's not likethat, I thank God.
(05:30):
You know, he's actually mad, cool and humble about how he the
work he does.
My friend, who's helping me aswell, general contractor, does
everything also, he's not likethat.
These are guys who are humbleand know, they're always,
they're willing to teach whatthey know and stuff, bro, but
I'm so.
(05:50):
But I noticed that a lot ofamong contractors and people who
do work on houses, people whowork with their hands right, air
quotes you work with your hands, right, you, you work with your
hands.
These are people who feel likenobody else works as hard as
they do.
I'm roasting all of y'all, bro,I'm roasting, yes, you, I'm
(06:13):
roasting you who thinks that youwork harder than everybody else
because you specialize inwhatever it is you do.
You feel like you work harderthan everybody else.
I'm here to tell you you do not, sorry, you don't.
I don't know who needs to hearthis, but you don't.
(06:33):
Yo, I don't know who you needto send this to, right who?
You, my friend, who's listeningto this?
You know somebody.
Somebody just came to your mindand you want to send this to
them.
So please do and listen whenyou send it to them.
Tell them that it's me tellingthem.
It's not you, all right, so youdon't want to worry about
getting in trouble, it's not you.
Tell them, yo, this guy saidthis, not me.
All right, I'm roasting ally'all.
(06:54):
Bro, you specialize insomething and you just swear
that nobody works as hard as youdo.
I'm sorry to break it to you,but that's not true.
Okay, what you do is not moreimportant than what everybody
else does.
Okay, what you do is not betterthan what anybody else does.
(07:16):
Okay, there are people who areextremely unassuming, who are
doing more for society than youare.
I don't know who needs to hearthat, bro.
There are people who are like Iknow you're working with your
hands and you know you're messy, hard hat and and and work boots
(07:40):
, and you know, cut gloves andall of that.
Okay, cool, cool, bro, but mywife is a nurse.
Okay, let's keep it 100, bro.
My boys work in it and, yes, they may sit behind a computer,
but they can do more with acomputer than you do with your
hands.
Okay, just to be clear, andit's them same computers.
(08:08):
That's putting certainindustries out of work, so let's
keep it 100, bro, what you dois not more important than what
everybody else does.
Okay, and I hate that, becauseyou know I don't build houses,
but I have worked with peoplewho do.
And these guys, I swear, it'slike you come into their
industry, you come into theirfield and it's like you know
(08:34):
what I'm saying.
What I do is just nothing atall.
That's not work, right, likethese guys who run the radio
show that came up with thissegment that I'm utilizing right
now and I'm giving them creditfor it.
Right, this segment that I'mutilizing right now and I'm
giving them credit for it, right, like these people who work
with their hands and you know Idon't know what, cut what color
collar.
That is the, you know, theconstruction workers and stuff,
(08:54):
whatever, whatever color, colorcollar, that is blue collar,
whatever, like they would lookat somebody who hosts a radio
show, somebody who does apodcast, like me you know
somebody who works in it, likemy brother does, or or or this
bro.
They look at us like we arenothing to them, bro, like we
don't do anything to them.
You know what I'm saying?
(09:15):
Man, you're roast, you'regetting roasted, you're getting
roasted, bro, getting roasted.
Like these are the same peoplewho can't.
They don't even they.
They would need help getting tothis podcast, like they would
need help figuring out how todownload the app to get to this
podcast.
You know I'm saying that's whatwe're talking about.
I'm sorry, bro, what you do isnot more important than
(09:38):
everybody else.
What you do is not better thanwhat anybody else does.
It's not more beneficial tosociety than every other
industry.
I'm sorry to break it to you.
You're not that important, because if what you do makes you
feel like you're more importantthan everybody else, I'm sorry
(09:59):
to break it to you, but what youdo is not that important.
Sorry, and that's my morningroast, and on the radio show, I
wouldn't have this much time toexplain, you know so.
So that's my, that's my Mondayevening roast for you right
there.
Okay, that's it.
That's all I got.
That's all I got Shorter, shorter episode than usual.
(10:20):
That's all I got.
You know, I want to leave thisopen for discussion and I want
you guys to reach out to me.
When you hear this, bro, youtell me something that you hate
about society, that you hatewhat people do, yo bring it to
me and, like I said, if it's agood talking point, you know,
and it's something that I candiscuss, I'll get on here and
I'll have some hosting here soonwith me and co-host rather, and
(10:44):
we'll discuss some of thesethings.
All right, man, I love you guys.
I appreciate you, man.
