The power of community shines throughout this lively episode as Chris Bennett takes us behind the scenes of his recent comedy show at the Elks Lodge. What began as entertainment transformed into meaningful community impact, raising over $1,500 for local youth charities. The genuine emotion in Chris's voice as he thanks those who supported the event—including his parents who attended—reveals just how much these connections matter in small-town life.

Brian from Pinedale drops by to promote this Saturday's Pinedale Chuckwagon Festival, a nostalgic journey back to pioneer days with authentic chuck wagon cooking. The $20 plates will benefit the volunteer fire department, while the simultaneous "Pies for Pinedale" event supports the local library and heritage preservation. These dual celebrations perfectly capture how rural communities maintain their identity while looking toward the future.

The show takes exciting turns with a surprise call from Nashville recording artist Jake Bush, who shares details about his upcoming album "Barroom Brothers and Sisters" releasing August 8th. When Jake reveals his new single "Hole in the Wall" was written by George Strait and his son, it adds a touch of country royalty to this already special episode. Meanwhile, comedian Crickette Gill offers a heartwarming perspective about performing in Show Low, describing how her initial hesitation about a "conservative redneck town" quickly transformed into admiration for the welcoming audience.

Through trivia games, table topics, and motivational quotes, Chris weaves together the diverse personalities that make small-town radio so authentic. This episode isn't just about entertainment—it's about the threads that connect us, the laughter we share, and the ways we support each other through community events and shared experiences.

Ready to experience some chuck wagon cooking or hear Jake Bush's George Strait-penned track? Follow along with the Morning Brew and discover why these small-town connections create such lasting impact. What local event will you be supporting this weekend?

Over 226 of our closest friendscame to laugh and have a good
time and it was such a good show, cricket and I had a caller
call in earlier, brian fromPinedale, and he says what do

(11:08):
your comedians think of oursmall town audiences out here?
So tell us a little bit aboutyour experience up here and what
you thought.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
Okay, well, you already know what you told me
before I came up here.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I did.
I like to give the comedianskind of a lay of the land to
just let them know, and I don'tlike politics.
So that's the main thing.
But I worded it in a way.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Am I able to tell them what you told me?
Yeah, go ahead, you can say it.
Chris told me that it was aconservative redneck town and I,
being a small girl from thesouth side of Chicago, have no
idea what a conservative redneckis.
So I was Googling it all week, you know, trying to figure out
what I was in for and rememberwhat I said.
When you told me that, I saiddo they know that I'm black?

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Yeah, they knew that you were on the fire.
You know what you said.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
What did I say?

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Not yet.
Oh, you said what did I say?
Not yet.
You said not yet.
I shouldn't have texted that.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
I was just being funny when you said that I was
like uh-oh, and then the pictureon the flyer was in black and
white.
I'm like this is not working.
And then, but I tell you, Goahead.
But I tell you guys, I didn'teven have any expectations.
I was like I'm just going to doit and just pray that it all

(12:27):
turns out for the best.
And from the moment I got there, everyone in that town that I
came across was just cool.
Everyone was so cool.
I was just like, oh my God,this is the most chill
conservative redneck town I'veever been in.
And the show, the crowd, oh myGod, I just had to hug every one
of them.
They were phenomenal.
They were phenomenal.

(12:48):
They were ready to laugh, theywere ready to party, they were
engaged.
They were so supportive it was.
I absolutely want to come back.
Like I want to come backtomorrow.
Yeah, come back.

Speaker 1 (12:58):

more folks with me, some morefunny folks.
