Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the Horn Auto
Center Studios Chris Bennett and
the Morning Brew.
It's Taco Bout Something Good.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Tuesday Janine and
I'm going to start by sharing my
good news story.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
Okay, I think you'll
love this because I know you
love horses.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Yes, I do.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Well, there were two
University of Calgary students
that were on a canoe trip andthey're paddling down.
And it was just relaxing and itturned into a life-saving
mission.
Anna and Ava were enjoying thesun when they spotted a horse
standing in the river under thebridge, and nearby they saw the
reason A young foal wasstruggling in deep water and it
(00:36):
was pinned up against a bridgeand it was barely keeping its
head above surface.
So without hesitation, the twostudents sprang into action and
Gleag, a former lifeguard, swamout and supported the foal,
while the other one helped steerthem to safety.
But once they got the foal toland, janine, a new problem
appeared.
The mother had ran off, soevery time they tried to leave,
(01:01):
the foal would go back in thewater.
So the women gently loaded theexhausted animal into their
canoe and took them on a littleriver cruise, and he even took a
little nap on the way.
And eventually they connectedwith the local First Nations
community member who identifiedthe foal, and they helped
reunite the foal with his mom.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
How adorable.
I love that one, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
So thanks to those
two brave paddlers with big
hearts, there you go.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yeah, that's an
awesome one.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Yeah, all right,
janine, let's hear your good
news on this.
Talk About Something GoodTuesday All right.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
I love these ones
because they kind of inspire us
all to maybe think about doingthis.
You always see those lemonadestands, right?
Well, a kid in Long Island hisname is Will Burrell is in the
news after he launched his ownburger stand letting all
veterans eat for free.
It's called Will's SmashBurgers and he was given the
profits all to theveterans-related charities and
(01:57):
other people then just swampedhis burger stand because of that
.
Super, super cool.
And this is the other funnything when you look it up Will's
Smash Burgers, they said theburgers were just unbelievably
good.
That's another side note.
And then I also love how manyof you guys just love all the
raccoon videos you know onInstagram and all the baby
people who have raccoons as pets.
(02:18):
I wish I could have a raccoon,but I guess it's not allowed
here in Arizona.
Just FYI, I know A sheriff'sdepartment near Denver shared
this photo of a wildlifeofficial saving a baby raccoon
that had crawled up into a semi, sleeping in the engine
compartment and it didn't wantto come out.
It was nice and warm in there.
They eventually got it to comeout and it's hanging from the
(02:39):
little pole.
You can just see it and theyrelease it back into the wild.
It's so cute.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
I love raccoons.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
They kind of scare me
.
Oh, they're darling.
They're like really super coolfunny cats, but better than cats
, I think better than cats.
That's just my take on it.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
I love that you know
that they are not allowed as
pets.
That means you've looked intoit.
Dang it?
Oh, yes, I have.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
No, I've looked into
it and I've looked into
squirrels, I've looked at.
Yeah, we're not allowed to dothat in Arizona.
A lot of States don't allow youknow little rabbit animals to
be used as pets and that kind ofthing.
We keep them in the wild.
But I love raccoons.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Dang it.
Your husband should be thankingthe state of Arizona for those
laws.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
So now I'm kind of
working toward a sugar glider.
If you buy a domestic sugar, have you seen the cool sugar?
Speaker 1 (03:21):
gliders.
They are adorable, oh I lovethem.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
I know I know I have
problems.
It's because my donkey stillhasn't given birth and I'm just
amazed.
I know she just I think I'vemisread her cues and it's more
my fault now and I'm just nowI'm ignoring her, I'm not even.
No, I'm checking her all thetime.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
But yeah, she's.
I hope you give birth I knowDang it.
Well, thank you for sharingsome good news on this.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Talk about something
good Tuesday and having fun with
this.
Have a good one, Chris.
Speaker 1 (03:52):

Good Tuesday and you guys havesomething real good coming up.
Yeah, good tasting and good.
Yes, that's right, not thisweekend, but next weekend,
august 2nd.
What's going on in Pinedale?
Speaker 4 (07:24):
All the great ladies
in Pinedale are baking pies
homemade, traditional pies.
They're going to sell them atthe community center on August
2nd during the Chuckwagon event, that's right, the Chuckwagon
event.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
if you have never
been, it is one of the coolest
small-town traditions I haveever seen and it raises money
for the Pinedale volunteerfirefighters and helps them in
purchasing life-saving equipment, and so it's a really great
cause.
And basically you go back intime and people have these truck
(08:00):
wagons, like the pioneers did,and they're cooking over what's
it called?
It's over juniper oak orcharcoal, but then what's the
device that they use?
Oh, dutch oven, oh, dutch oven, that's it called.
It's over juniper oak orcharcoal, but then what's the
device that they use?
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Oh, dutch oven, Dutch
oven, that's right.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
That's the best part.
Yeah, and you guys, this yearyou have ten chuck wagons and so
people can go around and justthey get to vote on which chuck
wagon is the most authentic.
Oh, nice, okay, so youbasically go back to the future,
back in time, check out thetruck wagons, then you can see
what each truck wagon has tooffer as far as food, and then
(08:37):
you take your ticket and thenyou buy food from that truck
wagon Right.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
They start selling
tickets at 10 o'clock.
At noontime dinner is servedwhen all the wagons definitely
have their food cooked Rightright.
And then you find a place tosit and eat and enjoy the
cuisine.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Nice, get there early
so you can get your tickets and
then, in addition to theChuckwagon Festival going on at
the same time, which is at thePinedale Community Center the
Pinedale Community Center, likeyou said, they are selling pies
as well to raise money for thePinedale Library and the
Heritage House, which is where Ifilmed my comedy.
(09:16):
Special Small Town, famous, yes.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
We need to get people
to come out.
We've got ten wagons.
We do not want to waste food.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
We don't want to have
any food left over.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Or pies, or pies.
We need the pies gone too.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
Yes, so everybody
mark your calendars for August
2nd.
Head to Pinedale.
Starting at what time?
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Be there by 10
o'clock at the latest, because
they start selling tickets forfood at 10 o'clock and if you
want what you want to eat, youbetter get there to get the
ticket early, and then the foodstarts being served at 12
o'clock and there's activitiesthere.
They have a little band goingon and there's some other
vendors from the local marketthat come, and so there's
(10:01):
activities to keep you busyuntil dinner's served.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Nice, and how much
are tickets for the food?
Speaker 4 (10:07):
$20 for the food on
the truck wagons, the pies
they're all different pricesbecause they got some that are a
mile high.
Apple pie I found out from onelady she put seven pounds of
apples in that pie.
There's multi-berry pies,there's banana cream pies,
coconut pies, there's any kindof pie you can imagine, because
(10:27):
a lot of these pies are madefrom the ladies that are handed
down from one family to anotherfor traditional recipes.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Heck yeah.
This is the Pinedale ChuckwagonFestival and Pie Sale happening
August 2nd, and I hope to beable to make it buddy.

peach pie, though.
One giant pie or a dozen minipies, one big pie?
Oh, there you go, eat pie witha fork or just grab it with your
hands.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Fork, actually a
spoon.
You need some ice cream to gowith it.
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
It's apple pie and a
mincemeat pie, or chocolate
cream pie, mmm, chocolate creampie?
Speaker 4 (11:41):
Oh, absolutely yeah,
because girls love chocolate.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Oh, and then for the
chuck wagon, this or that beef
or pork, I'll take the beef.
Yeah, and what's nice, thisyear at the Chuckwagon Festival,
all your cooks are going to beable to cook with beef and pork
and chicken, right?
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Correct.
They actually got a cattledonated to the festival for the
fire department this year andthey're giving it up to the
wagons.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Heck yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
So we're going to

year.
