a close friend, and especiallyyou know, someone that was a
part of your ranch.

is that like the tradition with cowboys and
cowgirls, when you lose one, youlet their cow out to pasture?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Yeah, or their horses .

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Oh, their horses.
And then nobody ever bothersthem.

You pick it for us.
This is going to be a tallorder.
Let me see if I can find one.
All right, Virgil told me tokeep it upbeat in honor of their

Oh, Virgil.
Oh, how did I do with the songrequest?

Speaker 2 (01:57):
You just made everybody cry.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Oh no, and I was trying not to make you cry, I
just thought that was a good one, because you told me she was a
firecracker, she was wild, soshe sounded like a wildflower.
So on a scale of 1 to 10, Ididn't do good on the song
request, you did good, I didgood, everybody cried Okay.
So we want maybe something justfun and lighthearted.

(02:19):
Yeah, whatever you want.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Whatever I?

Speaker 1 (02:21):
want, but you made everybody cry.
Well, I'm so sorry.
It's hard not to you know.
When you lose a friend likethat.
I thought that was a good songfor her.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
But let's play something to get us up and
dancing, hey that was a goodsong, but you know, even the
cowboys were crying.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Oh no, I'm sorry, cowboys.
So you guys want me to playsomething upbeat that we could
dance to.
Yeah, let's do that becausewe're in the barn right now.
All right, let's play someBrooks and Dunn Boot Scootin'
Boogie.
All right, heck, yeah, allright, buddy, love you.
Bye.
Thank you, my friend.
Bye.
Let's check in with our bestfriend, janine Ford at our

(03:00):
sister stations Magic 101.7 andItalk 106.7.
Janine, are you over there?

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Yes, I am, yes, I am.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Heck yeah, happy hump day morning.
I was wondering if you had anynews on the mountain for us.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
News on the mountain.
Well, I don't know.
It seems like it's a beautifulday, you know, kind of the
normal stuff.
But I'll tell you one thing Iwanted to mention.
I'm getting excited forSaturday.
This is pretty cool becausethis is a day of service this
Saturday and Shola's putting ona lot of.
You have done this before andyou can sign up if you want on
JustServeorg, one of my favoritewebsites, JustServeorg or you

(03:36):
can just show up, but they'rehoping to kind of get a count.
But this day of service it'svolunteering in Sholo.
You can bring your whole family, the kids you just want to
dress for outdoor work, likewith a hat, closed-toed shoes,
long-sleeved shirt and gloves.
Okay, lunch will be providedafter the project.
Just show up at 9 o'clock atthe district office and that's

(04:01):
500 West Old Linden Road.
From 9 am to 12 o'clock, that'sthis Saturday.
Okay, 9 to 12.
So a day of service.
I just think it's a wonderful,wonderful opportunity.
Families come together, giveservice and they're going to be
painting, like you know, theemergency lane in the schools,
the way it shows red.
All of those are faded andthey're cracking stuff and
they're going to paint, getfresh paint, like the city of
Show Low.
They spent like spent like 1600bucks on all this paint and

(04:23):
they're going to be so it'sgoing to be a paint day.
So on those clothes that you'rewearing, the work clothes, yeah
, old work clothes, yeah clothes.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Yeah, well, that's an awesome thing to do on saturday
and uh, you know, giving backand being of service uh really
makes you feel good yes, andsuper good for your whole family
.
Yeah heck, yeah.
Well, that's awesome news,janine.
How about when we come back, wedo a little?
Am I the Jerk Court?

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Ooh let's do it.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
All rise.
It's now time for.
Am I the Jerk Court with theHonorable Janine Ford presiding
you ready?
Judge, I am.
You got your wig and robe on?
Yeah, oh, perfect, okay,alright.
Well, you don't need a wig, Iguess?
Alright, here's the deal.
My wife is lactose intolerantand a huge chocolate lover.

(05:09):
After Easter, we ended up witha mountain of chocolate from
family and she's been devouringit.
It's been great seeing her sohappy lately, but not so great
at night.
See, with the lactoseintolerance, the gas has been
brutal.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
I'm a bit of a germaphobe and the idea of fart
particles in the air grosses meout.
We've even talked about it andwe both agree it's nasty.
But every night lately it'slike I'm sleeping next to a
lawnmower that won't start andit smells like sadness.
Last night I've had enough andtold her you gotta stop eating
chocolate.
I wasn't mean, just direct.
She took it personally, thoughtI was calling her fat and I

(05:48):
ended up on the couch.
Now things feel tense.
I love her, but I still thinkthis is a legit issue.
Did I handle it all wrong, janine?
Is this guy a jerk and what'syour advice?

Speaker 3 (06:00):
I'm sorry, I would have the same reaction.
I can't handle that.
But maybe he should have justgosh.
I couldn't sleep.
I had to sleep on the couch, something like that.
I just was restless.
I couldn't sleep until she getsthrough her chocolate.
Maybe that's a better way tohandle it, but I don't know, I
can't deal with that.
I am not.
Yeah, yeah, those kinds ofconditions, yeah, I would be

(06:24):
outside or in another room orfans or whatever I had to do.
I just can't do it.
I can't do it.
That's nasty.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Would you say hey, listen, you have gas.
I don't like it.
You need to stop eatingchocolate.
Would you be upfront with themor you would just ignore the
situation until the chocolate'sall eaten?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Yeah, I might.
Just knowing me, I would justsay, gosh, I couldn't sleep very
well.
I'm just going to go out, youknow, excuse myself and go sleep
on the couch for a couple daysor something.
Just say I couldn't sleep, I'msorry.
And if she pushed me I'd justkind of say well, you know, I
think that chocolate isdisrupting your stomach and it's
kind of not great, and so Ijust came out here it's no big
deal, the chocolate will be gonein a couple days.

(07:02):
You know something like that.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Perfect.
Okay, so you're ruling in thecase of, am I the jerk for
telling my wife not to eatchocolate before bed, so I don't
have to smell her farts?

Speaker 3 (07:14):
What's your ruling?
Well, you know, I think sheneeds to just be cooler about it
.
She is creating a situation.
Be cooler about it.
She is creating a situation.
So I don't think he's a jerk.
He could have handled it alittle better, but I don't think
he's a jerk.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Well, I bet, if she found this post that he posted
on the internet for everyone tosee and referred to her farts,
that it sounds like he'ssleeping next to a lawnmower.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
That won't start, I think she would say he's the
jerk.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
But, the Honorable Janine Ford rules.
You are not the jerk fortelling your wife to stop eating
chocolate.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
You can't be rude.
She's being rude too.
That's just rude yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
On the phone.
We have our very own Show.
Lo's Dave Ramsey for a segmentcalled Boo or Cool Dave.
Today is National Picnic Day.
Boo or cool to that Cool.
You like picnics?

Speaker 2 (08:05):

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Oh man, how long has it been since you were at your
last picnic About?

Speaker 2 (08:11):
25 years.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Holy moly, you went with the kids or something.

Speaker 2 (08:14):

iPhone.

Not on a picnic, yeah, thatwould be kind of gross.
What about deviled eggs, boo.
What about a chocolate fountain?

Speaker 2 (08:56):
No electricity?

Speaker 1 (08:57):
boo, no electricity.
What about a DIY tie-dye kit soyou could tie-dye some shirts
while you're at a picnic?
Cool Board games or card games.
Boo, oh, really, you don't likeboard games.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
I play board games, but at a picnic.

And she was like what she'slike.
Your dog pooped on my pillow.
Yeah, Well, it turned out.
Yeah, he pooped on the pillowand then he kind of rolled over

(10:18):
in it, but it was his fault, because he let the dog eat beans
and rice.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Oh, they fed their dogs beans and rice.
Yeah, you feed your dogs beansand rice.
They did, they did, he did.
Oh, he did.

He didn't even feed.
Yeah, he just let.
He doesn't let them eat it offthe floor and out of the bowl.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Well, that's why I make my dog sleep in a kennel.
So the dog pooped on his pillowand he didn't realize that he
was laying on it.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah, and then the dog went back to the pillow he
was on.
He like got up off the onepillow, went over to his pillow,
did his business and then wentback.
He was like yeah, that's whatyou get for feet, let me eat red
beans and rice.
