Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! We are currently doing a Bible study on the book of Ephesians. Today we are going to be reading through Ephesians chapter 2.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
—Ephesians 2:8-9
Read this again. “For by Grace you have been saved through Faith.” This faith is believing in Jesus Christ and having Him LORD over our lives.
We can’t “work” our way into heaven or to being saved. We can’t be a “good person” to be saved.
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
—Romans 10:9-10
It is only through Jesus that we can be saved.
So can we work our way to salvation?
