Hello friend and welcome to the Other World Podcast! We are currently doing a Bible study on the book of Ephesians. I challenge you to read the Bible everyday! I hope you take on the challenge to read the Bible and know God’s word for yourself!
Today we are going to be reading through Ephesians chapter 4:17-32. We are picking up from last week and finishing this chapter!
We are made in the image of God.
Now in Jesus we can put on the new self in Jesus to be created more in the likeness of God in His character—in true righteousness and holiness.
As such we need to discard, to put away, to cast aside our old worldly selves and ways and be renewed and be made new in Christ.
To live in a way that reflects God and His characters. To look like His children—like sons and daughters of God.
Romans 12:2 says: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
No longer can we hold on to sin. No longer can we walk in darkness or greed or sextual sin or any sin. All sin is wrong and evil. All sin is worldly. When we sin, when we let our flesh (or sinful desires) control our lives and guide us then we will look like our sin. We will look like the world. We will be conformed to this world.
Instead we need to be transformed by Jesus into His likeness. To be transformed by the renewal of our minds.
