What am I supposed to do with my life? What is my purpose?
This is the question most of us will ask ourselves in life.
What do I do with this life I have been given?
There the question changes.
A life given.
You have been given life by God — the creator of all. He gave us life. He breathed the breath of life into our lungs.
We are sinners.
To sin is to disobey God. When we sin we are being like this world. To sin is to be separated from God. To sin is to be deserving of punishment and death.
We have hope. His name is Jesus!
This life is not our own.
Our life belongs to God.
So what does He want us to do with the life He has given us?
I encourage you to read the Bible. In the pages of scripture lay the words God saved for us and wanted us to know. There you will find the answer to your question.
To start you off I will let Jesus tell you what you are to do with your life. He gave us the great commission. His commands He have to all of us.
The Great Commission
“Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” —Matthew 28:16-20
This is what Jesus has called us to do. This is our purpose. This is our call.
It is true we can have individual gifts and talents—things God put inside of us to bring Him glory and honor and praise.
This is the universal call of a Christian. This is our purpose.
