Speaker 1 (00:02):
Yeah, that the big dog kind of lever again. Everybody.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Welcome to another episode of The Philly Pulse, your city's
sports beat.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
I'm Joe Staizach host with my co host Sean Lockner.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
How you doing, my friend John great?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Still living that high right, I mean, I'm not sure
when I'm coming down, but don't I'm not worried about it.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
I'm cool. I'm cool right now.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
I usually go into a little spiral when the season end,
the super Bowl is over, and you're like, I have
seven months of nothingness.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
I can deal with it now.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
There's still a little whole because on Sundays it's like
you know, and I do, like, well you saw me.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
I'm not not.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
In great shape on game days during the playoffs, but
it's still fun when you look back on it, like
I'd rather have that kind of anxiety and all that
anxiousness to not have it, you know what I mean, Like, yeah,
I think when it's gone, you miss it. But it
was great and the parade, the parade rocked it out.
Philly did a nice job with the parade.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Did you did you get down there at all?

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Didn't get down there logistically, had some issues.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Gonna was gonna take my daughter, and she was looking
to go with the friends, and then I had a
couple of friends lined up, but it just didn't work.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
But it's fine because I wrote.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
I had to write a piece, and it was easier
at home to see everything that was going on.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
But it looked cool, you know, Yeah, it was fun.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
It would have it would have been.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
I I kinda I mean, I told you I was
kind of bummed out for a couple of days leading
up because the kids were in town. Yeah, and I'm
going to take the kids down and Michelle does not
like crowds at all, and you know, she's she's gone
to concerts with me, and it's like you you don't
want to rob from Peter to pay Paul. You want

(01:47):
to you know, I enjoy those concerts, So okay, let's
pivot here. I don't want to deal with like kids
going to the bathroom and complaining. I mean, they're all
under nine, so I I making excuses, I know, But
it turned out to be epic. We ended up going
to a bar and Concho Hocken that was kid friendly.

(02:08):
We just hung out there for a couple hours and
had some food and watched the parade. And the kids
got their face painted and it was perfect. I mean
we had access to a bathroom, so it.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Was I mean, with little kid, that's probably the way
to do it.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Bro Oh yeah, yeah, but it was great.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
I mean to sit there and hang out with all
the fans. And the timing we got there at the
perfect time. The place thought that the parade didn't start
till noon, but Michelle and I got there like a
little after eleven, sat right up on a high top
with all the kids.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Oh it was great. I mean, it was fun. The
kids just enjoyed it. So yeah, but it's.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Kind of weird.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
I mean, you hear the you hear on the radio
the last couple of days after, you know, leading up
to the parade talking about the excitement and you know,
are they you know, next dynasty and things of that nature,
and it's just been it's been funny and hard to
adjust to.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
All Right, Well, what else? What else do we talk about?
You know? Okay, a spring training.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Every pales in comparison to what just happened this year.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Yeah, but then you know, again, the Eagles being the Eagles,
do you want to.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Talk about that?

Speaker 1 (03:26):
But yeah, they're just uh.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
I feel bad for you. I do, but I mean,
it's probably not the first time that's ever happened to you.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
But what's that the Kevin Batola thing. Yeah, well, let's
talk about that case. The audience doesn't know that the
Eagles did hired offensive coordinator.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I wrote all piece today hours to compile.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Information with all the lists down to my short list,
and then I published it. Five minutes later. They hired
Kevin Batola, and I was against it. I'm against them
hiring without doing a search. In totality, I want them to.
I wanted them to see what's out there. You know, now, listen,
I know they know Frank Reich, I know they know
Doug Peterson, and I know they know Josh McCown. Those

(04:12):
are my three finalists, but there was plenty of guys
out there that I do like the ones who were
former quarterbacks because they have a different feel, I think
than any other position player that takes that job.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Kellen Moore was a quarterback. Most of them are quarterbacks.
Frank Reik was a quarterback, Josh McCowen played for the Eagles, and.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Of course Doug Peterson played for the Eagles and coach
the Eagles. I don't know if Doug Peterson would have
taken the job. In fact, no one even knows if
he's interested. But he's getting a lot of attention. I'm like, well,
can someone ask him?

Speaker 4 (04:43):
Then?

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Why don't we.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Teams were giving him a lot of attention, teams are
have an interest in hiring Doug Peterson to be their
offensive coordinator. But then but then it was like it
was Jeremy Fowler who said, well, but we're not even
sure if he's interested.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
I'm can someone ask him? Ask him if he's interested.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
He's got interested this town that you bring back Doug
Peterson as your offensive coordinator? Right you start hearing a
chance bring in Hallie.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
I don't know, Well, if the Eagles would have lost
the Super Bowl, I don't think that that probably dynamic
wouldn't work with a guy who's wonted bringing him in
to be under a guy who's lost it twice, winning
at both one and one. But I don't know if
Doug Peterson would want to come in as a subordinate
when he's been a head coach or come back here

(05:36):
when he was kind of showing the door when he
was trying to hire his own guys and the team
went South for eleven and one the Carson Wentz mess.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
I don't even think he was on their list. What's
that he wouldn't even have made the list if they
wouldn't have.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Been on their list. I really don't believe he would have.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
But you know, I'm trying to garner some uh some
viewers out there that would have been good. And aside
from all that, I thought he would have been. And
you can't because he's human, he's not a robot. You
can't just put all that aside. But I thought he
was a very good play caller and he was kind
of one of the first to be of the aggressive

(06:16):
philosophy in terms of fourth downs going forward, not as
much as Nick A. Sirianni and the rest of the
league does now, but he was kind of the first
to kind.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Of definitely paved the way, paved the.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Way a little bit, and I like he was aggressive
and it kind of falls in line with Sirianni's philosophy.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
But they signed They hired Kevin Pattullo. For those of
you who don't know who he is, he's been.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
The passing coordinator for the Eagles for a couple years
and the associate head coach for a couple of years.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
He came over when Nick came over from the Colts.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
He's kind of Nick's right hand man from what we're told,
you know, we're only hearing stuff about him now. I
don't know if anyone even knew who Kevin Patoula was,
but Nick, you know, that's his guy.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
That's like he's got.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
I mean, there was yeah, going into going into media
you know media row like super Bowl, there was talk
about yes, you know Kellen and there was an article
uh in the Inquiry written by who was it there?

Speaker 3 (07:20):
I want to give him credit here, Jeff Neilberg.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
It was actually pretty good.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
I mean just kind of you know, uh reasons why
and kind of a little bit uh into the background
of where they first met and how when Nick was
on the chiefs uh chan Gailey, when he was under
Chan Gilly, he would ask, uh, you know, different questions,

(07:48):
ask a lot of questions, and you would always say
contact Kevin. Kevin knows, meaning you know Kevin Patulo and
you know it started off as a relationship over the
phone and then ended up blossing him in.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Into you know what it is today.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
So I guess I'm not I mean, I get it, yo,
I know what you're I know what you're trying to do,
but at the same time get the options of you know,
what are other options out there.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
I feel like it's a trust reward thing.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
I feel like I gotta trust Howie and Jeffrey because
they're the ones that in all honestly.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Made this decision.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
But also I think there's a little reward to Nick,
like hey, a little bit of like, here's your guy,
but at the same time a reward for Jalen because
this is he's been with him since the very beginning.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Yes, he didn't really I didn't think of his comments
when he was asked a week or two ago were
all that, you know, inviting or supportive. I'm not saying
they were anti supportive, but he was like, well he's
never been a and he stopped and he said, well
he's been in a different role. But yeah, I mean
he's you know, he's.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Blah blah blah. Gave the SoundBite.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
I'm not saying it was anti but I didn't. I
didn't think it was gushing about it was it was
this Jeffrey.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
No, it's Jalen.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Oh, Jalen.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Okay, and here's the deal.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
I mean, okay, you can reward the guy, but I
think how he should have put his business cap back
on interviewed everybody. I mean, she's never done it before.
Why should we think he's going to be better than
someone who's called plays before and who's been a bible
Frank Reich won a Super Bowl as an offensive coordinator.

Speaker 6 (09:37):
Touched Frank since he's left, So what he won? He
won his Super Bowl since as an offensive coordinator. He
got fired from Carolina. I get that they were one
and ten. Did he have a quarterback years ago?

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Joe?

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Not really?

Speaker 3 (09:50):
What's that it was seven years ago?

Speaker 1 (09:54):
He looked he was a coach two years ago with.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Carolina, Sure, but I mean they fired him after the
tool was never called a play, and it's.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Like, yeah, hey, I get it. I mean I don't know.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Why are we Why are we rewarding Nick?

Speaker 2 (10:08):
I mean, he might turn out to be great, but
so what I mean, look what happened when they promoted
Brian Johnson and Shaun decide, how'd that work out?

Speaker 1 (10:18):
From within?

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Go get the god, go get the best guy. And
if Kevin Batole was the best guy at the end
of the day, that's fine. But I think the reward
thing if you're gonna trust Nick, all right, I mean,
but put him on a short leadsh I don't you know.
I mean, Jalen, it's his eighth coordinator nine years, so
I mean, he's used to it. But it didn't sound
like he was all that throat about it. But you know,

(10:41):
I could have been reading into it.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
But I also feel like, I mean, there was a
couple of times here when I was watching that parade,
I'm like, God, does this guy ever like show like like, yeah, you.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Know, Jalen not really not really nothing at all.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
So I just yeah, he said some weirds that you
can't can't really tell what his bites are. And it's fine.
I mean he doesn't mean. Whatever he said doesn't make
Kevin better or worse. I'm just saying I had a.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Great teacher in Alabama.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
So I mean, what's this.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
I said he had a great teacher in Alabama when
it came to the press.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Yes, yes, but he also has that Yes, you're right,
he does have that. Yeah, I mean did you see
that Nick Shaven?

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Oh did you see the uh the interview of Jalen
at the age of fifteen. You gotta look at him
all right, Well, when he was in high school, when
he was interviewed at the age of fifteen, jail, just
like Jalen today.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
What's change? You got a little older. It's remarkable.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
That's how I will look at that. Yeah, he's and
that's where I think it works for him. Yeah, get
too high, doesn't get too low. So that's what they did.
I know Kellen Morris, and I think he committed a
career suicide. For a couple of years. He'll be out
there looking for an offensive coordinator jobs.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
He got a five year deal.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Man, great, he'll be done in three Without a quarterback.
You find a quarterback, he'll be fine. You don't have
a quarterback, you'll get fired.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Well, depending on yeah, I mean depending on if he
does god awful.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Yeah, we're going to do good without a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
But yeah, I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
I feel like if he does get fired and he
shows some promise, there's a team that's definitely going to
take an opportunity and be like, well he didn't have
a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Yeah, No, he'll be back as a coordinator. I'm saying
he just he left a great situation with the Eagles,
and I think this again, this is me, this is
a Kellen Moore.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
He did what's best for him.

Speaker 5 (12:45):
Yeah, you want to you want to get offered, you
want to be as a coordinator of the Eagle. You
walk in it is eye candy in that locker room
and turns from an offensive standpoint, Yeah, weapons everywhere.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
I mean it's almost yeah, I mean you can't.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
It's a good place to be an offensive coordinator in Philly.
And I think he I would have waited for a
like you know, every year, six or seven jobs open up.
Maybe next year. But listen, hey, you know he did
what he wanted to do, and that's fine.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
I mean, did a hell of a job for you know,
pursuerman and and you know, showing they wanted him.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Obviously. There was talk about him being concerned about the
quarterback situation down there, and I think that's what landed
him the five year deal.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Uhh yeah for him and gives him security even if
he gets whacked after two Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
No, I don't blame him, no, I hear it.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
But speaking of getting whacked, I mean, how about Jalen
the last couple of days afterwards, just.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
All like oh, I would have taken this person again.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Like jam say again, what did Jalen do? So?

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Who was it? It was one of the guys. Oh
my gosh, he was on what is his name? I'm sorry,
if we're gonna have something here, what's his name? Here
we go? Pete Prisco? You hear what he he ended up?

(14:21):
Oh you gotta look him up, Joe.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
He picks between Jalen Hurts and multiple quarterbacks, like saying
that he.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
Would take Dak Prescott over Jalen.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
Why would I care with Pete Prisco? Thinks I'm just saying, no,
I know, no, no, no, no, it's not a rip on you.
But I'm like, the freck is Pete PRIs.

Speaker 6 (14:45):
I hear you.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
But it's like idiotic too because you just listen to
him and here like some of the things, and it's
just like once again, I mean Jalen like, and that's fine.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
I mean you want to feed him again?

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Like yeah again you get I'm all fired up again.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
Yeah, I'm.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
It's fine with me. I saw a whole thing is
on on YouTube. A guy on CNN. I guess he's
an Eagles fan.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
He was also an anchor and he talked about and
he just showed a lot of Dohn Tapper might have
been a justicer verse.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Look John Tapper, he's he's from here.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
That's right, that's who.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
It was a lot of guys naysaying and listen, you
know it's fine, you know at one point maybe, but
but yeah, I also think this guy is so overreaction
or even the ones who've played and the good ones around,
good analysts and played by player color.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Don't you get it?

Speaker 2 (15:40):
You guys look like idiots because this week you're saying this,
and then three weeks later you're saying this, like relax,
you don't pick an MVP in week eight, all right,
you don't pick an NBP at week twelve. You guys
are like, relax, wait till things settle down, you know,
like to be so definitive, like I think Jalen, you know.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
He he he peaked two years ago, this was and then.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
He comes out and apologize, and here's the thing, own it,
own it.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Yeah he apologized, But I mean.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
That's fine, but like, but why are you saying stupid shit?

Speaker 4 (16:17):
Like no exactly, But here's the thing though, you know,
if Jalen starts off slow, you know what's going to happen?

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Come back again, and it's like.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Yeah, it'll be a little.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
I mean, since you know, how's it go since the
last ten years, other than Patrick Mahomes, the only quarterback
drafted to win a Super Bowl it was Jayalen Hurts.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Last ten years. Yeah, that's other than Patrick Mahomes. It's
pretty impressive.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
Yeah, And I mean you think about it, like.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
You can have your Josh Allen's and your Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Took Patrick Mahomes. I mean he outplayed Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
And both twice. I know it's a shame about the
fumble because it would have been nice if he had two. Absolutely,
but I mean, oh, he totally. I mean, well, Patrick withered.
I mean he just crumpled this time around.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
I mean I'll tell you about that.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
That and your article about how it sent him on
a mission. I mean like a serial killer. I mean
you hear him say like that one hurt my soul?

Speaker 1 (17:28):
How about that? Right? And hurt my soul?

Speaker 3 (17:31):
But I mean it's like, believe it.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
I believe he'd say a word.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
I didn't know it was bubbling so so much, you know,
and it's great and it is great that remember I
you know, I would have rather played the Bills because
I thought they were an easier I think they I
thought the Eagles matched up better with him, But looking back,
like it couldn't have been any better than playing the
Chiefs again.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Ye almost ether way. That team was on a mission.
Either way, the Eagles were winning that Super We're.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Gonna win either way. But I like the fact that
they smoked the cheese.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Oh absolutely, me too. I just I'd love they smoked Andy,
I mean all of it. And I love Andy. You know,
I wish he never left or had to leave, but
it was time.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
I do think it's funny when the Eagles get the
Super Bowl, then all of a sudden Andy hits his
peak and then we've knocked him right back down again.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
So oh he got a quarterback, He got a quarterback. Yeah,
I mean Donah was good, but Patrick takes it to him.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
You know, he's a lead.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
Yeah, So you know, Jo just to kind of move
on here.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
So the one thing that I found interesting, and you
think about it, I mean, it's like you win the
Super Bowl and then all of a sudden, here we
go the off season.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
February eighteenth.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
You got the franchise tags can be applied, do you
think do you think they're gonna do it. They haven't
done it in what eight years? They haven't used it?
I think it is.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Well you look at who they are much money under
the cap, but how he's brilliant at that they have?
So who would you listen? Here are your main free agents.
It's a shame because it'd be nice. Is these guys
had another year. You're not gonna keep them all. You
got Zach Bonn, you got Uncle Milty.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
You have who else is a free agent? Oh? Makai Beckton.
M I thought there was one more kind of.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Gain Well, but I mean who else you have?

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Well?

Speaker 2 (19:32):
You got yeah, you got Milton on the defensive line,
you have Bonn is a linebacker, and you have Makai
beck To. I'm missing somebody, but anyway, I have right here. Anyway,
who who do you keep? Who do you I mean
you can't keep everybody?

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Yeah, So Josh, what's that Josh sweat?

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Yeah, Josh what's probably getting paid?

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Yeah? Brandy Graham he's retiring.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Do we know that? It doesn't matter? I mean he's
kind of at the end.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
Yeah, I mean, what are you gonna bring? What's the point?
I me, I I'd ride out high.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
But that's just me. But Zach Bond, I think they're
gonna resign him.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
They might. I would love to see it.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
You know, I don't think he's.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Gonna get as much maybe as he Here's the thing
with Zach.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Here's the thing with Zach Bond. He had a phenomena year,
maybe the best year of any linebacker. This year, he's
twenty eight, gonna be twenty nine. Remember he spent four
years in the words doing nothing because they didn't put
him inside linebacker. He never found his niche. So if
you go to the table, the team's gonna be like, well,

(20:46):
he's twenty eight. You know, he's getting up to older,
and he's not gonna get like the number he would
if he was twenty four. But he's also only played
sixteen hundred snaps. When you look at a guy like
who are they talking about today? Has like I forget
a big name. I think with the Chiefs it's like
seventy six hundred, you know what I mean. Like in

(21:07):
terms of mileage, his numbers low, right, So he might
not get what he wants, but if the Eagles can
afford I would definitely.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
I mean, yeah, his mileage is low low really love.

Speaker 4 (21:19):
All right, So but I I think I think he
likes it here. I don't think again, I'm not looking
for players, and I'm one like God, take a team
friendly deal. I mean these you literally can.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Die on the field.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
I mean we watched it happen a couple of years ago,
and thank goodness, the guy got revived. So all the
money in the world these guys should be going after.
To that point, I think he likes it here. I
think he likes the scheme. I think a player probably.
I also think Makai Becton is kind of in the

(21:55):
same boat. I think these are going to probably be
the two players that they I don't.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Think they'll go with Williams. I mean he's the defense.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
No, I think Williams is gonna have they they he's
young defensive line. You know how much they value defensive line.
Would you not put more money into that than?

Speaker 3 (22:13):
Yeah? I would. However, that offensive line is crazy good.

Speaker 4 (22:21):
And what Stoutland was able to do to Makai Becton
and change his whole outlook on playing right.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
But that's that's what I'm saying. Like they could do
that with Steen. I mean, Stalin seems to make everyone
a lot better. Listen, I'd love to sign Becktor. He's great,
he been tremendous yet. But if he can only keep one,
I'd probably keep the defensive lineman. Okay, but you know
i'd be happy. I don't want to see him all go,

(22:52):
so I want to see them. I'd like to see
him keep at these two of those guys we talked about.
They're gonna lose some guys.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
Yeah, I mean Avante Maddox, he's a free age and
he's gone.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Probably, Yeah, he got I'm sorry, Rick Levado. They'll probably
long song Snapper, he'll probably resign him right.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Hey, you know, I mean, hey, he's a new door,
he's a new John Dorham boss.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Yeah. And you know the NFL teams today that the
salary cap will range anywhere from two seventy seven to
eighty one.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
So it's increased more than fifty three million over the
last two years. Yeah, you're gonna have more money. It'll
help a little bit.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Yeah, I think she'd be.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
And how he's pretty good with that, how he can
defer and defer, and you know how he he's good
with the money.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
He's good.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
He's been a great asset, he really has, especially in
the last eight years. I mean I used to have
him back in the day when you do a lot
of stupid things, but it'd be.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
An interesting off season. I just think it's it's crazy.
I mean, it's like you look at it, it's like
the scattered combine is around the corner.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
Oh yeah, sure there's something.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
You think it's seven months and nothing, but it's not
like something happens free agencies mid March, you got the draft,
the following month, you got OTAs a couple of a
month or and then you're right back at it.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
The Eagles will always be in the news.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Oh my god. They give you, they give you something
all the time.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
They just we talked about that as the world remember
we talked as the world turned as the you know.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Yeah, it's sad for the hours.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
I have a glass lives tremendous.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
Just making Joe Stays act write two shows had me.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
To two stories.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Are priceless.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
There's phillies, bun Are they making you write a story yet?

Speaker 2 (24:52):
How about those phillies. You're gonna tell me how are
they different? Going into this year?

Speaker 4 (24:58):
They got Max Cup Yeah, hey, look I think they
made some great moves with lazarda I pitching, I mean
they're they've really bolstered their bullpen. I mean they're pitching staff.
We know what's gonna happen. I mean, team gets cold,
this team gets hot, this team gets cold. You just

(25:21):
got you gotta find the perfect storm. I think it
sounds there's some rumors out there. Topper has talked about
switching up the lineup, taking Schwarber out of the lineup.
So I decided to come up with my lineup because

(25:41):
they were talking about Trey Turner being the lead off,
and I think I think that's great.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
I mean, I would definitely do you Tray?

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Is that gonna help cut down his errors?

Speaker 4 (25:52):
I mean, I don't know, Joe, I'd take a three
hitter with speed, you know.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
I mean it wills to be you know what I mean.
With the lineup bed last year they won the division.
It wasn't like it was.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
A bad line up, But I'm cool with that.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
I mean, Bryson Stock came out. He was hurt. His
elbow was hurting since June. At the timing seems a
little bit different.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
Little.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
I kind of felt like he seemed a little off
even before then. You could definitely tell that he was
just he was holding himself a little bit different. You
just knew something was up and here, so I guess
apparently now he's fine. They're hoping for big things, you know,
to bounce back.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
So this is my order. So I got.

Speaker 4 (26:40):
Turner one, Harper two, boom, I'm moving him up the third.
I'm putting Schwarburn clean up, Cassy at five, Scott at six,
Kepler who will be your left fielder.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
He will be your starting left fielder. So I have
him at seven, Real.

Speaker 4 (26:58):
Muto at eight, and then I have our little switch
through that's gonna happen, our little platooners.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Uh number nine, it's going to be Marsha Rojas.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Yeah, I would think marsh would be there for Yeah,
I would probably. Yeah, you're right, that's probably.

Speaker 3 (27:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
I think I'll see how that goes. I'm cool with that, right,
I wasn't married anything. In terms of the lineup.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
The line I mean, it's pretty good lineup, but again
it's streaky, and you know, when they get to the playoffs,
they may swing a lot of crap.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Yeah, no, that's it, that's it.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
I mean the pitchers know what to do with with
this team, especially when it comes to the playoffs. So
I I just hope, you know, ket along. I hope
that whole batting team that they got.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
I'm still here.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
Yeah, I know that's these guys going and and we'll see.
I mean, I definitely think they're gonna be there. It's
not like they're gonna you know, they're not going.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
To falter like the Sixers.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
No, they got good lieup. You know, they catch fire
in the playoffs. I don't know, we have to kind
of wait and see it.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
I mean, it's just you're gonna have to I don't know.
It's like you're you're managing hot and cold. It's really
what you're doing that's pretty not just hitting is contagious.
So as striking out, you.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
Think the culture maybe needed to be changed a little bit,
like they can't like they're running it back with a
team that didn't do it.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
They couldn't finish the last three years.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Apparently they didn't like the offers that they didn't like
what they could get for Boom or.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
That's fine.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
I mean, you know, we're Cassidy.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
So I.

Speaker 4 (28:37):
Would have liked to see them trade Marsh maybe get
some more relief pictures. You've got to get some I
mean baseball pitch baseball, you get something, and I feel
like Marsh, you put them in the right spot.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
You know, you could get some value there. That's interesting.

Speaker 4 (28:50):
The Marlins are up against a cat penalty. They need
to make sure that they get to payroll or they're
gonna get penalty for being too low.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Yeah. So hey, Taywan, there's a floor and c Yeah,
that's exactly right.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
Yeah, that's tweet from Jack Fritz today. I thought that
was pretty funny.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
That's interesting.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Yeah, he said, Taywan Marker is Marlin.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Well, what's what month is it? So it's still so
it's still a long time till opening day.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Yeah, we'll see, Yeah, we shall see.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
We'll switch gear. We're closing the books on the Eagles,
which I can't can't do it any better than how
that ended. That's like that was an epic year of
epic years. Shei Kwan and Jalen and Shiriyani and Whoper
and everyone wrong and the way they went from that
Tampa Bay loss amazing stuff. So yeah, and then well

(29:56):
we're gonna try to that marcusson next week. We'll talk
a little Sixers because they're I don't even know what
to say about the sixers.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
I am.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
I'm so ready to talk to the sixers. I have
a lot of questions.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
More. He talked the other day a couple.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Of we're now a little over a.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Week ago, ready to you know, he was on Missone
Ellie and he's saying the right things that you know,
this playoff is set up the perfect way for the
way this team.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Is really okay. I think.

Speaker 4 (30:33):
We've seen the best and I'm just I'm ready. I'm
ready to blow it up again, to.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Blow it up, right. I just I don't even know
how you do that.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
I mean, it's just I love basketball. I love basketball
so much. I love watching it, going to it live,
and it's just it's so hard to watch.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
It's tough to watch. Well, it's another surgery. And Paul George,
you know, plays once in a while. He's the star
and he's got no help on it.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
But I guess apparently he needs injections to play this year.
Who's that, Paul George? Apparently I need to look you
saw that?

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Yeah? I did see that. Yeah, I mean, I mean,
what what's uh?

Speaker 3 (31:27):
We got the balco.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
Balco right, bring it back?

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Those are the days, jeez, Joel, your head got huge.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
But my knee looks great.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
My lord.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
Yeah, No, I really hope he can get Marcus on
next week because I want to pick his brain.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
I want to he's pretty tied into the Sixers and
we'll absolutely we can't revisit some things, but good stuff. Brother,
always gotta wrap. Appreciate you folks for watching. I actually
gotta go pick up my daughter. Tell us how we.
