Lochner having issues understanding the definition of insanity as pertains to those Fightin' Phils. Warren backs up Lochner but admits the loss to the Giants was already in the books. Staszak is just waiting to see Topper get escorted to the gallows and he's also waiting for Howie's splash on Draft night. While Lochner says good luck with that Warren has a bead on the Kyle Pitts trade rumor. All this confusion and much, much more...

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Yeah, let the big dog hunt low again. Everybody. Welcome
to another episode of The Philly Pols, your city's sports feed.
I'm your host, just days at my co host Michael Warren,
Sean Locker. How you doing, boys hanging in? Yeah, I know,
upper upper left here is and we'll start with Phillies
because we haven't we haven't started with Phillies yet.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
It's been all Eagles all the time.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
But John, there were seven to one and they are
four and six in the last ten games. I think
they're two and six in their last eight games. They
are now nine and seven. They're behind. The match matches
are starting. It gets a little bit of momentum, but
you're not happy with the way the Phillies have been
playing ball. Just what you're seeing in terms of looks
like the same old, same old.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Oh there's too many outs in this lineup?

Speaker 4 (00:47):
It does? It feels like the same old Samuel I mean,
but all right, Brandon marsh he's struggling.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
He's had here in April.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Same ps. And then I think last night was a
prime moment where there was all four.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
Outside and that was really bad, horrible, It was horrible
and j T I didn't I know, he doesn't show
his anger when it comes to that.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
I understand that part.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
So opportunity for Topper to come right out, didn't.

Speaker 6 (01:24):
Maybe see he didn't move, nothing.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Came out afterwards, and they they went to a commercial
and then came back and he's with the umpire and
all of a sudden, we're like, oh my gosh, what's up.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Did did he have a conversation?

Speaker 4 (01:40):
No, A section of lights went out, and that's what
they were concerned about. So I'm yeah, I'm a little
fo up about this season right now.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
I'm I'm I think they're going to be good.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
But I'm I think it's gonna be I don't think
they're going to the long series.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Maybe you wanted to see him throw a tan him.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Something sometimes. Did you see the pitch it was Miah?

Speaker 6 (02:08):
Well, that's my point is that's why he should have.
The game is over anyway, go go raise a stinker.
Your guys fired up, maybe for tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
And there was a chance too that they were rallying,
but there where's a wait and this pitch was so outside,
I mean it was it was terrible.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Sure, he's complaining about the street, complaining about the village.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
I'm complaining about a situation where every manager, every player.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
There is an opportunity in baseball.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Where the manager comes out and defends their team when
you have a shitty call like that from an umpire,
and nothing was done. Nothing, And that was an opportunity
that could have sparked a little more life.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
And all we kept on hearing about was from the
very beginning of the season. Was there. It's different. You know,
Turner was out, he wasn't free.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Well, he was a little hurt, and then Topper decided
he was going to pinch hit him. And yeah, there's
a sense of urgency there, changing the lineup and blah blah,
blah blah.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
And there's too many outs there.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
I now am at a point where it doesn't matter
what you do to this lineup, there's always going to
be too many outs. And they need a spark plug,
they need something, they need, They got to make a move.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Michael.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Let me let me ask you then, Micah, do you
think this team, knowing them pretty intimately, would would that
have caused an ignition somewhere to spark them if the
manager came out and gave you the umpire, what for?
Or do you really need some tangible fire in that lineup.

Speaker 6 (03:41):
I think both can be true. I mean, I agree
with Sean that, you know what, I really didn't see
that they weren't. I did not see any inkling that
they were coming back regardless. But you know what, go
out there and pitch a fit. Maybe it helped spark
something for tomorrow. That's what I was I was thinking,
not that it was going to spark anything for that game.
But was it the seventh eighth inning at the point
seawn something like that. It was late in the game,

(04:03):
and it was just kind of more like, we don't
need this Taiwan pitched today. Please give us a little
help here. Here's what I will say about the Phillies though.
Right now, April fifteenth, tax Day, I don't even pay attention.
So I look at it this way. I'm not paying
attention to anyone in baseball's batting average. It is so
early you could be batting ninety. Are you gonna beat

(04:24):
that the whole year? That guy better hope not. If
somebody could be hitting four fifty, that gonna happen all year. No,
I'm not even looking at that. I think I saw
a graphic that Schwarbers tied for the NL leading home runs.
I didn't even know or care. It's so early. Like,
if I don't care about these things, why should I
be overly concerned with how the Phillies are any team
is doing right this.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Second, I don't hear.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Yes, agreed, And to your point, Micah, there Jason Starr
came out and said there was one an huge amount
of I don't know what the number is, so huge
amount of players that could hit anywhere from two eighty
five who were above that are way way under like
two thirty. So, yes, the season is early.

Speaker 6 (05:07):
But you're not wrong to have concerns. I mean, first
of all, that outfield is a nightmare. I don't know
what it is about us getting outfield now. Granted you
lost Project Price Harper to first base, so that puts
a little different things. But I don't know if you
guys saw this or what you think about this might
as well perfect time to discuss it. The last four
games at Lehigh they have Justin Crawford playing left field.

(05:29):
It's the only time he's ever played the field outside
of like the up and Coming All Stars game from
like single A or something like that. But clearly remember
when they couldn't get Ryan Howard up because Tomy was
blocking him at first, and he's raking, absolutely raking and
triple A and everyone's like if you tried them in
the outfield, They're like.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, we tried.

Speaker 6 (05:47):
He can't do it.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Blocking Crawford though, Like, why why move on the left?

Speaker 6 (05:52):
Well, he's a short center.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
What I mean, isn't he a tradition's center.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Crawford was a sentfielder. You're thinking of, what's his name?
You're thinking of, Oh my gosh, why am I drawing
a blank on the name.

Speaker 6 (06:09):
Regardless, I don't care where they play him in the outfield.
Get him to learn the outfield and bring him up tomorrow.
He's twenty one. I know he's young. I know he's
gonna be rushed. But you know what, Atlanta seems to
produce these guys. Every damn year. They lose these guys,
and then every year there's some dude I never heard
of that's pissing me off again. I hate the Brave
so much.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Aden Miller is who I'm thinking of.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Adien Miller is your shortstop, your outfielder is justin Crawford.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
He's able to get him up. Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 6 (06:41):
Center left. I don't care. They dropped a ball that
cost them a game the other night because they couldn't
communicate properly. That's gotta be Rojas coming over and calling
it ball.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
And ro Host cannot hit major league pitching. So it's well, who.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
Was the other dude we had out there that was
like absolutely stunning in the outfield. They tried, he just
couldn't hit a lick. I'm trying to remember his name.
I mean, pick one, actually, pick one. Sosa can't do it.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
They and this was my biggest complaint is they ran
it back, and we saw what they were last year.
Why could we expect anything vastly different this year?

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Yeah, I mean, okay, yeah, shame on me for thinking
a little bit different.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Oh no, man, I just I'm I'm just buffled. I'm
baffled of how these certain areas.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Are.

Speaker 6 (07:45):
I don't know, it seems like a year to year thing. No,
I agree with you, and I have a bigger problem
with our seeming inability to develop young talent. I mean,
even if you think of I mean, Howard hit him,
hit them.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
I can't help but also think that maybe Middleton has
told Dombroski, like we've had a shitty farm system for years,
and I really need you to build this up. And
I know what your your mo O is, and you're
not going to do that until I tell you it's time.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Maybe, But I.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
Mean I look back. Do you guys remember there was
a time when Brandon Duckworth was untouchable, was untouchable, Pat
Combs untouchable, Tyler Green untouchable. Prospect means you've never done it,
Is that right?

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Like potential? Yeah, and they tell you down you haven't
done it doesn't mean squat. Yeah, so are we expecting?
I mean, listen, the same team this pretty much the
same team got off to their best start in like,
you know, one hundred and nineteen years last year.

Speaker 6 (08:56):
Well, do you think Wheelers going to keep getting touched?
I think Nola's No. One could be a.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Wildcard, a little bit of a wildcard.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Yeah, he gives up the home runs.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
I mean sure, Okay, Painter. Painter is going to be
like a trade den Biden move. You're gonna have him
up here, which will be great. Look, I think they're
they're on the minor league system is on the right
road of progression. I think they have really really put
in a good farm system the right people to run it.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
But I don't know, man, I just I.

Speaker 6 (09:33):
Need some painter in Crawford. I will be a very the.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Last farm guy to come up and make a real impact.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Stop.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
I was gonna say, bom, but everyone.

Speaker 6 (09:46):
He's not that popular right now.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Where it's like, okay, so all right.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
He's a bomb in the last ten years. Like give me,
I'm not. I can't think either. Like Ed Wade got
run out of town, but he built that Hall of fame.

Speaker 6 (10:05):
And you know what the quick note on ed Wade
because Pat Gillick got all the credit for that two
thousand and eight World Series team.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
He put the.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
Cherry on top. You don't think ed Wade was getting
called by Chase Utley and Rollins and Howard and the
farm system and he said no at a time when
everyone was like put us over the top, and he said,
I remember, we don't need new players. We need the players.
We have to play better. And I was like, are
you no, That's not what I wanted to hear in
two thousand and five, two thousand and six, that's not
what anyone want to do. Anybody was right all the

(10:35):
moves Ed Wade didn't make Ed Wade deserves a ring totally.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Gillick came right out and said this, you know, this
is Edwade's team. He did, he added LYDG and yeahs
done done.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Everybody that has been brought in has been pretty much
on tax team.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
This is all Clintax team.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
DOBRASKI, all right, so you got Costianus right, Schwarber and
Turner and.

Speaker 6 (11:12):
They're all store bought. That's all store bought. I'm fine.
The Phillies are very lucky. They have a market, they
have the budget to do those things. There's really only
maybe six teams, maybe eight teams that can afford to
do the things the Phillies do right. And you can
get this isn't football, so you can get away with it.
There's no salary cap. But at a certain point you

(11:32):
need these homegrown guys. I mean, that's why I never
understood why the Angels didn't trade Trout in his prime.
They never made the playoffs with him. You're losing with them,
you can lose without them, and your farm system stinks.
You can replenish an entire farm system with that guy,
and you're not winning with them. They had Otani and
Trout want nothing I mean nothing.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Can you believe that Otani and Trout they never budged.
Why do you think Trout signed that four hundred million
dollar contract when he did to stay there?

Speaker 6 (12:03):
The weather's really nice. You're in Anaheim, which trust them?

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Right?

Speaker 6 (12:08):
No one says a word they have. The Orange County
Register is the only newspaper out there. No one cares.
Even in la no one cares. It's a transient city.
I've listened to l A sports radio. It's not the
same as what you get in Philadelphia. It is a
has a tough time. You think anahe You ever been
to Anaheim outside of Disneyland. There's nothing in Anaheim but
a convention center. There's nothing. Don't don't unless you're taking

(12:31):
the kids to Disneyland. There's nothing there, nothing there, but
it's nice weather and nobody bothers you. He could probably
walk into any McDonald's at any time in Anaheim and
no one happened.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
No one.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
Probably gets in fight with the manager and yeah right, yeah,
I mean i'd still. I think it's funny where it's
like everybody you know Trout, he'll come here.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
He's not coming here.

Speaker 6 (12:58):
For games anyway, and I don't want him at this
point he's.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
But at the same time, I don't think he ever.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
I don't think he looked like the Iron Man. He
plays like less than half the games.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
This team, it's just they're pissing me off.

Speaker 6 (13:16):
Joe, I understood. But when we did this podcast a
week ago, we were singing a different tune and we
kind of warned about that well because they were playing well,
I was like, this is great.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
What kind of leashed does Toper half? I mean, I
would have fired him after the Houston game.

Speaker 6 (13:33):
You hate. It's not personal, but you know what, I
go back to this, and I think I mentioned this before.
When Charlie Manuel first got here, no one was thinking
this guy's a genius. He could hardly speak, still can't.
But whatever I mean, he he said out loud, I
forget the pitcher hits in the NL sometimes and we
were like, what the hell did we get?

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Jimmy Williams was the bench coach the one year and
he came out. I mean, he was pretty much run
in the show.

Speaker 6 (14:00):
But then again, so all of a sudden, what happens.
The Phillies can pitch and hit. Now Charlie Manuel is
a world champion and genius of all the four sports,
the manager has the least impact on the on the
field product. If you can pitch and hit, stay Zactay
manager of the Year, seriously.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Over the Minnesota Quinns and coating them to the World Series.

Speaker 6 (14:24):
I mean, come on, well, it's like I look at
the bullpen and you can argue about mismanaged this or
should have gone righty level. If they can't pitch, I
don't care who you put.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
In the last year. Yeah, the playoffs there they're pitching
fell apart, But their approach to hitting is kind of
the same. Is at his job and the hitting coaches
job to kind of I don't want to hear. These
guys are setting their ways and they have already made
it and they can't.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Joshuas are setting their ways. You don't want to hear
they are setting their ways. They are the craziest athletes
just there.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
It's Jill Parcel window or isle. You're at at which
one do you want? You went the window or the aisle?
I got a plane ticket for you. You're out of here.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Yeah, Bill Parcell's window. All boys window is all right.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
It was really alarming the other night to watch Alec
Boom Okay, he's got a two oh count.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Okay, and we know how aggressive Alec Boom is. It's
a two o count. Then gets a ball outside and
he freaking swings at and pofsaa.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Why does it surprise you?

Speaker 6 (15:35):
Yeah, he's You'll go on a streak where you're like,
this guy is awesome. That's the frustrating part about a
lot of these guys is they'll have these Castianos is
another one.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
They had a great things in the postseason and here
and there, and then he goes in like a nineteen
game hitting slam.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
It's frustrating.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
And for what I gotta transition to football guys. We
don't have a lot of time. Yeah, all right, t J.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Watts, you coming here?

Speaker 1 (16:03):
No, No, he's the odds have him is one of
the Uh, this is a landing spot for him.

Speaker 6 (16:13):
Every every free agent that comes up, let's admit, is
tied to the Eagles, especially if it's a wide receiver.
For whatever reason, we could have.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
Ten behind the Cardinals and the page Patriots and the
number one team in terms of odds, and it goes
Cardinals and then Birds. I think he's gonna end up
signing with the Steelers. I think he's gonna sign back there.
But here he's making twenty eight a year, twenty eight million.
He's gonna get a guy just is making forty He's

(16:40):
gonna want a new contract and be somewhere around thirty
four to thirty five. Do you think the Eagles can
afford that?

Speaker 6 (16:46):
Not necessarily? I mean, I don't think.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
They could not afford that, because other than that, why
not make the splash? I know they have other things
to do coming up, but they haven't really done much
in terms of any kind of really influx of talent
and how he said, this is where the town starts.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Joe, let me ask you this, yeh, are you really are?
Are you waiting for the Eagles big splash?

Speaker 1 (17:11):
I'm waiting for it. I'm not waiting you know what.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
You think it's coming, And I hate to break the
news to you, but I don't think it is.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Okay. I think they're going to do something sure, but
big sure?

Speaker 6 (17:24):
Really don't put anything past Howie, I wouldn't be anything.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
How No, I feel I feel different with this fifth year.
I don't but feel like this is a year of
and I know, but I think they're like they'll be okay.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
Hold on shocked.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
I always like the Philly you keep expecting something different,
and he does the same thing every year he goes out.

Speaker 6 (17:49):
And it's not like if you go back to two
thousand and four, they needed that high end receiver to
get over the top, so they got Tara Loans. They
needed an edge rusher to replace Hugh Douglas. No for
they got Javon Kurz. We don't have a roster with
those kind of needs, which is which is why I mean,
this is my my I wanted to spring this guy

(18:11):
on you because I was listening this morning and apparently,
again this is all mock drafts, But this is what
this stuff is here for, to give us something to
talk about, Like when Rolling Stone says the top one
hundred guitarists of all time, those lists are made to
be argued with, kind of like mox. So. So one
of the CBS mocks apparently has the Eagles taking Jalen

(18:32):
Milroe in the second round, and I thought initially, initially,
I was like, well, that doesn't make sense, and I thought,
you don't have any absolute dire needs. If he's sitting
there and you like him, he's a project that if
you get something out of him. I'm not replacing Jalen
Hurts and I as a backup. You could turn him

(18:56):
into a first round picket on some day. You're gonna
turn McKee into picks if you want.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
I think he's gonna be a lot better than people think. Milroy.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
He had some bad games, and I've seen him play
lights out. I think he's, like you said, a project
you see out a shure on Run of the forty.

Speaker 6 (19:13):
He funds like a four to three, doesn't he Like
he asked.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
His hell and he's huge, Like, I think he can
do some things with his legs.

Speaker 6 (19:20):
You could even use him now, put him in the
backfield of Saquan and Jalen. Have fun with that. I
don't know. It's up to you. You figure it out.
You're the offensive coordinator. You do something right, make it happen.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
That's jal was kicking in the second round.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Yeah, but that's when I think how he thought that,
how he kind of maybe said this might not be
going this might be a train wreck, this Carson Wentz thing.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
Yeah, you know what, Yeah, absolutely, I think the writing
const was on the wall. If you look back at it,
and you look back at uh, Doug Peterson being like,
during that COVID draft, you knew something was up.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
He knew they didn't feel I didn't.

Speaker 6 (20:01):
Have a problem with the Jalen pick. I thought it
was extremely odd because he just gave Carson that big contract.
What did you learn between the contract and the draft?

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Right?

Speaker 6 (20:13):
Did you learn something new?

Speaker 2 (20:17):
His worst year was after that draft.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
It was the year that he played right after that,
because then Jay then came into the Packers game and
WENTZ twenty twenty. The whole team was what were they
four to eleven and one that year?

Speaker 6 (20:31):
Carson's a turd as a teammate.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Yeah, I hear that. Just what Joe saanel a Quido
got buried for that. I said, you didn't think he's
making this up? Do you really think just Wido and
his and his minions and his colleagues make are making
these quotes up?

Speaker 4 (20:46):
I thought you the other day that said it, or
was it you, Joe that if Carson, if you weren't
a part of Carson's Bible study, you weren't a part
of Carson.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Yeah. Someone said that they have a guest.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
On last week.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
I forget who. Maybe it was one of our guests before.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
I think then made was it was it Marcus Marcus,
I don't remember, maybe.

Speaker 6 (21:14):
Less well, no, I I still believe it. He seemed
like if you did or if you didn't hunt with him,
because didn't Trent Cole hunt with him and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
I don't know they both And here was buddy buddy
with Zach Ertz. You don't hear about that buddy budy
ness anymore.

Speaker 6 (21:28):
Well, I don't think Darren Sproles is a huge fan,
you know.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
But it's Darren Sproles was trying to let you know,
like you know, he's not He's not who everybody thinks
he is.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
He said he'd be. Darren Sproles was on a podcast
recently saying on his routes, his he was the A
one target on the route and he's like he would
still go to Ertz. He's like, dude, I'm out here
in the flat like I would. The play call was
to me and I was open, and he still would
go to ERTs. He's like he didn't pay attention to coaching.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
He just seems like you said this.

Speaker 6 (22:00):
Sprolls said that, and Sprolls was the one that got
in the dust up with him in twenty seventeen when
they were all hurt watching the Super Bowl and during
that run, like Carson was pissing and.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
He got pissed off that they were doing well. Yes,
but a teammates, it's not unbelieved. First of all, why
would you voice that you think you're gonna get a
lot of support from the guys.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Seriously, Yeah, this is bullshit. That were winning what?

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:26):
Remember Donovan McNabb's mom got killed in two thousand and
six during the Garcia run because she said it's bitter sweet,
And I was like, first of all, it's a dude's mom,
and I understand where she's coming from. Yes, I love it,
but would I love to see my son out there?
It's your son? Sure, I mean, it's not the head
coach saying it.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
I love gay Jeff Garcia. He was great.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Remember did TiO kind of eludius fact that he was?
It was tremendous here on that.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
San Francisco's yea, I was in San Francisco.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
He won five or six here, m m, yeah, was
that was tremendous run. Do you remember who we lost
to when we eventually lost to because you won a
playoff game against the Giants and over.

Speaker 6 (23:10):
He beat the Giants and then he would have lost
to was it the Saints?

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Very good?

Speaker 2 (23:16):
And you know who caught one of those touchdown pass
in that game?

Speaker 6 (23:19):
Stalworth?

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Very nice?

Speaker 1 (23:21):
You guys are alright?

Speaker 2 (23:22):
It was two thousand and six.

Speaker 6 (23:24):
Oh, that was the Scott Young game? What's that was
the Scott Young game? Remember the fourth down they called
him for a false start? That was really kind of Yeah,
I've seen worse.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
The ball outside.

Speaker 6 (23:46):
Shawn's not letting that one go. This is going to
burn his ass for a while. I'm not and now
to put a bow on the Jalen Milrow thing I did.
I did text this to my friend former Eagles tight
end Luther Broughton, who responded, shut the fuck up, I
hate it.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Okay, I'm okay with mel right now.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Sean. So you don't think they're so they're gonna take
a step back. Is that what you're saying? Do you
think they're gonna take a show.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
I don't think they're gonna take a step back.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
I think Alien pretty much told you, like, hey, it's
not gonna look like how it's been years past, Like
it's gonna be different, but it's all gonna come together.
I mean, look, they're not gonna come out and say like, hey,
this is gonna be an off year.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
I think they're gonna be competitive.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
I think they're gonna be one of the top teams
in the league. However, I don't think you're gonna see
a splash unless great deadline comes around and we're like, wow,
we're all right, let's do it. I think that's where
you possibly could see it. I just feel like everybody's waiting, and.

Speaker 6 (24:57):
I I feel like, you say competitive, I'm happy with
this roster as it is. You had, you could live
with it.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
Every single episode, Joe comes on thinking like they're gonna
they're about to do something like you know what about TJ.

Speaker 6 (25:12):
Watt?

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Who were we talking about last week?

Speaker 6 (25:15):
Well, in terms of them taking a step back. Unless
you win the super Bowl, you've taken a step back
and the odds are that you won't so anything, you.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Will not win the super Bowl again.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
But I mean, if they make a run and they
look like they are a team that could win the
super Bowl, because there are a lot of teams that
look like that late and not they all can't win it. Well,
or are you talking about a first round exit in
a wild card game. I don't see.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
Yeah, I think they'll make the playoffs Joe from there.

Speaker 6 (25:47):
I don't know, a lot of things have to happen.
If Jolio Jones catches that ball, they don't win in
twenty seven times he catches that ball forty nine times
out of fifty. Just a lot of little things have
to go right. They lost to the Packers or the
Rams this year.

Speaker 4 (26:02):
Yeah, I just don't see. I think their concentration is
the draft. I really do.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
I think. I just I don't know how.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
It just seems like the kind of person that loves
when he does good and likes two steps personal goals.
And I think a personal goal is to be better
at the draft, I really do. And but before I mean, but.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Before he didn't so.

Speaker 6 (26:29):
But everyone has their misses, I mean obviously regularly when
no one's forgetting that one.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Sorry, I really don't I don't see any big move.

Speaker 6 (26:40):
Well, here here's the right, but it's one move kind
of on the table. And I wrote about this for
heavy dot com today because everyone, all the draftnicks are
talking about the Colts. Can they get Tyler Warren at fourteen?
I don't see him slipping that far Colston Loveland. Maybe
if they can't get their tight end, why on earth
would they not be talking to us about Goddard. The

(27:01):
Eagles want to move them. We know that. And Stichen
came from the Eagles. Sirianni came from the Colts. Communication
lines have to be open, and the Colts have a
huge need.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
I can see that is what is the rush to
get him out of here?

Speaker 2 (27:15):
He's got one more year.

Speaker 6 (27:16):
I don't get it. I don't get it. I think
he has more value to this team than and then
a fourth or fifth round draft pick when you already
have a boatload.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Of picks, boatloaded boatload of picks. That's why I think
they're gonna.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Pay the next two years they have, They have draft
capital to make a move if they want to. I
think I think they have enough because a lot of
these picks. He's twenty picture in the first four rounds.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
Worpe, You're right, I really do.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
I do. But you know him for making taking a
big swim, You don't think the ego. Maybe he gets
in there and he wants to look. You get drunk
on the accolades, you get drunk on the you know,
the validation I'm not saying he should do that.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
I think you've got drunk in twenty eighteen.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Well he kind of ran it back and twenty eighteen
didn't he.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
That drunk, And I think he realizes, like I need
to be a little different.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
Yeah, definitely, that was that team was aging, aging.

Speaker 4 (28:09):
Quickly, and then you have the Carton situation. Then you
did that get pat money. I mean, look how we
did an amazing job and got us back to where
we needed to be. But I'll give them that, well
that good thing. Jeffrey was like, let's not go down
that road again. Let's be a little bit smarter. So
me personally, I hope I'm wrong. I don't see a

(28:30):
big move this year.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
They were one of the most talented teams I think
we've all ever seen assembles. So I would think there's
a bigger window to win multiple Super Bowls. I'm not
saying a three peakers that we see how hard that is. Yeah,
there's the chance to go back to back with the
talent they had, and I think they should they should
try to capitalize on that and not just say well,

(28:52):
yeah we'll reload and we'll get better for a couple
of years down the road. You don't know how Jalen,
you know, injuries or this and that, and the other
thing I think and sake on is you know.

Speaker 6 (29:02):
The question to me, what's that he's still an injury
question to me? And he's coming off of a very
heavy workload. And look at.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
Twenty seven you start going as a running back start.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
That's why one of the reasons the Giants got rid
of him, and you start going down at that age,
and he is a real injury risk. I'm just saying,
just the window isn't going to be like I don't
think like you know, seven years.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
I think that.

Speaker 6 (29:24):
How are you for the splash Stays act. Yes, oh okay,
all right, spending people's money.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Keeping gone her for one year. I don't get why
I agree Siriani. Is it sounded like he's gone. It
sounds like he's out the door, yep, which I think
is a mistake unless you have I mean, how many
guys come in as a rookie you know what I've
been hearing, and you guys probably news the guy who

(29:52):
from Florida who got drafted by the Falcons was supposed
to be a hybrid Kyle Pitts.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Thank you, Kyle Pitts.

Speaker 6 (29:58):
That was maybe why we don't take it ends four overall?

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Right, But can can Kyle Pitch play? Can he play
in a different system? And if they went and got
Kyle Pits, would you take a shot.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
With Kyle Pitch?

Speaker 1 (30:11):
I mean he was well become a pass catcher coming
out of college.

Speaker 6 (30:15):
Because I also write for about the Falcons for heavy
dot Com, I've been on this one too. They now
the Falcons have about five draft picks, two or seventh rounders,
So do with those what you will. Those are rookie
free agents, they need picks. They have Kirk Cousins that
that's probably happening sooner rather than later, probably Draft weekend.
It could be the Saints because Derek Carr is now

(30:36):
what out for the season with a should problem, right,
So that's a good opportunity to a cruise some picks.
Kyle Pitts could be a chance to a cruise some picks.
What would you really give up for Kyle Pitts A five?
I mean he probably would be done with them.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
It has fast for Kyle. I would pull that trigger
and take a shot with him. He's a value guy.
That's is the kind of guys they love here the guys.

Speaker 6 (31:01):
He doesn't have to be the focal point of the offense.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
So I hearn that. What do you is there any
can that gain some traction? Can not get legs?

Speaker 6 (31:12):
It's possible. I think that the Falcons have a lot
of holes, especially on defense, and with not a lot
of draft picks, I think they might have to start
selling some assets.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Well, Eagles out a ton of draft capital.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
So and you.

Speaker 6 (31:28):
Know it's odd for as crappy as the Falcons have
been now, I shouldn't say that they have their competitive
years more with the Matt Ryan. Do you know how
many since two thousand and eight they've only had two
general managers? Really, usually teams that was the Trough for
years and now Terry Fontino, and usually teams that are
middling shuffle too much. But yeah, that's a lot of

(31:51):
stability for a team that's really.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Done nothing for mediocrety like only two gms, you believe that.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
But the Falcons, we think of them.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
They were one of the three teams that beat the
Eagles last years.

Speaker 6 (32:10):
Yeah, I mean happen And how can you get mad
at if it was anybody else? If it was I mean,
the town would have burned down.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
In New York at that point, I was so mad
at him that night.

Speaker 7 (32:20):
Yeah right, good stuff, boys, Michael Waran locked or tell
us how we can find you where everyone else can
find you on social media?

Speaker 3 (32:30):

Speaker 4 (32:35):
