the times, and uh Joel embiid and Oka four and
who else did we talk about? Kyle Smith and Jerry

Play obviously was the number one pick, and then Harper

I I want to t Trey Johnson, but I think VJ.
Edgecomb is the safe pick. It seems like you heard
a couple of weeks ago, ty Reese went on the visit,
they went out to dinner, they were pound around, Like
you said, Joe, I think the writing is on the wall.
I think these are two very young, talented guards that

are going to hopefully drive the Sixers to where they
need to be. I mean, we've said it last week.
I think we've seen the best of embiid. I'd be very,
very shocked if we see anything better or the same
going forward. And Paul George is still a mystery. We
don't know if he's going to be here or not.

what did he average? Fifteen points, a little over five
rebounds of game.

because they didn't have many options last year and the
best listen. I get why a lot of people didn't
want them to sign Paul George, you know, with thirty
six years old. Yeah, that's the downside of his career.
He wanted four years. They signed into a four year contract.
He gets hurt a lot last year, and you know,

him and Embiid hardly played together and Embiid was out
most of the year. It was it was a mess.
So Darl Moore is in a little bit of a
tough situation, so.

are so dumb. With the three future first rounders, but
top ten protector but this one's top five but not

Here's the thing, Oklahoma City. I don't know if things
would have changed if Tyree's Holly Burton didn't tear up
his achilles. Had he made he had nine points in
about ten minutes. Rips up his achilles. He's done for
the game. It was a value effort.

I would have been probably done for next year.

He probably done for next year too, which is really
really a shame. But then you look at Oklahoma City,
one of the youngest teams to ever win the whole thing,
and they'd ever tanked. Look, they put a team together
in twenty twelve. They made the right selections at the time.
They had Westbrook, they had Harden, they had Durant, and
then you know that dispersed and then they rebuild another team.

They didn't have to tank to do it. It can
be done, and they put together a nice team, very young.
It's the seventh different championship team in the last seven years,
so you know, there's no guarantees are going to you know,
be a dynasty or whatever. But they got it done
in the second half the other night. Then they won
eighty five games this year. You got to give them credit.
So why can't the Sixers put something together and build

like Oklahoma City Golden State like they put their team together.

Joe, I want to correct you because last episode you said,
why can't the Sixers do the same thing that the
Thunder did? They actually did. We got in trouble for it.
The Thunder did it better. They tanked. They got to
where they are doing the same fricking thing that the
Sixers did.

The last couple I mean it was they were tanking
for the last couple of years.

assets or selections, you got to pick the right guys exactly.

Well yeah, but the NBA brought to Colangelos in that
wasn't well, yeah, that was written history.

What's your opinion of that philosophy of stinking to get
good like middle round people and any sport, any sport,

I mean a lot of people had different opinions of him.
I personally never really got the hype. His decision making
wasn't the best. I think we won a couple competitive games,

I don't think you can teach that kind of football
knowledge or decision making, and clearly that hasn't translated to

the one to go, it depends on on is painter up,
how well is everyone pitching. It's gonna be there's a
lot of variables there, but I wouldn't have a problem
with that in theory. I don't love the closer By committee,

There's so many colleges, even Florida golf you want, Yeah,
the ice skaters. You'll see college golf coast like some
people that you would never think of having a club
hockey team, and obviously they do. It's honestly pretty big
down here. I didn't really know we had a club

hockey team until a couple of years ago.

But ever Blades over in the golf they just made
to the finals again. They lost, but they're in the
finals every year. So, I mean, hockey is like a
real thing in Florida.

cool to see like Izzy with her tiktoks and whatnot,
has really helped put University of Florida Hockey on the map.

Oh, yeah, I've gone to like most of the games
and a half away.

the games and I'll do all like their Instagram stories
and stuff. And then I've done some like tiktoks with
the rookies like last year, and just like social media copriting,
so doing the captions. But this year I'm kind of
more overseeing all the content. So I'll come up with

ideas for everything, and then we do like TikTok trends.
We're not actually not allowed to have a TikTok because
of the Florida state rules.

is legislation. I thought it was federal on TikTok.

They're trying to bang that was like they tried to
ban it.

This is separate from that. This was my freshman year
of college. They signed uh bill, no TikTok on public university.
Wi Fi can't do any of that. So none of
the teams i'd have TikTok I go on. I try
to go on TikTok at school. It doesn't work on

my WiFi. I have to go my cellular to use it.
It's a big It really sucks, say the leaks, but
like a commoner, geez, TikTok trends on reels. I know

The vision wanted to give me some examples of teams,
and the Gators will play like when they go up
to Jacksonville in their conference division the league, who.

high school graduated from there. Wow, that's crazy.

They'll play like other SEC schools like Georgia, Tennessee Alabama
hockey teams.

So maybe the best thing for the NHL that it is,
and maybe the best thing for the NHL for expansion
and improving their standing because they need it, is to
have a bunch of Florida teams in the finals. Say
people down there interested, because typically they aren't even as
far north as we are up in.

Pa and Jersey.
Speaker 5 (44:39):
It's still once you get into Connecticut and North it's
a different ball game.

Yeah it was. It's so easy. I lived in Minnesota
for nine years, and before I lived there, New York
Rangers games and Flyers games. I was like, oh, wow,
nothing beatsis. These are the greatest fans ever. And then
I got to Minnesota and had a chance to go
to a wild game when the Flyers were planning there,
and I was like, no, frickin way, no way, any

team anywhere can compete with anybody north and up. I mean,
from a standpoint of like fan, it's just it's remarkable.
I mean, my hair was standing up for like minutes
because of it. In all that's good stuff, I really

hoping for a hockey to make a comeback like how
it was when we were gosh, when we were your age.
