Speaker 1 (00:02):
Yeah, let the big dog Honelo again. Everybody. Welcome to
another episode of the Philly Pulse, your city sports beat.
I'm Joe stay Zak, one of the hosts. You have
the co host Sean Lockner upper left if you look
it straight, and of course the newest member Michael Warren.
He joined the show last week. Longtime friend of mine,
colleague of mine at heavy dot com. How you boys

(00:22):
doing hanging in Man. It's good to see you guys again,
been too long. It's been almost a week. We actually
have another podcast, a special presentation of more. John Marsh
was going to join us. He was part of a
report I just submitted yesterday to heavy dot com about
Diana Rassini's momentum building of the Toush Bush Band. We'll

(00:46):
get into that in a little bit, but again Micah
Heavy dot Com. Sean Lockner has been a long time
podcast partner of mine. Fellas, Let's let's get right to
the news of the day. The Toush Push has been
tabled to may I think the next owner's meetings. Your
thoughts on that, Michael will start with you. The packers

(01:08):
want to change the language. Now. Initially the specific language
was they didn't want you to be allowed to push
a player with the ball immediately after the snap. So
I guess that opens it up to a lot of things.
Well one Mississippi, right now, you can push the guy.
Eagles would find a way around that. They said they
need to do some more in depth searching into the

(01:33):
annals of the injury reports. There are none. They did
their data. They they've come back cleaned, no injuries except
for the Giants the BACA last year, And I wrote
about that in the story. It doesn't really count. It
basically tells me that still this is about, well, we
can't stop the Eagles. They're very good at it, so
we want it outlawed. And maybe it's gaining some more

(01:55):
interest or more people. Maybe they're just tired about it,
but they moved down the road. Do you think this
means bad news or at least more bad news or
worst news for the Eagles and it's just being not
voted to go forward today.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
I don't know. I think the whole injury argument is
a colossal waste of time. And I don't think you
should be I don't think you should be changing the
rules like this because someone's good at it, Although I
mean will Chamberlain, they widened the fouling for him. Iverson,
they changed the carry.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Rule based on all went whether they outlawed the shift.
I mean, there's a lot of things because esthetically it
doesn't work, or maybe it gives an unfair advantage or whatever.
You know, well, then what is it? Is it not unfair?
Every team can do it.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
But they don't. And I can't imagine, honestly, I can't imagine.
No other team has been able to pull it off. Yes,
Jaalen hurts six hundred pounds, a.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Little friendship line.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
They're big, they have a huge offensive line.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Shouldn't be punished for that pounds and he's one pushing.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I don't. I don't think they should be punished for
having a great roster. And if the Eagles didn't, let's
say the Eagles lost in the first round of the playoffs,
we having this discussion.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
No, because that would have been green Bay would have
beat I mean, they wouldn't have cared. They probably wouldn't
be talking about it, all right, fair second round? Now,
look it it was effective in all of the playoff games.
It was effective. I think it worked thirty nine times
this year and didn't accounted for or thirty seven first

(03:36):
downs and eleven touchdowns. That's a lot.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
That's a lot.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
That's a lot.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Sorry, you're not good at it.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Sorry, you're not good at it. Worked in the Super
Bowl for got six when the kid from Penn State
didn't quite get in at the want boom next play,
you know, and unless someone jumps like Lane flinches or
Isaac sayamalu or yeah or Luvu dives over and the
rep breaks out a rule that no one heard.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Did you know that rule?

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I didn't know that. I didn't know most of the rules.
I didn't know that one. Yeah, no one, No one
seemed to know it. I'm glad the refs did. I
I don't like it.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I was glad they explained it.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
They explained it. But yeah, but that's what I mean, like, if.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Such behavior continues, what's that? The ref said, something like,
if this behavior continues to behavior, we're gonna award a touchdown.
I did not even know that was a rule.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
No one did. Really, I mean, even you know, I
don't have Geene Territory is my favorite referee because he
changed the rules in the middle of the Super Bowl
for the first time. The Eagles won with the bobbling
on the ball. I love that.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Referee is the only referee I.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Like because it worked for us. But I don't even
know if he knew the rule. But Sean, what are
your thoughts on this?

Speaker 3 (04:49):
I said it earlier during pre show. I think the
writing is on the wall. I don't want it to
go away, but I think with the getting tabled to May,
I just think they're trying to find a way to
get the vote to sway in favor of it.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Okay, let me ask you guys this because we're from here,
and look, I believe Green and Silver, and I know
Sean does. And Micah saying if it was a different
team doing the toush push and a team that let's
say a team like say Dallas Dallas and they were
good and it was because if Dallas did it now

(05:28):
and they still suck, no one cares.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
How old am I?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
But if but if it's helping them win and getting
the Super Bowls and almost winning and then winning a
Super Bowl, because it's it's really almost a lock short
of a lock, it's pretty close to a lock of
a play, would we be saying the same thing.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
I don't think so personally, but I think a lot
of Eagles fans would if Dak Prescott was running the
Toush push and beating the Eagles, be a meltdown.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
I think you're right, be a total complete meltout.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
This is us, this is Crod football. That play isn't right.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Couldn't you see that? Couldn't you see that?

Speaker 3 (06:15):
From Delco?

Speaker 2 (06:17):
I do try to view as best I can ignore
my you know, I try to be objective, but you
don't know until you're in that spot.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
No, but listen, if it worked against me a lot,
and it was like like, okay, great, they stopped them
on second and seven. Now it's like third and two
and they pull that out, and I.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Go, well, there's certain broadcasters that say have said numerous
times this season, it's not first and ten for them,
it's really first and nine.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, which is almost accurate, right, kind of is it works?

Speaker 2 (06:57):
How many teams do you know that in short yardage
wouldn't use Saquon Barkley if they had them.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Isn't that amazing against the Giants this year when he
could have had like nine touchdowns, They had a lot
of opportunities at the one and they did touch push.
They went with their pro I like the fact that
they stuck with their playing I didn't. That is amazing
when you think about it, it's amazing.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yeah, And that was actually the main reason I didn't
draft him in fantasy football, because I was like, well,
he's usually you take running backs. You're like, well, look
at goal line carries.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Right right, right.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
So I was like, I don't think he gets hurt
all the time. And we don't have short yardage touchdowns
for running backs.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
No, they don't. So good good, good intel there, so
but yeah, no, I mean it's look, it didn't work
nine times this year, but those were eight of them
were on third downs, so they had an opportunity of
fourth down. They were eight to eight on the next play,
so they can do it twice in a row, and
they scored touchdowns or got first downs.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
It if they have first and goal with the two,
you know it's coming four times.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
If you need to, you got four cracks, line up
Christian sideways, upside down, backward, it doesn't matter, you know
what I mean. It's you know, and oftentimes it's like
two or three yards they gain on the play. It's
like when they got it going, when they got like
Jacksonville stopped him in that game in October once, maybe twice,

(08:26):
and maybe because Sharianni to do some things maybe he
wouldn't have done and got criticized for it. And I
think Washington might have stopped it once in that playoff game.
Other than that, I mean, work to a fairly well,
you know, and.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
It's it depends on how far out it is. True,
like last year you could probably pull it from a
yard yard and a half to two yards, but this
year is just not the same. It's like, you better
be really close to that line.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
You gotta be close. Unless it's third down. You got
two shots at it.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
I mean, you think that's a Kelsey thing.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
It worked, It worked pretty well if it was done
twice in a row this year. I think Kelsey might
have a little bit to do with it, although he
is small, but he did. He did look he was
a technique guy. And it's going to be a Hall
of famer.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Laurie brought it up during his press conference today that
they were actually worse this year than they were last year.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Yeah, it was going down all three years. It's going
down three years, except if you factor in the fourth
down play that didn't work on third down then it
actually went up, but because it didn't work on nine
third downs, it went down a little bit.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Well, hey, I mean if it stays, the good thing
Joe is they're thinking to where Kelly Green four times?

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Now? Yes, I did like that. I am. I am
a big proponent of the Kelly Green man. I can't
wait till they get rid of those Midnight Green unis.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
And yes, Joe and I go back and forth about this.
I've the Kelly Green and I love the old school. Look.
I think Jeffrey has a personal hatred and I think
Jeffrey gave us like, Okay, we'll give you a little
bit of it. I don't think Jeffrey enough to give
it to us four times.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
That's that's a good point. I guess when he bought
the team, he wanted the brand.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
That's what we talked about before he jumped on. Yeah,
he wanted to make it his own.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Yeah, which makes sense.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
But he's been trying to get that helmet change because
there was a different thing with the jersey the helmet
for a couple of years. So I think it'd be
really hated. I don't know if he would have likes money,
and I think.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
But Joe, he's kind of a fashion easta. I mean
he gets er wang to you know, design the cheerleaders outfits.
Think about it, Joe, you have a midnight green helmet
with a black uniform. That looks stupid. Why do you
think he wanted another helmet so he could get the
black helmet?

Speaker 1 (10:59):
It does look stupid. A lot of it looks night
green is just a bad bass and everyone even see.
I also think he likes when there's news about him.
They're very good. It's strategically placing stories. The national guys
go crazy when they wear their they're Kelly green. They
were watched Get Up and they talk about the one.
The best thing the Eagles have done this year besides

(11:20):
all the good things, is were those Kelly green uniform.
They are the best looking uniform.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Everyone loves it.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Everyone likes it.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Whether he personally likes or not, he's got to love
the fact that, Okay, well masters love it.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Yeah. But also I feel like he's the kind of
person that he's the type of person where he'll like
tease it, like I know I could give it to
you four times, but I'm only going to give you two.
I know, I could give you open training camps all year,
but I'm only going to give you one. Charge you
ten bucks. I'm going to donate it, but I'm only
going to give you one.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
I mean, come on, Well, we're gonna find out, because
you're gonna find out whether they're allowed. You know, we'll
see they can't. Well you're not out to wear them
in a playoff game or super Bowl obviously, And in
order to allow that complete change where that's your primary
uniform two years, it's like two years, you have to
have it in. Well, it's too late now because it's

(12:14):
April first, it has to be in by March. I
think the beginning of the NFL year for not the
coming year the next year was like.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Hey, we're gonna change, are you proposing?

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Well, no, because you have to have a lot of specs.
You have to and there's a lot of different you know,
you have to meet certain criteria, certain dates, and if
you do and everything goes right, Like detections, ditectionans have
like you know, Nike's worked with them and they have
like three uniforms now and they had to go through
a process. That's what would have to be a process
for them to become the primary uniform.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Now, you're telling me all these shitty teams in the
NFL probably have like a team that literally just works
on reintroducing the uniforms every two years.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Sure, well, they would, they would consult with Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
I think Nike can do some things right, and I've
seen them go off the rails a little bit with
those like baseball uniforms.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
They were the ones that came up with the Broncos jersey.
Not it's not I hate the I don't like the
Broncos uniforms, but those blue on the By the way,
I watched an hour long documentary on jerseys. The blue
on the side is actually there for function, not fashion.

(13:30):
Really okay, Yeah, they have like all the ways to
stretch this stuff so that the players are better.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
What's the name of this documentary?

Speaker 2 (13:40):
It was there's a there's a YouTube channel. I think
it's NFL History. I'm trying to remember because I eat
that stuff up.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Yeah me too, if you find it, send it to
me in the group chat. Absolutely, yeah, I watch what's that?
I'm screaming out, Michelle, we got something to launch. Meanwhile,
it was like, but.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Yeah, so there is a process to go through for
that and actually late nineties, when the Broncos came out
in ninety seven, they said that that was the wild
West of jerseys. Like Adidas used to make some Nike
rebox Yeah, I think Apex made him too. And when

(14:29):
they changed the Broncos uniforms in ninety seven, they won
the Super Bowl, so they were like, look at us.
I get excited about something, but I think to go
back to what we were talking about. I think the
Kelly Green. So many people love the Kelly Green of
a certain age because Man Eagles fans always just have

(14:52):
such nostalgia for the Buddy Ryan years.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Dude, like the Buddy you know what. To be honest,
when I think about it, that was my he sucks.
Besides this very season, I would go back to even
before the Donovan when they were making you know runs
at the Super Bowl. Whenever. I liked the Randall team.
I like covering them. I like being at the games
on the sideline. That was my aside from the Vermeal

(15:16):
team that I really grew up with made the Super
Bowl lost in Super Bowl fifteen, the Raiders like that,
that Randall team was my That was my squad. Yeah,
before this team, this team. Really, I mean this team
has it over Nick Foles team.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Yeah, they're much better.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
I mean I like the way they did things this year,
just they were, and the way they ended it on
so that they saved their best two games for last year,
and how they were such in a Hurricane Jerkey situation
after the first four games and the Saquan drop and
the bye and the Browns, the kick that got returned
for a touchdown against the Browns and barely winning that

(15:50):
and Sirianni y app it was a whole mess, and
how they it was an amazing season. Okay, to me
feel the wound filled the wound that I was carrying
around since I went to that Super Bowl two years ago.
That was just a debacle. But anyway, that was personal
for me. But I like the rand of the buddy.
You're right. Have we ever even liked the uniforms that

(16:12):
Vermili uniform the juwarste uniforms a little better that Jerry
Robinson uniforms if you go back a little bit. They
were kelly green and silver, didn't have the black, But
I just those were my favorite, and the second ones
were the ones and then the ones they trot out
now ones that trot out now are actually a little
combo between nineteen sixty and the one in the nineties.

(16:33):
The helmet doesn't have the it just has a silber,
doesn't have the streak along. It's just a detail.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
All I'm saying is here's a prime opportunity for Jeff Freely. LORI.
You have four options for uniforms now, so I introduced
four color schemes with your existing logo everything, and do

(17:01):
like the gray helmet that you have in the back,
do white come up with different color schemes like I
always joke with Joe saying, become the Oregon Ducks of
the NFL would give us, Like.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
I don't think you can just do that randomly.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
Yeah, you're not at You still have to okay.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Your alternate uniform, it still has to go through a process.
It leads up to it by a year or two.
So you can't just say, oh, we have four days
to do throwbacks and we'll just mix.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
No, no, no, I get that. What I was saying
is like just give I don't know or yeah, like yeah,
it doesn't make sense.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Do you know why they can't change the uniform from
here to year wise? For the helmet right marketing. Okay,
so I remember I don't know if you guys remember this.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
When Chad Johnson changed his name to Ojo Sinko, they
made him buy back all the jerseys that were out
there for sale. He didn't care, but I mean, but
it makes sense if you get your your kid a
Jalen Hurts jersey for Christmas or whatever and then change

(18:10):
your name, change the like that's yeah. I wouldn't care
because I'll buy any jerseys, but that's not fair to
some people who are like you ever see the people
at a game when a player leaves the team and
they had his jersey and they'll like put the new
guy's name on the back with like tape.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
I mean, right now I'm doing it. That's Carson Wentz.
But I it doesn't. I flipped it. So everybody, thank you?

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Aja, yeah, or like, if you're the Patriots, didn't they
have a burning session for Aaron Hernandez jersey or there
was one other where they actually allowed you to go
in in exchange for I can't remember what happened. It
might have been Hernandez, but yeah, you could you could turn.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
I remember if I remember correctly, Micah, the thing that
you just mentioned about Ocho Senko changing his name and
they made him when they introduced where there was no
locks on numbers. Remember where it was like linebackers now
can have any number from one TONI I hate it. Yeah,

(19:17):
well I think didn't they say if you switched the
number the first year you have to buy you have
to buy all there. There's like a penalty costs or
something like that, if I remember, and I think it
was similar to what you described.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Yeah, I don't know, but it would make sense that they.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Wouldn't have so many rules about Look Davidge, you know
what he does for a living. Now, he goes around,
he's like a he's.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
Like a uniform police uniform.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
Gestapo guy.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
He goes Really, wasn't he in jail?

Speaker 1 (19:44):
That's possible, Yeah, it's probably.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
The Express actually has a thing. It's a in uniform insurance.
So like if you purchase a uniform and really yeah,
uh huh they brought there were commercials for it.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Approachase a uniform and what.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Don't you don't change the name for you, there's gotta
be a time one on that you.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Wus the premium on that insurance, it's going to cover
you more than cost enough buy another jersey for or.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
There was I remember seeing the NFL commercials we could
look it up on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Or or the cost of having an MX card.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Right exactly, Like, are they kidding me with that?

Speaker 3 (20:28):
I'm sorry, Joe midtime, I've come more prepared.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
No, No, I.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Don't believe that that doesn't exist. I just I think
it does exist, and I think you're it's ridiculous that
it does exist.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
Interest rate of I guess do the math right?

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Just buy another jersey for gosh shakes. Anyway, All right,
let's let's move on because the Phillies have been taking
over headlines a little bit. I know, we like talking
he goes and I can't get enough of it. I
still can't get enough. Yeah, you know what I mean.
I'm watching Get Up and after they get through the
Lakers bullshit and I got it, then then they'll talk
toush push and I still can't get enough. But Billy's

(21:07):
a three and one. They haven't gotten off to a
great start against starting pitching, but man, they've been feasting
on opponents bullpens. And listen, you played on the go
the whistle and football you played till you know all
nine innings are done and whatever it takes these days. Right,
those are three and one. Your thoughts so far on

(21:27):
the team. You got alc bum leading off, warps, just
batting third, got three home runs, still still banging the ball, right.
Your boy Tray Turner came in and extended you know,
the game the other night. Even though he's hurt. Doesn't
he have like some kind of injury that he was
a good move.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
I think that was a nice little move on Topper.
You know he wasn't going to play. They wanted to
rest him for his back, and you know, hey, let's
do it. Nice move.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Was lucky to have a job. It was me he'd be.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
You know, you don't like him, not a big Michael.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
We're gonna have some fun. I think that three. We're
now all gonna argue. It's gonna be so much fun.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Yeah, it makes for better radio.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Tell me as jewelry Box. You know they're going backwards.
Guys are not going forwards. If you're not going forward,
you are going backwards. And they have going backwards all
three years.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
Now.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Thing's changed when the playoffs have come around, and he
still makes egregious moves in the boat with the bullpen
in the playoffs, and.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
I get it. We're four games in, man, we're four
games year.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Everyone was like, oh, it's like in May or June.
Everyone's like, man, this team is going to be unstoppable.
We're going all the way. And I was like, it's baseball, Chill.
There's a long season.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
There's a long season, ebbs and flows, ups and downs,
and the fields can.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Get hot or cold at any point, and all I
think is just just getting the dance, just getting the
playoffs and then hope you're on fire.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
The best team in baseball not always wins the World Series,
and I think that's the greatest thing about the sport.
It really is. It's it's awesome.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
In two thousand and eight, I don't think we were
the best team in.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Base Absolutely, the Red Sox would not win that game,
shoving because I don't think they matched up well against
the Red Sox.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Come on, seriously, and they faced Tampa Bay had a
good three four five lineup with some good, very good pitching.
But like you said, I didn't want to face the
Red Sox. No, I'd rather play Tampa Bay.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
It's kind of like with football. Why is it when
we make the Super Bowl. We're always playing against Brady
or a Mahomes. Like when Peyton Manning won in six
he ran up against Rex Grossman. Yep, I understood, So
I'll take the I'll take the Tampa Bay series.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
That's why I I'm a big hockey guy. Every time
the Flyers have made the finals, since they won two
Cups like a zaillion years ago, they've run into dynasties
Red Wings, Canadians, Oilers, Islanders, you know what I mean.
Oil there's twice Blackhawks. Black Hawks who won three and

(24:27):
five years they would always run into. They never got
like that team that kind of came out of nowhere
like they were in twenty ten, and they never played
them when they were good enough to win a Cup.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
They did.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
We got a freebie there because that was not a
good Flyers team.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
I don't think no, but they but they got hot
and got in on the last game twenty ten and
they made it wrong and.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
We beat the Devils.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
I was like, uh, people forget that. The Penguins and
the Caps got knocked out in the first two rounds,
which certainly helped. They have to go through those two guys,
you know, they we the big upset so okay, the
path became easier.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Sure, I mean it was certainly exciting hockey.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
That gosh, that's like Chris Terry and three shutouts against
and the play. I mean it was. He was a
big difference. He got the concussions and they were never
the same. They also sent Babrovski, who's now like a
Hall of Fame goal tend No. One. He went somewhere
in the press box and disappeared. They went with a

(25:28):
three three goaltender lineup or situation that only had two
and one was Michael Layton what.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Because he's terrible.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
They thought bringing bris in that they could keep Bob's
as a backup, and Bob's was like, yeah, no way.
Well and that's what he was like, I want to trade,
I want to is.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
Still getting paid. He was twenty three million last year.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
He's a weirdo with the stars.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
He's he's a universe so much big. So all right,
so you still gotta like.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
See so far. I mean, it's baseball. They're gonna be
a good team. They're gonna be in it. I'm not concerned,
you know, if they stay.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
That's my point, Sean, just just get in there. They're
gonna be fine. Just let it.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
Joy, Yeah, enjoy it. You know. I feel like Andy Reid, Hey,
enjoy the win.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Win man a couple.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Just enjoy and and it seemed like like yesterday it
was great. And to hear like, uh, Max Kepler, come
out again. It's only been four games, and he's like, man,
I really love playing here. It's really fun to play here.
Yesterday it was like play a playoff atmosphere.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Forty now at the Bank again.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Sure, but they're.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Gonna get the crowds, Joe. They're gonna get the crowds,
and they're gonna be a good team throughout the year. Again,
they're gonna have to show it and prove it to
us in the play. I totally agree with you. That
is my mentality when it comes into there. But with Mike,
like he said, let's just get in, let's get in,
get in. However, you gotta get in now with a

(27:12):
little bit of like momentum.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
And I'd rather be hot at the end of the
season than early.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
Absolutely, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
You know, there's so many Phillies, young Phillies fans that
I come across that think the Phillies are just awesome,
and I do you know, what the vet looked like
in ninety four, nobody there. Remember they used to give
you a Phillies ticket in your Phillies Franks hot dogs
Philly Franks, and they came with a free baseball ticket.

(27:45):
I guess I have to buy two packs of hot
dogs now if I want to take somebody or we're
not sitting together.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
It was pretty bad. Things were rough, but I mean.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
In ninety three was a surprise.

Speaker 5 (27:59):
We were like we came out of nowhere. Yeah, you
know what it was too with that everyone was healthy,
remember like Dalton and Crupt. Somebody was always hurt that
we really needed badly.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
And that was the you know, performance enhancing drugs were
such a great thing back in the day too, Micah.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
The Phillies.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Did they bypassed the Phillies? I don't remember anyone except
everyone else did they did they not get the memo?

Speaker 2 (28:28):
I mean, you know you can take steroids.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
You know, it's okay, guys to keep up with jup.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
But hear the stories that come out of that macho
row like Lenny Dykstra, I mean to hear he went
to jail, but hiring p I s to get dirt
on the umpires.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Oh, I didn't hear that one.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Yeah, really, because you have to talk. He liked to
get in their heads a little bit.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Yeah, so he would hire private investigators to get shipped
on umpires, find out what they did at road trips, whatever,
find out wife's names. Everything seems like.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
It's Lenny, what do you what do you expect? Yeah,
he's he's out there, man. We had him on the
radio show once. He shot with you said next to
me at the diner and he was just out yeah
a long time ago at Andy's Diner and Coacha Hockeen
and like you just had to make sure as Mike
was down, when you weren't on the weren't on the air,

(29:30):
and even when you were on your head to be careful.
He was just like, you know, during a break, he'd
be like, are we going to talk about pussy?

Speaker 2 (29:38):
You know?

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Ire in ten seconds. I'm like, yeah, we'll afterwards about pussy.
Lenny just put you. I saw my god, Oh my god,
oh my god.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
I saw a Inside Sports. Remember Inside Sports is that's
still even on on HBO.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
No, but I used to love that show.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Very well done, really well done.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
They didn't win sixty minutes of Sports phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
I think it just ended.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Oh Jacon, I haven't seen it, and it was phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
I agree, like a couple of yes coming.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Back and Gumble doing a little tato tape with the
reporter that was the best part and getting some information
that wasn't in the piece.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
But they were always great TV, so well done, did well.
Inside Sports did a piece on Lenny Diykester being this
finance genius because he made a lot of people illegally.
You made a lot of huh.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Jim Kramer used to go with Lenny's picks. Oh my god,
I thought I was watching I was really I used
to be a day trader kind of, and I'm watching
Jim Kramer. One night. I watched him more than I
did Sports Center.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
This time.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
I was dialed in right before everything cleft, and he'd
be like, you know, Lenny Dykser thinks this, and which
which what who Lenny Dykster is now on? At what
are you talking about? He goes, yeah, the baseball what
you're going with Lenny Dykster's pitch? And apparently, like however
Lenny did he was hot for a while and then
of course.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
He was So they did a piece on this baseball
player becoming this financial guru, and like you said, you
know how, they interview the journalist after afterwards, and I
forget who it was that asked. I think it was Bernie.

(31:28):
She asked like, how did he get this good? Like
what was your take on him? He goes, he's got
a ton of success. But I honestly thought to myself,
how did this guy become so rich? Clearly he came
off as a numbskull.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
He did.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
I remember that episode?

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Are you really?

Speaker 3 (31:50):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah he was.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
He actually he actually juiced. Do you ever see that
that that poster where his nails when he came back?
So he looked good and he played better and he
hit more home runs, but the rest of the team
again didn't get the memo. But he kind of like
shark that question and it was weird, but it was obvious,
like it was one of those like it was the
left handed picture for the match. Yeah, I tried it

(32:16):
but didn't like it. Oh really, you didn't like your
fastball going off three miles per hour?

Speaker 2 (32:20):
I mean, I forget, I can see him. Is it Santana?

Speaker 1 (32:25):
No, it wasn't Santana. I was, Oh my god, I
am getting old. No, he was for the Yankees. He
said he tried it and pet Yeah it was Andy Pettitt.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
You right, Oh, I think he showed up in the report.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
He did, but he said he was manly did it,
but it kind of limited. I tried it but didn't
like it. I'll really say, you in heale, but didn't
in heale? Yeah right, you know what I mean. It's like, okay,
President remembers he missed. I love that word every time
someone I missed from Roger Clemon.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Remember remember like a rod right, Uh, my cousin and
I when I lived down there. Yeah, we didn't really
know what we were doing. I'm like, who doesn't know
what they're doing with a steroid needle? He said, like,
we didn't do it right. You have to be part

(33:26):
of my language. You have to be ship all stupid, right,
you think that we're going to buy that?

Speaker 1 (33:30):

Marris coming on tomorrow. We'll talk more about this was
