This week, the Ralph Emery Show is visiting with Ed Bruce.
And I would imagine when you walk through airports or
along the street, or people see you out anywhere, they
possibly would say Hello Tom.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Does that happen? Not so much, Hello Tom. Most of
the time it is high or whatever. But a funny
thing happened in La At a few weeks back. Ron
Peterson had come out to La We had been a
(13:52):
long time since we'd worked together, and he was going
to come out there and spend a few days. Well, see,
maybe we ride something now we It was on a Saturday,
and Patsy and Ron and I were sitting down on
the patio and we're kind of in kind of mood
(14:12):
that that if we do write something, that's great. If
we don't, we're gonna go to dinner and that's fine too.
Uh So we sat out there for a while and
we had a couple of things working, but nothing just
really just blew us.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
Away or God finished. So we decided we'd go to dinner.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
We were gonna go down to Uh Santa Anna to
the Crazy Horse Steakhouse, and we decided we'd get his
car to go and uh cause we'd know it was
kind of warm day and we'd had a couple of
cool ones, and not wanting to take any chances, we
decided we'd rent a car. So we'd drive car picks
us up and we'd go down and we'd pull up
(14:47):
in front of uh the Crazy Horse. Getting out of
the car and there's a guy backing out the door
with a takeout order, and he and Ron bump into
each other.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
And Ron turns around apologizing to.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
The man, and the guy's looking at him and runs thinking,
oh my god, he's going.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
To hit me.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
And then he realized that the guy was looking right
past his head and he looking at me and he said, hey,
I know you're you're on Rockford.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
Yeah, right, just went on in the door. But most
of the time.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
People will will say, ed, you know, they're on the
planes whatever. They'll come up asks for an autograph, and
they'll say they like the show and also like your music.
It's it's kind of surprising how many people are connecting
the two different careers.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
People know that Ed Brews the singer is Tom Guthrin.
My favorite story along that line is the lady who
came up to Barbara Mandrell and said you're you're, you're,
and Barbara thought she would help her. She said to
Barbara Mandrel, she said, no, that's not it.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Well, a couple of weeks ago when I got back,
now I live, I don't. I don't really live near
a town. The closest thing I lived to is Fairview.
Between the Fairview. Do we have to do something else?
You can tell this later.
Speaker 5 (16:09):
