The Outsiders, Coppola's coming of age film about teenagers in mid century Tulsa, Oklahoma overcoming adversities and fights with the Socs was a hit with audiences and critics alike. But what about Coppola's lesser known follow up to the Outsiders, the black and white arthouse film Rumble Fish, a story about teenagers in mid century Tulsa, Oklahoma, overcoming adversities, getting into fights, and playing pool in the summer where everyone is hot and sweaty. But at its core is the story of a teenager who idolizes his mercurial older brother. This movie, despite its similarities with The Outsiders and being written by the same author, did not reach as high a level of popularity. Why is that? Don't worry, we have answers.
Disney is on a roll with live-action remakes of its beloved animated epics, but has garnered some backlash over choices made to some characters' ethnicity. We have some suggestions that might help.
