From chaotic party energy to intimate upstairs vibes, consent-forward play, and some unforgettable community moments (including a glow job event), this night had everything.

We’re talking venue highlights, unexpected surprises, the kinky baker's toastie shack you didn’t know you needed, and why this felt like one of the most inclusive, electric events we’ve ever been to. If you've been curious about sex-positive nightlife, this is the review that might just tip you over the edge.

Jayson (00:00):
For today's episode, we're going to be doing an event
review.
So over the weekend, we wereoff to the world for Glow at the
Townhouse, hosted by Mr and MrsG.
Let's get into it.

Rebecca (00:11):
Cool, so to start off with, I thought we'd kind of
discuss the general vibe andatmosphere.
So we personally had previouslyhad a few bad experiences with
swingers before heading down, which had led us to be slightly
wary of the scene.
to kind of preface this like alot of this was we hadn't really

(00:31):
been in like any swinger eventsit had more been at like mixed
spaces where we had kind of comeacross swingers and stuff and
had

Jayson (00:40):
quite places where there had been kink and swingers
mixed evenings

Rebecca (00:47):
and had kind of had some bad experiences with people
just being quite pushy butbeing also boundary focused like
it felt like we were kind ofplaying with like two different
rule books at times in terms ofwhat seemed to be acceptable.
But I think...

Jayson (01:06):
Yeah.

Rebecca (01:06):
Yeah, it's kind of led to us like tarring everyone with
the same brush, which onreflection has not been great.

Jayson (01:12):
Yeah, yeah.
I think it was more down tothese individual places and the
sort of culture within theseindividual venues and things
would have been before.
Yeah.
But...
that has left room for that tohappen.
But

Rebecca (01:29):
a few months ago, we went to House Party, which was
another event down at thetownhouse.
We were down for the townhousemarket and we're down a day
early and thought, do you know,we're going to be here all day
tomorrow.
Why don't we go along, see whatit's like, dip our toes in a
different venue with differentpeople and see if the vibe's the
same.

Jayson (01:50):
Yeah.

Rebecca (01:51):
We got there, we found the people, the place, the
atmosphere to not only have atotally different vibe to our
previous experiences butactually loved it to the point
that we couldn't wait to comeback as soon as possible because
we just had such a great time.
Guttied we missed out on somany amazing experiences up
until now because of a few badeggs but, you know, onwards and
upwards I see us going to a lotmore things.

(02:14):
and a lot more places goingforward.

Jayson (02:17):
Yeah, I mean, that's it.
We'll never know until we tryit.
And definitely, for me, this isproof that it's not the same
across the board.
So it's probably worth our timeto go and check out everything
and see what it's like.

Rebecca (02:34):
So we had a wee look on the website and we were seeing
what events were kind of takingour fancy, anything that was
kind of sticking out there.
And Glow just, yeah...

Jayson (02:44):
Aye, Glo was a standout for me.

Rebecca (02:47):
Aye, definitely.
I mean, we love a rave, we loveUV, and we had met the host
before and knew we got on, so itjust was pretty perfect, to be
honest.
When we got there, it totallydid have a rave feel.
It was nice how the energychanged from room to room.
Totally felt like a party inthat it was more social, and the
smoking area and the bar, therewas seats and stuff where

(03:09):
people could sit and have achat.
it was more sensual and kind ofloud in the rooms upstairs

Jayson (03:15):
and quite like chaotic and like a rave in the main room
where the music was the loudestand everybody was in dancing
and having a good time

Rebecca (03:31):
it totally did what it said on the tin

Jayson (03:33):
absolutely but it also gave spaces for you to go and
have a bit of a chill out whenyou'd had enough dancing or you
inevitably get too warm and needa little rest.
There are plenty of spaces togo and sit and be able to have a
conversation at a reasonablelevel because the music was

(03:56):
quieter in the other rooms andthe more social spaces.
I

Rebecca (04:03):
think they did a really good job of having such...
a variance in kind ofatmospheres throughout the space
but like still kind of allkeeping the same vibe.
Yeah.
Everybody was really friendlyand nice and just having a great
time.

Jayson (04:16):
I think the vibe very much did go throughout the whole
venue and all the spaces butwas subtly different so that you
could generally had all thesedifferent spaces for whatever
you needed at that time.

Rebecca (04:31):
You could kind of tailor your experience as you
seen fit throughout the night.
Yeah.
Yeah.
cool so up next can you talkabout like the entertainment and
activities that we're on um sothe first thing we did when we
got in was get a uv jello shotfree on arrival which you know
you kind of sniff at that thatwas great

Jayson (04:50):
yeah and uh you know surprisingly for once uh jello
shots were actually nice whichnever happens props to them for
that one

Rebecca (05:00):
there was an area where you could get uv body paint and
like transfers and stuff forfree again

Jayson (05:06):
yeah so we got lovely and painted up

Rebecca (05:10):
yep it was great for anybody who's maybe like outfit
maybe didn't glow under the UVlight as expected yeah like
Jason

Jayson (05:21):
do you know I've picked out this bright colourful outfit
that I thought ah this willdefinitely look great under UV
light and yeah

Rebecca (05:31):
sadly disappointed yep

Jayson (05:33):
need to maybe rethink that one for next time we

Rebecca (05:36):
need to find our wee we have thrown quite a few like UV
parties back in the day and hadlike a little UV torch that
we'd bought because we were liketesting everything like all the
decorations and stuff and Ihave no idea where it's gone
need to look at it again aye

Jayson (05:51):
I will be checking my outfit before we go next time

Rebecca (05:59):
yeah so you could get all painted up if either you
didn't You didn't have a UVoutfit or

Jayson (06:05):
your outfit.
Just a little cherry on top.

Rebecca (06:07):
Yeah.
Yeah, it was great.
There was also a photo boothwith, like, an actual
photographer that had printedout photos, which was amazing.
Way more than I expected whenI'd seen...
Do you know, you think...
You hear photo booth, youthink, like, a little stall,
like, that you get your passportphoto taken in.
But no, they had a full, like, backdrop and...
Yeah, the photos have turnedout great.

Jayson (06:29):
Yeah, a lovely wee memento to take home from the
event.
It was great.
Another

Rebecca (06:35):
wee point in favour of new people that are maybe not
used to going to clubs and stuffwhere you kind of have a phone,
you kind of take pictures, youkind of take videos of your
night.
I think it's a good way ofencouraging people to uphold
that rule if you've got it builtinto the event.
A space where people can go andget photos of all their cool
outfits and their cool UV paintthey've just got done.

Jayson (06:55):
Definitely, definitely.
Aye, because that is adifficult one because you don't
tend to necessarily be in yourfull outfit until you're inside
the venue and at that point, nophones.
So it is really nice to havethe opportunity to get
professional pictures done inyour full outfit.

Rebecca (07:18):
So there was an event or an activity that we missed
because me being me forgot torecheck the event details before
we got there.
And

Jayson (07:27):
we kind of just got caught up having fun.

Rebecca (07:31):
Totally.
It meant quite a lot of stuffwhen the night was a surprise,
which was awesome.
So, like, that's always fun,you know.
Got to get that dopaminesomewhere.
Yeah, it did mean we missed oneof the activities, but we did
see quite a few people dottedaround throughout the night
with, like, UV rope harnessesand stuff on.
Yeah.
They might have came from thisactivity.

(07:52):
I'm not sure.
They might have just broughtthem themselves, but...
There's every chance that thatwas what was going on there.

Jayson (07:59):
We did manage to catch one of the other activities, the
glow job competition on thestage in the main room.

Rebecca (08:09):
Yeah, that was extremely entertaining.

Jayson (08:13):
So initially we thought it was glow in the dark condoms
that were being handed out.
Yeah, we were trying to

Rebecca (08:19):
get in close to kind of see what was getting handed out
through Mrs G's bum bag.

Jayson (08:24):
Later it turned out it was actually badges for people
who were participating in theactivity.

Rebecca (08:30):
Yep.
Very inclusive as well.
It wasn't just like, it wasn'tgendered in any way.
It was just anyone doing oral, which was great.
Love to see it.
Yep.
So there was, I think it waslike, I got a glow job or I gave
a glow job badges that peoplewere getting out but the glow in
the dark condoms are definitelya shout for next time because I

(08:52):
feel like that would haveworked well.
Yeah, this was another reason Iwas kind of gutted that we
never checked the eventbeforehand because it was
something we...
upon speaking about itafterwards were both definitely
up for it but hadn't had achance to kind of pre-discuss it
and it wasn't necessarily theright time I think due to like
with everything going on.

Jayson (09:13):
Yeah because that was in the main room where loud music
and things so had we checked theevent details beforehand we
could have had that conversationand probably participated but

Rebecca (09:32):
There's always next time.
It's definitely happening inthe next one.
Cool.
So the next section is thevenue and location.
So obviously, as we'vementioned, this happened at the
Townhouse World.
Absolutely love the venue.

Jayson (09:50):
Yeah.
It's a really, really coolvenue.
Love the way that the place isdecorated and it's so...
colourful and campy andinclusive and it just it's a
really really nice place to be.

Rebecca (10:11):
Yeah, it's a breathy fresh air I find from no to put
down other venues we've been toknow at all, it's just that
there's quite a traditional waythat these places tend to be
decorated and have a certainfeel to them and Townhouse is a
bit of a breathy fresh air forme and that it's totally
different to anywhere else thatI've been and that it is bright

(10:32):
it is fun it's no kind of

Jayson (10:36):
it's not dark and seedy that's the

Rebecca (10:41):
dark and seedy is fun

Jayson (10:42):
sometimes dark and seedy is fun sometimes it has it's
moments it's also nice to gosomewhere that's bright and
colourful and like you know livein that ADHD dream

Rebecca (10:52):
yeah totally so it's a bit of a rabbit warren in true
swingers club fashion It's setover three floors but I think
possibly four because there'sthe dungeon downstairs although
that was closed for this event.
There's two smoking areas and atoasty shack.
It's great.
It's great stuff.
So it's well kitted out withbondage gear and furniture,

(11:17):
group rooms, lots of bedsincluding monk beds with little
cubbies underneath if you want abit more privacy.
It's got multiple private roomsand even has a medical room.
So This is another thing where,as much as it's a swingers
club, it's quite a kink.
I don't want to say it'skink-focused, but it definitely
is very inclusive

Jayson (11:37):
of kink.
Yeah, kink is clearly at theheart of what goes on there as
well.
It's

Rebecca (11:43):
not an afterthought.

Jayson (11:44):
You very much feel that throughout the venue.
Their upstairs dungeon roomis...
really well kitted out andthey've got like a big spinning
wheel mounted to the wall andthere was actually some new
additions in that room since thelast time we were there there

(12:04):
was

Rebecca (12:06):
all like the kind of racking and stuff in the ceiling
for doing like

Jayson (12:09):
yeah there was um Sex swings and stuff.

Rebecca (12:13):
Yeah, it had the sex swings on it.

Jayson (12:14):
Yeah, all set up.
That was new since the lasttime we'd been there.

Rebecca (12:18):
Which we did actually see getting used a few times.
So as much as I would say, youknow, this was a swingers event
and the kind of more dungeonstyle rooms were used a bit
less, I would say, than a lot ofother like group rooms and
stuff like that.
They still were used on thenight.
There still was people comingalong and doing more kind of
like BDSM scenes.

(12:38):
Yeah.
And amongst...
So I think the venue beingkitted out to the extent that it
definitely plays a role inthat, that it is kind of a good
mixture of people coming fromall different communities and
people that are part of alldifferent communities having a
space to go

Jayson (12:57):
to.
Yeah, I mean it definitelyfeels like it is set out for
people who are part of both orat least have an interest in
both.
Yeah.

Rebecca (13:09):
It's amazing just how much is going on inside when you
see it from the outside.
It's like proper TARDIS style.

Jayson (13:14):
Oh yeah, very unassuming from the outside.

Rebecca (13:20):
The stairs can be a wee bit tricky when it's busy,
especially, I would say.
But I don't know, everybody'sso nice and polite that it
doesn't make too much of adifference.
People tend to stand at the topor the bottom and let people up
and down.
Do you know, it's one of thesewhere...
it could feel a lot worse ifpeople were being pushy and rude
and not really respecting otherpeople, but there's just a nice

(13:45):
vibe.

Jayson (13:45):
And I think if a lot of these people are regulars,
they're in there all the time, they're used to it, they kind
of...
They've got their own weesystem of how to deal with it
even when it is a sold out nightand really busy like it was
when we were there for Glow.

Rebecca (14:04):
I'm glad I wore flats though.
I think that would be adifferent story.
Wearing heels.
For me, personally.
We were having a drink so wegot a taxi along from our hotel.
We didn't have any difficultyfinding the place.
Obviously, we've been therebefore, but even when we've been

(14:24):
before, it's not somethingthat...
It's on Google Maps.
It's easy enough to find.

Jayson (14:32):
And even if you were going in a car, in your own car,
on their website, all theparking information and stuff is
like really easy to find yeahreally clear uh telling you you
know where not to park and

Rebecca (14:48):
well when we were there for the market we had the van
so like we we have parked thereas well and found it dead easy
you know so aye there was alwaysother people walking in in neon
fishnets that you could followto get into the door as well
which was handy you know therewas there was no doubt where
quite a lot of the people on thestreet were heading yeah The

(15:08):
queue to get in was spread intoanother room in the building
rather than outside the venue, which was really good.
We never mentioned that before.
It was quite nice having thatkind of privacy.

Jayson (15:19):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Even though you're not turningup in your...
the final stage of what you'regoing to be wearing in a lot of
cases it's still nice to nothave to be queuing out in the
street for anybody to go pastand sort of see what you're up

(15:39):
to

Rebecca (15:40):
I think as well a lot of people if they're wearing
lingerie or they're wearingmaybe not a lot they'll maybe
just have a coat over it andthough we were in the colds I
could see how some people couldbe and I thought it was just
like a nice wee extra touch andshows their kind of awareness of
people and their thought forpeople, that they were letting
people queue inside the venue.
Yeah.
Which was nice.

(16:01):
It gave us a chance to have awee look at the UV station as
well, because it kind offiltered into the room where the
UV painting was and the photobooth was, so we could have a
wee look and see what otherpeople were getting.

Jayson (16:13):
Start planning out our own designs and things.

Rebecca (16:18):
Cool, so the next part's like facilities and
amenities.
I feel like we've kind oftouched on some of this a wee
bit.
There's multiple locker roomswe change in areas that, again,
can get quite busy, but it's oneof them where there's going to
be peaks where that's moreduring the night.

Jayson (16:36):
Yeah, I mean, just very first thing when everybody's
coming in, they're quite busy, but they quiet down fairly
quickly once everybody's andunsettled.
And unchanged.
Yeah.

Rebecca (16:50):
Everything was very clean.
There was condoms, wipes, binsin every room.
That there was a play space.
You know, all the usual thingsyou would expect to see

Jayson (16:59):
were there.
So the one thing that I feel ismissing from most nightclubs or
just clubs in general is thatThere's never anything to eat.
So you get so far through yournight and be like, oh, I'm
absolutely starving.
I know that's certainly anissue for me.
However, not to worry.
Townhouse has got you coveredwith the kinky baker.

(17:23):
I've got a shack in the smokingarea where you can get
toasties, baked goods like cakesand tray bakes and things like
that.
He even

Rebecca (17:35):
had glow-themed ones on the night,

Jayson (17:38):
which was pretty cool.
It's an absolute godsend.
When you're at an event formore than a couple of hours,
it's so, so good to be able toget something to eat.
Just refuel when you're dancingaway and using lots of energy.

Rebecca (17:55):
Yeah, I had way too many of them, to be honest, at
this point.
Aye,

Jayson (18:00):
that's always...
a highlight of visiting thetownhouse is getting a wee
toasty whether we're there for amarket or for an event it's
always great to get a toasty

Rebecca (18:13):
so as we've mentioned the event was sold out so the
bar was quite busy at times justfor getting water and stuff
because we did a power ofdancing we did spend most of our
night dancing it was great thetunes were, we'll get into that
a wee bit later but when it wasbusy We were also roasting, so

(18:34):
we were like, quick trip out tothe smoking area, cool down.
They had these really coolglowing cube things that the
hosts had bought justspecifically for the event,
which was sick.
So there were plenty of placesto sit and just...
Have a wee breath, get someair.
And then by the time we wereback, it had cleared up a wee

(18:55):
bit and we were able to get intothe barn.
No bother.
So, do you know, it wasn't oneof these where it was like that
all night.
No, no.
Or for hours at a time.
Like, it's not even really acritique.
Do you know, it was a sold outnight.
That's going to happen atpoints.

Jayson (19:07):
Yeah.
You'd find it was maybe busyfor 10, 15 minutes at a time.
Yeah.
Go away, come back and it'dquieten right down.
Yeah.

Rebecca (19:17):
Cool.
So moving on to accessibility.
this is an area that I feellike the townhouse could
definitely improve upon

Jayson (19:27):
It's an issue that seems to plague every venue that
we've been in up and down the UK

Rebecca (19:37):
It's not something that's setting them apart and
that's a sad thing but I don'tfeel like it's fair to say that
like to make it a critique assuch because I know how
difficult it is to set up thesespaces at all and then you know
this could be a listed buildinglike you don't know what other

(19:58):
things are going on that meansthat that's not being because
the atmosphere and the way thatit's run and the things that
they hold important would leadme to believe that if there was
something that could be doneabout this it would be done
because literally everythingelse and every other aspect they
are so inclusive, they are soaccessible that I feel like this

(20:20):
is maybe like a wee sore spotfor them and it's something
they're not able to facilitaterather than it being something
they've not thought about to behonest.

Jayson (20:30):
I mean sort of like from a sensory accessibility point
of view the music was likeloudest in the dance floor area
but it was quieter in otherareas throughout the building.
So if that was too much foryou, there was still so much of

(20:52):
the venue available for you tohave that less intense
experience.
Which, even for me at times, itis nice to come into a quieter
space just to sort of decompressand take a wee minute.

Rebecca (21:10):
Aye, to enable you to go back and enjoy the rest of
your night.
You know, you need the downtimethroughout.

Jayson (21:17):
Yeah.

Rebecca (21:17):
Favourite kind of accessibility thing that I've
seen throughout the night wassomeone actually brought along
one of those foam kneeling padsfor during the glow job event,
which is hilarious, but like, hats off to them, you know?
They came prepared.
They came prepared.
They knew their limits.
They knew what they needed toget the job done.
So host presence andinvolvement.

(21:41):
The hosts were having the timeof their lives, clearly visible
and checking in with folks allnight.
Never seen them not dancing, laughing and getting stuck into
all the fun.

Jayson (21:50):
The other venue staff were also all wearing lanyards,
so they were really easilyrecognisable throughout the
whole venue all night.
So if you were ever needing tofind a member of staff or
something, it was really easy todo.

Rebecca (22:04):
Yeah.
Cool, so friendliness andcommunity vibe.
There's always going to becliques in places.
It's totally understandable andunavoidable.
Still felt included ineverything.

Jayson (22:16):
Yeah, even one of the times we were out in the smoking
area having a wee cool down, awee break.
Everybody was singing happybirthday to somebody.
And everybody all joined in.
It was just really, reallywholesome.

Rebecca (22:30):
There was such a community feel.
Everybody was in and outtogether kind of thing.
We left our bag in the lockerroom.
We took a play bag with us juston the off chance.
We weren't really sure what thenight was going to look like
for us.
So we took a play bag along.
It didn't fit in the locker.
So we ended up having to justleave it on top of one of the

(22:52):
lockers.
But genuinely weren't worriedabout it not being there when we
got back or anything like that.
It's not that type of crowd.

Jayson (22:59):
No, and there was regular staff check-ins
everywhere.
that I noticed in the lockerrooms and stuff like that so I
didn't feel like there wasanything to worry about on that
front

Rebecca (23:14):
Coming down from literally another country into
an established environment canbe quite daunting but we were
honestly made to feel so welcomeA few of the staff recognised
us from being down before Bothhosts and Lady C, the owner,
made a point to come and chat tous and thank us for coming
down.

Jayson (23:31):
That was really, really nice.
Just made us feel socomfortable.

Rebecca (23:38):
Just nice.
It's nice that people noticewho's in their club.

Jayson (23:44):
It's not just a get as many people in and don't really
worry about them sort of thing.
It's

Rebecca (23:53):
Like, feeling like a regular at this point, you know,
definitely.

Jayson (23:57):
We've only been a handful of times, so.

Rebecca (23:59):
I felt more welcome there than, you know, some of
the events that we've been upcloser to

Jayson (24:03):
home at this point.
Yeah, yeah.
It does feel like there's aconcerted effort to make people
feel welcome.
Yeah,

Rebecca (24:12):
totally.
It shows.
You know, it works.
we had a brief chat and a hugwith Dee one of the lovely
members of the team who gave usa tour at our first event there
they were lovely it was so nicegetting just it was very brief
you know we were all justwanting to dance but it was nice

(24:32):
just having that wee connectionthere again do you know yeah we
were talking about this in thecar up how honestly it felt more
welcome and seen than most ofthe events we've been to up
runabout local which I don'tknow why that is I don't know if
there's a part of this whereit's like do you know we're
coming from so far away thatpeople are like oh they're

(24:54):
coming like all the way fromScotland like we should make a
point to say hi to them or ifthere's something else going on
do you know what I mean but itjust yeah

Jayson (25:03):
it's just nice to feel so welcomed and so do you know
like people are like oh Wenoticed that you're new.
Welcome.
We've been here lots.
If you need anybody to chat to,come and sit with us.

(25:25):
Come and have a chat.
Come and...
Aye.

Rebecca (25:28):
Like actually hosting my events.
Aye.
As I said, we're stillpainfully new to this scene and
we've not quite decided what wewant out of it yet.
So far, we've just been reallyenjoying the vibes and just...
exploring and finding our feetand getting comfortable.

Jayson (25:47):
I think the big plus side to an event like this is
that there is so much going onin terms of the actual event
itself, in terms of theentertainment, music and events
and stuff that's going on withinthat you don't really need to

(26:08):
worry about oh, what am Iactually looking for from this?
It's not something you need tostress about or whatever because
there's so much else going onthat it is just a really nice
night out regardless of...

Rebecca (26:21):
Yeah, totally.
Literally, none of thatmatters.
The environment's set up to beno pressure.
You're there and you're gettingout of the night what you're
wanting to get out of the nightand that's kind of where that
line is, do you know what Imean, there's no this like oh
everybody needs to be doing xyzor they're no welcome or do you

(26:42):
know as long as you'rerespectful don't yuck anyone's
yum and have a great time that'sall that matters

Jayson (26:50):
so the next section we'd like to talk about is rules and
consent culture so we didn'ttake the tour this time round
since we've been a few timesalmost feels like we're becoming
regulars But the rules areclearly stated in every room,

(27:10):
all over the venue.
In the toilets, everything.
There's lists of the rules.
Really nice and clear.
And when you do get yourinitial tour the first time
you're there, you get a rundownof all the rules and then you're
given your tour through thevenue and reminded of certain

(27:33):
rules that apply to certainspaces as you go and then at the
end of the tour you're and itis it's very clear what happens
if you don't follow the rules uhand that if you see anybody not
following rules all you need todo is go to a member of staff
and then that will be dealt withimmediately

Rebecca (27:54):
yeah the tour was what really sold me on the place the
first time to be honest becauseAgain, it was just totally
different to what we hadexperienced before and I think
it's quite a good segue intoshowing that it's a friendly and
warm environment but it's asafe environment as well.

Jayson (28:12):
I think that's what allows me anyway to feel so
comfortable there is knowingthat there is all this safety
and stuff built into the sort offoundation of how this club
works.

Rebecca (28:28):
Yeah.
Totally.
Even the Glowjob event had apre-announcement stating the
importance of consent.
Which, do you know, I thinkit's great that even the stuff
that's fun and free and all ofthat still is paramount that

(28:48):
people are being safe.
And that is just threadedthroughout everything.
Even the stuff that's a bit offun is still conscious of Making
sure everyone is safe andconsensual and having fun.

Jayson (29:01):
And I think they managed to do it in a really nice way
where it doesn't feel like it'syou've got an overwhelming
amount of rules and thingsthat's taken away from the fun.
It just is so baked into theculture at this club that this
stuff is important and itdoesn't have to compromise the

(29:24):
fun.
To follow the rules.
I

Rebecca (29:26):
think that's what's great about it being on a lot of
the room, like the walls in therooms and stuff, is that, do
you know, I think, especially ifyou're new, I think we're in a
weird place where we're no newto events in general.
Do you know, we've been tovenues in the kink side of
things where there's rules.
So it's not like this is abrand new thing that we're
doing.

(29:46):
It's just a different flavour.
But for people that are brandnew, do you know, if you're
going into a place and you'regetting told X, Y, Z's, It can
be quite easy to be like, oh,what if I forget?
Or be worrying or trying tokeep them in your head or
something.
But it's right there for you.
It's not something that youeven need to think about until

(30:07):
it's relevant.
And then it's right there foryou to double check.
It's not, aye, it's great.

Jayson (30:13):
Like all the doors and things, especially upstairs when
it comes to the private roomsand things, they've all got
signs on them saying, do youknow...
If the door is closed, then therooms in use don't disturb.
Do you know?

Rebecca (30:27):
Yeah.

Jayson (30:28):
Aye.
Some of these things whichwe've found in other venues are
just left to...
You get told it once and thenyou've got to remember it.
Everything's all nice andsignposted and clear

Rebecca (30:43):
everywhere.
So at one point in the night,we were...
up in one of the group roomsand we were just watching what
was going on taking in theatmosphere and all the lovely
people that were getting up towhat they were wanting to get up
to um and there was a girl whoshouted over saying that she
needed a condom and three peopleshouted back we got you girl

(31:05):
and like threw some condoms overhere which was really cool like
it was quite nice becausethat's one of the rules that if
you're like playing with someonewho you're not like partnered
with they won't use condoms andit was quite nice like seeing
that like being followed inperson but in such like a cheery
again community friendly waywhere it doesn't need to be this

(31:28):
whole like structuredregimented like

Jayson (31:31):
it doesn't have to be that rules ruin the fun yeah
like it's

Rebecca (31:35):
totally

Jayson (31:37):
you can follow follow the rules and still have lots
and lots of fun and it wasanother nice opportunity for
people just to be supportive andbe nice and have that community
atmosphere.
It was really nice to see.

Rebecca (31:54):
Cool, so the next section is dungeon slash play
areas.
So GLOW being a more swingersfocused event, most of the group
rooms and private rooms werebeing used over the more BDSM
and dungeon themed rooms.
they were kind of mostly emptythroughout the night however as
I said we did see them get useda few times it wasn't that it

(32:15):
was a kind of this or that itwas very much a mixed space but
most of the action was going onupstairs and a lot of like the
kind of group rooms and thecouples room that every time we
were kind of going to wander andwalking past they were always
being well used which was niceto see you know people were just

(32:37):
getting stuck in and having funand doing what they were
wanting to do and like thereseemed to be some of the places
had like a queue which was themost British thing ever it was
great but yeah everybody wasbeing really respectful and
again everything was very wellkitted out very well decorated

(32:58):
very well equipped and Yeah, aswe've said, they had all the
usual stuff you would expect, you know, like sprays and wipes
and condoms and lube and

Jayson (33:08):
everything you need, really.
I think how well it's kittedout and stuff really helps to
sort of build that atmospherewhere people are really happy to
take part and get involvedbecause it's such a nice and
inviting space with everythingyou could need

Rebecca (33:32):
I think my favourite thing I've seen so there's like
a bigger group room that's gotkind of, it's a square room and
like in an L shape there's bedsand there was a couple that was
like wrestling across like threeor four of these beds, like it
was great like they were full onlike Having a wrestle.

(33:52):
But they had someone there thatwas kind of watching and being
like a ref, I think.
Just through context ratherthan actually hearing the
preamble discussion.
But while that was going on,there was what I was assuming
was a pro dom.
I don't know if it's mean toassume, but...

Jayson (34:09):
Certainly had that vibe and that sort of confidence.
She had a professional vibe

Rebecca (34:12):
and confidence, so...
that's a compliment that's notwow it was great to see so she
had a sub crawling around on thefloor while this couple was
wrestling and it was just it wasnice to see you know going from
a room where there was kind ofgroup sex and like some people

(34:34):
that were just in a couplehaving sex relatively vanilla
sex to like going into anotherroom where there was like people
full on wrestling and likesomeone crawling across the
floor and yeah.

Jayson (34:46):
Yeah, it was so nice to see that sort of level of mix
between between like kink andswinging going on which From the
events that we have been atpreviously, it has sort of felt
like it was missing in thesetypes of spaces, having that
mixture.

Rebecca (35:06):
Aye, when there was a mixed event, everyone was very
separate.

Jayson (35:10):
It was like oil and water.
Whereas this, it was so lovelyto see.
It was so intermixed.
It was one community ratherthan two communities in one
space.

Rebecca (35:22):
Yeah.
So, music and sound.

Jayson (35:25):
Yeah, so the music and the atmosphere were full-blown
entertainment, like in their ownright.
The tunes were absolutelybanging all night.
Getting lots of, you know, sortof like classic clubland type.
Yeah, so up our street.
Yeah, right back to childhood.

(35:47):
Yeah.
Proper...
proper summer vibes.
It was fantastic.
Yeah.
They had a

Rebecca (35:53):
good mix of that and house and trance and more modern
stuff.
Yeah.
It was great.
As I've said, we'd done a powerof dancing.

Jayson (36:02):
And it was...
Do you know, the music was sogood that it made it difficult
not to just want to go in anddance your wee heart out.

Rebecca (36:11):
Even you were dancing and you barely ever dance when
we go in.
It was great.

Jayson (36:17):
Yeah.
Yeah.
The music's always a bit of asource of maybe anxiety or worry
before an event because we havebeen to some events in the
past, some really pretty bigevents where the music has been

(36:39):
such a letdown that it'sactually been kind of difficult
to be in that

Rebecca (36:44):
space.
We've left early and not wentback because like I like
electronic.
I like dance music.
I like pretty much all music.
But it needs to be good.
I'm easy pleased.
There's not a lot of music thatI don't like.
And if it's bad enough it'smaking me leave somewhere.
Something needs to change.
But that was not the case.

(37:06):
Not the case at all.
Amazing.

Jayson (37:11):
People had whistles and stuff and were whistling along
to the along with the music andit just really had that like
proper party rave atmosphere umwhoever was in charge of picking
the tunes have done anexcellent job

Rebecca (37:28):
there's so much hannah lang on and you know i love me a
bit of hannah lang and likethere was a point where every
single person in that room wassinging along to hannah lang and
it was just yeah oh chillschills it was great

Jayson (37:42):
so In the main room, the music was nice and loud.
Loud enough that you just gettotally lost and immersed in it.
And

Rebecca (37:52):
people were dancing as well.
It wasn't just us dancing,obviously.
That would have been...
I can't think of anythingworse.
A lot of times, a lot of thingsyou go to, you know everybody.
It's so hard to coax people uponto the dance floor.
Especially, I don't know...
I feel like there's an extralevel to this, an extra layer to

(38:15):
it, when a lot of people aremostly naked, or naked, and are
still up there dancing their weeheart out, and just nares and
graces, just having a good time, just letting loose.

Jayson (38:28):
I think especially in a venue where there's lots of
other stuff going on, to alsostill have all those people
engaged in the dancing, it saysa lot for the music and the
atmosphere that was that wascreated there definitely

Rebecca (38:46):
aye so it was a good loudness in the main room

Jayson (38:48):
did make it difficult to have a conversation

Rebecca (38:50):
yeah it was quite your typical club you know shouting
and no understanding and sayingsorry five million times before
you're actually getting whatsomebody's saying to you but as
I've said you know A room over, you can go and you can sit on a
couch and you can have aconversation.
And

Jayson (39:09):
still be able to hear the music.

Rebecca (39:10):
And still be able to hear the music, but not too
loud.
So there was a good variancewhere you could go and still
have the music on.
There was no music on in thesmoking area.
So there was places that youcould go and have a bit quiet.
There was people talking andstuff, obviously, but...
Like, yeah.

(39:31):
The other smoking area, theone...
that's just like the littlealleyway that was down you know
you could come out and shut thedoors and it was totally quiet
like we had that to ourselvesmultiple times when we were just
out to get a bit of air and ohit was so cutely decorated and
it had like the little windchimes and stuff that was so

(39:52):
cute yeah as I sum up I mean whodoesn't want to jump around to
old school tunes in theirunderwear I know I certainly do.
I did.
I had a great time doing so.

Jayson (40:02):
Yeah, me too.
So we're going to talk aboutthe crowd and dress code next.
It was a really diverse mix.
Loads and loads of beautifulpeople.
All shapes and sizes, gendersand orientations.
So

Rebecca (40:20):
Felix Mutfdy from Sex Education was even there.
And upon looking up about it,when we'd left it turns out they
are now one of the new membersof staff at townhouse which is
amazing um running something todo with their social media which
i can't remember off the top ofmy head but yeah it was awesome
to see someone so recognizablethere i had that actual proper

(40:44):
fangirl

Jayson (40:47):
moment pretty much everybody uh had come dressed in
uv or in my case attempted toum But yeah, definitely there
was such a high level ofparticipation in the theme and
coming dressed appropriate tothe theme.

Rebecca (41:07):
Which did just add to the atmosphere.
Everywhere you looked, peoplewere glowing.
It suited the name.
It was great.
It had such eye.
It was magical.
To be honest, it was great.

Jayson (41:17):
Yeah, and I think it seemed like most people had also
taken part in the UV body paintand stuff as well.
It just was so nice to see suchhigh levels of participation in
the theme.

Rebecca (41:30):
Yeah, everybody was totally stuck into what was
going on.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Seen a lot of cyber dog gear, which I was totally jealous.

Jayson (41:38):
Yeah, there was some really, really cool outfits
going on.

Rebecca (41:42):
There was a person that had a dress on, and it was
like...
It was CyberDog, and it hadmoons and stuff down it.
Yeah, that was stunning.
Kind of almost cyber-tech-yvibes.
It was a black dress, but withthese UV moons and stars and
stuff on it.
It was so cool.
That was...
yeah.
Cool.
Just kind of additional thingsto add that haven't really fit

(42:05):
in.
Loved the pre-event Discord.
there was a group that set upfor townhouse and there was kind
of like a section of I have noidea how discord works for how
much I use it it's terrible butthere was like a section of it
we'll go with that that was setup for glow where people could

(42:25):
kind of give a wee introductionpost some photos kind of put
faces to names and say what theywere kind of looking for in the
night and I don't know thatjust set me so he'd like been
able to just been able to seesome of the people that were
going before we got there andlike as we were walking around
kind of recognize some peopleand like it felt it felt nice to

(42:49):
have kind of got a weeintroduction to some people
before we'd got there

Jayson (42:53):
yeah i think that was like a to be fair like another
point in the sort of likeinclusivity uh sort of aspect of
things and in the being made tofeel welcome is that you're
already able to do these sort oflike pre-introductions and have
a wee bit of an idea who somepeople are and oh do you know

(43:14):
like I recognise you from thediscord

Rebecca (43:19):
or for me recognising people's outfits because of my
terrible terrible face blindnessit was like oh I've seen that
lingerie set before laughing

Jayson (43:30):
Yeah, but I think that's a really good thing to have
done for the event and actuallysomething I would like to see
happening for more events.
Definitely.

Rebecca (43:42):
That's a good idea.

Jayson (43:43):
There was also at the bar a QR code for picking up
your tickets to the next glow.
Yeah.
Which we promptly scanned andhave picked up our tickets for
the next glow.

Rebecca (44:03):
Yeah, so of course we've picked up tickets for the
next one already.
Definitely going back to that.
Had a great time.
They're now on sale for thegeneral public.
It's on the 27th of September.
And yeah, if you like the soundof what we've described, go and
pick yourself up some ticketsand we'll see you guys there.
To grab yourself some tickets, check out the Townhouse website,

(44:25):
which is townhouseswingers.com.
Nice and easy.

Jayson (44:32):
So now we'll give the event an overall rating from 1
to 10.
1 being rubbish, 10 beingfantastic.
Brutal.
And I think we've had a weechat about it, and for us, we
would...
Give Glow a 10 out of 10.

Rebecca (44:53):
Yeah, definitely.
Do you know, we're going back.
Yeah.
We bought tickets, like, on thenight.
Like, we were already sold.
Can't really get much betterthan that.
It had a bit of everything thatwe enjoy and we're looking for.
Yeah,

Jayson (45:07):
it was an absolutely fantastic night and even worth
the quite a...

Rebecca (45:14):
Quite a lengthy journey.

Jayson (45:16):
Quite a lengthy journey for...
So, yeah, I definitely, definitely would recommend.

Rebecca (45:22):
Yeah, well, this has been our review of Glow, hosted
by Mr and Mrs G.
Thank you so much forlistening.
We'll see you guys in the nextepisodes.
