Jayson (00:01):
Welcome to episode 6,
our descent into hell.
Cabaret, coven of sins.
So today we're doing an eventreview for Hell Cabaret.
Rebecca (00:12):
An event we've been to,
I mean, we probably should have
checked but I've totally lostcount of how many times at this
point.
I think we only missed the veryfirst one.
Yeah, yeah.
And we've been to every onesince because we just fell in
love with it as soon as
Jayson (00:23):
we went.
Yeah, it's absolutelyfantastic.
Rebecca (00:25):
Yeah, absolutely
recommend it.
So it's not like your usualcabaret show.
The music is more industrial, alternative and metal and
they've got a focus onneo-burlesque, gore-lesque fire
and a mixture of otherprovocative acts with a bit of
(00:46):
fetish and kink mixed through aswell.
It's spectacular.
Founded by Selenia Castle, thedirector of Hell, Alongside a
troupe of amazing performers andspecial guests, Hell happens
around every three months andeach one is themed, bringing you
(01:06):
a spectacular performance.
This month's theme was Coven ofSins.
Let's get into it.
Jayson (01:14):
So on the night we
headed through to Edinburgh,
absolutely buzzing for thetheming of this rendition of
Hell.
So on brand.
Yeah.
It was great.
And for a change, we actuallymanaged to get through nice and
early.
We were there for doors openingrather than...
Rebecca (01:31):
Actually
Jayson (01:32):
queuing, which like...
Yeah, we're normally squeezingin at the last minute.
But we got in nice and early.
Got to soak up a bit of theatmosphere beforehand, which was
really nice.
They always have like their...
their hell banner out at theentrance of Labelle.
(01:53):
It
Rebecca (01:54):
really sets the scene
before you even get in there.
Jayson (01:57):
Yeah, and they've got
staff greeting you on the door,
taking your you get your weestamp.
Rebecca (02:03):
Yeah, Hal was like
totally dressed like to the
nines as per.
Jayson (02:07):
Aye.
Once we headed inside we had awee stop at the merch table
where we spotted some of our owngoodies for sale.
Yeah.
As well as goodies by plenty ofother talented makers.
Rebecca (02:24):
It's nice how much
there is a community around Hell
that they are so supportive ofother people in the area and
beyond at this point as well.
That everybody's just reallysupportive of each other and
kind of helping each other outand stuff.
Jayson (02:38):
It's nice to see that
they kind of take into
consideration who their audienceis and try to cater for that
audience.
Rebecca (02:47):
Yeah, so we dived by
the Merrstall picked up our new
hell t-shirts that wepre-ordered this time because
fancy
Jayson (02:56):
we kind of be risking
missing out
Rebecca (02:58):
nah definitely not
definitely not i think you've
got like one each at
Jayson (03:01):
this point yeah i always
go for the the kind of tank top
tank top sleeveless yeahthey're uh really good quality
t-shirts
Rebecca (03:13):
i that is one thing
i'll say for them is like they
make sure that they're somethingthey would wear themselves.
Yeah.
So they're like really cooldesigns, but also like decent
quality material and actuallycomfortable.
Yeah.
So there's a bunch of otherHell merch there as well, but a
lot of which we've picked up onprevious visits because I think
(03:33):
we've got just about one ofeverything at this point.
Pride Day Place, the calendaron the wall.
Gotta have it.
They also have like a raffle onas well, so we've picked up
some raffle tickets for thatbecause some of the prizes...
Jayson (03:47):
Some of the prizes were
really, really good.
Rebecca (03:51):
Yeah, we'll get into
that a wee bit later on, but
hats off to them.
They know and work with somecool-ass people.
Us included.
Jayson (04:03):
So once we'd stopped by
the merch table, we headed over
to the bar, grabbed ourselvessomething to drink, got
ourselves some pretty primeseats this time.
Yeah.
Rebecca (04:15):
What, four rows for
Jayson (04:15):
the front?
Yeah, yeah.
Rebecca (04:17):
Which...
Yeah, for us who's usually upin the back quarter, being as
late as we usually are.
Not late for the show, justlate for doors and stuff.
Because there's quite a bigwindow.
I don't know, I think usuallywe're coming after work and
things like that.
Whereas we've had a wee bitmore time to get organised and
get there a bit earlier at themoment.
(04:38):
Aye,
Jayson (04:41):
so we've got some lovely
seats right down near the
front.
just settled in to soak up someatmosphere, have a chat.
Rebecca (04:52):
Check out what
everybody was wearing.
Jayson (04:54):
Yeah, there were some
really cool outfits on
Rebecca (04:58):
the go.
Hell always encourage people todress up and wear what they
want and because there is thatfetish aspect to their shows and
the way that there just is abit of crossover with that side
of things as well and the peoplethat come along, there's some
kick-ass outfits there.
There's a real good mixture ofgoth and punk and more fetish
(05:23):
style fashions and people werein a mixture of all three as
well.
Jayson (05:28):
There's always a really
good turnout from the kink
community.
It's nice to see the peoplebeing represented.
Rebecca (05:35):
Definitely see a lot of
familiar faces around about.
There was even two people thatwe've briefly met or at least
seen about a lot that werewearing like full nun and priest
outfits like that was sick thatwas something special like
shout out to them definitely itwas cool they've always got like
a banging playlist on in thebackground as well while
(05:57):
everybody's kind of filtering inwhich kind of sets the tone as
well and having everything litup and stuff already it
Jayson (06:03):
helps to create quite a
nice atmosphere as you go in
they've got like some of theirpromo videos projected up onto
one of the walls just a reallycool place to be the energy's
you know really upbeat and Alittle bit spooky, a little bit
sexy, a little bit sacrilegious,on this occasion at least.
Rebecca (06:24):
I feel like it's always
a bit sacrilegious, let's be
honest.
You can't have a name like hellwithout having some kind of
spiciness mixed in there.
Jayson (06:34):
Yeah.
Rebecca (06:36):
But yeah, we'll link
the promo video in the
description, because it'sfucking awesome.
Like, even if, obviously...
You've either been to the showor you haven't, but it's still
definitely worth checking out.
We put a lot of time and effortinto their promo videos, and
they're all up on YouTube.
With the voice of AbaddonalHope telling us that hell is
imminent, we took our sheets andgot ready for the show to
(06:59):
begin.
And with that, we had theopening ritual.
The curtains opened, SeleniaCastle, followed by several of
the Hell members and some of thestage crew, Walked onto the
stage and started the show witha human sacrifice.
Jayson (07:18):
Pretty intense way to
start a show.
Yeah,
Rebecca (07:20):
I feel like it set the
tone.
It set the tone.
There's a really cool pictureof Selenia Castle actually
licking the knife that was takenby Pictures and Blood on their
Instagram.
Jayson (07:35):
That was shortly
followed by a performance by
Abaddon All Hope, our lovelyhost, where she...
stripped blindfolded with bloodraining down from her headpiece
it was phenomenal
Rebecca (07:51):
that headpiece was
stunning it was like a crown of
flowers um with like wrappedbandages like over her eyes and
down her body like i do not knowhow that girl managed that
genuinely it was flawless
Jayson (08:06):
yeah and then straight
into hosting
Rebecca (08:08):
yeah Not even time to
catch her breath.
Just like, bam.
And she's so funny.
I love her so much.
I don't know, she's justtotally neuro-spicy and just
comes up and just speaks aboutour special interests, of which
are very varied and very fuckinginteresting.
Jayson (08:26):
Yeah, she always manages
to have a really good portion
of the crowd on side withwhatever subject she chooses to
go off on one about.
That's...
always always waiting withbated breath to see what we're
gonna get yeah where she's gonna
Rebecca (08:43):
go where she's gonna go
with like there's definitely a
lot of like crowd engagementwell yeah yeah and she just
rolls with it like it's greatit's great to see the next one
was one of my favorites so wehad white hot blonde as the
devil and Hal in his usual roleas the kind of victim I guess I
(09:07):
don't even know if you couldcall it that in this instance so
my god so he's portraying akind of Faustian deal where she
was going to take his soul butlike he was getting one last
wild night so between them thekind of performance included
like drinking loads of booze andlike pouring it over each other
(09:27):
and like smoking cigarettes butlike and just like the sexiest
way possible it was excellent itwas so hot and then like they
had like a little salt shakerthat was clearly supposed to be
like coke or like some otherdrug or some description that
was getting like put on whitehot blondes like ass and then he
(09:50):
was like snorting it off andstuff like it was so cool ended
with it getting all kind of hotand heavy and Then her reaching
into his chest and pulling out alight that was representing his
soul and eating it.
It was so cool.
It was like, oh.
Jayson (10:07):
It was just full-scale
debauchery from the off.
Rebecca (10:12):
I love that there was a
writing desk and stuff as well.
The props are awesome.
The set design, the way theyset the stage and set the scene
and everything.
each one's so different andfeels so unique in and of itself
just because of all thesetouches that they put through it
Jayson (10:30):
was quite a sort of
corporate devil sort of
interpretation which was prettygood that suit was
Rebecca (10:37):
oh yeah definitely a
way I would want to go
Jayson (10:42):
oh yeah it looked like
great fun Hal always looks like
he's having a great time yeah
Rebecca (10:46):
definitely fair yeah
Jayson (10:53):
So Sweaty Jessie and
Rose Trilley followed on in
keeping with the theme, bringingus lust.
They brought us a demon duopole performance.
Rebecca (11:05):
The only time I've ever
seen two people doing a pole
performance together was when wewent to Kinks and it was a
total mind-blown moment.
But seeing that at Hell, withthe Hell theming and the little
fucking demon horns and thejust...
Do you know, Pole is sexy.
Pole has sexual overtones, butthis was like a whole other
(11:26):
fucking level.
It was great.
It was excellent.
Jayson (11:30):
The synchronised moments
in it were particularly
mesmerising.
Yeah,
Rebecca (11:34):
it was like, how the
fuck did they do that?
Like, I don't know.
Watching them, it was like theywere one person.
They did so well.
It was so hard not to getsucked into the story.
Like, they did...
such a good job of likepersonifying lust.
Jayson (11:50):
I think there was quite
a few people in the audience
getting a wee bit hot under the
Rebecca (11:56):
collar.
Speaking of collars, up next wehad an amazing guest performer
from Ireland who came over toperform with the Hill Crew
called Ethereal Grave.
She was wearing a the nun habitand not an awful lot else and
(12:20):
was doing a kind of sexy poleperformance but with so much
blood and gore and doing thesign of the cross and leaving
blood smeared on her foreheadand it was so fucking cool way
to make a fucking scene icon
Jayson (12:39):
Yeah, it was hot, it was
transgressive, it was messy.
Rebecca (12:43):
It was sacrilegious as
fuck.
It was great.
People would have been offendedif it wasn't the usual people
that come along to Hell's Showthat were just absolutely
enthralled by it.
Jayson (12:56):
Yeah.
Heating things up, we hadSelenia Castle coming in in the
custom Hell dress with the Hellrune on the front and Massive,
elaborate candle collar.
I
Rebecca (13:13):
don't even know how to
describe that.
It was almost like shoulderpads in a way, but went all the
way around the back of her head, like a collar, like in a
semicircle, just covered incandles.
It was just so atmospheric.
Jayson (13:32):
Yeah.
Because all the candles werelit, it was...
Rebecca (13:37):
It just had this kind
of ethereal quality to it that
was in quite, like, directcontrast with, like, the makeup
and the gore and, like, becauseshe had this big, like, zip.
Like, it looked like her facewas, like, unzipped at the
bottom.
And then she had melon andwhite hot blonde, like, walking
(13:57):
in behind her, also dressed asnuns.
Love how many nuns were thereon the night, like.
Jayson (14:03):
Selenia gave us some
excellent spear dancing.
followed that up with pouringwax all over herself
Rebecca (14:12):
yeah all down her like
her face and her throat and like
in her mouth and oh it wasamazing
Jayson (14:18):
yeah she had one black
candle and one red candle and
was doing one on either side itwas all very in keeping with the
hell colours
Rebecca (14:28):
and
Jayson (14:29):
theming it was
Rebecca (14:31):
spectacular
Jayson (14:32):
spectacular
Rebecca (14:32):
yeah yeah she does like
her wax play blood ruse dragon
was next to take to the stagewith what could only be her
interpretation of gluttony so itstarted off i feel like her
performances are always so likebeautiful and ethereal and kind
of sensual she does a lot ofkind of quite like floaty like
(14:57):
sensual kind of dancing and it'salways stunning always
beautiful to watch like you cantell she is a dancer like that's
like clearly her passion itstarted off quite graceful and
kind of got more chaotic as timewent on and then the cake came
out and i was just not expectingwhere that performance was
(15:17):
going at all
Jayson (15:19):
the cake kind of came
out left field a bit
Rebecca (15:21):
totally through me i
was like what's happening like
where is this going and they hadlike a bit like a riser on the
stage for like a bit that waskind of up a bit higher just so
that people could see and up shegot and up the cake went and i
was like what the fuck's goingon what are we gonna see here i
thought cake was getting thrownat the audience to be totally
(15:41):
honest because there is a splashthrown at hell if you sit in
the first couple of rows sowe're always kind of like
prepared for seeing somethinggetting thrown at random
audience members
Jayson (15:52):
at some point in the
night.
Usually water guts or jellyor...
Rebecca (15:56):
Yeah.
Something.
But no.
Under it went and we got to seesome cake sitting which I've
never seen in person before.
No,
Jayson (16:09):
that was a first for me
as well.
Rebecca (16:11):
Yeah.
And her kind of like stickingher hands like full on just like
into the middle of the cake andlike eating it in such like a
ravenous kind of like primalkind of way and like rubbing it
all over our body and oh
Jayson (16:25):
yeah i think i get it
now i get it now yeah i
Rebecca (16:28):
get
Jayson (16:30):
it now it took seeing it
but yeah
Rebecca (16:33):
yeah yeah would you
believe this was only the first
half of hell they put on a showand a half so they have a little
interval in the middle andwhere you can go and get another
drink go to the toilet, getsome air, do what you do at
intervals.
And then once you come backfrom that, they do the raffle.
(16:55):
So there were so many reallycool raffle prizes this time
around.
They always have cool raffleprizes, but I was blown away
with what they had on.
We bought more raffle ticketsthan we normally do because we
were like, we fucking need this.
I just wanted all of it.
To be totally honest, I wouldhave been quite happy if we were
(17:17):
taking the lot
Jayson (17:19):
home.
There were some really, reallygood prizes this time around.
I kept working with some coollocal artists and creators.
Rebecca (17:32):
They had two
beautifully handmade leather
collars.
Jayson (17:39):
Spicy friendship
bracelets they were
Rebecca (17:41):
called.
Oh yeah, sorry, sorry.
I mean, it's fine on thepodcast.
We're not going to get censoredhere.
Is
Jayson (17:49):
that the same thing?
Have I been being reallyautistic and thinking spicy
friendship bracelets meantsomething different?
Yes.
Okay.
Rebecca (17:57):
That's a joke from a
creator that we
Jayson (18:01):
follow each other.
Pierre?
Yeah, Mr.
Pierre.
Rebecca (18:05):
It's just like a TikTok
meme, I think, basically at
this point.
Jayson (18:09):
Cool.
I did not realise thatthat's...
I thought it was like...
Rebecca (18:12):
Unless I've gotten it
totally wrong.
I thought
Jayson (18:15):
it was like handcuffs.
Rebecca (18:17):
They had them as well.
So they had a set of cuffs andthen they also had two collars
as well, all from the sameperson.
So the cuffs and collars werefrom Avernus Designs.
They also had a £70 tattoovoucher from the Alchemist Cave
Tattoo and Body Art Studio.
(18:37):
These were some big-ass prizes.
I'm not going to go throughthem all, but the one that I
really wanted that I'm low-keythe most gutted about was the
Hell Coven of Sins poster thathad signatures from
Jayson (18:51):
all the crew.
Yes, all the cast and crew.
That was the one I reallywanted.
Pride of place in the house.
Next to the
Rebecca (18:59):
calendar.
But we didn't win.
We didn't win anything.
Jayson (19:05):
Yeah, that was a bit
gutting.
Rebecca (19:06):
Yeah.
There's always next
Jayson (19:07):
time.
Yeah, just need to try againnext time.
Rebecca (19:11):
We've not missed one
yet, so.
That's been over a year we'vebeen going, hasn't it?
Jayson (19:14):
Yeah.
Rebecca (19:15):
Yeah.
Jayson (19:17):
Trying to get any
friends or family to go along
that are willing for that typeof entertainment.
Just deal with the awkwardness.
Rebecca (19:27):
Not with friends, I
meant more family, but yeah.
Yeah.
So with that, we were into thesecond part of the night.
And the very first act washands down my favourite one from
the full night.
It was something...
I don't even have words,really.
Jayson (19:45):
It was certainly pretty
outrageous.
Yeah.
Rebecca (19:48):
Outrageous is a word.
Melon appeared on the stage.
There was a pole sitting in thecentre, so we knew we were
getting some pole dancing.
I'm not entirely sure who itwas that followed because on
their head was a massive goathead.
I don't even want to call it amask.
It was like a mascot size head.
Jayson (20:10):
The goat mask or head
was fantastic.
It was so cool.
you absolutely could not faultany of the props or costume at
all when it comes to hell.
They're absolutely on formevery time.
Rebecca (20:30):
Yeah, this thing had
presence.
It takes a lot to shock me.
It takes a lot.
The places we go, the things wesee, the people we meet and the
shit that we get up to, ittakes a lot these days for me to
be speechless.
I was speechless.
Yeah.
What followed was, like, thekinkiest fucking simulated sex
(20:56):
that I have ever seen.
The standout moment was, like,Melon on the pole, like, holding
herself up with the goat headbetween her legs.
Like, goat fucking...
Not even goat, like, devil.
But, like, goat devil.
Cunnilingus, like, bam.
On the stage in front of acrowd of people It was Yeah
(21:21):
There are no words
Jayson (21:24):
Aye The crowd was
Visibly stunned At this The
intensity was palpable
Rebecca (21:33):
Yep If the music wasn't
on You would have been able to
hear a pin drop It was totalNobody knew What to do with it
at the time Like,
Jayson (21:44):
in a good way, though.
And then after a few seconds, everybody went wild.
Like, it was like, what are weseeing?
Oh, wow.
Oh, wow.
Like, yeah.
Then we had our next specialguest, and the teacher of many
of the members of the Hill Crew, from the Academy of Burlesque
(22:04):
and Cabaret, Gypsy, who broughtus Power of the Pussy.
So this was an aerial hookperformance, which came onto the
stage...
dressed in like a black leathertrench coat
Rebecca (22:17):
real mob mob boss style
like she had like the what are
they hats called
Jayson (22:24):
fedora
Rebecca (22:25):
like a fedora hat like
black like it was real like
proper like showgirl like oldschool burlesque style yeah you
know with the peak like the redleather chaps underneath like
poking through from the coat
Jayson (22:40):
the crowd was going
absolutely wild
Rebecca (22:43):
It amazes me what some
of these performers are able to
do.
Like, it's one of them whereyou watch it and you're just
like, I don't even think I couldget up on that.
Never mind me doing, like, splits and fucking flips and
shit.
Aye,
Jayson (22:57):
the sheer athleticism on
show is just incredible.
Rebecca (23:02):
In true Power of the
Pussy style, we had Hal back on
the stage with, like, a moneygun shooting notes, like, all
over her while she was, like, flipping about and stuff.
It was sick.
It did have mafia boss energy.
Yeah, definitely.
So following on from her washer host, which meant she was
(23:22):
doing the kind of intro bit inbetween her performance and
Abaddon's.
So she kind of introducedherself, explained a bit about
who she was, and spoke aboutsome of the other things that
she's been up to, includingbeing the host at Torture Garden
in Edinburgh.
So we have actually seen herperform...
before when we went a coupleyears ago and she was talking
(23:45):
about her usual act and my godwas the crowd disappointed that
that was not what was on show atHell Cabaret that night
Jayson (23:56):
yeah so her usual act
involves pulling things from her
vagina when we saw her atTorture Garden that just so
happened to be Fairy Lights
Rebecca (24:06):
yeah because it was a
November one so it was like It
wasn't quite Christmas themed, but it was very festive.
Jayson (24:14):
Ah, you don't see
something like that every day.
Rebecca (24:16):
No, no, definitely not.
That stuck with me.
That was like back in, yeah.
Jayson (24:21):
Certainly a memorable
performance.
Rebecca (24:23):
Definitely, definitely.
But she definitely, she had apull in the crowd.
You know, she was socharismatic.
Like, you can see where Hellhave picked up, like, some of
the way that they perform andstuff from her.
And like, Just her kind ofenergy in her, like the way that
she puts herself across.
So she introduced her next act.
Jayson (24:44):
Which was a bad and all
hope.
Rebecca (24:47):
With a stunning Bene
Gesserit look.
For any Dune fans out there, you'll know what this is.
So the Bene Gesserit, for thosethat don't know, are quite kind
of...
They're like an ancient andpowerful sisterhood that...
kind of have a bit of religiousbit of political kind of bit of
(25:09):
like a like I don't want tocall them social influencers
that sounds like terrible butlike they kind of use the powers
that they've got to kind oflike advise and guide and
influence what's going on in thekind of political landscape but
at the essence are a bit oflike a kind of religious
organisation so she came outwith like a thurible or like an
(25:31):
incense holder but like on theend of a chain and was like
dancing and like stripping andlike kind of like twisting and
twirling this thing about it wasoh it was so cool it had real
like it's no morning starswhat's the one that's on i
always get this mix up morningstars when it's like on the
stick like a flail it had likereal flail vibes which like i
(25:55):
fucking love a flail not enoughto remember what they're called
obviously but yeah
Jayson (26:00):
all right that was there
was some really pretty
impressive uh incense spinningtricks going on there.
I
Rebecca (26:07):
love that there was
still a geeky reference
somewhere throughout the show.
They've done quite a few gamecharacters and comic characters
and different bits and piecesfor different nerdy universes
before and I love that theystill got one in there.
Jayson (26:27):
Yeah, it's always nice
to see and very much playing to
to their audience.
They know their audience sowell.
Talking of geeky, talking ofknowing their audience well, our
next performance was a cryptid.
(26:49):
So we had Rose Trulie with whatwas my favourite performance of
the night.
We had a Mothman romance.
The outfit was spectacular.
The wings, the way that Rosemoved with those wings on the
(27:10):
stage.
I loved the red sunglasses togive those red Mothman eyes.
The little doodly bops.
Yeah.
It was fantastic.
There was this sort of storygoing on So it was a pole
(27:31):
performance and at the top ofthe pole there was a lightbulb.
So we had this amazing Mothmanpole performance sort of like
reaching up towards thislightbulb.
It was hot, it was whimsical,it was a love story between
Mothman and the lightbulb.
(27:52):
Rosie's ability to kind of putacross that emotion and just
suck you right into this beingthis love story it was
absolutely enchanting
Rebecca (28:03):
yeah i love how each
individual performance like they
cover the theme but each are sounique but still so hell like
it's hard to quite put intowords like the way the ability
they have to be so unique ineach performance but still have
(28:24):
like an overarching kind of vibeabout the night
Jayson (28:28):
yeah and to pull off
like such a sexy and enchanting
performance with something aswild as like a cryptid in that
way but i think they knew it wasgoing to go down well because
in previous hell shows we've hadmothman chat from a bad and all
(28:49):
hope
Rebecca (28:50):
several hell shows i
think at this point cryptids
seem to be one that come up alot which is fair Like, they're
awesome.
Jayson (28:58):
Aye, big fan of
Encrypted.
Yeah.
Rebecca (29:02):
While Abaddon was kind
of vibing and emceeing, we got a
little hint at what the nextperformance was going to be
because there was a prop thatkind of had made its way past
the curtain.
And obviously the full audiencewere checking it out and going,
ooh, seeing what was kind ofcoming next because we had a
(29:23):
kind of so there was a kind ofy-shaped stick covered in
candles and wrapped red threadsand with like skulls and just
generally had quite like a kindof voodoo like vibe to it so we
kind of got a little hint aboutwhat was coming and then the
(29:46):
curtains opened and we had aface at the top of the pole with
these long flowing robes thatreached all the way down to the
floor kind of encasing whatlooked like a gigantic figure
red and black feather plume atthe top like dark dark eyes with
(30:07):
like the makeup like runningdown the face peering out of the
crowds and they had either armstretched out like as if they
were on a cross which That musttake some leg strength.
Jayson (30:23):
Yeah, I mean, initially
it was quite difficult to work
out how they were up that high.
I thought maybe they were onstilts or, you know, I totally
did not see what was comingnext.
Rebecca (30:34):
Of course, because we
couldn't see the pole behind
them.
I had just assumed at the time.
But yeah, like it really hadsuch like, it did look like they
were like really tall.
Mm hmm.
Or like floating up in the air.
Like it just was a perfect mixof the two of them where it
could be either.
Jayson (30:51):
It was very, very
theatrical.
Rebecca (30:54):
Yeah.
Again, presence.
Jayson (30:57):
Yeah.
Rebecca (30:57):
Yeah.
And then the music started.
And then they slid down thepole and started their
performance.
And oh wow.
That was like up there for meand one of my favourites of the
night as well.
Yeah.
The full performance was likehaunting.
Like it just...
It did have quite freaky vibes.
(31:18):
It was good.
It was well done.
Jayson (31:21):
Hell always tends to do
quite a good job of making you
Rebecca (31:27):
just that little bit
Jayson (31:29):
uncomfortable just in a
good way
Rebecca (31:34):
though.
Stick with the candles andstuff on.
There was multiple kind ofsurrounding the pole in quite a
kind of ritualistic fashion withwhat appeared to be a doll on
one side and then it gotinvolved in the performance and
when it was picked up it wasclearly like a voodoo doll and
(31:55):
it got attached to the pole andit got like stabbed a bunch of
times and it was very muchinvolved in the performance and
I quite liked how the kindystory went from like quite Like
the anger being turned towardsthe doll to the anger being
(32:18):
turned inwards.
Yeah.
And the kind of climax of itwas the knife being turned on
themselves.
And of course, lots of gore andblood because we all love it.
Jayson (32:30):
But again, it was
another like quite sort of like
a motive.
Rebecca (32:35):
Yeah.
It was quite poignant.
Yeah.
Jayson (32:38):
And with that, we were
at our final act.
The final act was...
Selenia Castle and White HotBlonde has a sort of good versus
evil deer combo.
Like an individuality, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Selenia Castle, kind of all inblack.
Rebecca (33:00):
Like dark, almost like
kind of more demon-y horns.
Jayson (33:02):
Yeah, and White Hot
Blonde in white and looking very
like...
Like full-eyed.
Rebecca (33:10):
Yeah, yeah.
Because you had the littledimpled makeup and the more
traditional antlers.
And
Jayson (33:21):
what a finale it was.
There was fire, there wasblood.
Rebecca (33:27):
There was the
corruption-y innocence.
There was a human sacrifice, ofcourse.
Because it wouldn't be hellwithout multiple human
sacrifices throughout the show.
Of
Jayson (33:38):
course, but they had...
antlers that were on fire andalways love a bit of fire.
It's my favourite.
Rebecca (33:48):
I'm disappointed if I
go a place and there's no fire.
Jayson (33:50):
But our sacrifice for
the final act was C3.
Rebecca (33:56):
Chef
Jayson (33:57):
C3.
Rebecca (33:58):
Yes, Chef.
Jayson (34:01):
We had Selenia Castle
and White Hot Blonde sort of
embracing each other and coveredin blood, pouring it all down
each other.
It was pretty hot.
It was pretty gory.
Rebecca (34:17):
Ticking all the boxes.
Yeah.
There was fire.
Jayson (34:23):
It was a pretty perfect
end to an incredible show.
Yeah.
We will be back next time.
Definitely.
Rebecca (34:33):
Wouldn't miss it.
Jayson (34:35):
Absolutely not.
It's a really, really goodnight out.
Rebecca (34:39):
There's not a lot more
you could ask for in a night,
really.
Nah,
Jayson (34:42):
nah.
It's sexy.
It's dangerous.
A bit scary.
You've got blood and guts andgore and fire and cryptids.
Rebecca (34:52):
And some fucking
amazingly talented people
getting to do what they love.
Keeping the show runningsmoothly in between all the acts
was our fabulous host, AbaddonAllhope.
I am so envious of her abilityto just riff.
Jayson (35:10):
I've never seen anybody
that can just riff like that and
keep everybody so engaged
Rebecca (35:17):
all the way through.
The topics she is able tocover, the spacey time, is
insane.
And the topic she has knowledgeof that she can just pull out
her arse at the drop of her hatas well.
It's
Jayson (35:32):
astonishing.
Some of the things that she'sjust able to cover so many
people's niche interests andhave what appears to be a very
deep knowledge of so manydifferent things all at once and
be able to remember and callthem a mind.
(35:54):
At will
Rebecca (35:58):
That is a
Jayson (35:58):
skill Some of the things
that Came up as topics were
like Foodstuffs as lubricantThings like mayonnaise And hot
sauce
Rebecca (36:15):
That was a crowd
Someone shouted Tabasco I did
not need that image in my headLike
Jayson (36:25):
to average bare penis
length.
It was
Rebecca (36:29):
all relevant at the
time.
Jayson (36:31):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's all kind of naturalprogression from one thing into
the other.
At no point it's like a hardstop and, oh right, now we're
going to speak about thisentirely different thing.
It's just constant flow.
Yeah.
Even learned about RussianWinnie the Pooh.
Rebecca (36:50):
Which we are still yet
to look up because I'm curious
about this.
I need more Russian Winnie thePooh knowledge.
Jayson (36:57):
I think after we wrap up
here we'll maybe give that a
check.
That sounds like a
Rebecca (37:02):
shout.
They just keep the energy goingfrom one act to the next.
They just keep it up there andkeep it moving forward.
Jayson (37:15):
It makes the transitions
between the different acts so
seamless.
You're never sat going, oh, Ifeel like I'm waiting for the
next act to start.
It's just pure entertainmentall the way through.
Hell
Rebecca (37:30):
Cabaret just does such
a good job of touching on so
many different...
groups of people and can bebringing them all together and
them all enjoying every fuckingmoment of it
Jayson (37:43):
yeah and do you know
there's so many so many people
in the audience that you seetime after time
Rebecca (37:49):
yeah they have a loyal
following for a fucking reason
Jayson (37:53):
and tickets sell out
fast
Rebecca (37:55):
yeah like every single
show has sold out which like
yeah there's a fucking reasonfor
Jayson (38:03):
that aye they've
certainly got a winning
combination
Rebecca (38:06):
yeah
Jayson (38:07):
They've just got such a
unique mix of queer, kinky,
artistic chaos.
It's hard not to just feelso...
Rebecca (38:17):
At home there.
Jayson (38:18):
At home and just so
engaged all night.
Rebecca (38:22):
And they're all fucking
lovely as well.
Jayson (38:24):
Yeah, yeah.
We got the chance to catch upwith a few of the members of
Hell at the after partyafterwards.
Yeah.
Which usually there's a clubnight on after so you kind of
need to, they need to get turnedaround pretty quick but there
was no club night on after thisone so we all got to hang about
for a bit which was really niceto get a wee chance to have a
(38:46):
chat with some of the performersand some of the backstage crew.
Rebecca (38:51):
Just kind of catch up
with everybody really.
Jayson (38:53):
Yeah.
Rebecca (38:54):
And it's not long until
we get to see them again.
Jayson (38:58):
very soon
Rebecca (38:59):
in fact by the time
this recording's coming out
it'll be tomorrow because we'vegot them coming along and having
a stall we've got a few of thehill guys actually performing at
Uncensored Market we've gotBlood Rouge Dragon and Sweaty
Jessie are both going to behaving performances during the
(39:21):
day
Jayson (39:23):
which you will not want
to miss that's Yeah, I'm so
excited.
It's going
Rebecca (39:28):
to be pretty good.
I'm going to be so distractedwhile that's on.
Hosting duties can wait.
Jayson (39:34):
I mean, at the last
Uncensored Market, while we had
some hell performances,everything stopped.
Everybody, you know, mid-salesstopped to watch breathtaking
performances by Selenia Castleand White Hot Blonde.
Yeah.
They seem to go down anabsolute treat.
Rebecca (39:57):
Selenia is also going
to be putting on an advanced wax
play workshop.
She's taking what she does onthe stage and showing people the
best and safest way to do it.
I think that is almost soldout.
No idea what it's going to beby the time this is coming out,
but we currently have one ticketleft to that, so we shall see.
(40:20):
Hell have also got a brand newClub night on the 18th of July
called Dust and Desire.
This isn't just a party, it's adescent into a post-apocalyptic
cyberpunk underworld.
Think Mad Max Fury, BorderlandsChaos and Wasteland Grit, all
(40:42):
with a provocative kink twist.
Expect relentless industrial, dark electronic, techno and
metal soundscapes to pulsethrough your veins.
Sounds awesome.
Fucking amazing.
We have got our ticketsalready.
Jayson (40:56):
Yeah, really looking
forward to that.
Rebecca (40:59):
If anybody's coming
along and sees us, come say hi.
Jayson (41:02):
Yeah.
So they're going to be havingsome performances and go-go
dancing throughout the night.
Yeah.
And that's all going to be inLaBelle as well.
Yeah.
Rebecca (41:12):
And...
There's not going to be play, but there is a bit of a kink
vibe, so people are going to bedressed up and wearing kink gear
and all the lovely, deliciousthings.
Jayson (41:22):
Dressing up is highly
encouraged.
Rebecca (41:23):
Yeah, they come along
with that.
The next Hell Cabaret, they'reactually having two in one
month.
They've got two fringe dates.
The first on the 5th of August, which is going to be Hell
organising and producing it, butfilled with...
Special guests from all overthe world is the plan.
(41:45):
And then on the 21st, thetraditional Hell Cabaret show.
The theme not yet announced.
Ooh, exciting.
So keep your eyes out for thatone.
But if you can't wait untilthen, come and check them out on
Censored Market tomorrow.
Now onto our rating.
Jayson (42:06):
So yeah, like, for me,
this is a 10 out of 10.
Will go to every single show.
Don't want to miss a singleone.
Rebecca (42:17):
Still raging we missed
the first one.
Jayson (42:19):
They're all so totally
unique.
You don't see the same acttwice.
It's all new performances andcostumes and the work that goes
into this and the effort thatthey put in to put on a good
show is just phenomenal.
(42:41):
It's An absolute steal for theticket price.
Rebecca (42:46):
Same for me.
10 out of 10.
Would absolutely recommend.
And as you said, we won't bemissing another one.
Jayson (42:54):
Yeah.
Rebecca (42:55):
Well guys, this has
been our descent into hell.
Thank you so much forlistening.
Hope to see you guys next time.
