Quick Recap at the start: Ever find yourself on the receiving end of a surprise firing because of a prank that didn't quite land? Picture this: Mehoff, Jack Mehoff, at your service—well, until the ill-fated laughter of a few grandkids led to my immediate exit from a major mobile company. Join me as I relive this bizarre moment from my career, reflecting on the days when toxic work environments were simply the norm, and humor was my only armor. It's a tale of absurdity and workplace culture that might just make you chuckle and shake your head in disbelief.

But that's not all—let's switch gears and head to the stands of a frosty Mariners game with BJ's crew from KZOK. From mingling with the likes of Sarah and Waldo to missing out on an electric guitar by a hair's breadth, it's a whirlwind of promos, raffles, and windy stadium seats. With my trusty pup K-9 by my side and a community of lively listeners, the energy never dips. Engage with us on social media, hop into our Discord server, and enjoy a blend of personal misadventures, community tales, and a splash of whimsical nostalgia.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Scotty Don't X Show.
I still still have nothing ofsubstance to say.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
A quick catch up if you skipped the last episode.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
This affected me personally very hard.
This affected me worse thansome of my firings.
So I worked as an outsourcepartner for one of the major
mobile companies.
This was before there was adefinition internet Karen and
she called and she was screamingand yelling.
And the thing is, her argumentwas illogical.

(00:39):
She basically wanted free moneyfor nothing, or rather to cover
up her error for overspending.
I laid out the logical thing.
She's like who are you, what'syour name?
And I go Mehoff, jack Mehoff.
And so she repeats it JackMehoff.
And then five of her grandkidsjust start laughing.
I was.
A couple hours later, one ofthe big bosses says yeah, you're

(01:02):
no longer with the organization.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Anyway.
So that was a surprise style, firing for me kind of.
I mean you don't get to sayMehoff, jack, mehoff, james Bond
style to customers typically.
But like I said, it was aproblematic I'll throw the word

(01:25):
toxic on it, but that wasn'treally used back then More of a
perpetual dumpster fire Surprisestyle and I don't know anything
.
But that might be what happenedwith BJ Listening to Mornings

(01:50):
on KZOK.
The next week was interesting.
They, as far as their game showSmarticus I don't think there
was Where's Sarah Beaver andtheir interaction with their
callers went way down For thehey call in and tell us about
your worst something or anotherthat happened on your best

(02:10):
something or another.
They took like one call.
I guess it might have somethingto do with their customer
service manager, formerly callscreener, waldo, being out or
working from home for the week.
Of course I didn.
I hear that get mentioned so Ithought, wait, bj and Waldo were

(02:31):
gone.
That's a little wacky tacky.
Then they were doing theirsocial media and then they
finished with and Waldo magiceverywhere, host host producer
and Waldo Got to meet Waldo andGibbons and Sarah at a few of
the events.
That was cool.
First event I got to meet Sarahand Waldo because Gibbons

(02:54):
wasn't part of the program wasat a spring Mariners game, which
was pretty cool, but oh my gosh, if you're not sitting in a sun
area you're in the shadow zonelike the 300, uh, what 1920
series.
You better bring a windbreakerLuckily I did, because the

(03:18):
windshield there nasty.
Funny thing is, I don't reallylike live baseball games.
I went just to meet BJ's newshow people and give them about
200 promo buttons which theywound up giving away to fans at
the Mariners game, as well asthe rest going to people who

(03:44):
went to their 50th anniversaryparty.
That was held casino had somemusic.
They also were giving away anelectric guitar based on raffle
numbers and I was within ninenumbers of matching.
So first digit, second digit, third digit, fourth digit, fifth

(04:04):
digit I was on, and then sixthdigit, yep, that was about nine
digits away from mine.
Kind of would have been cool, but considering I had owned a
guitar for 20 years prior andrecently had given it away
Because I never learned how toplay this guitar I think it was
signed by someone would havejust wound up hanging as an art

(04:29):
piece.
