Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Vow mini-series on the WeddingWare,
with Officiating by Amanda.
We are doing a little six-week,just a little deep dive into
vows and some of the differentvow options you might want for
your wedding ceremony.

(00:20):
If you're new and joining us in, my name is Amanda.
I'm a wedding officiant and Istarted this podcast in January
to tell some stories, share someinsights, advice, just laugh
and preserve the memories.
And after our first 25 episodes, with some added in bonuses,
I'm taking a little midsummerhiatus and just going over some

(00:45):
vows.
This week we are adjusting moreto repeat after me vows.
So, as I said before, you couldtake any traditional vow or any
vow that even is customizedthat I wrote or that a couple
writes and you can, withinreason, customize the I wrote or

(01:08):
that a couple writes and youcan, within reason, turn it into
a repeat after me.
What that means is I say itfirst and the couple repeats it.
This is very common inchurch-based weddings.
It's comically, because this isthe thought that just came to
my head.
It is what we see in friendsthe I ross, hi ross, take the

(01:33):
emily, take the rachel, and thatcomedic moment.
So the thing with repeat afterme vows, both mindful for the
couple as well as mindful for meas an officiant, is clear
pronunciation, slow speech andbreak the words into very simple

(01:55):
couplets, which is why this isnot ideal for very long vows
like the one last week, with allthe joys and sorrows, happiness
, hardships, faithful promises, goals, dreams yeah, not ideal to
make that happen.
So I've got one for you today, once again.

(02:15):
These could easily be turnedinto I do's, they could easily
be printed out and given to acouple to read out, but these
are ones I've often had asrepeat after me's I blank choose
you blank to be my husband orwife in front of our family and

(02:40):
friends.
I promise to love and cherishyou throughout the good times
and the bad times.
I promise to remember this daywith love and roses.
I will love you always and youcan work with your officiant or,

(03:01):
as an officiant, you can workwith a couple to adjust some of
those words to make it betterfor you.
Promise to remember this daywith love and chocolates, with
candy and flowers, with hugs andkisses.
You know whatever makes sense.
But you don't want to get muchlonger than this.
It's three, no four sentencesthat can be broken down to.

(03:25):
When did I do 15 couplets or so, about four to five words in
each couplet, and just let it beso.
That's what I got for you today.
Keep thinking of vows, anduntil next time, this has been
Amanda.
