(00:04):
The wooden cricket. Good morning good evening good
whenever you're listening to this wooden cricket podcast
family welcome back. I'm your host Lawrence just a
regular Jesus following 80s babykid living in Winnipeg trying to
(00:28):
walk out this life with love, purpose and fire in my soul.
Today's episode is called spending your day with Jesus.
And if you've ever wondered how to walk your day from sun up to
sundown with God, well, this ones for you could offer some
tips and some verses here to tryand help put some perspective on
how to live your entire day withJesus.
(00:50):
So we find ourselves starting some chapter 5, verse 3, and it
says, listen to my voice in the morning, Lord, each morning I
bring my request to you and waitexpectantly.
There's something sacred about the morning.
It's quiet, it's raw, and it's new.
(01:13):
What if our first move wasn't reaching for our phones to
scroll away the day, but if it was reaching for Jesus?
When you wake up, take two minutes, even just 60 seconds,
and say something along the lines of Jesus.
I give this day to you, every part.
Please walk with me in that simple moment.
It's setting a spiritual rhythm, but bump, bump, bump, bump,
(01:35):
bump. A rhythm of trust, of
expectation, of invitation. It's not about saying perfect
prayers and perfect moments, butit's about giving him your very
first breath of the day, starting your day with Jesus and
hanging on to that. And, and it really opens up the
day and really again sets the tone for peace and comfort
(01:58):
throughout the day. Moving on to John chapter 15,
verses 4 through 5, Jesus is talking here and he says remain
in me and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce
fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful
(02:20):
unless you remain in me. Yes, I am the vine, you are the
branches. Those who remain in me, and I in
them will produce much fruit. For apart from me, you can do
nothing. This is the blueprint for daily
(02:41):
life. Remain in me.
Think about that. Not just on Sundays and not just
in the storm. Not when things are bad.
Not when when your world's crumbling down, the walls are
falling. Jesus is saying walk with me
through your coffee runs, through your job site, through
your hard conversations, throughyour grocery list, through your
parenting, through your scrolling, through your tired
(03:02):
eyes at 6:00 PM when you're sitting down with your family at
dinner, when you're driving to the grocery store.
Every minute of every day. Remain in Him means you don't
just visit Jesus. You live with him.
You live in Him. He lives in you.
He's a part of you. He's a part of your every
moment. Talk to him, you know it
(03:24):
whispers throughout the day. I'm tired.
Jesus, help me. Love this person.
Jesus, thank you for that moment.
Jesus, this is heavy. Help me walk through it.
Navigate for me. Jesus, guide me.
Jesus, help me. Whatever it is, it's less about
grand gestures and it's really just more about quiet presence
(03:46):
and trust. We find ourselves now in
Colossians chapter 3, verse 17. And whatever you do or say, do
it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks
through him to God the Father. Whatever you do, not just in
(04:07):
preaching and not just in praying and but whenever
anything folding the laundry, you represent Jesus.
Driving to work, represent Jesus.
Working that shift that feels unseen, represent Jesus.
Let your tone carry peace and let your eyes reflect mercy.
Let your hands serve when no one's clapping and let your
(04:30):
gratitude be loud. Even in the mess and chaos of
the world. You're not just doing things,
you're representing Jesus in everything you do.
And right, we said it 1000 timesalready.
Be that bright light in a dark place.
The next first, we're gonna takea look at it.
We'll go back to the beginning of the New Testament here.
(04:51):
And this is Matthew Chapter 11 versus 28 to 30.
Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest. Let me teach you, because I am
humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. You have a midday slump or heavy
(05:13):
thoughts, or you're burnt out. Jesus isn't far away, shouting
orders at you. He's close, gentle, and He's
rest giving. So just pause in the middle of
your day. Breathe Jesus in.
Turn to Him. You don't need to perform and
you don't need fake joy. Just come to Him.
Just say, Jesus, here's the weight I'm carrying today.
(05:35):
You know it and then listen. It doesn't speak in chaos, He
speaks in stillness. This isn't just self-care, this
is sole care. I mean, when you start to think
about it, right, Galatians chapter 5 verse 25 says since we
are living by the Spirit, let usfollow the spirits leading in
(05:59):
every part of our lives. Every part, not just the
Christian stuff, but every part of your life.
Let the Spirit lead you in how you respond to a text message,
how you spend your money, how you treat your coworkers, how
you entertain your thoughts. Living by the Spirit isn't about
(06:19):
being perfect, it's about being surrendered.
If we invite him into the ordinary.
If we invite Jesus into the ordinary, he transforms it into
holy ground. So to spend your day with Jesus
doesn't mean every moment feels heavenly.
(06:40):
It means every moment is offeredto him, from the bus stop to
bedtime, from tears to laughter, from meals to meetings.
It's not about religious routine.
It's about relationship. It's about awareness.
It's about abiding. So today, before you scroll,
(07:05):
pray, before you speak, pause, and before you panic, take some
time and breathe. And in all of these things,
invite Jesus in. Do all of these things with
Jesus. Because walking with Jesus isn't
just a Sunday thing, it's an everyday, daily thing.
Sentence kind of funny. It's an everyday, daily thing,
(07:28):
but thank you so much for spending this moment with me
today on the Wooden Cricket Podcast.
If this is stirred something this blessed you a little bit
today, hit that fall or share with a friend and remember you
are deeply loved, purposefully made, and never walking alone.
I'm going to catch you all tomorrow and until then,
continue that strong walk with Jesus.
(07:49):
Peace, friends.
