(00:04):
The Wooden Cricket. Good morning, friends, and
welcome back to this very special Saturday episode of the
Wooden Greek Podcast. I'm your host, Lawrence, and
today's message a little bit different.
It's a cry from the heart, a call for revival, A plea for the

(00:26):
healing of our world grandfatherhands of politicians or
policies, but the by the power of Jesus Christ, the Son of the
living God. Because let's face it, the world
is hurting and the truth is we need Jesus Christ now more than
ever. Just look around.
We're living in a time when loveis grown cold, truth is blurred,

(00:47):
families are fractured, mental health is in a crisis, kids are
afraid, adults are addicted to who knows what, and nations are
just their war all the time. And yet somehow we've convinced
ourselves that we can fix it on our own, of our own strength,

(01:08):
that human progress will save us.
And that's crazy. The Bible warns us about this
very moment. And Second Timothy, chapter 3.
You should know this Timothy, inthe last days there will be very
difficult times, for people willlove only themselves and their
money. They will be boastful and proud,

(01:31):
scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents and ungrateful.
They will consider nothing sacred.
They will be unloving and unforgiving.
They will slander others and have no self-control.
They will be cruel and hate whatis good.
They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with

(01:52):
pride and love, pleasure rather than God.
They will act religious, but they will reject the power that
could make them godly. Stay away from people like that.
Doesn't that sound like the world today?
People aren't just far from God.They're turning around and

(02:13):
they're running away from Him, which is bonkers.
We're drowning in noise and in self glorification, in business
and in digital distractions and in constant comparison and
spiritual confusion. It's crazy.
And what do we get from all of this striving except emptiness?
It's like we've built a world insand and now the storms are

(02:36):
coming. Bashing and slapping against the
walls in this house is gonna crumble down.
But here's the good news. And guess what?
It is good news. Jesus hasn't gone anywhere.
He's still calling us, still waiting for us, still ready to
forgive and to heal and to restore.

(02:59):
John chapter 8, verse 12. Jesus spoke to the people once
more and said, I am the light ofthe world.
If you follow me, you won't haveto walk in darkness because you
will have the light that leads to life.
We talk about this often, be a light in the dark place.
The world is dark because we've turned away from the light.

(03:22):
We've unplugged from the source. But when we return to Jesus, we
don't just get religion. We get life.
We get light, we get truth. We get peace that the world
cannot offer. And make no mistake, only Jesus
can change the heart of a person.

(03:43):
Only Jesus can truly heal traumaand end cycles of addiction.
Reconcile broken families and bring peace to a restless world.
There's no government that can legislate love.
There's no paycheck that can buypeace for you.
There is no therapy session though as helpful as they can be

(04:04):
to people that can replace the deep soul healing that comes
from the presence of God. And Second Chronicles Chapter 7
it says then if my people who are called by My name will
humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their
wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their

(04:26):
sins and restore their land. This verse isn't just a
spiritual idea, it is a lifelineand a road map for a world in
crisis. God is literally saying if you
turn to me, I will heal your land.
We are not waiting on revival. God's waiting on us to turn from

(04:50):
all this noise, to humble ourselves and to admit we've
tried it. Our own way, of our own
strength, of our own nonsense is.
And it hasn't worked. Revival doesn't begin with fire
from heaven. It begins with a whisper in the
heart, with one person, just oneperson.
And maybe it's you. Maybe it's you saying I'm done

(05:13):
trying to be my own God and all I need is Jesus.
Healing the world doesn't mean changing the whole planet in a
day. It means letting Jesus change
your heart today, because when one life changes, it spreads.

(05:35):
A healed heart becomes a healed family, and healed family
becomes a healed community, and it healed community can light up
the world the likes of which people haven't seen in a long
time. Matthew chapter 22 verses 37 to
39. Jesus replied.

(05:57):
You must love the Lord your God with all of your heart, all your
soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest
commandment. The second is equally important.
Love your neighbor as yourself. That's big.

(06:21):
When we truly love God, we reflect His love to others.
We stopped seeing people as a problem, and we start seeing
them as souls. Souls created by the Father.
We speak life and we walk in grace.
We forgive and we serve. And in doing so, we become

(06:42):
living proof that Jesus still saves.
Let me speak extremely plainly. The world is broken because
we've tried to build it without the cornerstone.
Saw 127 verse one. Unless the Lord builds a house,
the work of the builders is wasted.

(07:06):
We're wasting our energy if Jesus isn't at the centre.
So it's time now. It's time today, right now, to
return to the source of love, tolay our burdens at the feet of
Jesus, to say as a generation, as a people, we need you, Lord.

(07:26):
Not just in church on Sunday, but in our homes, in our
marriages, in our schools, in our prisons, in our politics, in
our art that we create and collect, in our cities, in our
conversations, in every moment of every day.
We need you, Lord. Romans chapter 8, verse 22 and

(07:49):
23. For we know that all creation
has been groaning, as in the pains of childbirth right up to
the present time, And we believers also grown.
Even though we have the Holy Spirit with us as a foretaste of
future glory, all of creation iscrying out for redemption, and

(08:12):
we carry the hope of the world inside of us, Jesus Christ
crucified and risen. So here's the challenge.
Let's not just talk about Jesus, let's actually step out and live
like He's real, because He is. Let's repent.

(08:33):
Let's pray, let's invite His Spirit to lead every single day.
Let's build our lives on the only foundation that will never
shake, and that is Jesus Christ alone.
Family, the world is hurting, but Jesus heals.
Let today be the day we start the conversation with your kids,

(08:58):
with your neighbors, with your spouse, with your friends, with
your enemies. Ask them what do you think the
world needs right now? And tell them what you know in
your heart. The world needs Jesus and so do
we. This has been the Wooden Cricket
podcast, all Bible, all Jesus and all good news.

(09:22):
I'm going to see you all again tomorrow.
I hope you have a blessed Saturday and a fantastic Sunday
going into the new week next week.
And until next time, everybody, this is Bill Lawrence, the
cricket podcast who's.
