The wooden cricket. What's up family, Happy Tuesday.
We made it another day, didn't we?
Another chance to grow in Jesus.Welcome back to the Wooden
Cricket Podcast, where every single day we gather not just to

(00:27):
learn about Jesus, but to get toknow him deeper.
We're continuing our powerful series called The Teachings of
Jesus straight from the source. And today Jesus pulls us closer.
Because the message isn't about changing what we do first, it's
about changing who we are inside.

(00:50):
Let's diving. We'll be reading from Matthew
chapter 5. Today we're starting in verse
17. Don't misunderstand why I have
come. I did not come to abolish the
Law of Moses or the writings of the prophets.
No, I came to accomplish their purpose.

(01:10):
I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not
even the smallest detail of God's law will disappear until
its purpose is achieved. So if you ignore the least
commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called
the least in the Kingdom of Heaven.

(01:31):
But anyone who obeys God's laws and teaches them will be called
great in the Kingdom of heaven. But I warn you, unless your
righteousness is better than therighteousness of the teachers of
religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom
of heaven. Jesus says it loud and clear.

(01:53):
The law still matters, not as a checklist, but as a road map
pointing straight to Him. Because he didn't come to tear
down the truth, He came to bringit to life.
Every prophecy, every command, every promise finds its yes and
Amen in Jesus. The Pharisees knew Scripture by

(02:19):
memory, but they didn't know theGod who wrote it.
Jesus doesn't want performers, He wants followers.
He doesn't want a good behavior if the heart is still full of
bitterness and pride. So he raises the bar from rules

(02:39):
to relationship, from external righteousness to internal
transformation. And in Ezekiel 36, verse 27 says
this. And I will give you a new heart,
and I will put a new spirit in you.
I will take out your Stony, stubborn heart and give you a

(03:02):
tender, responsive heart. That's where Jesus came to
accomplish not to make bad people look better, but to make
dead hearts beat again. Jesus says greatness isn't
measured by how loudly we talk about God, but by how deeply we

(03:24):
walk with God and by how we helpothers walk with him too.
With love, with encouragement, and with truth.
Because a changed heart should create a changed life.
Jesus wants all of you. Not just your Sunday morning
smile, but your Monday morning struggles and your Tuesday

(03:48):
doubts and your Wednesday weaknesses.
He wants the heart because that's where His Kingdom takes
root. Family, Jesus didn't come to
give us a list. He came to give us life.
So today, let him soften the hardened spots.

(04:10):
Let him clean out what doesn't belong.
Let him rewrite the story from the heart outward, because when
Jesus changes the heart, he changes everything.
Shakopee, salt of the earth, bringing bold flavour of Jesus
everywhere you go. Go be a bright light in a dark

(04:32):
place, not for your glory, but for His.
If you don't have a church family yet, you're always
welcome to join Calgary Temple online.
I'm sure of it while you're searching for your own local
church community to join. Jesus loves you all very
fiercely. I love you too.

(04:53):
And this has been the Wooden Cricket Podcast and I'm
Lawrence. And until next time, I'm Marie
Peace.

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero. Special thanks to series creator Dan McGinn, to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Adam Plumpton. Medal of Honor begins on May 28.
