(00:04):
The wooden cricket. Good morning family, it's your
boy Lawrence and welcome back tothe Wooden Cricket Podcast.
This is where we lift up Jesus. This is where his word sits
(00:26):
front and centre. And this is where we get
reminded daily that the King is not done with us.
Even when we don't feel the movement, he's still moving
silently, deeply and faithfully. And look, growing up in the 90s,
before smartphones, before everything was so instant.
(00:48):
We actually had to wait for things to load.
We had to wait for dial up Internet.
I know I sound old. We had to wait for Nintendo 60
fours to power up. We had to wait for Mario Kart
cups to finish. We had to wait for mix tapes to
finish recording off the radio. And sometimes the DJ would talk
over the last 6 seconds and you'd get mad.
Maybe that's personal, but look,we understand.
(01:13):
Or at least understood, waiting. And Jesus says the Kingdom grows
like that. Slow.
Unhurried but unstoppable. Turn with me, if you will, to
mark chapter 4, verses 26 to 29.Jesus says this.
(01:33):
Jesus also said the Kingdom of God is like a farmer who
scatters seed on the ground night and day, while he's asleep
or awake. The seed sprouts and grows, but
he does not understand how it happens.
The earth produces the crops on its own. 1st a leaf blade pushes
(01:54):
through, then the heads of wheatare formed and finally the grain
ripens and as soon as the grain is ready the farmer comes and
harvests it with a sickle for the harvest.
Time has come. Night and day, asleep or awake,
(02:15):
the seed grows. It grows when the farmer is
discouraged. It grows when the farmer isn't
paying attention. It grows when the farmer thinks
nothing is happening, and it grows when the farmer is
exhausted. The Kingdom grows invisibly
(02:36):
before it grows visibly. Does that make sense?
Roots first, then the blade in the head.
Ingrain in harvest, there is a rhythm to God's work, and it
doesn't bend to our impatience. And look, you might be in that
(02:59):
root phase right now where everything feels quiet, where
nobody sees your grind, where none of your prayers feel like
they've got an echo. But Kingdom it's happening under
the soil. It's happening when you can't,
where you can't see it. Jesus is literally working in
(03:22):
the places that you cannot monitor.
You can't pull up the seed and check on it every 48 hours.
You can't force it to sprout anyfaster, and you can't accelerate
the timeline. When God plants, God grows.
(03:44):
Period. End of story.
We're on this countdown toward Christmas, and I love how this
parable slides into that story. Because Jesus didn't just
arrive, He was prepared for. Prophecy was planted hundreds of
(04:05):
years ahead of time. Heritage was woven across
generations. The timing was precise.
The bloodline was exact. God grew that promise before
anyone could see the fruit of it.
Just like this seed. Just like you're calling.
(04:28):
Just like the quiet work happening in your heart right
now, today, even if you don't feel the sparks, you're not
behind. You're not failing.
You're not forgotten, you're just early in the growth cycle.
So today, as you walk through this next 24 hours, whatever is
(04:52):
on your plate, whatever heaviness you woke up with,
whatever questions you've been carrying, I want you to hold on
to one thing tightly. God is doing things that you'll
only understand in hindsight oneday.
God is doing things that you might not see, but is still
(05:16):
creating growth in you. One day that blade is going to
breakthrough. One day that shoot is going to
show, one day that harvest is going to come.
So you just stay faithful to theKing.
You stay faithful to Jesus and let him handle the time.
He doesn't plant anything that he doesn't intend to grow.
(05:42):
And I encourage you to join the good folks at Calvary Temple
online while you still looking for your local church family to
get connected with their live stream every Sunday service you
can come worship with us. Come here the word and let those
planted seeds get the sunlight they deserve and that they need.
(06:03):
So, family, listen. In a world of hurry, in a world
full of noise, full of instant result addiction, we are people
of the slow Kingdom. We are people of the quiet
miracle. We are people who trust the seed
(06:24):
planter, Jesus, even when we cannot track the roots.
She walked tall today. Trust Jesus today.
Keep sowing, keep believing the harvest is coming, add warrants,
(06:44):
and until tomorrow will be a bright light in a dark place.
We'll talk again. I'm Audie Peace.
