Chrys (00:02):
hello, welcome to another episode of the stays between us
.
This is chris and this is rissum we just talked about, the
house made for like an hour andnone of it recorded so like, and
it was a really good one too.

Riss (00:18):
It was a pretty good one, but honestly, I don't think we
have it in us to talk about itagain.
Maybe we do it next week orsomething and give you our
thoughts on part two and threeyeah, but just so everybody
knows if you're interested infollowing along in the book club
next week we are going to start, um, or I guess we're going to
start this week the seven wives, the seven husbands, seven

(00:44):
husbands of evelyn, seven hoes,or whatever it is, the roster of
evelyn hugo honestly that's abetter name um seven husbands of
evelyn hugo.
Uh, we're gonna start readingit.
We're gonna go about halfway, yeah, so tune in next time for

(01:05):
that.

Chrys (01:06):
And then, yeah, um, I really want to talk about the
whole.
Like, what is it called?
Blue point, like go into space, blue orbit, whatever it's
called, I don't know.
The celebrities go into spacethis week, lol.
Maybe that's all I had to say onthat learning the name of
whatever it is that went in hisface would have probably taken

(01:29):
longer than they were actuallyout there for dude, did you
watch the video where, like theyopen the door and then someone
comes to the door and they'relike, close it and like faces,
like face plants, and then grabsa freaking like crowbar or
whatever to go and open it?

Riss (01:48):
they make it like super theatrical thing.

Chrys (01:50):
This is, and that door opened like a, like a freaking,
like playground door it lookedlike one of those bar like open.
It was like open the whole timethe cowboy revolving door.
It was so like clumsy orwhatever.
Whatever the word is.

Riss (02:08):
Climsy.

Chrys (02:09):
Yeah.

Riss (02:09):
Whatever the word is yeah, no, it was bad.
It was bad.
This was like the pick me of,like any celebrity stunt ever.

Chrys (02:19):
I feel so connected to love now that I've gone to space
and, like now, I know empathyor whatever the hell she said,
girl what?

Riss (02:29):
the way she stepped out and kissed the ground like they
had been gone for months andshe's like I forgot what this
felt like.

Chrys (02:42):
Oh my gosh it's so funny I have not seen a single like.

Riss (02:47):
I have not seen a single person whether it's like videos,
news reports or even likecomments on things supporting
this at all.
Everybody's just like this ispathetic this is pathetic.
What is going on?

Chrys (03:05):
and like them, calling themselves astronauts is like
girl, what like, and she's likethis wasn't a ride, this was a
journey the whole thing isgiving like uh rachel from
friends exactly I commented thaton like five videos.
Went to the zoo yesterday.
Now I'm a koala bear, Becauseit's so that it's like it's

(03:31):
insane.
It's like I watched a season ofGrey's Anatomy.
I'm going to perform, yeah, I'mgoing to pump a heart with my
hand.

Riss (03:38):
Like what?
No, and you know theirastronaut suits.
The designer.

Chrys (03:43):
The slutty jumpsuit.

Riss (03:47):
Yeah, the designer was like looking like wanting to
make it look sexy.

Chrys (03:50):
Yeah.
And it's like is the zippergonna go down?

Riss (03:52):
yeah, it's like wow, the sexy astronauts.
Katie perry saying we're gonnaput the ass in astronauts oh, I
didn't even see that women instem.
We love them.

Chrys (04:07):
I feel like listen a few thoughts.
I mean out of touch.
These people don't even live inreality, right, they don't even
know.
It's so funny to me, like Idon't know.
They like you don't know.
Like love until you launch orwhatever she said, like just the
craziest she is ever.
They just spent millions ofdollars while like regular

(04:28):
people are working like 60 hourweeks and like barely able to
afford groceries.
But it's like, can't you justlike I know it's kind of obvious
if an like a freaking rocket orwhatever is launching, but like
do it in secret?
Like go look, I mean if I hadthe money to go into space, I
probably would, let's maybe bereal.
But like I wouldn't go.
Like go look, I mean if I hadthe money to go into space, I
probably would, let's maybe bereal.
But like I wouldn't go on theinternet and be like praise me,

(04:50):
minions, tonight we take themoon, whatever.

Riss (04:53):
Like no, I like like they just changed history, or like
they're calling it her storyright like the whole and it's
like you did nothing for womenanywhere, like if this had been
a group of like astronaut womenwho went to school, dedicated
their lives to this.
Sure, the only thing they didwas like put on a sexy little

(05:15):
costume spend like 28 milliondollars each and get in a
container and pray that itworked for 11 minutes.

Chrys (05:25):
Is that how long they were up there?
Yeah, no, it's like.
Is that even long enough foranything?
It's like you, mike, Imicrowaved a sandwich in the
time that you were in space.
Like it's so pathetic.
Like also, no, absolutely.
You would think that for a 2828million ticket you would get

(05:46):
like at least 30 minutes.

Riss (05:49):
No, for real.
It is like kind of a slap inthe face to like the women who
really do like work so hard onlike stuff like that happening.

Chrys (05:57):
Yeah.

Riss (05:57):
And they don't get any recognition.
But this is taking over Well, Iguess it's taking over the
internet, because it's a joke, but and it's also them winning
credit for like operating therocket and being like a national
.

Chrys (06:10):
It's like I get on a plane to fly from one point a to
point b.

Riss (06:15):
I'm not a pilot I'm not about to be like.
Please, like, shake my hand andtell me it's like I'm ready to.

Chrys (06:24):
Yeah, it's insane, it's just like so it's out of touch,
but it's also delusional on alevel.
That's just crazy.

Riss (06:32):
I know, and it's so funny that like just the contrast
between that and what happenednot so long ago, like very still
recent news, where, like thetwo astronauts were actually
stuck in space for like eight, nine months.
How long was it and that didn'teven get that much publicity or
attention yeah, and but like it, yeah, it's just hilarious how,

(06:53):
like I don't know, they'reacting like especially, I can't
get over the kissing the groundthing like she's been gone.

Chrys (07:02):
We're not taking space, we're making space.
Whatever it was it's like, please shut up.
Like write a cheesy song andrelease that but like don't come
out here oh my gosh and thewhole like singing um, they sang
I missed this katie perry sang, and what song did she sing In

(07:24):
the?
Rocket Wonderful World.
I mean, that's all she had timeto do was sing one song.
I don't think she even has thechorus.

Riss (07:34):
Before they landed, she's like oh yeah, okay, we're done.
Bye guys.

Chrys (07:44):
They released this.

Riss (07:45):
They recorded this.

Chrys (07:46):
Yeah, yeah, it was one of the women.

Riss (07:48):
I can't, honestly.
I'll be.
I'll be so for real.
I know it was katie perry and Iknow it was jeff besos wife, or
fiance, and then like gail, she's like a tv host.
Don't know any of the otherwomen, but one of the women were
was talking about how, like themost beautiful moment of when
they were all up there was whenkate perry just started singing.

(08:11):
What a wonderful world and shewas just in awe of just in awe
of this amazing experience thatthese us women were able to be
together for.
Like this whole thing, that wasjust like oh my gosh.
And then there's this wholething about how, like I think
I'm pretty sure katie perry saidshe's like I don't, I didn't

(08:33):
want the moment to be about me,so I didn't want to sing any of
my songs.

Chrys (08:38):
I really wanted but I was gonna sing.

Riss (08:41):
No one had a choice in that yeah, like nobody asked for
it, but I wanted to give themlike a beautiful song and I'm so
selfless.

Chrys (08:50):
It wasn't gonna be one of my songs.

Riss (08:51):
Yeah, it's just like this definitely like was never about
me.
That's why I didn't pick likeone of my songs meanwhile, you
have to say that like holdingher like playlist for like her
next tour.

Chrys (09:05):
It's like this I'm not singing about it, but uh, get
the hint I just imagine her likefinishing her song and they
have like 20 seconds left inspace and she's like please
subscribe to my youtubeinstagram, I'll be out on tour
here and here during those dates.

Riss (09:28):
Her plug before they come back.
I can like she's singing andjust there's just like one
person clapping like in therebecause everybody's like wait,
where did this come from?

Chrys (09:41):
oh, and they're like we should have discussed an
etiquette for this I can onlyimagine it's like 11 minutes
with women who don't know eachother.

Riss (09:51):
I yeah, they're just like up in space.

Chrys (09:54):
They're like we just want to like, admire and listen to
the universe for a second, andthen katie's like and all the
people, or whatever she's sayingthey don't know her well enough
to tell her to shut up, sothey're just wasting their
millions of dollars.
They're just like somebody.
Make this bitch shut up.

(10:15):
Everyone, put your hats on.

Riss (10:19):
Let's let her out I am actually so excited to be to see
the snl skits about this orlike any like.
I'm sure, like all the media, like tv shows will make that's
hilarious it's just so good.

Chrys (10:39):
Yeah, I just imagine.
I mean, how funny would it befor us get to be like they're up
there and, yeah, she startssinging, and they're like I'm
just gonna open the door for allof us.
I think.
I think we should end it righthere.

Riss (10:52):
Maybe that's why it was only 11 minutes, like okay, can
we go back down?

Chrys (10:56):
just arguing I'm gonna open the door, stop singing.
They're like, okay, we can wego back down.
They're just arguing I'm goingto open the door, stop singing.
They're like, okay, we have tocome back down.
We have to stop this bus, rearrange the seating.
That's hilarious.
Yeah, the whole thing waspathetic.
And then Gail, like the ladywho was like the host, she got
interviewed about it and she'slike have you been to space?

(11:16):
And people are like no, but itwas still pathetic, we can
comment on stuff you can barelysay you went to space for one
and two.
It's like you want to berelatable but then you're
telling people to shut up likedon't have an opinion about it.

Riss (11:32):
Applaud me or no?
It's like I had a layover inthe d airport.
Can I say I went to Texas?

Chrys (11:41):
Seriously.
I had a layover in Lima on myway from Brazil.
Now I'm Peruvian, it's mycountry.
Now I claimed it.
Crazy, so so funny.

Riss (11:55):
And the other thing that I was actually really curious to
talk to you about.
Have you heard of, like, thegood american family?

Chrys (12:02):
no, it's this movie that pretty sure wait based on like a
true story is this with um drgray from gray's anatomy?
Yes, okay, I've seencommercials for it, so I know
what it's about yeah.

Riss (12:18):
So it's like this girl, this family adopts this girl and
this girl is like goes likecrazy on them and then the mom's
like like suspicious, she'slike this little girl's like
getting her period and stuff andshe's like trying to kill them.
I don't know yeah all thesedetails and then the mom's like,

(12:40):
okay, there's no way theyadopted her from like russia, I
want to say, or some like yeahforeign country anyway.
And then the mom is like no waythis girl is a child the way she
claims to be, like she's notseven or whatever.
Yeah, uh, whatever age she hadsaid, um, and so they go through

(13:03):
like the courts to prove thatshe's like an adult and she, and
then they end up like managingto like prove, uh, get her age
changed and she become like sheactually is an adult but not in
the real version.

Chrys (13:20):
Right in the real version they found out that she was a
child.
Yeah, so.

Riss (13:24):
So that's the story that has been like how it has stood
for so long.
I actually remember hearingabout this like years ago yeah
um and like how freaking scaryis that you like adopt a kid and
then you find out it's likeactually an adult woman trying
to kill your whole family likethat's terrifying nuts but then

(13:46):
so then this whole debate likekind of generated, where it's
like because she came out andshe's like no, I was actually a
kid at that time yeah, and theyput her in an apartment or
something, living by herself orsomething right, and then they
fled the country yeah and andshe's like no, I like I was for,
like I was a kid and, um, she'slike an adult now, but she's
like I was a kid and they likejust couldn't, didn't want me

(14:09):
anymore, or whatever.
And then other people are like, okay, yeah, but you still try to
kill them.
Like what the heck?
Yeah, and there's like thiswhole thing of like was she a
kid or wasn't she a kid?
And it's like, yeah, this crazydebate.
But I know I was on like I hadread about this story so long

(14:30):
ago that like when I saw thislike that it had become a movie
and all this stuff I wasdefinitely on the family side of
like no, she, like there's somuch evidence that this girl was
actually an adult, yeah.
And then I saw one interviewwith the dad and you have to see
it, I like, I, I will, I.

(14:53):
Okay, I'm gonna react to it onTikTok Like I'll share it on our
page so that anybody listeningcan see it.
There there are no words.
This man is he's got somemarbles missing, like he's got
some wires, definitely.

(15:15):
Wait, what does that mean?
I can't even explain it.
I don't even know.
Like I don't even know, like Idon't even know what I saw, like
I'm still at like a loss forwords.
I'm like he so well, like kindof this is the thing it's, like
it's really it's sad, and so Ifeel like it needs like a little
.
Like it's a sad situation,regardless, right, whether she's

(15:36):
an adult or a child, like it's.
Everything is just kind ofmessed up.
This whole family is like youcan't really go back from that,
right.

Chrys (15:43):
Yeah.

Riss (15:44):
This whole situation is kind of messed up.
But he starts he's likedescribing how he found he
walked in one day and found hiswife, um, disciplining the kid,
and he was he just like kind ofwent like crazy, demonstrating

(16:07):
it, and he's like she wasbeating her up like, but not
just like she, she.
And then he like he gets off ofthe like interview and he's
like this is how it went.
And then he just gets up andgets on the floor and he starts
smacking the floor as hard as hecan and he's just going at it

(16:29):
for so, so long and then hishand he was.
It was scary to watch.
It sounds terrible, I know.
Like I was like oh my gosh.

Chrys (16:45):
So the family sucks.
He is.
He's describing a murder.

Riss (16:54):
Yeah, like first the fact the wife was doing that.

Chrys (16:57):
Second, the fact that he would like fully display it like
weird.

Riss (17:01):
A hundred percent in this interview, no, and his whole
like demeanor was just veryinteresting.

Chrys (17:09):
Did they pay someone to make a show to make him look
better?

Riss (17:13):
I don't know.
Probably I know very littleabout the situation I'm sure,
like I'm sure, it's told a lotmore from their point of view
than her point of view, so it'sprobably more.

Chrys (17:27):
She's disabled right, or she has something she does have
yeah, she's got like.

Riss (17:35):
I don't know if it's like a form of dwarfism or what it is
, but she does have like a okay, like um, yeah, whatever.

Chrys (17:43):
I don't know what you would call it, but yeah, no, so
I think that she would have moreof a platform because of that.
Like yeah, yeah, because if she, because I thought she like
couldn't walk and she had likesome physical thing.

Riss (18:02):
No, she can walk.

Chrys (18:04):
Oh, okay.

Riss (18:05):
She.
She does look like she could beolder than what she says, but
that's also up for debate.
A lot of people think she lookslike she's seven when she says
she's seven, so to me she lookslike she could be older, but

(18:26):
interesting anyway scary.

Chrys (18:29):
I know this is nothing to do with it, but it made me
think about it.
Did you ever watch the moviechangeling with, um, angelina
jolie?
No, it's like about a truestory in that happened in
california, I think, in like the30s I can't remember, don't
quote me on that, I can'tremember exactly what year, but,
um, it's not the same thing atall, but like just a little bit

(18:52):
of a scary parenting situation,I guess.
But this woman's son getskidnapped and she's trying to
get him back.
She's like going after thepolice trying to get him to
solve the case and like theyjust are not like doing enough
about it.
So she goes, tries to get likethe press involved and then they
finally get to a point afterlike months, say that they found

(19:13):
the kid and they go to returnit, return the kid to her, and
they do it like publicly.
So they take a picture in themoment and she's like this isn't
my kid and they're like yes, itis, this is your child, take
him home.
Like this is your kid him home.
Like this is your kid, likehe's been through trauma or
whatever, so he might look alittle bit different, and she's
like it's not him.
So she takes him home and likeshe has like um marks on the

(19:35):
wall of like his height orwhatever throughout the years,
and like this kid is like muchshorter.
And then she like goes to likegive him a bath and like this
kid is like circumcised and herkid wasn't, and she's like this
isn't my kid.
So they put her in a mentalinstitution, like they lock her
up because they say like you'recrazy, this happened, it's
insane people get into mentalinstitutions way too easily and

(19:59):
too hard to get out.
I think, especially back then, because they were like they
basically like she couldn'tleave, she like so stuck there
for a long time and then likewho?
Who put her in there?
Like the police.
They basically said that likeshe went insane after she lost
her kid and she wasn't acceptingthe fact that this was her kid,

(20:19):
that they returned to her.
It's a really interesting movie.
It's pretty crazy.
Um, it ends up being that, likethey end up finding out that her
kid got kidnapped by this likeserial killer that was out at
the time and he killed, likelittle kids between like those
like seven and nine I don't knowthat age and they find out that
the her kid had died in thatfarm and the kid that they

(20:41):
returned really wasn't him.
Um, I can't remember why, butlike someone convinced the kid
to lie and pretend to be herchild.
I don't know if there was areward or something.
I can't remember, but it's areally crazy story.
But can you imagine they'relike this is your child and
you're like, no, it's not, likethis is a different child, and
then the police locks you up.
It's like um yeah, what no?

Riss (21:04):
and?

Chrys (21:04):
it's crazy.

Riss (21:06):
Yeah.

Chrys (21:06):
You should watch it.
It's insane.

Riss (21:08):
That actually sounds very interesting to me, yeah.

Chrys (21:14):
Insane what else happened on TikTok this week.

Riss (21:26):
I honestly think that those are pretty big things.

Chrys (21:32):
That's enough.
Um, there's also that brettwhatever, I don't remember his
name.
Brett brett, whatever, I'mfollowing him, I don't remember
his name.
But the guy who got bamboozledby his not baby mama.
Um, you guys should check itout because it's crazy, yeah

(21:57):
it's that whole series withbrett fairly fairly.
Yeah, crazy, he gets approachedby this lady he's hooked up with
a few times.
And crazy and gets approachedby this lady he's hooked up with
a few times and she's likewanting to do IVF and be a mom
and asks him to be a sperm donor.
He stupidly says yes.
She kind of reaches out to hisfamily and, like, gets his

(22:21):
family involved and saying shedoesn't have anybody and she
needs a support system.
He ends up signing the birthcertificate and paying child
support for a while and it lookslike that was not his kid and
she she got a ton of money outof him and like yeah, he's
support and all that stuff yeah,I think he like said that it

(22:41):
totaled like 52 000 or somethingin the last few years.
I think this started in like2021 or something.

Riss (22:49):
And she managed to make like a ton of people like think
he was a horrible person becauseyeah.
Saying that he wasn't payingalimony and whatever.

Chrys (22:59):
Not alimony, child support, child support.
But he had screenshots theywent after like his girlfriend,
so crazy Saying lies about her.

Riss (23:15):
Saying that she lost custody of her kids, and none of
it was true.
And you know, it's like you seemovies with plots like that and
you like you just don't thinkit happens in real life.
But oh my gosh, how it does youknow like there's even crazier
stuff unwell.

Chrys (23:22):
Do you have to be like that poor?
Honestly, like the only personthat loses is that baby.
Yeah, that poor kid like gotattached to someone that ended
up not being the father.
She probably won't get to seehim again.
The mom is unwell.
I don't know what the rest ofthe situation looks like, but
yeah, it's sad, but anyway, thatwas depressing.

(23:46):
Sorry, but it's yeah, no it isit's, it's just.

Riss (23:52):
It's.
To me, it's just crazy to see, like, how people are so
manipulative and I, I alwayslike, I'm always like I'll watch
movies where, like there's amastermind behind something that
made all of this happen, andI'm just like my first thought
is, like that's like wouldn'thappen in real life, because,

(24:14):
like, who can really orchestratesomething like that?
yeah apparently I'm just stupidbecause a lot of people can't
happens.
All the time I feel like I'mjust like so incapable of it,
and not because, like that's agood thing.
Well, I'm not even saying thatin like a, like a virtuous way,
that I'm not capable ofsomething bad.

(24:35):
I'm just not capable of like.
It's like how do youorchestrating it?
I'm like, how do you keep trackof all that?
I know I like so many lies andlike so many people that you
have to like.
In order to make this happen, you need to make like 20 other
things happen yeah, and create apaper trail.

Chrys (24:53):
I guess honestly, I I see this type of stuff and I'm like
aren't you guys like tired, Idon't know?
I feel like it's like you go towork, you have like between
laundry and doing the dishes andlike planning a meal every
single day for the rest of yourlife, like isn't there enough

(25:13):
stuff going on?
Like why are we like to messagesomeone and harass someone and
then create a situation and thengo online and involve other
people and this madness?
It's like maybe get a part-timejob, you would have made more
money in three years.

Riss (25:28):
How much do you have to hate your nine to five to like
go to this extent?
You know.

Chrys (25:34):
I yeah, and like $52,000 is a lot of money, but to look
at it as something that she madeover the course of like four
years, a part-time job wouldhave gotten her more money.

Riss (25:46):
Was it only $52,000?

Chrys (25:48):
I thought that's what he said and it was like I was like,
oh, okay it might have beenmore, but even still, it's like,
yeah, I don't know.
It's like just it sounds likeless work to like start a side
hustle like maybe doordash, listen to something in the car,
some music, you could probablydo it with your kid in the car
with you, like you don't evenneed to pay for like daycare.

(26:08):
I don't know, I just it's just,it's entertaining.
But yeah, I just had a weird.
I missed it.

Riss (26:17):
I'm sad, I missed it I will anyway, yeah, no, seriously
, people have too much time ontheir hands.

Chrys (26:28):
And energy.
It's like I don't know.
I just I don't know.
I think I don't know.
I guess I just become moreantisocial because I'm like,
with everything that I havegoing on it's like I don't want
to talk to anybody.
How do you have the energy togo scam someone and like you had
a full baby and then like Idon't know?

Riss (26:51):
no, for real.
Sometimes I won't even correct, like the receipt that is
clearly showing that I have topay more just because I, like,
want to leave, you know likefine, I'll pay an extra ten
dollars, I don't care, I justwant to go you know I bought a.

Chrys (27:08):
I was gonna go get a haircut and there was this new
like smoothie place right nextdoor.
So I went into it and I wastalking to this lady.
She was so nice.
I bought like a protein shakefrom her.
I got out of the store and Isipped on it and it was like
drinking sand.
It was so bad and just nasty.
And I went into the hair salonand I was like do you guys have

(27:29):
a garbage?
I need to throw this out.
And they're like, oh, did youget that next door?
Go over there, she'll change itfor you.
And I'm like she was so nice, Idon't, I'm not going over there
.
I'm not like I'd rather die onthese three dollars than, like
have an interaction about it atall like to sit, to go back into
the store and just stand therefor another like three minutes

(27:51):
for her to make me a newsmoothie.
Like well to stand in line too, like there's like five people,
there was no line for a reason,as it turns out, but it would
have been me and her, me juststaring at her as she's doing
this thing and I'm like, yeah,it wasn't good, like I can't
know that as soon as you walk in, she's gonna be like oh, you
liked it.
Yeah, it's like no version twois gonna be sand with spit on it

(28:15):
, so I'd just rather cut that.
You know, just go about my day.
But it was funny.
The lady was like no, just shedidn't, like didn't want to let
me throw it away because it wasbehind the counter like the
garbage and I'm like pleasethrow it away.
This interaction is alsoruining my day.

Riss (28:33):
I don't want to talk I've just been like well, actually, I
bought it for you, no, it sucks, sorry.
