Welcome to The Local Church podcast, a church plant in Overland Park, KS. Join us as we journey together over the next few months to launch a new church in the Kansas City area. Once launched, we will release our messages on this podcast.
We follow up last weeks conversation talking through some more elements and research around Biblical consecration.
In this episode Haley shares about what she has been sitting in and learning about consecration. We are called to be holy and our role is to consecrate ourselves.

In this episode we talk about our second interest interest gathering for the church and how to navigate shifting priorities amongst a shifting schedule.
With missing last week, there are quite a few things we are excited to share. We got to connect with with college students at MNU, serve at 4th Friday, and share at two different churches!
We are so excited for our Core Team coming together and being able to be in regular community with them. We would also love your prayer about some things coming up this week for the church!
We are celebrating our first big community event that The Local Church co-hosted. It was a beautiful expression of the church loving our community. We also process how to shift what we have been doing to develop our Core Team!
This week we discussed what we are learning by reading about the life of Jesus in the Gospels and how we practically practice the way of Jesus in our day.
In this week's episode we take some time to share some of the harder parts of the week as we navigate new realities together in order to become more like Jesus.

We have some awesome updates to share in this episode, while also processing what does it mean to share our faith in Jesus in a quick touchpoint moment with someone. How do we do that well for their souls sake that brings God glory?
P.S. No new update next week as we are spending some extra time with family over teh 4th!
In this slightly shorter episode we share some key updates about what has happened recently in the life of the church. Our first service project, new core team members and some things to pray for coming up!

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
