Speaker 1 (00:01):
What an amazing place we live, south Dakota.
My mission statement is simpleTo re-energize the true
conservative values of SouthDakota.
You're listening to Toby DodenUnfiltered.
Welcome to episode 12 of TobyDoden Unfiltered.

(00:24):
I am your host, toby Doden, andI could not be more excited.
Today.
There is a lot of stuff going onin the state of South Dakota,
specifically with thislegislative session, and we're
going to get to that in just alittle bit.
There's also a lot of nationalnews going on, specifically with
Donald Trump and a lot ofthings that have been happening

(00:45):
since his inauguration onJanuary 20th.
So we're going to start rightthere.
It has been.
I I could.
There's never been a compressedtime period in the history of
this country that I can think ofor that I've personally
experienced.
That has been anything likeJanuary 20th until today, with
President Donald Trump and hisstaff, and specifically Elon

(01:09):
Musk and the Department of Dogethat has been set up to seek out
waste, fraud and abuse at thefederal government level
government level and, interestingly enough, the second
that Donald Trump was sworn in.

(01:30):
On January 20th, elon Musk andhis team of supercomputing
wizards got to work and ElonMusk said it was like being in a
room full of thousands oftargets or bullseyes.
You could shoot an arrowanywhere in the room and it
would hit waste, fraud and abuse.
So they didn't really knowwhere they were going to start.

(01:53):
Well, it became abundantlyclear very quickly that the
place to start was USAID.
Why?
Because the executives and thestaff and the team at USAID
through the biggest fit.
How dare Elon Musk, anunelected official, how dare he

(02:14):
question how we spend our money?
We at USAID are bigger than thefederal government.
We are our own entities.
Well, usaid, you are not.
And when Elon Musk saw that youwere complaining the loudest,
it told him very clearly thatyou had much to hide.

(02:36):
And so Musk and his team of youknow super computing wizards
dug into USAID, and boy did theyhit the honeypot I've heard
some folks talking about, oh wow, elon and his team.

(02:56):
They found $7 million worth ofwaste, fraud and abuse.
They found $30 million here.
They found $27 million here.
They found $100 million here.
They found 27 million here.
They found 100 million here.
And they're like that's notgoing to do anything to help
make our government moreefficient.
It's a drop in the bucket.
These people are corrupt, thesepeople are crazy.

(03:21):
These people are quiteliterally demonic, and the fact
that some people will actuallybelieve that spin just tells you
how much mental warfare hasbeen going on through the
mainstream media for years.
Because $27 million, $57million, $117 million you keep

(03:43):
stacking that up every singleday you will get to massive
hundreds of billions, if nottrillions of dollars of waste,
fraud and abuse.
Speaking of waste, fraud andabuse, what were some of the
things that they discovered atUSAID?
Well, our taxpayers weresending money to Morocco for

(04:10):
pottery classes $27 million.
Our taxpayers went to Moroccofor pottery classes.
How about environmental andsocial initiatives?
$520 million.
Consultant-driven ESGinvestments in Africa.
Hurricane victims in NorthCarolina, until Donald Trump was

(04:33):
sworn into office, got littleto no help from the federal
government.
The citizens of North Carolinawere still living, many of them
in horrific conditions.
Yet we can send $520 million toAfrica.
We were going to build a powerplant in Haiti that was going to

(04:54):
cost $1.2 billion.
Well, guess what?
That power plant in Haiti nevergot built.
Where's the $1.2 billion?
Joe Biden, gender and sexualorientation programs in Jamaica
and Uganda for $7 million.

(05:14):
And one of my favorites, andit's been widely reported Sesame
Street in Iraq $20 million.
Yes, our taxpayer dollars.
It doesn't matter what taxbracket you're in, if you pay 10
federal income tax, if you pay20 federal income tax or if you

(05:35):
pay the top mere 40 federalincome tax, how does it make you
feel that you work your buttoff all day, every day, 12
months a year, and you sendtaxpayer money into our federal
government to get pooledtogether for the common good,
and then we find out that thismoney is being shipped by the

(05:58):
tens of millions of dollars, andin some cases, billions of
dollars, all over the world forridiculous causes.
You might have heard about thebig EV initiatives that the
federal government has beenworking on.
You want to talk about waste, fraud and abuse?

(06:20):
Now, this doesn't have anythingdirectly to do with USAID, but
it's worth pointing out.
A bipartisan infrastructure lawwas signed into law in November
of 2021.
And this particularinfrastructure law allocated
$7.5 billion for our federalgovernment to build a national

(06:45):
EV charging network.
This was part of a broader planto install 500,000 EV chargers
by the year 2030.
Well, at the end of 2024, youwant to guess how many of the
500,000 EV chargers had beeninstalled in the United States

(07:09):
for 7.5 billion dollars?
37, 37 EV chargers for 7.5billion dollars another big one
people have been talking aboutagain, not directly related to

(07:30):
us aid, of course, but this isjust gives you a sneak peek into
the massive waste, fraud andabuse that has been happening
under liberal leadership in ourcountry social security
administration.
The social securityadministration, by their own

(07:53):
reports, estimate that in 2022,under Joe Biden, $13.6 billion
was wasted in Social Securityoverpayments, benefits fraud you
name it.
The Office of Inspector General, oig, estimates that that

(08:16):
number is around $72 billionfrom 2015 until 2022.
This and Elon Musk and his teamjust unearthed this massive
fraud technique that's beenbeing used.
They found out that the SocialSecurity Administration does not

(08:41):
use a process called what isdeduplication.
Well, deduplication wouldprevent the same social security
number from being multipliedmany times over inside the
social security system.

(09:01):
Deduplication you could have anindividual like mine or yours.
Your social security numbercould be duplicated many times
in the system.
Thus many people receivingbenefits and payments from
social security off of your onesocial security.

(09:24):
Massive, massive amounts offraud.
People can go in, they cansteal your Social Security
number, they can set up a newprofile and they can immediately
start receiving benefits thatour tax dollars pay for.
Now don't get me wrong SocialSecurity is a great program.

(09:45):
It has been for decades.
Trump and his administrationhave been very clear.
They have no plans to changeanything materially structurally
with Social Security.
Nor should they, but theyshould be vetting out the waste,
fraud and abuse so thatfraudsters aren't collecting

(10:06):
Social Security benefits off ofyour Social Security number.
The liberals are fit to be tied.
How dare the Trumpadministration delve into the
Social Security system?
How dangerous is that Dangerous?
Eliminating waste, fraud andabuse frees up money that can

(10:27):
help more people that actuallyneed social security benefits.
I was one of those kids.
My dad became disabled when hewas 30 years old and if it
wasn't for social security, weliterally could not have
survived or stayed in our home.
My family, my parents and mysiblings we lived largely on

(10:51):
Social Security during thisphase when my father couldn't
work.
I, as much as anybody, understand the value of Social
Security, but as a businessowner that runs a very
successful group of businesses,I also understand that you have
to be efficient and you can'twaste money.
You can't let people defraudgroups of money.

(11:14):
So massive news out of theSocial Security Administration.
Massive fraud from thesefraudsters taking individuals
like you and me, from thesefraudsters taking individuals
like you and me, taking ourSocial Security numbers and then

(11:36):
multiplying that same numberacross multiple fake profiles
and collecting massive amountsof Social Security.
So what's next for Doge ElonMusk and his team?
Well, donald Trump has saidwhat's next after USAID is the
Department of Education, followed by the Department of
Defense and the Pentagon.

(11:56):
I'm going to tell you right nowif you think the waste, fraud
and abuse was significant in theUSAID department.
I have a sneaky suspicion thatwhat we are going to see for
waste, fraud and abuse in theDepartment of Education and

(12:17):
specifically the Department ofDefense, is going to make US aid
look like peace.
Every year, during thelegislative session in South
Dakota and leading up to thelegislative session in South
Dakota, there's these buzzwords,right?
Well, this year, one of thebuzzwords or phrases going into

(12:39):
our legislative session wasproperty tax, property tax
relief.
The voters in November largelythe statistics bear this out are
being crippled by property tax.

(13:00):
Elon Musk recently said thatproperty taxes are a de facto
lease with the government, andhe's right.
And I'll add to what Elon Musksaid yes, it's a de facto lease,
but it's a de facto lease withthe government in perpetuity.

(13:21):
It never goes away when yousign a lease agreement with your
landlord.
You can kind of negotiate termshey, will you do a three-month
lease?
Will you do a six-month lease?
Landlord, you can kind ofnegotiate terms.
Hey, will you do a three-monthlease?
Will you do a six-month lease?
Will you lock in my rent forthis long?
This is an open-ended leasewith no oversight with our
government agencies.

(13:43):
South Dakota is not immune to it.
Brown County is not immune toit.
We have seen massive propertytax increases in South Dakota
the last five years and even thelast 10 years.
So I've had people literallyI've had people very close to me
say Toby, why is property tax,and specifically reducing or

(14:06):
abolishing property tax, moreimportant than other taxes in
South Dakota?
And it's a great question.
But the answer is simple andthe answer is clear.
The other taxes don'tdisproportionately affect
negatively groups of people likethe elderly.
There are tens of thousands ofelderly South Dakota citizens

(14:31):
that have been living in theirhome for decades with no
mortgage.
Now, whether they have amortgage or not doesn't matter
to me, but many of the elderlypeople in this state the
overwhelming majority that havelived in their home for decades
have no mortgage.
But what has happened the lastseveral years is this their

(14:55):
utilities have more than doubled, their homeowner's insurance
has more than doubled and now,in some cases, their property
tax on their home has doubled orat least gone up 30% to 40, 40
to 50 percent in many, manyinstances.
This is forcing elderly peoplein droves to have to sell their

(15:24):
home, their last piece ofindividuality, the home they
shared with their spouse, thehome they shared with their
family, their children, theirgrandkids, their great-grandkids
, where they spent Easter's,where they spent Thanksgiving
dinners, where they spentChristmas holidays together.

(15:44):
Thousands of memories gonebecause of our inflated property
taxes.
In South Dakota.
Now it's a buzzword in thelegislature.
Every tom dick and harry wantsto write a bill to be part of

(16:08):
the property tax solution.
We've got I don't know, maybe adozen bills, I didn't even
count them.
A whole list of bills that arecurrently active in our South
Dakota legislature and all ofthem are inadequate.
It's a nice way of putting it.
Minor property tax relief willdo nothing for seniors.

(16:31):
It'll also do nothing for youngadults who want to capture the
American dream and buy and owntheir own home.
Want to capture the Americandream and buy and own their own
home.
As a young adult in SouthDakota.
It is one of the proudestthings you can do is to buy your
first home period.
They have the same issue oursenior citizens do with their

(16:54):
homes.
Try 25-year-old, 30-year-old,try buying a house, a house
utilities twice what they werefive years ago, homeowners
insurance twice what it was fiveyears ago and now you've got to
escrow this massive propertytax bill into your payment.
Combined with high interestrates for mortgages, it makes

(17:15):
buying a home unforeable foralmost every young couple.
I know I have a real estatecompany that owns a lot of homes
, that owns a lot of apartments, owns a lot of commercial
properties.
I also own a real estate agencythat buys and sells homes and I

(17:35):
have never seen such a lack ofactivity from young people
trying to buy homes.
It's virtually zero.
Our home market for first-timehomebuyers, at least where I am

(17:55):
invested in, is the worst I'veever seen, and it's largely due
to property taxes.
So I don't care if you're aDemocrat, I don't care if you
are a moderate Republican, Idon't care if you are an
American first Republican.

(18:17):
The voters don't care when itcomes to things like property
tax.
What they care about is resultsdelivering on results of the
mandate that was handed down bythe voters in November and our
legislature has failed miserably.
Moderate Republicans fightingAmerican First Republicans Put

(18:42):
your bull crap and your pride inyour back pocket and get some
bills done that actually helpSouth Dakota residents.
Same thing with school choice.
Same thing with property rights.
Same thing with property rights.

(19:02):
Voters don't care what happensbehind the scenes in peer.
Voters don't care what thispolitician said or what that
politician said.
Voters care about results thathelp make their lives better,
easier and safer, and this isthe role I have had.

(19:25):
This is the role Dakota FirstAction has had.
Our role, largely, is todeliver results for the people
of South Dakota period.
Of course, we can disagree withlots of things that some of the
other people say and do.
I don't agree with hardlyanything Dusty Johnson says, for

(19:48):
example.
I don't agree with much of anyof the liberal Republicans,
rinos, whatever you want to callthem.
But that doesn't mean that wecan't work together to deliver
results that the voters askedfor in November.
We have to do better.
So, if you're anything like me,you were absolutely bored out of

(20:14):
your mind during the Super Bowlhalftime.
Whatever you want to call it,I'm not going to call it a
concert or show because it wasterrible.
Apparently, president DonaldTrump thought so as well,
because at halftime, while thisabomination was happening,

(20:35):
donald Trump made an executiveorder to stop producing the
penny.
Thank you, president Trump.
I've been saying this for years.
Why are we producing pennies?
They are meaningless and theyare useless in our economy.
Did you know that for everypenny that our federal

(20:57):
government produces, it coststhe taxpayers two pennies, and
by not producing new penniesmoving forward, we will save the
taxpayers of America $180million?
I know this isn't a big story.

(21:18):
I know it's not going to definePresident Trump's 47th
President of the United Stateshis time in office.
I get that, but it is symbolicof how bloated and how
ridiculous the deep state hasgotten, and so thank you,
president Trump, for continuingto.

(21:39):
Every single hour of everysingle day, there seems to be a
new report coming up whereyou're just like I can't run for
office again.
This is it.
I'm doing the right thing forthe people and we are going to
set the tone for our country, and eliminating the penny was
clearly a good choice.
But liberals, of course, arefurious that the penny is going

(22:05):
away.
Why?
Because it wasn't their idea.
Liberals will fight againstanything that President Donald
Trump and his administrationproposed, regardless of how much
sense it makes or regardless ofthe support of the American
people.
These liberals would ratherburn our country to the ground

(22:32):
than acknowledge that DonaldTrump has the future of this
country back on track.
So the 2025 legislative sessionin South Dakota is well underway
.
In fact, we can kind of see thefinish line in the horizon and

(22:54):
I've got to tell you it's been avery disappointing legislative
session.
A lot of renewed optimism goinginto the session.
There was a clear mandate fromthe people of South Dakota that
said we are done with theestablishment or left-leaning
Republicans.
Dakota First Action, mypolitical action committee,

(23:17):
played a big role in balancing,I think, nearly 15 incumbents
and were replaced with moreconservative legislatures.
This in turn, changed over theentire leadership group in the
state Senate and in the stateHouse group in the state Senate

(23:38):
and in the state House, which isnow largely made up of
conservatives Not all, which wehave found out.
I'm disappointed because all Ihave heard come out of here is
fighting, infighting Republicans, fighting Republicans.

(23:58):
I think they've lost focus onwhat their mission was and is,
and certainly should be, whichis to answer to the will of the
people, and the people wantedthings to get done.
They wanted property tax reliefthat's the buzzword right

(24:21):
Relief they wanted school choice.
They want landowner rights.
They want fair and accurateelections.
On and on and on.
Yet every day I am seeing thesenonsensical, ridiculous bills
that are being put forth in theHouse and in the Senate that are

(24:44):
wasting taxpayers' time and arewasting much of the taxpayers'
money.
We already have a shortenedlegislative session, and the
fact that we are spending daysand days and even weeks debating
some of these ridiculous billsthat have nothing to do with

(25:05):
what the people of South Dakotawant makes me absolutely furious
.
Makes me absolutely furious.
One of these bills that's beenwidely reported was SB 12,
senate Bill 12, which was a billthat was put forth to target me

(25:26):
.
Why do I say that?
Because what the bill waswritten to accomplish only
affected one citizen in SouthDakota, and that citizen is Toby
Doden.
Let me give you a little bitmore detail.
So I have a PAC PoliticalAction Committee called Dakota

(25:48):
First Action that I started inearly 2024.
I started it because I am agrassroots advocate.
I am a grassroots activist, Ibelieve in smaller, more
efficient government and I wastired of watching what the

(26:09):
establishment politicians onboth sides of the aisle were
doing to our country and weredoing to the state of South
Dakota.
And so, as a citizen, I decidedit was time to use my influence
, my energy, my expertise and mymoney to get involved to give

(26:32):
the little people, the voters inSouth Dakota, a chance against
the system.
So, yes, I have to date loanedmy PAC $215,000.
$15,000.

(26:53):
The bill that has since passedthe Senate and the House and I'm
sure will get signed byGovernor Roden, will prevent me,
moving forward, starting inJuly, from being able to borrow
or donate in excess of $10,000per year to my PAC or any other
PAC.
But you know what it doesn't do?

(27:20):
It doesn't prevent careerpolitician and rhino
extraordinaire, dusty Johnson, from raising millions of dollars
nationally outside the state ofSouth Dakota and then, with the
click of a button, transferringthose millions of dollars into

(27:45):
a South Dakota account that hecan use to fund his campaign or
other campaigns in South Dakota.
Let me say that again CareerRINO, dusty Johnson and other
career establishment politicians, but Dusty Johnson specifically

(28:09):
I'm going to talk about himbecause he was involved in all
of this Dusty has raisedmillions of dollars nationally
since he's been in Congress Ithink he has close to $6 million
, a massive war chest right.
Dusty Johnson has one of thelargest national war chests of

(28:33):
all 435 members of Congress.
He raises this money fromanybody he wants, all around the
country Groups, individuals,doesn't matter.
So now he can take this $6million from a national account
and transfer it and drop it intoa South Dakota account and then

(28:57):
he can use that $6 billionhowever he wants.
But Toby Doden or you can onlyparticipate with $10,000 per
year.
With $10,000 per year, have youever heard of anything so

(29:22):
unjust in your life?
Finally somebody a resident, amember of we, the people in
South Dakota me decides to getinvolved.
I loaned $215,000 to a politicalaction committee to help the
little people in South Dakota.
I didn't benefit a cent fromthat loan, nothing.

(29:43):
That money went to getconservatives elected.
That allowed conservatives tobe elected to the new leaders of
the state House and Senate.
Without my $215,000 loan toDakota First Action, we would
not have new leadership in thestate legislature.

(30:04):
Without my $215,000 loan toDakota First Action, we would
not have beaten Amendment G theradical abortion bill in
November.
We would not have beatenAmendment H, which would have
turned South Dakota upside downon its head, and an open primary
, jungle primary state.
We also used it to fight anddefeat all of the other radical

(30:30):
ballot initiatives and measures.
To fight and defeat all of theother radical ballot initiatives
and measures.
So let's recap A lowly citizenin the state of South Dakota, me
, donates $215,000, excuse me,loans $215,000 of my own money

(30:58):
to a political action committeethat goes out and fights for
conservative values and wins atevery level, delivering you an
all-new, mostly conservativestate legislature, defeating
radical abortion bills, defeating jungle primary bills.
That's what the money was usedfor.
Had this bill to target me beenpassed a year ago, none of

(31:23):
those things I just mentionedwould have happened.
We would have abortion on theballot, we would have jungle
primaries, we would still haveWill Mortensen, casey Crabtree
and God knows who else runningour state senate and state house
.
The establishment hates you.

(31:44):
Dusty Johnson hates you.
He is a career politician whohas only worked as an adult in
politics, and he and his teamand the RINO establishment in
the state of South Dakota workedovertime to get Senate Bill 12

(32:09):
passed, and so we are going tosee very soon if Governor Roden
thinks it's okay for theestablishment to attack
individuals and continue tosupport a system where only the
establishment, oligarchicpoliticians, can continue to get

(32:34):
reelected.
We will keep an eye on it.
We will certainly report as wesee things unfold in the state
legislature.
Thank you all for listening andI look forward to talking to
you soon.
Thank you for listening to TobyDoden unfiltered.
