Athena Hope (00:15):
Hello everyone, welcome to the Transgenders at
War podcast, the show thatfocuses on transgender people,
politics and how transgenderpeople are affected by it.
I'm your host, athena Hope.
Today, we will be covering atopic that I find deeply
concerning.
We will discuss America's scaretactics and trying to bully
Greenland to take it over, aswell as Donald Trump's

(00:36):
imperialistic ambitions ingeneral.
Since Trump took office, america's reputation has taken a
nosedive.
Allies who used to see us asfriends friends are now seeing
us as unpredictable andsomething to be afraid of.
I think one of the more worsethings that have happened to our

(00:58):
country since Trump took overis just how much we're scaring
not just other people, butpeople who are supposed to be
our closest allies.
Donald Trump thinks of himselfas a dictator, and one of the
things he has been focusing onis expanding American territory
at any cost.
Trump has been threatening ourclosest allies to the North
Canada and Greenland into beingcontrolled by the US.

(01:18):
The United States, once abeacon of hope and freedom, is
now the playground bully flexingits muscles, and Trump's
insatiable appetite for powerhas led him to eye Greenland as
his next trophy, a prize to bewon in his twisted game of
global domination.
For weeks, trump has dispatchedhis minions, including his own

(01:41):
son, to Greenland, but not witholive branches but with veiled
threats and intimidation tactics.
Many Greenlanders haveexpressed that their way of life
has been tarnished and they nowhave many sleepless nights due
to the threat of Americanimperialism.
The world is watching in horroras America transforms from a
trusted ally into a ravenousbeast, hungry for more land and

(02:01):
resources.
Greenland is a country thatfirst had settlements as far
back as year 980.
That was when Erik the Red, aNorse Viking, first established
colonies on the island.
Before the arrival of the Norse, various Inuit groups who have
migrated from the CanadianArctic inhabited Greenland.
At first, greenland was underthe rule of the Norse settlers,

(02:22):
who maintained close ties withthe country of Norway.
Over the next hundred years, the Norse colonies declined and
they eventually disappeared.
Then, in the 1300s, norwayentered into a union with
Denmark.
As a result, greenland cameunder the control of the
Danish-Norwegian crown.
It was only until the 1700s,about 500 years afterward, that

(02:43):
Denmark and Norway send missionsto recolonize Greenland in
order to establish trade andmissionary activities.
This marked the beginning ofmore formal ties between
Greenland and Denmark.
After the union between Denmarkand Norway broke apart in the
year 1814, greenland remained aDanish colony.
Denmark focused on developingGreenland, although through a

(03:03):
colonizer mindset, denmarkoppressing and forcing their own
culture and beliefs.
In 1953, Denmark changedGreenland's status from a colony
to a more equal part of theKingdom of Denmark.
Then, in 1979, denmark gaveGreenland more independence,
allowing it to manage many ofits own internal affairs.
Finally, in 2009, theSelf-Government Act gave

(03:25):
Greenland even more control overits own government, including
things like law enforcement, thecourt system and natural
resources.
Today, greenland is almostcompletely independent.
However, denmark still helpswith some important things, such
as foreign affairs, defense andconstitutional matters.
The relationship betweenGreenland and Denmark is still
growing, with Denmark supportingGreenland's goal of becoming

(03:48):
fully independent.
Denmark and most others in theworld are proud to see how far
along Greenland has come a truetestament of human resilience
and how far we can grow when weall help each other.
Unfortunately, other people, such as Donald Trump, sees
Greenland as nothing but aconquest of resources for his
own benefit.
Donald Trump isn't the firstAmerican leader to be interested

(04:08):
in Greenland.
During World War II, the UnitedStates built military bases in
Greenland to protect the NorthAtlantic from Nazi attacks.
Later, during the Cold War,greenland was important for
keeping an eye on what theSoviet Union was doing.
The US built more than a dozenmilitary bases in Greenland,
including airfields and weatherstations.
After the Cold War ended, having such a strong US military

(04:31):
presence in Greenland wasn'tnecessary anymore, and America
tipped down all their militarybases until there was one
remaining.
Now, fast forward to today.
America is interested inGreenland again.
This is because climate changeis melting the Arctic ice around
Greenland.
As the ice melts away, newshipping routes are opening up
and valuable minerals and energyresources are becoming a lot

(04:51):
easier to reach.
Scientists believe thatGreenland has a lot of rare
minerals, oil and gas.
These resources are reallyimportant for first world
countries.
The resources in Greenlandcould help a country rely less
on other nations for suppliesand could also help with
technological progress.
That being said, the onlycountry that deserves the
minerals and resources inGreenland is Greenland itself.

(05:13):
Donald Trump thinks that justbecause we have the largest
military on earth, we can bullyGreenland into submission.
Whatever happened to friendshipand making deals that benefit
both parties?
Donald Trump promised quote nonew wars.
Yet here we are with JD Vanceand Greenland backed by soldiers
threatening military force.
This is not diplomacy.
This is a disgrace.

(05:33):
This is absolutely disgustingbehavior.
Donald Trump is trying to saythat the only reason he wants to
take over Greenland is forAmerican national security.
This is blatantly false.
There is no need to invade andtake over another country when
we are already all part of thesame NATO alliance.
America already has anagreement with Greenland to
build bases and defenses onbehalf of NATO.

(05:54):
Denmark is a founding member ofNATO and since Greenland is a
territory of Denmark, itnaturally extends to Greenland
as well.
Donald Trump and JD Vance hasthe audacity to claim that
Greenland is in danger fromRussia and China, but when I
look around, I only see twoAmerican idiots saying that they
want to capture it.
Russia is in the middle of awar right now that they're

(06:14):
losing, and they couldn'tpossibly dream of invading
Greenland.
And China in recent years hasplayed it the way you're
supposed to play it.
China.
Instead of threatening andyelling like a baby, they're out
there in the world buildingrelationships and making deals.
China has its own problems, butto think they would invade
Greenland is ridiculous.
Also, this completely ignoresthe fact that Greenland is a
part of the NATO alliance, whichmeans that once it's attacked,

(06:37):
then not only are you at warwith Greenland, but you'd be at
war with all of NATO.
That would include over 30countries in alliance all at
once, and we know that DonaldTrump doesn't want to be a part
of NATO anymore.
But over 30 countries caneasily cripple America by just
putting economic sanctions on usalone.
But hey, let's pretend we livein a magical world where America
can invade and take control ofGreenland with no consequences

(07:00):
whatsoever.
Trump said that control ofGreenland would be for its own
benefit, but how can that betrue when Trump is just days
away from throwing America intoa recession?
Trump's plan to impose tariffson everyone lacked any reasoning
.
Even conservative think groupsare calling Trump's tariff plans
ridiculous.
The science and methodology forthe tariffs he picked out are

(07:20):
nonsensical.
The reason we know this is notjust because the numbers he
picked doesn't make any sense, but a lot of the places that he
picked to place tariffs ondoesn't have a single human
being living there.
Trump placed tariffs on islandsthat have nothing but penguins
and wildlife.
We are starting to see thegenius of Donald Trump.
Do you think other countriesaround the world are taking too
kindly to random Americantariffs?

(07:41):
They're not.
Many countries, such as China, are retaliating, and because of
Trump.
China has now hit us back withnow around a 40% retaliatory
tariff, along with blockingprecious minerals that we need.
Since Donald Trump laid histariffs, the stock market has
been crashing for days now, andJP Morgan has announced data
showing that the chance of anAmerican recession is over 60%

(08:03):
now.
This is the result of putting aguy in charge who has no idea
what he's doing.
In the past week, there hasbeen mass protests around the
entire country.
Do you think these billionairescare if America falls into
another Great Depression?
Billionaires like Elon Musk andJeff Bezos are ecstatic that
they will now have theopportunity to buy businesses
and companies for pennies on thedollar.

(08:24):
Billionaires like Donald Trumpdo not feel the pain that we do.
When the economy is bad, theydo not have to worry about money
.
It is only the working classthat suffers from their
decisions.
We already know how Trump and JDVance feels about Greenland
becoming an American territory, but who cares about their
opinions?
How about we ask the peoplewhose opinion truly matters, the
Greenlanders themselves?

(08:44):
The Greenlanders are not happyat all with all the American
pressure placed on them.
A big Danish newspaperconducted a poll on Greenlanders
to see if they wanted to becomea part of the United States.
The results showed that over85% of Greenlanders opposed the
very idea of joining America.
About half of them see DonaldTrump's interest in Greenland as
nothing but a threat.
The mass majority ofGreenlanders said they would

(09:07):
much rather prefer to be Danishcitizens than American.
A few weeks back, jd Vance'swife, usha Vance, wanted to
visit Greenland.
American organizers went to theGreenland capital and went door
to door, trying their hardestto find a family that would
invite the second lady in.
Once she arrived, they wereunable to find a single family
because everyone said no.
Instead, afterward, massprotests erupted in Greenland

(09:30):
against American threats.
I would tell you, if it's onething that Trump is good at,
it's uniting people, unitingpeople against him and his evil
administration.
Not only do you have protestsgoing on in every single state
in America, but you have themgoing on in the rest of the
world as well.
That is impressive.
Greenland has facedimperialization before and it
doesn't deserve to go through itagain.

(09:51):
Denmark and the rest of NATOhas Greenland well protected.
In fact, denmark has recentlycreated a plan to invest $2
billion directly into thedefense of Greenland, with
America holding the option ofinvasion.
This isn't a coincidence,greenland doesn't have to fear
Russia or China from invading it.
It only has to fear the UnitedStates.
Jd Vance and Trump can lie allthey want about how much danger

(10:13):
they're in from other countries, but do not let them fool you.
The only danger for Greenlandcomes from the United States
itself.
Donald Trump, the wannabedictator, is determined to annex
another country and as anAmerican myself, it makes me
completely disgusted.
If you're actually seriousabout countering China or Russia
, you do it through alliancesand investment, not by treating
foreign territories like amonopoly board.

(10:35):
This message goes out to allour friends in Greenland, canada
and all our other allies.
We, the American people, arenot our government.
We understand the fear you faceand we do not want war.
We love you all and all of ourallies and me personally.
I will use my full power andvoice to make sure Trump's
imperialistic dreams neverbecome a reality.

(10:55):
There is a reason Trump hasn'tmentioned a peep about his
imperialistic goals.
When he was running forpresident, he knew the idea of
it is ridiculous, but now thatTrump is the one in power, with
his call behind him, I have noidea where this country is
headed, while Trump is focusingall his energy on renaming the
Gulf of Mexico and picking outcountries to invade.
Americans are still here, suffering and confused.

(11:17):
The top 1% elites havesucceeded in causing division
against us, and it is only whenwe, the people, wake up and
realize who the true enemy iscan we finally overcome our
struggles.
I will continue to monitor thesituation between Greenland and
the threat of Donald Trump'sadministration.
Please remember that the goodpeople of the world would never
support the invasion of anothernation.

(11:37):
We are supposed to be friends.
Greenland is not just numberson a piece of paper.
Greenland is a proud nation ofmany people that deserves its
own independence, not threatsfrom a knockoff Vladimir Putin.
I would like to thank each andevery one of you for tuning in
to today's episode.

(11:58):
America is staring down thesame path that Germany stared
down in the 1930s.
The Supreme Court has justallowed Trump's administration
to send off his victims intoconcentration camps.
That's very important to say.
Do not ever let the Republicansplay down what they're doing.
They are not deporting people.
Deporting someone is when yousend them back to their country.
What Trump is doing iskidnapping people in the middle

(12:20):
of the night to send themstraight to a prison that
they'll die in, and the SupremeCourt today just gave him
permission.
Please watch my previousepisode to learn more about the
Alien Enemies Act of 1798.
Trump yesterday has justthreatened yet again that he
can't wait to send Americancitizens into these
concentration camps.
On my podcast, I will always saythe truth.
Do not listen to the mainstreammedia, because they will only

(12:42):
sugarcoat everything they tellyou.

that truth will kill me.
