Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, we are at page twenty three, more or
less halfway through the fifty page phone data review. Despite
the doldrums on August first, second, and third in the timeline,
August fourth and August sixth are huge milestones in the
review up to this point. August sixth is arguably the
day when the most traffic passes between NaN's phone and

(00:22):
Watts's phone, and there's a good reason for it. What
eventually drops the bomb has been carrying for weeks.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I got my ice field flat. Third, if.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
We begin our analysis of August sixth by observing the basics.
Number one, it was the last full day of the
Watts family reunion. Number two, what's weighted or was forced
to wait until the very last day of his week
long trip to see his family. Number Three, When WA's
went to see his family on the last day, he
went alone, without Chinan and without the kids. This was

(01:13):
massively symbolic and hugely significant. I'll explain further down precisely
why as we go through the timeline of the phone
data review, I want to bring in some of these
statements from the discovery documents as well, just to contextualize
what we're looking at and the way Wat's in Chanan's
friends describe elements of the timeline. These descriptions aren't going

(01:36):
to be one hundred percent reliable, but they will provide
us with some guidance. Oh you guys ready, you got
no want to strap yourself in, make yourself a cup
of coffee, and let's get focused before we get to that.
If you haven't subscribed to the channel, please do. If
you find this analysis worthwhile and you've never hit the
thanks button, now it's your chance and let's get started.

(01:59):
So on page four hundred and fifty three of the
Discovery documents, we have Christina Meecham providing a broad recap.
One of the more interesting artifacts in her statements is this.
In recent weeks, Meetam described Shenan Watts as becoming increasingly
frustrated with Chris Watts's behavior and their marriage. Sheannan Watts
told Meechim that Chris Watts left to sleep on a

(02:21):
couch during an argument, and they were also arguing about
who wanted the new baby. Shenan told Meacham that Chris
would not fight back during arguments and was distant or
her big warning sign there a big red flag. Chanan
said that Chris was being an urshol and refused to
have sexual relations with her after she returned from North Carolina.

(02:44):
This rings true that in the middle of an argument,
Watt's timed out and left to sleep on the couch.
Bear in mind that on day one, Shenan slept on
the couch. Now he is we know they were constantly
texting one another, which reinforces the notion that, especially at night,
although they slept in the same house, they didn't share
a room or a bed once during that week. Although

(03:07):
Christina is right about them arguing about the baby, this
aspect only came up on the last day, August sixth. Also,
Shannan seemed to want or suggest sex with them for
the first time on August fifth. According to What's, the
last time he had sex with sNaN was when she
felt pregnant in late April early may make of that

(03:28):
what you will. Now let's drill into the review itself.
August sixth, twenty eighteen, at six thirteen hours what searched
Google for the distance from the Moon to the Earth,
probably because he wanted to say to Kessinger, I love
you this distance the distance from the Moon.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
To the Earth.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
You know that's saying. Then seven minutes later, proving messages
have been deleted from What's his phone. Sanan noted in
several messages, your only response last night was I don't
want to lose the kids. You used me to just
have a boy only reason you wanted another kid. I
can't handle this and you are okay with it. Why
didn't you just tell me you were done? Why get

(04:07):
me pregnant? Then two minutes later, Wats replied, I'm not
just staying because of the kids. They are my light
and that will not change. I didn't fall out of
love in five weeks. That's impossible. I don't want to
eraise eight years just like that. I'm not sure what's
in my head. I don't know if it's my parents,
the third pregnancy, if I'm just scared, or what. I

(04:28):
didn't use you to summarize those words. What's is basically saying,
I'm confused. But actually he knows exactly who he wants
and who he doesn't want. He just doesn't now to
play it. At this point in Chernan's phone, the conversation
continued O six twenty two hours, that's what you said
last night. You can't even say why you're married to me.
That's a stab in the heart. You didn't say you

(04:50):
didn't want to lose us. You said you didn't want
to lose the kids. What's responded, I don't want to
lose anyone now. The fact that these messages basically showing arguments, disagreements, unhappiness,
the fact that they are deleted and Sannan is murdered
tells you all you need to know about his criminal
psychology and about his culpability. Schanan responded, this has been

(05:14):
the worst week of my life. We were supposed to
celebrate love and family, but instead hate and whatever you
call it. I'm not willing to watch something dangerous happen
to one of our kids with your family for you
to wake up. They will give you sorry excuses. Today.
I don't know what to say. I don't want to
come now to reiterate. What's googling the distance from the

(05:36):
moon to the Earth seems to be research for another
love letter to his mistress. That's where his head's at.
Shenan doesn't realize how close she is to figuring out
the situation when she tells what's at six twenty that morning,
I can't handle this and you are okay with it?
What is okay with splading up from his family? And
we know why, but she doesn't. Although sheanan keeps at him,

(05:59):
one wonders how or why she couldn't or wouldn't join
the dots. It's as if she expects him to say something,
and only once the words are spoken can reality be acknowledged. Conversely,
as long as he doesn't say something, maybe there's hope,
maybe he still loves her, maybe she can still maneuver him,
But this time she's really fooling herself. At six point

(06:20):
twenty two, what tries to rationalize his position, even though
virtually none of it will be true in six days time.
So when he says, I'm not just staying because of
the kids, he is. They are my light and that
will not change, Well, it did. I didn't fall out
of love in five weeks. He did. If he was
in love with her, then, to begin with, that's impossible,

(06:40):
well apparently not. I don't want to e raise eight
years just like that, But on second thoughts, that is
exactly what it ends up doing. And so ultimately every
word of what you just said?

Speaker 2 (06:53):
What's wrong?

Speaker 1 (06:54):
In his final sentence of that text, what reveals what's
been playing out of late between them. I'm not sure
what's in his head. I don't know if it's my parents,
the third pregnancy, if I'm just scared, or what I
didn't use you. All of this is likely true, though
from a certain point of view, he is trying to
be as honest as he can be. He's just not

(07:15):
sure what to do or what is a kind of
self disclosure. It's referring to Kessinger. This is really the
first hint that he's having doubts about the third child.
It happens on the last day of their North Carolina trip.
Shenan's accusation that he used her to have a third
child doesn't resonate at all. If anything, Shenan's been using

(07:36):
him all along, or is that unfair to say She's
been using him as a prop for her thrived spiels,
She's been using him as a sperm donus so she
could realize her dream of being a mom, and very
clearly she's been using him as an atm. As Shenan
goes on and on with text of the text, what
feels a gnawing sense of dread. And then she says

(07:58):
this has been the worst week of my life. Watts
must have looked at that, shaking his head privately and thought,
it's so much worse. You have no idea. The key
is that in terms of Shannan, Whats is scared and
he does feel guilty, or, if not guilty, uncomfortable and
a little afraid because he doesn't know what to do.
With Shenan's hat trigger temper, anything can happen. He wants

(08:21):
to keep things under control. He is not sure what
to do. He's terrified that if he's honest, if he
tells her he wants to leave her, there will be
a nuclear explosion, and he doesn't know what that's going
to look like. What is Kessinger going to think? That's
his dilemma, That's what he's afraid of. We have confirmation
of this on page five nine nine of the discovery documents,

(08:42):
where What explains his misgivings about how to go about
the separation, while at the same time admitting he was
completely infatuated and intoxicated by Kessinger. So referring to Kessinger,
Chris said that she was a wonderful person who knew
he was married and that he was having issues in
his marriage. Chris said he told her he was going

(09:03):
to get separated from Shechannan, but he didn't know what
that was going to look like. Even after the fact,
Chris Watts used very effusive terms to refer to his mistress.
He said that she took his breath away. He never
thought in a million years something like that could happen
to him. Chris said he never felt the same way
about anyone in his lifetime as he did about her.

(09:24):
And now this is Cassie Rosenberg's version of the Last
Week in North Carolina. This is from Discovery Documents, page
six to seven. The last week Chris and Chanan were
in North Carolina, Chris told her that he did not
want the third baby, was not in love with Channan,
and did not care about Chanan or the baby. Chris
also told Channan that he had thought having a third

(09:46):
baby would fix things, but once Sheannan flew home to Colorado,
she only texted Cassie because she did not want Chris
to know she was discussing their problems with others. Now
none of this has happened yet, mind you, but it
is going to play out today. On their last full
day North Carolina, he's going to tell her he doesn't
want the third baby, and he's not in love with her.

(10:09):
These are two huge bombshells. But on the morning of
August sixth, the day is supposed to see his folks,
they haven't dropped yet. Chanan continued, You don't see you
or how you're treating me. Eight years of love and
you are treating me horribly. I fell deep in love
with you this summer you fell out. That's not love.
Love falls deeper in love when a part not out.

(10:31):
You don't love me, or you have a horrible way
of showing it. You haven't fought for me this week.
It's only the kids. At one twenty eight, What's transferred
an image of Kessinger into his secret calculator application on
that fateful last stage. Seems Kessinger's still sending What's pictures
of herself, and this is despite whatever she saw on

(10:52):
NaN's public Facebook profile. We can't be sure exactly when
What's when to see his folks, or how he got there.
Presumably they came to pick him up very early in
the morning without waking the kids. This might explain the
text At six o'clock that morning. What's may have answered
them from the car. In any event, he visits his
family without Shannan and without the kids and think about it.

(11:15):
This provides him with involuntary mental preparation by being with
his wife and kids for a week described by Shanan
as the worst week of her life, and then the
relief to be away from her, what, says an opportunity
to imagine not just being with his family, but further
exploring the notion of getting rid of them.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
What would that look like?

Speaker 1 (11:36):
One thing was certain if he did it the right way,
if he got a divorce, Shenan would seize control and
leave a scorched earth around her. The introvert's head was
in overdrive, thinking, plodding, how can I fix this? If
he did it his way, maybe maybe things could work
out for him for them. It's difficult to imagine what's

(11:57):
carrying out his annihilation six days later, if it wasn't
for Shenan symbolically at least annihilating herself and the kids
from the equation on August sixth. It's this moment right
here where Watts goes to see his family and Shenan
refuses to let him take the kids, and she also
cuts herself out of the equation at the end of

(12:19):
the day, What's let Chanan know in his own craven
way that he'd like to sleep at his folk's house.
If that's okay, His folks should prefer for there not
to be a scene. But Shenan's not interested. Should she
come pick him up? Eighteen forty three, Nan told What
said his parents did not want to drive him to
her location. Channan asked if What's wanted her to come

(12:40):
pick him up, and What replied, it's up to you.
He's cool bringing me back first thing in the morning early.
Then two minutes later Sheanan replied, we fucking leave tomorrow.
I need help. Chanan told What she was on her
way to pick him up. Apparently, after some cajoling, Whats
advised his father had agreed to drive him to her location.

(13:01):
From a particular perspective, this was a precious time for Watts.
It was good to be home. He felt himself dreading
going back to her. Probably he had some kind of
heart to heart with his parents, confiding to them about
some of his feelings. His mother might have convinced him
or influenced him to just tell her. David tell him

(13:24):
and isn't that what they spoke about that evening, Perhaps
while on the drive back to Aberdeen, when it was
just him and his folks in the car, driving reluctantly
back to her twenty forty one, Watch took photographs of
various images inside his parents' home. They included this family portrait.
At twenty one thirty nine hours, sNaN told Watts, I

(13:46):
was trying to get you to fucking hug me, make
me feel safe. This is much deeper than lack of conversation,
make me feel like everything is going to be okay.
What's replied, it will be okay, this will all get fixed,
and responded, No, I don't need words, damn it. You
just told me you don't want this baby. Twenty one
forty five hours What replied, I am scared. Okay, you

(14:09):
wanted the truth and I told you how I felt.
So it's late at night on the very last day there.
It's twenty one thirty nine and what is apparently back
at Shechannan's family's home and the arguing is still NonStop.
Is finally told Shannan how he feels he's not in
love with her anymore. She demands to be hugged, She bristles,
adding make me feel like everything is going to be okay.

(14:31):
With each successive text, things are getting worse and worse.
How can he regain control of this precarious situation? Shanan replied,
you hold me after that conversation. You hold me if
you want this to fuck and last. You make me
feel safe after that bomb. Don't you get it? How
many times do I have to ask you to hold me?
You hate me that much? What eventually replied, I don't

(14:54):
hate you. I will fix it. It will be better.
Shenan noted you didn't answer me. I'm begging you to
hold me and you still can't. What replied, I don't
know where my head is at. I will fix it though.
Twenty two, sixteen hour Shanan wrote, this isn't the only thing.
This doesn't get your head all screwed up. Something changed
in the last five weeks, something you won't say. Seventeen

(15:18):
minutes later, Shanan continues all of this, asking for you
to talk to me. You falling asleep at seven or eight,
don't tell me it's me. It's not communication. You're not
telling me something added to this message where sorted screenshots
from Sarnan's phone of previous text messages with What's in
which he offered excuses for not calling her. Most have

(15:39):
been featured in this review. None were found in Watts's phone,
And so finally Shenan has gone on to review her
own phone data and she's figured something out. You're not
telling me something, bingo. sNaN told him she knew there
was someone else and cried, but he denied having an affair.

(15:59):
I just guilty, more guilty than ever before. He told
Schannan he didn't think their marriage was going to work,
and he did not feel like he and Schanan were
compatible with each other. When we revert back to Cassie's
statement in the discovery, we see that Schanan begins to
act counterintuitively. Right here, Cassie said that Chris is the
submissive one in the marriage. Shenana decided not to push

(16:23):
Chris on the matter. Shenan set up a trip to
Aspen for the weekend after Scottsdale so that she and
Chris could have some us time and look at those words.
Shenan decided not to push Chris on the matter. From
Shenan's perspective, this was a fatal mistake. Well, I'm not
going to take it further than that, even though there's

(16:44):
plenty more analysis that I have dealt with. But I'll
put a link to that Patreon post in the description
because what's also missing from all this During the hours
he was alone with his parents, what did they talk about?
Thank you for listening, and I'll see you guys next time.
