Rooted in Purpose and Clean Beauty
Joanne sits down with Lindsay Dahl—author, activist, and Chief Impact Officer at Ritual—for a heartfelt conversation about what it means to truly care for ourselves and the planet. From her early days in Minnesota to her current life in California, Lindsay has helped shape the clean beauty movement from the inside out. Together, they explore the ripple effects small brands like Innersense™ can have when guided by integrity and soul.
Clearing the Air Around Wellness
Lindsay shares what inspired her to write Cleaning House—a book born from her desire to clear up confusion and fear in the world of health and wellness. She introduces the three mindsets she sees shaping the conversation today—Perfectionists, Dismissers, and her favorite, Team Pragmatists—and invites you to consider where you land. It’s a call to return to calm, clarity, and science-rooted wisdom in a world that often feels too loud.
Wisdom, Wholeness, and the Will to Act
In this nurturing exchange, Lindsay reflects on the power of listening to your body and trusting your own rhythms. She offers gentle, empowering advice on how to lighten your toxic load, live with more intention, and take meaningful action without losing your sense of self. You’ll walk away feeling more grounded, more aware, and more ready to move through the world with heart.
Lindsay Dahl is the Chief Impact Officer at Ritual, a traceable supplement brand and a 20-year environmental health advocate. She was the Head of Mission at Beautycounter for nearly 8 years leading safety, sustainability, advocacy, and responsible sourcing for the clean beauty pioneer. With deep state and federal policy experience, Lindsay was the Deputy Director of Safer Chemicals, Health Families coalition, in addition to leading state policy work on toxic chemical pollution in Minnesota. Over her career, she has helped pass over 30 state and federal laws on toxic chemicals in consumer products. She is the author of a book called Cleaning House: The Fight to Rid our Homes from Toxic Chemicals.
