(00:00):
As we move on from Pippin, who has seen the light,

(00:04):
we see a young Githtera Bard with a head full of secrets,
trying to live his life of peace, looking to expand his horizons.
This week on We Together, Crash and the Sins of the Past.

(00:44):
We Together is now live on.
Alright, are you ready?
I think so.
Alright, so setting the scene.
The first thing that anyone would notice about this place would be the smell.
It's not particularly bad, but it's definitely not good.

(01:06):
As the smell of sweat and of cigarette smoke and of spilled beer on a sticky floor
reverberates to the room as the sounds of a band rocking the house to a packed wormhole,
a club nestled in the south side of the block, the third level of Iris Luna.

(01:33):
Now the south side has a pretty bad reputation as being a run down area of town,
the farthest away from the sky rise towards the outer ring that surrounds the city.
The buildings are a little bit more dilapidated.
The people are a little bit more worn and run down,
but that does not mean the spirit of south side is dead.

(01:57):
And in the wormhole, it is being brought to life by a band playing heavy punk music on the stage
with their front man, the enigmatic Crash, just finishing the last song of the set.

(02:18):
Now, let's just have like a moment here where you describe what Crash looks like,
what he's feeling and then coming off the stage.
So Crash is pretty average size, like humanoid size.

(02:42):
He's like 5'10", 165 pounds.
He's gift terra, so he's got like yellowish green skin and some like markings,
like on his arms and his hands, you can kind of see more natural looking markings

(03:03):
and then mixed in are less natural, like straight up tattoos that he's got in and things like that.
It's a mix of markings on him that doesn't really look aesthetically pleasing,
but it's not for the aesthetic.
Kind of like a memory?
Yeah, yeah, like he's got a lot of, he's got his natural markings just from his race

(03:29):
and that have grown over time and then tattoos that are like some of them have like the markings worked into them.
But like some of the artists, which are like most likely just like his friends or whatever.
I'm having an apprenticeship. I need 10 hours.
Or even like somebody's like, hey, I found a tattoo machine over here.
Who wants to get tattooed? And he's just like, yeah, I don't care.

(03:53):
Like random tattoos and stuff like that.
But each one, some of them are super shitty, some of them don't make any sense,
but each one holds a memory to him and that's what's important.
He is wearing a black leather jacket.
He's got like some metal studs in it, some like stitched on patches,

(04:18):
kind of a collar that sits a little bit higher.
It's like a battle jacket.
It's just like it's been it's gotten dirty so many times that like some of the filth is just a part of it now.
It's got like so many patches and stitched up places that it's stronger than it was to begin with.

(04:39):
Elbows frayed.
Yeah, but what patched too.
So there's just like every like every piece is like double like enforced.
But because it's just so much shit has been like stitched onto the jacket over time.
Yeah, he's got pants that look similar.
They're not like patches of like bands and like patches that say things or whatever.

(05:04):
But like you can see his pants.
He's had the same pants for a long time.
Black boots that he's had for a long time.
Very worn in everything he everything he has is pretty like you can tell he's had it for a long time.
And he's been trying to upkeep and hold on to the same things for a long time.
And after his band finishes the set, his band, I've been struggling with the name to think of it, but it just came to me.

(05:37):
His band is going to be the Test Dummies.
So literally as you're getting ready to get off stage, someone in the crowd just goes, who are you?
It's like.
Thanks everyone for coming out to the Worm tonight.
We're the Test Dummies.
We hope you had a fucking terrible time.

(06:01):
Crowd screaming.
This is a very rowdy crowd.
Just glasses breaking on the wall.
More music coming up.
Be sure to get some more drinks in you.
And he starts to walk off stage.
Clap and it's commonplace for your band to be the one that breaks down everything.
So they start doing that as you get off stage, your trusty guitar that you've had for as long as you can frickin remember.

(06:28):
You sling it on your back.
I imagine you don't go really anywhere without this guitar because it is the source of your abilities, but also means a lot to you personally.
So you kind of take it around with you.
You're never really seen without it.
As you get off.
It's pretty much the one thing that he always carries around with him.
He doesn't have much or like really when he does have things, he is careless with them most of the time.

(06:55):
But the guitar is the one thing that he always has.
That he's always carrying.
And he's quite even though he cherishes that he's quite careless with the guitar as well.
Oh, yeah, it's always like banging in the shit like he doesn't he doesn't like actually care about it as far as like a material thing.
If it gets damaged, he'll like he's like, I'll figure out a way to fix it or whatever.

(07:16):
Being gift to Rob, just having more of a mechanically inclined nature.
It's probably something you do often.
And then the guitar, because when we generate when I generated this, I was very pleasantly surprised at like how it came out.
But it's basically like a white Addison, which is our version of what would be like a Gibson guitar.

(07:40):
It's an Addison Les Moll and it is white covered in black tape as it's being held together, covered in scratches and cracks and anything you can imagine.
And just spray painted onto the front is the words burn the money.
Which I find rather paradoxical as Mr. Boot, the owner of the wormhole comes up to you.

(08:12):
And this is a firbolg.
So he is a towering man, but a very peaceful man.
Everyone knows not to make Mr. Boot angry or becomes Brick Boot.
And nobody wants to see that.
But for the most part, he's a very chill guy who just runs this bar and you see him crash.

(08:35):
That was a good, good set as he swipes slowly to you as you see 50 micros appear in your in your bank account, which is good because you literally had zero.
Thanks Bricks. You know, I don't do it for the money though.

(08:56):
Yeah, yeah, go ahead and burn it or whatever.
And she turns around and like slowly starts walking away.
Just as you are kind of like getting your bearings you sit down.
There's a beer already sitting on the side table for you just because part of your writers just have a cold beer in the back.
As soon as you pop it and take that first sip, your Neuralink starts ringing. Someone's calling you and it's an unknown number.

(09:29):
I'll swipe to pick it up.
You guys crashed.
Wait, what? Are you there?
Yeah. Yeah, I might.
Is it a... is that Rucker?
As you hear his voice, you recognize beyond a doubt.
This is the fixer that you've been using to make a little extra side cash.

(09:53):
A man named Rucker. Half-orc.
Ruck's perfect timing. He's just talking about money.
You know that's all I think about, man.
What are you doing? You up for a job?
Look at how much is left of my beer.
Probably like an up for a...

(10:14):
I did have plans. Yeah, I did have plans, but what you got for me?
It's not safe to talk over this line. Can I meet you somewhere?
Yeah. Usual place?
Yeah. Where's that?
I'll send it to you.

(10:36):
Alright, yeah, send me the nav point. Yeah, thanks, man.
Alright, alright, mate.
Rucker's not the smartest.
Shaking his head and finishing his beer.
Finishes his beer.
Am I in a green room or something?

(10:58):
Yeah, it's a green room, air quotes heavy, but it's just a fucking part of the kitchen that got destroyed and it's just not even fixed.
This is another room. Yeah, they couldn't use it for anything, so they threw like a couple couches and a table in there.
And then they were like, yeah, this is the band's special little area.
Just like rats and shit running around.

(11:21):
Yep, big ones. The block has some pretty big fucking rats.
Alright, send in the nav point. Where are you sending it to?
Yeah, I was going to say, so I don't know really where our usual spot would be, but wherever it'd probably be like a midway point or something like that between.

(11:47):
Well, actually, it'd probably be wherever Rucker previously was like, yeah, meet me here.
Okay.
That would be a restaurant.
It's a restaurant on the south side that is known to be a haven for gang activity, but that also makes it a little bit safer for people to talk about things that maybe the union or the free agency wouldn't want you to be talking about.

(12:11):
Yeah, it's a restaurant called Ali's.
You send the nav point.
Yeah, yeah.
You get a text back on your interface that's just a thumbs up emoji con.
Yes, I did just mix those words together because I'm not fucking with any copyrighted shit. That's the that's because that's what they're called here.

(12:34):
Emoji cops.
As you put out your cigarette or finish your beer.
What is the restaurant called?
Ali's.
Oh, yes.
You send up and are you going to obey there or are you going to walk it's within walking distance just takes like maybe like 45 minutes to an hour.

(13:01):
Yeah, I'll walk. He didn't really give me any sense of urgency or tell me to when to meet him so true crash usually prefers to walk.
Hell yeah. As you're walking outside, I'll just give you a scene of the block, because this city is considered the city of 1000 cities.
It is the level of Iris Luna that is the most diverse, the most the biggest divide between rich and poor, all living together in this one mushed up fucked up soup.

(13:37):
And as you step outside and look up the the block is perpetually in a state of overcast, because in between each of the floors of Iris Luna, there's at least a mile and a half of of airspace.
So you don't really see the upper floors because it's so far up. So what you do see is this very cloudy atmosphere that has settled on top of the block, due to the pollution coming from the lower floors, and the artificial atmosphere from the upper two floors kind of pushing down on it

(14:14):
has created this almost pet like almost impossible constant overcast, where when you look up the only lights you see in the sky are the lights of the floor above you on the bottom so you'd see a couple of blinking lights in the sky.
But that's what we call stars up here and as someone who was born on the lower levels of Iris Luna, it does seem to have its own mystical beauty to you. As you step into the night.

(14:45):
You, the air is kind of cool and crisp. The nighttime always kind of sits around to 60 degrees. Perfect for a walk, and the streets are full of people even though it's close to 930 at night, the streets are completely full, as the block truly is the city that never sleeps.
As you make your way through the south side. Again, the buildings being slightly torn down the people being slightly torn down, you notice, it's a haven for all kinds of illicit activity, you see drug deals you see prostitution you see all kinds of just big city shit going on

(15:26):
and for a little bit, just for a moment crash looks at all the dirt and the grime. And he fucking loves it. As he makes his way through to the restaurant, known as Ollie's.
As you approach, you notice that the entire back of the restaurant is completely covered in plastic. As it appears something has blown the entire back of the restaurant off, and you just see standing with the plastic pulled slightly to the side.

(15:57):
One of the cooks, smoking a cigarette, just like blowing it out the plastic. As you approach. He kind of looks at you, rolls his eyes, puts his cigarette out, flicks it and closes the plastic to go back into the restaurant.

(16:20):
You going inside. Yeah, I'll look. I'm gonna look at a cigarette that he flicked and like tamp it out.
Your boot crushes it against the asphalt.
It's like crashes like wait, is it did this place burned down and then someone's just tossing a cigarette. What the hell is going on.

(16:43):
Yeah, and then I'll peer into the plastic as I make my way in.
As you appear into the plastic, that is like the back half of the restaurant. So you see the kitchen and the cook look at you like, hey, what are you doing? The entrances around there.
Sorry, couldn't tell.

(17:05):
Fucking A. What happened here?
You didn't hear?
I usually don't.
Some fucking crazy FAA agents blew the shit out of the back of my fucking restaurant.
Oh, yeah.
What were they doing chasing some kind of big crime?

(17:27):
I don't fucking know. One second I'm flipping burgers. The next second I'm pulling Trapno out of my skull.
Wow. You all right. Did you get that taken care of?
For a second, the cook kind of looks at you very like almost caught off guard. But then like you see his defenses come back up.
Go fuck yourself. And he like turns around and keeps flipping burgers.

(17:54):
As you walk around to the front of the restaurant, walk into the entrance. It is a is it like a diner. It's dirty. The floor used to be like checker white and black.
But now the white parts are like a weird brown color. And sitting at one of the booths in the far back, you see the large dominating presence that is your boy Rucker.

(18:15):
As he's just kind of sitting there looking at his beer, like touching the top of it. And you just see like this hard puck moving up and down on the top of his beard.
He's just like, fuck, what do we mean here? Hey, yo, Crash.
There he is. Big man. Yes. How are you?
He stands up and like kind of embraces Crash in like a hug, which is kind of anyone who knows Crash and like really knows Crash.

(18:42):
They hug it out. Crash really like enjoys the hug.
Like a hug from a man of his size. Crash really like nuzzles into him for a second during the hug.
You hear from behind the counter, get out room.
You shut the fuck up, man. Shut the fuck up. Rucker kind of looks at you just like smiles and sits down.

(19:03):
It's good to see you again, man. How you been? Yeah, been all right, man.
You know, hanging out the worm, doing my thing. What's happy to hear from you?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got a I got a big job for you. It's it's it's big. This could be this could be it.
Man, this could be it could get you off this rock.
I mean, you serious? Serious, dead serious.

(19:29):
It's a little under the table, if you know what I mean.
All right. Yeah, no big deal. Good.
Because, you know, I don't really I don't really like the posh crownies that come down here and pretend like they own the place, but they do pay good.

(19:50):
Ah, yeah. Yeah. All right. So.
What kind of, you know, above the clouds shit we talking here?
Well, my friend, this is actually perfect for you because it's one of those gift types that only works with other gifts.
So when I heard that, I knew the man to call.

(20:17):
All right. You got any more details?
Oh, yeah. Just wait till you hear what they're paying.
Five hundred units, five max.
Yeah, yeah. And get this. All you have to do.
All you have to do is meet with the meet with the head guy and guide him through the block.

(20:43):
That's all he wants.
The head guy. Yeah, yeah, I didn't meet him.
I only talked to his assistant chick person.
What do you head of?
I don't really know. As you know, in this business, asking questions can get you collateral.

(21:04):
Yeah. You know, I like to know information, though.
It's true. But for a fucking five max crash.
I mean, I'll take my 10 percent, but the rest goes to you, man.
All right. Not bad. Who do you talk to this assistant?
Well, who were they? Well, it was kind of weird.

(21:26):
They found me and. You know, I am gaining kind of a reputation as a big fixer in the South Side, so, you know.
But apparently this head honcho guy, he's not supposed to be here right now.
In fact, there are some union officials who are probably looking for him.
So he needs guide from the spaceport to the sky rise.

(21:52):
So by guide, you mean protection?
Well, they didn't say that specifically.
And honestly, if you would have seen this chick, man, I don't think that you're going to need to do much protection.
She looks jacked.
She'd probably give me a run for her money.
All right. So what's the offer then?

(22:15):
Five hundred max. But do I get in contact with them?
Do I have to meet them somewhere? I mean, he swipes his fingers at you and there's a contact information that pops up and he says they basically
they're kind of how do I put this without offending you and being racist?
They're very gift like and they want to make sure you're worthy.

(22:40):
That was what their words, not mine. Great.
Yeah. Yeah, it seems weird. But hey, for that kind of unit, I would kill my grandmother. Sorry, grandma.
They found you. Yeah. Did they ask for me?
They asked me if I had any gifts in my employ.

(23:05):
And you're the only one I got, baby.
I do know that.
All right. Well, thanks, Rock.
You know, I'll let you know how it goes.
Perfect. I already told them you would accept and there's a car waiting outside for you.

(23:26):
Just a reluctant thumbs up.
Amen.
Thank you, mate. So much. Thanks.
Oh, yeah. Oh, crash. I know this isn't really your thing.
He kind of looks around. He pulls out a Titan M050 pistol,
puts it on the table underneath like a newspaper thing.

(23:51):
It's like synthetic paper. So it's not even real paper.
It's just like as he like slides it across the table, just in case.
I mean, what do you think is going to happen?
You know, I don't know, man, but it's the South Side. Anything could happen.
Hey, it's up to you. You take it.

(24:14):
All right.
I'll I'll reluctantly grab the paper and I can like wrap the wrap it up in the paper and like stuff it in my bag.
Oh, yeah, mate. Good luck. He stands up and like swipes at Tom.
Or sorry, the cook to be named as user.

(24:36):
Hey, man, thanks for the
cup or whatever that was. And he like starts to walk out of the
the diner. Oh, crash.
Yeah, right.
Remember, these are rich types, so
keep the South Side of you just a little, you know, muted.

(25:01):
Yeah, I got it. All right.
He walks up and
waving behind him.
Hey, you got a fucking order something or you leave it.
Sorry.
I mean, I got a lot of customers today. There's no. Yeah, yeah. I take a look around. Yeah, it looks it's bad.

(25:24):
I bet you're really overwhelmed today. You know, good for you for working hard nonetheless.
And I'm going to swipe to 10. What do I have?
My 10 micros to him. Hey, thanks for the tip.
Come back next time.
All right.
Let's just walk out as you walk out the door.

(25:48):
It is immediately obvious to you. The car that is awaiting you.
As you look around all the cars in the South Side are fucking just
a glazier mushroom gas guzzling fucking beasts.
But you see a slick white limousine,

(26:09):
which looks kind of like, you know, the cyber truck.
Yeah. Imagine that but extended into a limousine and pearlescent white
as a gift woman steps out of the car
and opens the door. Now, this woman, she's about six to I don't have portraits.

(26:31):
I can't get the stupid thing to make a gift right now, but she's about six to
and she's covered from neck to to wrist
and just the craziest most intricate tattoos you've ever seen.
And her markings kind of give her away immediately as a gift rack.

(26:52):
As she looks at you and kind of like furrows her brow and then stands with her
hands clasped like a bodyguard waiting for you to approach.
I walk up and I go.
Looking great.
Just walk right past her and start looking at the body contours of the limousine.

(27:18):
Haven't seen very many like this down here.
This thing's impressive.
And I just quickly I like
just like energetically walk up to her.
Crash. Nice to meet you.
Hold my hand out for a handshake.
She looks at your hand, looks back at you.

(27:42):
Get in the car.
Just kind of like look faster and like peer into the car.
Normal perception.
Yeah. What is waiting in there?
19.

(28:03):
Hell yeah. As you look in, it's an empty limousine, except for there's a like a very packed mini bar and sitting on top of the mini bar is Crash's face.
Crash's favorite alcohol, whatever that is.
Whatever that thing is that I would definitely have to think of at a later date.
Yeah.

(28:24):
And no one's in there.
No one.
Self driving car.
I look I look up at her.
Just with like a bowing at you.
All right.
I slowly get in.
I slowly get in. I instantly look through the mini bar.

(28:47):
I.
I'm going to roll to see how bad he wants to go for that bottle.
Instead of a different.
I think he's going to go for it.
I mean, is it expensive? No.

(29:11):
Because Crash might be a might be a poor boy at heart.
But I mean, that top shelf liquor is hard to find and it tastes.
Yeah.
The taste does match.
It's I'd say it's like a synthetic vodka.
It's something that is just it's not necessarily expensive, but like it depends where you go because it's a vodka that's really smooth.

(29:35):
It doesn't have like a bite to it.
He likes to drink it straight and he often likes to drink a lot of it.
And he so it depends if you go somewhere like more bougie, they might charge more for it because it's like a very smooth, non harsh vodka.
But it's also like something that they have at the worm.

(29:58):
Hell, yeah.
So immediately the bottles there and as the woman gets into the car behind you, she reaches for like one of the glasses to like kind of like offer it to you.
I feel like crash just like pops the top.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Pop the top off and take a swig.

(30:19):
She just kind of gives you a disapproving look and puts it back.
Now, you growing up would understand in Iris Luna racism isn't really a thing. Classism.
Yes, but racism.
Nobody judges races by their race, really, except for satyrs.
But that's a different story.

(30:40):
Gith, however, have a lot of inter species racism, where Githra and get Tara tend to not get along. However, those are the official, like, like, like the embassy of the get like they fight.
There are gifts in Iris Luna who don't give a fuck. They don't. They're not a part of it at all. But there are they, you know, if you're gift Tara, and you're with a gift rack. That's kind of what's happening because you can see she has as she like rolls up her sleeves to like clean up some of the garbage that you've made her tattoos are intertwined with scars all up and down her arms.

(31:25):
The car starts moving.
So, anyway,
I'd love to hear a little about you.
What could a weakling like you know about me.
Nothing really that's why I'm like to know more. That's what I like that you to tell me a little bit you know how do you get those scars.

(31:52):
I'm like, holy, I'm saying fucking kind of looks at them starts rolling down her sleeve to cover them up.
Battle.
Tough times.
I'm one of the lucky ones. I never really had to do too much too much battling.

(32:14):
I don't think anyone's really called me a perfect form, but quite some time ever really that's interesting. Thanks.
Take another was not a compliment. Oh, well, nonetheless,
you are lucky almost.
You are lucky almost.
Yes.
Was not a compliment. Oh, well, nonetheless, you are lucky.

(32:45):
We have need of your services.
Who is we, by the way, you know, who I was told your soda the voice for someone ambassador of someone who represents something larger.
I am his life mate.

(33:10):
Wow, that's beautiful. That's.
Yeah, wow.
Keep doing that and it's just feel like you're making more of a mess.
You're just spitting it on the ground.
She's just kind of giving you this like serious look as like you guys are pulling through.

(33:33):
It's not like the drive from Ali's to the spaceport is rather short like an hour drive I mean short in terms of Iris Luna, which is the block which is 120 miles circumference.
So, so that's a long. All right. Yeah, yeah.
But as you guys like pull up to the spaceport entrance which is the ring that surrounds the city, the spaceport entrance and the mag train like stations all exist inside the ring, like this big wall but also like houses things and the spaceport is

(34:09):
directly outside of like the ring, and most 99% of it is indoors, so you don't like have to wear a spacesuit or anything. But then when you go to get on your ships usually like you have to, you know, put on a spacesuit to go and crash would know this from
his mining expeditions that he's done before. But as you approach the spaceport door, you notice that there's a contingency of like union and and everything kind of like patrolling and purposely avoiding that the car turns down like a darker alley, and then

(34:47):
you're in this in this like really dark just alleyway.
This is rad.
But what are we doing, why are we just in a dark alleyway to see if you are worthy.

(35:15):
Okay, so what would you like me to do.
The car door opens.
Yeah, but there's a lot of this, you know, quite a bit of friction out there if you know what I mean.

(35:36):
She crashed. Go ahead. I would say crash crash like reaches into one of his jacket pockets, to see if he's holding. He has any like pills or anything on him.
I still have to yet to name the drugs.
Here, let's do, let's do this. Let's do this. I spent fucking countless hours setting up a GBT.
Let's fucking let's go to work. What kind of what kind of drug do you want.

(36:02):
I don't know. I was just seeing a powder a pill, or like a inhale a pills pill.
Yeah, that would most likely is what he has in his pocket or something.

(36:23):
What I would say the spelling spelling increases your.
Let's say it let's say increases your intelligence.
I was gonna say intelligence or charisma.
I feel like he's your charisma, like in something that he just like something that he has on him. Currently, like that would just make the most sense after the show.

(36:54):
Probably, if any.
This is how drugs work in our Luna. They will give you a bonus.
But they also after their time period is out that bonus is negative. So so if it gives you plus one charisma for an hour. After that hour, you have minus one charisma until you either take more of the drug, or a long rest.

(37:20):
Sounds good.
So this pill is called Charmine.
It is a small iridescent pill with a shimmering surface, reflecting colors of pink and silver is embossed with a star symbol on the side.
Frequent use of Carmine can lead to addiction. Each time you use charm charm mine.

(37:44):
I'm just gonna call it Carmine but spell with a CH. Make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw on failure you become addicted addiction causes permanent minus one penalty to charisma until you overcome
that period through a period of detox. So essentially, essentially and the DC is low. It's a DC fucking 12. 12. I might even I might even make it a DC 10. And then we'll kind of ramp it up the more you take.

(38:09):
I'm gonna say that like that. That kind of makes sense have it low but then the more you use it.
Let's start at eight. Let's start at an eight. I think that that is that's balanced. And then, essentially that negative one penalty only applies if you are addicted to the to the drug, like, like the permanent negative one.

(38:32):
So essentially, you have a way to buff your stats any stats you want because I'm gonna make drugs for all of them. Any stats you want you can buff them, but you have a chance to become addicted to them, which the only way to overcome the addiction is either to deal with
that minus one or to take more drugs to overcome that. So that is a very I think good way to reflect addiction. I was gonna say that too and like, yeah, that can that can.

(38:57):
Because it, it puts a distinction in our game between use and abuse. Yes.
And you are holding one left.
Oh, yeah, so what, what.
So what is it.

(39:19):
I'm supposed to do.
Exit the vehicle.
Okay, and then what.
I will lead you to him.
Okay, that sounds fantastic.
Fantastic.
Take one more sway.
Actually, I'll pop the car mine and with a swig of the vodka again, I'll leave it there, not going to take away. Okay, here are the effects of car mine.

(39:52):
You get euphoria, a pronounced feeling of happiness and well being, increase sociability, confidence boost, rapid speech, enhanced perception, not mechanically just as far as like yourself, and physical sensations.
So increased heart rate mild warmth and tingling in the limbs. So basically it's Molly.

(40:13):
Cool.
So basically, what it is. So, as you like feel it kind of hit your stomach, it works pretty quick drugs and I was Luna they're engineered to be almost damn near instant. So you start to feel the effects right away.
As you exit the car. There's a very like just run down boarded up building standing in front of you. And as the woman exits the car she closes the door behind you and kind of like nods towards that building.

(40:43):
I'll just start heading that way.
As you get to the door, you notice that the door looks like somebody like it's almost like a new door on an old building and the door looks like reinforced to shit.
Okay, she walks up to it she knocks once waits, like for like five seconds knocks again, then wakes for another 10 seconds and then knocks again, and the door opens.

(41:09):
Come. As you guys walk through the house. You notice that there are gifts to get rack everywhere. They are all starting to look at you and kind of like question you and like they're they're all giving you that like same look that the woman was giving you.
But the halls of this house are much better than the outside of what this house looks like it looks like someone renovated the inside of this building, so that it was much more comfortable, but the outside is meant to look like shit on purpose.

(41:40):
Yep, as you make your way through, there's a set of stairs you make your way up the stairs into this main room where it's very large room, very empty, except for a chair that could only be called a throne in its size and sitting in that chair is a gift rack man who is like literally

(42:03):
your if you can imagine what a like hulking gift yank or I'm sorry, get yet get rack would look like he is almost six foot five. His muscles are peeking through his shirt he's wearing light armor, as well as like, you can see from literally you know those people who get tattoos, just

(42:25):
like a line. It's literally from his neck down, and you can see on it, there's tattoos of gifts killing each other, all over his body.
As you enter the room, he kind of gives you this like very like steely I look, and he looks to the woman and goes.

(42:47):
And then he just nods and closes the door behind her. There's a single metal chairs sitting in front of the man.
Come, so crash knows crash knows different gifts.
You know, pretty well.
So he's putting on hit, you know, he's sort of like putting on a show of confidence a little more.

(43:13):
He.
He knows that that's more respected than him trying to come in here and like sweet talk, like he normally would. So he's got knowing the situation he's got like more he's walking with his chest puffed out a little bit like those guys that are grilling
him he's grilling him right back.
And, yeah, I will.

(43:39):
I'll just walk very slow, like, not slowly but calmly up to the metal chair.
I'm going to scoot it back like three inches just so it goes like on the ground a little bit.
And then sit and sit down and not break eye contact.
You are.

(44:01):
Yes.
Where are your battle markings.
Well, most of them unseen.
Not all.
And I'll like lift up all up in my jacket and lift up my shirt, a little bit to reveal some scars on my stomach.

(44:29):
Like lacerations could be like knife wounds.
Tattoos.
Yeah, he would see tattoos yeah as well.
I'll yeah I'll kind of pull down my shirt a little bit too to show another scar, like a circular scar next to the criminal see tattoo.

(44:58):
You are.
Gifts Tara.
Yet.
You are a warrior.
I respect that.
He stands like in like a towering like just this man is fucking just massive in personality, as well as size, so he just fills a room as he takes a couple steps down.

(45:26):
You.
Do you have memory of me.
I stay seated as he stands.
Memories not too good.

(45:56):
Normal history.
Yeah.
Flash looks like he's kind of like eyeing him, looking, putting on a face like really trying to think hard.

(46:18):
That is a 15.
You have a flash in every time this happens to you.
It's like a fucking worm is eating its way through your brain.
Every time you have one of these flashes.
As you kind of like are looking at him you hear this high pitch ringing in your ears. As you start to like, see him, but younger, and you feel this intense burning hatred.

(46:49):
You don't know why you don't know what, like when that's all the memory tells you.
Your nose starts to bleed a little bit.
He's now like standing within five feet of you he's like in front of you looking down at you.
I wipe my nose.

(47:11):
I stand up as to meet him as much as I can.
Being a bit smaller than him.
I look at him.
You look familiar.
Been a long time, hasn't it?

(47:32):
It has.
I have been searching for you for many years.
Well,
any chance you're gonna explain why.

(47:54):
He looks at you kind of confused and
you do not remember.
So all I can remember about him.
I can like picture him but younger.
And I get that weird ringing in my ears.
Does that does that ringing in my ears like mean anything to me.

(48:19):
I mean, for the last.
I mean, I'm not sure if that's the feeling that I've had before.
But every time you have these feelings it's always like something useless like you'll be walking by a street corner.
And then all of a sudden you'll see that street corner like from a couple years ago.
And like that's all that happens and it's annoying because your nose bleeds and it fucking hurts every time.

(48:41):
Probably the reason you do drugs all the time.
I'm not advocating because that's fucking annoying.
I'm going to.
I'm gonna.
As I stand.
I'm going to light one of my cigarettes.

(49:02):
And it's a crash the cigarettes are like his own blend.
And he doesn't have cigarettes often he only rolls them for himself when he has the stuff to roll them because he doesn't like smoking any other kind of cigarettes.
He doesn't like the smell of like bush and whatever.
I don't know if it's just tobacco or whatever the iris equivalent would be.

(49:26):
The just for people at home.
Bramble bush is weed cannabis marijuana.
But we call it bramble bush because our first campaign that's what we coined it and it's been going ever since.
Yeah.
So it but.
He just takes it out and lights it.
He like offers it to this gentleman.

(49:51):
Drag.
Roll persuasion.
And don't forget you get to add plus one because you're on drugs.
Yeah. This is also like crashes little almost like tests that he does when he meets certain people of like.
To see how they react to this sort of like.

(50:17):
I don't know.
Like a like a.
When you smoke it you know right away that it's not just a cigarette.
So he likes to see how people react like if they're just like what the hell did you give me or if they square cool or yeah.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
Well persuasion persuasion is.

(50:41):
Eighteen and you added your plus one.
Yes that's what the plus one.
The man looks at you.
His eyes like wide in his eyebrows like curling down as he reaches up grabs the cigarette puts it between his lips.
And just kills the entire thing just fucking inhales the entire thing and then blows it all out from his nose which shoots downward in this massive cloud underneath him as he looks at the but flicks it.

(51:18):
Weak.
Big smile comes across crashes face does that did that interaction give me anything more.
You want to roll insight.
Yeah, I'll give you advantage because you set it up.
No.
No.

(51:41):
Oh.
Oh.
Oh, dirty 20.
Oh, early 19.
So, so, as you're looking at him, you can tell.
Through it all.

(52:03):
This man is looking at you as an equal, or at least at least, you know, someone who's like standing with him, and that is strange for a gift rack gift to our relationship so like, is it giving the vibe of like, like seeing someone and they get that you know it's like, you son of a bitch I haven't seen you in years and they act all angry at each other but then like, really, they're.

(52:32):
I don't want to say friends, but I would say kind of but it does have a sting of like something wrong here, like there's like a little bit of something off.
Now that we have done your drugs.
Business.
Yes.

(52:53):
Didn't mean no offense, you know, just peace offering.
Been a long time.
It is a paradox for you to offer peace without returning it to me.
I truly apologize for

(53:20):
the inability to remember.
Exactly where we've met before. It has been a long time I do know that you do look familiar. I know that
we were closer, and I can remember for sure.
And that I did something to hurt you, or took something, I don't know but I do apologize.

(53:47):
Tearing his teeth at this point.
That I can't remember.
But
I have a feeling. Do I know anything.
Do I know anything about Varick's past before

(54:10):
level five.
Varick has always been very close to the chest about his past, everything you know about Varick you learned like as your relationship move forward.
And he never really asked because he was a nice guy you know he was helping you out like people don't do that on the fifth level. So like it just was easy not to question.

(54:34):
Right.
Well,
I do apologize for that and I apologize.
Your apologies mean nothing.
He screamed like it like echoes throughout the entire house.
Your hair flaps a little bit in the wind.

(54:57):
I
I say well, yes. All right.
It's very apparent.
I owe you something.
What is it that you're looking to be returned.
I have searched

(55:22):
every crack of this godforsaken city.
Looking for you again.
Where is the stone.
Stone.
Right.

(55:44):
Oh, that old thing.
You know,
been a while since I've seen it really even
does a 18 hit.
Yes, it absolutely does.
He's going to can I cold clock you in the face.
And it hurts. It's hard to the point where you stumble backward into the chair.

(56:10):
You're going to take
six points of damage.
Points of bludgeoning.
Oh, my God.
Your off feels like it's unhinged right now.
Yeah, I stumble back and like I'm wobbly.
But crash.
Oh, crash above most anything else.

(56:33):
It tries to save face.
So he is trying. He's giving it everything he can to stay standing.
Yeah. Well, con save.
I'll give you that.
Okay.
That's not that's not a good thing for
with your minus one con.
I rolled a three minus one.

(56:56):
You're trying so hard.
Everything is spinning.
You have a concussion like it is.
You are fucking rocked.
Is there anything around me to like steady myself on?
I like I'm going down at least one knee.
But yeah, I'm I'm I'm down on my knees and I grab the chair to steady myself.
It rocks me.

(57:17):
Look how weak you've become.
Very sharp.
I get myself up and I glare at it.
Um, I am going to.
Oh, boy. Oh, boy.

(57:39):
He got think he got think.
Go think in it.
All right.
Uh, I'm going to stand up and I'm glaring at him and.
I.
I'm going to look at him and reach back and place my hand on my guitar.

(58:07):
And I say.
I spit the blood out of my mouth.
Well.
I never forget a fist.
Crack my neck.
It has been a long time.

(58:29):
And I'm going to be honest, I don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
But.
If it means that fucking much to you.
And I'm going to use anarchy scream.
And scream at him.
Uh.

(58:52):
I'm going to scream at him.
That should be like.
The stone doesn't mean enough to me for this to be an important enough conversation.
So either you tell me why I'm here because I can't remember based on all the concussions.

(59:18):
Thank you very much.
What the fuck you're talking about.
And I'm using anarchy scream as I'm.
Uh.
Sending a disruptive wave of energy towards him.
Uh.
The unrestrained power of your voice embodying the spirit of anarchy and punk rebellion to deliver a powerful thunderous blow.

(59:44):
This it.
Like like I was saying, this isn't something that crash uses very often, but this is like.
A.
This is the situation that tips him.
Almost or gets him right on the edge of pacifism where he's like, is it worth it to.
Cause violence and he's been trying to be persuasive, trying to, you know, and explain, but this guy is not letting it get through.

(01:00:11):
And so he's like, fuck him.
So this guy takes, uh.
Does does the drug boost my charisma modifier plus one.
You like you.
So basically how I've kind of as we've been playing, I've been kind of balancing it in my head.
Okay. Yeah.
You get plus one to any roles involving charisma.

(01:00:34):
So basically since this is a attack, you would normally roll dice, but we do max damage so we don't make you so you can add plus one to any attack that uses your charisma based modifier.
Modifier.
Okay. Okay.
So like the, the, this has eight points of thunder damage plus credit charisma modifier.
Plus one because he's taken the car mine.

(01:00:55):
So instead of a normal plus two, it'd be a plus three.
So 11 points of damage.
So you see the, as you're like, as you start screaming, you don't bear your gift.
Tara fangs often, but they are, they are fully buried as you're screaming with your guitar like pulled in front of you.
And you see the ears of this gift just start bleeding as he's looking at you wildly with a smile in his face.

(01:01:25):
He's in some fights. Finally, tell me where it is. And he just like starts charging at you.
God damn.
I will give you a dexterity saving throw.
Okay.

(01:01:52):
You do a fucking, you know, like the fucking rock star slide.
The like, you just like slide to the left and stand up quickly facing him.
I'm going to give you a chance to cast one more spell.
You can keep trying to attack them. You can try and protect yourself. You can do whatever you want.

(01:02:16):
I think I want to cast power cord.
Ooh, what does that do?
So when you cast power cord, you play a bold and inspiring riff on your guitar that fills you with a commanding presence.
The spell enhances your confidence and charm, making you more persuasive in social interaction.

(01:02:39):
So I get a D4, one D4 bonus to charisma checks, including persuasion, deception, and performance.
So I'm going to use this and once again scream at him.
While playing a tasty riff.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Or just a power.

(01:03:00):
Yeah.
After the session zero, I feel like you're going to go and write down like just a bunch of fucking things to yell at people.
Yeah, just the stuff to yell back.
But this is such a specific situation.
Well, taste my rocks.
Taste my rocks.

(01:03:22):
Okay.
I got a rock for you.
Okay. What are my chances of gaining more information here?
Like when he said the full gift to our name, did that give me any clues as to

(01:03:44):
Because it crashes. It crashes somebody like now.
And obviously we're talking about like backstory stuff, but he's somebody who when he meets new people, he wants to find out as much information he can about them.
That almost he had that's almost his like defenses or like his he's like, I know a lot of things about I got dirt on people like that sort of thing.
So hearing that full name, would that give me any would that like remind me or give me a clue towards like what part of that backstory.

(01:04:17):
That's wrong.
A very specific crash only mechanic.
Okay.
Anytime you try and recollect very expressed
the form you are currently inhabiting, I'm going to keep that vague and mysterious for those listening.
You have to roll a history check.

(01:04:40):
Then if the history check yields well, a con save.
So you might recollect information, but if you also might be rendered fucking immobile from the after effects.
So you can try.

(01:05:02):
I can't remember his name right.
Nope. That wasn't in the memory originally.
Right.
But you can try and take very shot and like, you know, put it through your put it through your shit.
Right, right, right.
I'm just going to use power cord.
And as I ring out the cord, I'm going to

(01:05:25):
say to him
for the last time.
I don't remember you or what happened to the stuff to the fucking stone.
Roll persuasion.
You do get an additional plus one before for your power cord spell and you do get an additional plus one.

(01:05:47):
Right. I'm also going to say
I
I don't know what happened to the fucking stone.
But I
it's yours.
If I can help you find it.
Is that persuasion or deception you get to pick that's persuasion.

(01:06:14):
Okay.
So
I'm rolling today. Let's go.
Twenty six.
God.
Damn.

(01:06:39):
Okay.
And crash has his whole trying to hold a tough look on his face, but he's really hurting.
He's just standing there with the guitar like grit in his teeth.
You see the gift man's face kind of like slowly soften

(01:07:01):
as he like uncurls his fists.
You and I together again.
You can tell he's like really pondering something.
Crash is still like grit showing his teeth and like given a tough look.

(01:07:26):
He says together again.
But you've got to help me fill in the blanks.
He starts like walking towards you.
But again, like slowly and just like kind of his his features have fully softened.
And this man does not strike you as the kind of person who like does that for no reason.

(01:07:50):
Even still crash does like trying to hold a tough look.
He can't help himself but take a little step backwards as he this guy comes closer.
The gift man just kind of like looking at you.
The idea it pleases me beyond measure.

(01:08:16):
You are the best of us.
As he like walks like now he's like right up on you and he like embraces you.
And you feel a weird sensation as you feel wetness dripping onto your neck.

(01:08:44):
As like you can like tears are coming out of this gift eyes.
Again, something that is very off putting as far as what you know about this guy right now.
Yeah.
As he's embracing you, you hear him like sigh like full body.

(01:09:09):
If you truly do not remember.
Then you are of no use.
And he starts squeezing you.
You feel this immense pressure coming from all sides as he lifts you up off the floor.
Still squeezing.

(01:09:30):
You try and say something but all that escapes your mouth is a gasp.
As soon as you open your mouth, all of the air from your lungs gets pushed completely out of you.
As you feel this like crazy pressure and all that's racing through your mind right now is fuck.
I'm going to die. I'm going to fucking die.

(01:09:51):
As you feel your ribs start cracking, you can audibly hear them like twigs cracking as he's squeezing.
And then you feel it.
The bone puncture one of your lungs.
Blood spurts out of your mouth onto the back of this man as he keeps squeezing until finally you feel that of your heart just burst in your chest.

(01:10:17):
And the world around you starts fading rapidly into a small point of darkness.
You're falling.
Not in a scary kind of a way.
But in a like a comforting cradling falling through darkness.

(01:10:40):
It's pitch black.
However, not a worry comes through your mind.
Not a care.
In fact, it's probably the best you've felt in years.
As the darkness is carrying you away, a small point of light exists right in front of your eyes.

(01:11:05):
Slowly getting bigger and bigger and bigger until you are now encased in this all white room standing on your own two feet.
You look down at your hands and you see that your skin is gray.

(01:11:27):
You touch your face, your features.
Plane your nose, nonexistent.
You're in your pure form.
For the first time in God knows how long.
And you hear a voice from behind you.

(01:11:49):
Hello there.
As you turn.
You see a miraculously handsome elf man.
Sitting there in white robes.
Swirling a wine glass.
Full of red wine.
As he sips it.

(01:12:12):
You see another glass floating just on nothing.
As it starts to fill with red.
Will you join me?
How far away is he?
How far away does it seem?
In front of you now.
Instantly.
I'm trying to think.
Do I still sound the same?

(01:12:33):
I would say that you can sound however you think Fox sounded.
It can be the same.
It can be slightly different.
But you did grow up with these people.
So I imagine there's some part of it that is similar.
Right, right, right.
Who are you?
Hmm.
You can call me an observer.

(01:12:57):
What is this? Am I dead?
Well.
You very much should be.
However, he takes a sip of the wine.
Offering you the glass again.
This is not the end of your story, Fox.
How do you know?
How do you know that name?

(01:13:19):
Observing.
He clinks the glass.
Yeah, I grabbed the glass.
I grabbed the glass right after it clinks in the air.
As you take a sip, you are filled with this like luscious, just warm feeling.
Like you're being embraced by it.
Well, it was nice meeting you, folks.
But I'm afraid.

(01:13:40):
Death will have to wait.
You have a journey.
What? What?
You see a spot of darkness behind the Elfman.
Slowly growing as it's coming rushing towards you.
And the Elfman just looks completely unbothered.
I'm sure we'll meet again.

(01:14:01):
But until then.
Enjoy.
And he downs the rest of the wine as the darkness overtakes you again.
But this time, you're no longer feel like you're ethereal.
You feel yourself again.
But it's still pitch black.
The only noise you hear is the sound of a medical equipment decompressing.

(01:14:28):
And a faint beep beep beep.
And a woman yell, we've done it.
Holy shit, we did it.
And that is where I'm going to end Session Zero.
