Welcome back or welcome to the Pickle Jar!!

I'm back! Sorry for the long hiatus (again), but we're still rocking and rolling with Season 4 of What's the Dill?!

Today, we are reviewing the NEW Marvel series, Marvel Zombies. This series was created by Zeb Wells, and it brings back some of our favorite Marvel characters to fight in the zombie apocalypse. This series is an expansion of the popular Marvel What If? episode where they introduce the zombie apocalypse universe.

In this episode, we talk about the characters, the plot, and discuss the cliffhanger ending with zombie Wanda's jump scare. I also have a special announcement regarding a full timeline order rewatch of the MCU!

Find the full timeline order list here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OmFa7YqS7fXlqZ78ZDkUqaDWymIoB5d12CDP0VwkztA/edit?usp=sharing

Mackenzie (00:02):
Okay, I hope that worked.
Let's pray.
I really, really hope that thisrecords.
It's been a while since I'vedone this.
Last thing I need right now isfor this to not record.
Hey y'all, welcome back orwelcome to the Pickle Jar.

(00:24):
This is What's the Dill?
I'm your host, MackenziePickle.
Man, that feels good to say.
We're just gonna pretend like Ihaven't been gone for a few
months.
Um, still season four, stillreviewing stuff, still busy as
ever, trying to come out withsome new stuff.
But today I thought I wouldtake some time to review a new

(00:46):
short series that just came out.
If you're a Marvel fan, thenyou know this.
Marvel just recently released ashort series called Marvel
Zombies, and that's what we'regonna be reviewing today.
So, Marvel Zombies, from what Iunderstand, is sort of an
extension from an episode thatcame out in the Marvel What If

(01:07):
series.
And Marvel What If, you know,is all these things that are
literally what if when the wholemultiverse thing came out, it's
like different universes wheredifferent details of certain
stories were changed and thingslike that, and it's what would
have happened if this would havehappened, you know.
And there was a zombies episodethat talked about, you know, a
zombie apocalypse, and it wasvery popular.
There's also a comic.
So Marvel decided to releaseMarvel Zombies, which goes

(01:29):
further into the whole what ifthere was a zombie apocalypse
type of thing.
I just sat down and watched theentire thing.
There's four episodes that areroughly about 30 minutes
a piece, and honestly?
Wow, I'm impressed.
I'm not gonna lie to you, I didnot go into it expecting what I
got, if I'm honest.
No, I didn't think it would bebad.

(01:51):
I liked the what if series.
I never finished it.
It wasn't like, oh my gosh, this is the most amazing thing
ever.
But you know, it was fun, itwas cute.
But holy cow, the storythroughout Marvel Zombies...
It's just four episodes.
That's what keeps amazing me.
The storytelling and thedetails throughout, the flow of
everything is so magnificent tome.

(02:13):
I thought the flow wasincredible, and at the end of
every single episode, I washanging on the edge of my seat.
It was so good.
But I'm just gonna run througheach episode really quickly.
We have some other business totake care of after this review.
So let's dive in, shall we?
Episode one, very first episode, starts out.
I immediately thought YoungAvengers, because we see Kate
Bishop, we've got Riri Williams,we've got Kamala Khan.

(02:35):
Like, these are characters whoare kind of forming the Young
Avengers.
You know, back when all theseseries started happening, people
were piecing together YoungAvengers.
What are they gonna do?
Are they gonna do it this way, this way, this way?
And so it's kind of cool to seeMarvel Zombies start with these
three characters already on ateam together, like defeating
these zombies.
Zombie Hawkeye, love.
And I love that you still havesort of this relationship

(02:58):
between Kate and Hawkeye, eventhough Hawkeye is a zombie, and
he is trying to unalive her.
You can still see the respectthough that she has for him in
the way that she is holding onto this trick arrow in the car,
like that she has a littlemoment.
I do want to say I did love theanimation right out from the
start.
It's similar to what they'vedone already in What If, and I
really I enjoy that animationstyle a lot.

(03:19):
The Friday mention and the TonyStark mention love.
Zombie Carol and Icarusfighting?
That was something; I did notexpect to see Icarus.
I was like, okay, Eternalsmentioned, thankfully, because
they never get mentionedanymore, frankly.
So it was kind of nice to seeat least one eternal.
I have to also talk about thisquote.
When Riri is, you know, tellingFriday to go save Kamala and
Friday goes to return back toRiri.

(03:42):
She says this quote and itgenuinely brought tears to my
eyes.
She says, "I lost my firstowner, I won't lose another."
And she's referring to TonyStark.
And that that ruined me forsure, actually.
Yeah, I was not expecting that, and I did not need that
actually right now.
Also, Blade Knight mentionedhello.
I was losing my mind, okay?

(04:02):
I was so thankful.
He is so cool.
More on that later.
But Yelena and Alexei andMilena all together, stop.
The fam's all back together, except I was missing Natasha.
Like that, that did bring somesadness, but I did like to see
at least some of that familyunit all together.
And then Wanda, you're joking.
Zombie Cap was a really goodlittle like cameo.

(04:22):
I love.
And the fight between him andAlexei, stop.
But I have to say, ZombieGhost, insane.
Hello.
When Ghost came out, I waslosing it.
That was awesome.
It was incredible.
Blade is also iconic.
Like every fight sequence ofBlade, Blade's character as a
whole is just incredible.
And I loved Blade in MarvelZombies. By far one of the
coolest additions.

(04:43):
Episode two, you know, we seeKaty and Shang-Chi.
I was super excited to see themback because again, that's
another, you know, Marvelproject that we haven't seen
anything from in a while, youknow?
Even if it was an animatedseries, you know, it was still
good to see them again.
And a kind of a reminder thatthere are all these moving
pieces that hopefully in the MCUcanon, they are gonna bring
back together.
I'm assuming so, especiallywith this whole multiversal

(05:05):
saga.
I mean, we we got Wen wu andAgent Woo, Baron Zemo and John
Walker.
Like, what is happening?
First of all, it was just likebanger after banger after banger
after banger, everybody.
There was a lot going on inepisode two.
We were introduced to a lotmore people, but I have to talk
about Yelena's sacrifice.
This is like a a trope, sort ofthroughout the whole little

(05:25):
miniseries.
You know, Riri sacrificesherself, and then you've got
Melina.
Melina tells Alexei, you know,go on, whatever.
And so then Alexei tellsYelena, we have to keep
fighting, you know, for her typeof thing.
And then episode two, Yelenasacrifices herself, tells Alexei
you've got to keep fighting.
And then we have episode threeends up Alexei turning into a

(05:46):
zombie, and Kamala does not wantto fight him and is very
distraught.
And she says to him, you know, like I'll keep fighting for you,
whatever, kind of thing.
So it's kind of like passeddown.
It's really sweet and touching.
Episode three, we see PeterParker and we see Scott, the
floating head with uh DoctorStranger's cloak.
Like that was a great littlelike moment again.
Like I was, I had totallyforgotten about that.
I love that they brought thatback.

(06:07):
And then T'Challa, y'all, I waslosing my mind.
And one thing with T'Challathat I deeply admire and respect
is T'Challa does not speak inthe animation that we see.
Peter Parker is telling astory, and Peter mentions that
T'Challa says this or T'Challasaid that, whatever, but he's
like paraphrasing what T'Challasaid.

(06:28):
And I love the fact that theydidn't hire somebody to be the
voice actor for T'Challa.
It sort of, to me, gave a nodin remembrance to Chadwick
Boseman.
The fact that they didn't makeT'Challa speak and have someone
else speak for this characterthat we all know as Chadwick
Boseman, to me, is another wayof honoring his legacy and
honoring him as a person and himas that character because he

(06:50):
really transformed thatcharacter and was the perfect
Black Panther.
I just I thought that wasreally, really well done that
they didn't just try to hiresomebody.
Because yes, I know there'svariants, you know, even the guy
voicing Peter Parker isn't TomHolland, you know, he's not MCU
Peter Parker, but most of theother characters are voiced by
their MCU actor.
I mean, Elizabeth Olsen is inthis, Florence Pugh's in this,

(07:12):
Paul Rudd voices his, you know, like all that, whatever.
But I'm just, I'm thankful thatthey didn't try to get somebody
because Chadwick Boseman didvoice T'Challa in What If season
one.
It's just really sweet thatthey didn't try to replace him.
We still sort of have thatsilence and reverence for him
and how he portrayed thatcharacter.
Also, I do have to say, like,Zombie Thanos is frightening,

(07:32):
terrifying.
The Thor Groot Rocket InfinityWar entrance, amazing.
It was a little bit of a plottwist, though, for sure.
I wrote in my notes, he isinevitable indeed about Thanos.
And then, of course, we've gotValkyrie, Wanda's tricks that
she plays on the As gardians andon Valkyrie.
That was that was really welldone.
I loved that little twist.
And then, of course, like Imentioned, Alexei turns into a

(07:53):
zombie.
It's very sad.
Thor helps them, incredible.
Love him.
Nova Corp?, I can't standNova Corp, okay?
Like, I, when they were like,Nova Corp's coming to help, I
was like, bro, I don't knowabout this.
And of course, they try todestroy them.
And then you have episode four.
We're already at episode four.
The portals, dude.
I wrote, yeah, saving theworld.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Love saving the world.
I have to bring up...

(08:15):
There's a scene of, you know, all of them getting together now
and they're like fighting thezombies and fighting Wanda's
whole crew, whatever, trying toprotect the Hulk that is holding
all of the Infinity Stone'spower.
I'm still a little unsure.
Was that like Hulk Hulk?
I know they said like BruceBanner was a good guy or
something.
They mentioned was and they'relike was.
I was still a little confusedby that.

(08:35):
I'm guessing it's just Hulk andlike Bruce is gone.
I don't know.
The scene where Blade is likeswiping the sword and the sword
goes across his face, and likein the blade of the sword, you
see Khonshu.
Dude, I freaked out.
That scene was so good.
Chills.
I got chills.
I was like, this is iconic.
It was so cool.

(08:56):
Zombie Thor, terrifying.
I'm just gonna read you theselast three notes that I have for
episode four.
All caps.
Yo, what?
Second note.
For real, save the world.
Third note, all caps.
Yo, it's like WandaVision, afake world, OMG, OMG, OMG.
The ending of this show is verywell done.
I love the cliffhanger.
I love that you just see Kamalawith her friends and she's like

(09:16):
reliving the whole zombieapocalypse, and they're like,
What are you talking about?
And the little flashes ofseeing the zombies for real and
seeing that what she's seeing isnot her actual reality, all
that stuff.
Of course, the jump scare ofZombie Wanda at the end is like,
oh my gosh, like it actuallydid scare me for a minute.
Going back and thinking aboutit, Zombie Wanda, when she's
pretending to be like healedWanda or is healed Wanda, I

(09:37):
don't know.
She keeps mentioning, like, we,I need your help to save us and
bring the world back to normalor what it used to be or
whatever.
It's literally like she's notactually trying to heal the
world, obviously.
We knew that's a lie, but I'mlike, she's using Kamala's
powers to be able to strengthenher own like reality shifting,
morphing, whatever you callthat, of pretending and like

(10:00):
having a mask over what'sactually happening.
It was pretty cool.
But seeing Riri, like, is Riristill alive for real?
Or is that like, I don't know,see?
It ended on a cliffhanger.
We don't know.
I love that though.
I love that they didn't give usan answer, and I love that it's
kind of creepy and unsettling.
I loved it.
Overall, I thought it wasincredibly animated and the
storytelling was so good.
And the emotion, really welldone.

(10:22):
I was honestly, I was on theedge of my seat the whole time,
and I love seeing thesecharacters interact that we
necessarily haven't seeninteract.
I really don't have any notes.
I thought it was fun, I thoughtit was creepy, unsettling, I
thought it was emotional, and itwas really action-packed.
You know, if I'm gonna rate it,I think I'll have to give it
probably like a three and a halfout of five.
It was good, it was solid.

(10:43):
I don't really have any notes,but I don't feel like ranking it
higher.
But go watch it.
It's really fun.
I mean, it doesn't take thatlong, it took about two hours, I
think, to watch the entirething.
I have an announcement.
I am going to be partaking insomething that is going to take
a lot of time, and I want you tojoin me.
As we all know, AvengersDoomsday comes out in December
2026.

(11:03):
We also have Spider-Man BrandNew Day.
I'm I'm not forgetting aboutthat.
I want to watch the entire MCUbefore Avengers Doomsday in
timeline order.
Now, the Marvel CinematicUniverse, because it has
embraced the multiversal saga, more than just what is like this
is MCU, is part of the MCU now.
Like the X-Men are part of theMCU.

(11:24):
So I compiled a full list ofthe order that I am going to do,
and I would love for you to tagalong with me.
Before I read the timelineorder that I'm going by, I'm
gonna let you guys know.
One, these will be separatefrom my seasons on What's the
Dill?
I'm still gonna be doing What'sthe Dill, still gonna be
reviewing movies and TV shows.
Like season four is gonnacontinue, but this MCU rewatch,

(11:45):
think of it like a branchedtimeline.
Season four of What's the Dilland all the other seasons are
the sacred timeline of What'sthe Dill, right?
We go by seasons and we takebreaks, whatever.
The MCU Rewatch timeline islike a branched timeline.
It's gonna be its own playlist, its own entity.
It will not be on a consistentbasis because there are both
movies and shows.

(12:06):
They take different amounts oftime to watch.
So it'll be like I watchsomething, I make an episode, I
post it.
Not every week or whatever.
I hope that makes sense.
As we get started, you'll seewhat I mean.
I would love for you to do thistogether with me.
I'm about to talk about thetimeline order, but I'm going to
be posting the timeline orderand all this information on my
website,www.mackenziepickle.com.

(12:27):
So definitely go check that outif you want to see the full
list and everything.
I'll have the link in thedescription on YouTube, and it
is also on the podcast networks, whatever you know, site you're
watching this off of or whateverit should be.
If not, it'swww.mackenziepickle.com.
I also made a binge clockmarathon.
I will also link that.

(12:48):
Here we go.
MCU timeline order.
It includes X-Men andSpider-Man.
It does not include the X-Men97 show.
I did not put that in.
This is already a very longlist.
Okay.
This is the order of how thingsare.
The first episode that I'mgoing to be putting out in this
MCU timeline order of talkingabout everything is going to be
covering Agents of Shield.
Now, Agents of Shield happenslater on in the timeline.

(13:12):
However, season seven of Agentsof Shield, they end up going
back in time to 1931, I believe.
So it is technically first inthe timeline order.
That is.
So as I'm reading this, youwill hear different Agents of
Shield episodes going through.
Just know that it is chaotic.
I know it's chaotic.
We will get through thistogether.

(13:33):
The order goes Agents of Shieldseason seven.
So they go back 1931 to 2019.

Then Captain America (13:39):
the First Avenger.

One shot (13:41):
Agent Carter.
Agent Carter season one.
Agent Carter season two.

Fantastic Four (13:45):
First Steps.
Now this is set in the 1960s,but it's like a futuristic
1960s.
Then we have X-Men First Class.
And just a note, we are gonnadiscuss the X-Men further once I
read the rest of this.
I- we're here, okay?
The X-Men timeline is alsocrazy.
X-Men First Class, then X-MenOrigins: Wolverine, which is
primarily set in the 1970s.

(14:05):
X-Men Days of Future Past.
This is where it gets dicey.
It's both in 1973 and 2023.
Then X-Men Apocalypse, DarkPhoenix, then Captain Marvel,
which is 1995, then X-Men, thenSpider-Man, the Sam Raimi
universe, then Spider-Man 2,then X2, then Spider-Man 3, then
X-Men The Last Stand, then weget to Iron Man, which is 2008.

(14:26):
Iron Man 2, The IncredibleHulk, One Shot: The Consultant,

Thor, The Amazing Spider-Man,which is Andrew Garfield's
Spider-Man.

Agents of Shield Season 2,Episodes 20 through 22.
Ant-Man, Daredevil Season 2,Luke Cage Season 1.
Agents of Shield Season 3,Episodes 1 through 10.
Deadpool.
Agents of Shield Season 3,Episodes 11 through 19.

Captain America (15:18):
Civil War.
Agents of Shield Season 3,Episodes 20 through 22.
Agents of Shield Season 4,Episodes 1 through 8.
Agents of Shield Slingshot.
Agents of Shield season 4,Episodes 9 through 22.
Iron Fist Season 1, TheDefenders Season 1.
Spider-Man Homecoming.
Then Your Friendly NeighborhoodSpider-Man, which is in an
alternate timeline, but they'vesaid that it takes place

(15:39):
probably right around the eventsof Captain America: Civil War.
The Punisher Season 1, BlackWidow, Doctor Strange.
Agents of Shield Season 5,Episodes 1 through 19.
Black Panther, Jessica Jonesseason 2, Inhumans Season 1,
Luke Cage Season 2, Iron FistSeason 2, Daredevil Season 3,
The Punisher Season 2, JessicaJones Season 3.
Runaways Season 1 and Season 2,Cloak and Dagger Season 1 and

(16:00):
Season 2, Thor Ragnarok.
Runaways Season 3.
Agents of Shield, Season 5,Episodes 20 through 22.
Ant Man and the Wasp, AvengersInfinity War.
Agents of Shield Season 6,Deadpool 2, Spider-Man into the
Spider-Verse, Avengers Endgame.
Agents of Shield Season 7Finale.
The New Mutants, Spider-ManAcross the Spider-Verse, Wand
avision.
Loki Season 1, Loki Season 2,which those technically take

(16:23):
place out of time, but you knowthey start from the events of-
You get it.
Okay, you get it.
This is the best I could do,okay?
This is definitely not perfect.
Okay, so after Loki season 2, wehave Shang-Chi : The Legend of
the Ten Rings, Deadpool andWolverine, The Falcon and the
Winter Soldier, Spider-Man Farfrom Home, Spider-Man No Way
Home, Eternals, Hawkeye, DoctorStrange in the Multiverse of
Madness, Moon Knight, BlackPanther Wakanda Forever, Echo,

(16:45):
She-Hulk, Miss Marvel, TheMarvels, Thor Love and Thunder,
Iron Heart, Werewolf by Night,Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday
Special, Ant Man and the WaspQuantumania, Guardians of the
Galaxy 3, Secret Invasion,Agatha All Along, Daredevil Born
Again Season 1, Captain AmericaBrave New World, Thunderbolts,
and Logan.
Then we have the other twoseries that are completely out
of time and they don't reallyexactly fit into like a certain

(17:09):
time slot.
Marvel's What If series andMarvel Zombies, which we just
covered Marvel Zombies here.
Yeah, that's the entiretimeline order that I'm gonna be
going off of.
Back to the X-Men timelinesituation.
They say that there's a certainway you should watch the X-Men
timeline.
I don't know that I'm gonna dothis, but I did want to put this
in there just so you guysunderstand.
I put it exactly based on whatyears they take place.

(17:30):
That's why it is the way it isin the full timeline order that
I just explained.
But we have the OG timeline orthe prime timeline, and then you
have the revised timeline, which is post days of future
past.
So this is how most people sayyou should watch it.
The prime timeline is X-MenFirst Class, X-Men Origins
Wolverine, X-Men, X-2, X-Men TheLast Stand, The Wolverine, and

(17:51):
X-Men Days of Future Past.
Then the revised timeline isX-Men First Class, X-Men Days of
Future Past, X-Men Apocalypse,Dark Phoenix, Deadpool, Deadpool
2, the New Mutants, Logan, andDeadpool and Wolverine.
Now, Deadpool and Wolverinetechnically takes place before
Logan, but the events of Loganhelp make Deadpool and Wolverine
make more sense.

(18:12):
If that makes sense.
Like I said, all thisinformation is going to be on my
website,www.mackenziepickle.com.
I really hope that you will dothis MCU rewatch with me.
I'm going to be making multipleepisodes.
Um, and I will tell you guysthe official runtime for this
whole thing.
If you were to watch everythingin that timeline that I just
told you, no breaks, no ads, nobathroom breaks, no anything, it

(18:36):
would take you 21 days, 11hours, and 38 minutes.
It's a lot.
But we can get it done, especially before Doomsday.
I believe in us, okay?
I believe in us.
The very first episode of therewatch that's gonna come out is
MCU 01.
We're gonna talk about all ofAgents of Shield.
I don't know if it'll be nextweek, maybe the week after.
Gotta finish the entire showfirst.
Keep a lookout for that.

(18:56):
We're gonna talk about it.
And then don't worry during thewhole timeline, rewatch,
whatever, I will sprinkle inreminders about what's happening
in Agents of Shield once we getto the years.
Don't you worry.
We will do this together.
I'm gonna be trying to piecetogether the timeline as we
review everything as well.
So wish me luck.
Wish us luck.
It's going to be chaotic and itmight be too big of a task to

(19:19):
conquer, but we're gonna do ittogether and we'll either go
crazy together or we'll succeedtogether, but at least we get to
watch some Marvel together.
Anyways, that's all I've got foryou today.
Pickle's Pick is HopelesslyDevoted to You.
I love Olivia Newton- John.
But this past week I've had thekaraoke version from Party Tyme
Karaoke stuck in my head.
The backing vocals are justheavenly.
