accloud of justin, a hearty hild Silver, A lone Ranger.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
A phantom figure of the planes, rode the trails and
long ago to bring justice to the oppressed. Where he
came from, no one ever knew, but his heroic deeds
were recorded in the memories of the people of Seven Sakes.
Even today, the cowboys sit around the campfire and relate
yarns of his bearings, of his speed on the draw
when he meted out punishment of the lawless, of his
great horse Silver, the fastest the West has ever known.
(01:03):
History does not record as many adventures, but the West
will always remember the shout which has come.

The lone Ranger urged the great horse Silver down the
trail toward Wells City, a typical ranchers community of the
pioneer days. Ben Bush was the wealthiest man in town.
He owned the bank, controlled vast sections of range land
in the territory, received dividends from most of the other
commercial enterprises. But for all his wealth and power, he
was thoroughly disliked. He ruled well City and the surrounding
(01:55):
district with an iron hand, and it was suspected approved
that he had built his position upon a disregard of
honesty and justice. It was certain that the sheriff of
the county, Pete Crowley, obeyed his commands without questions, and
the law man's reputation had suffered in consequence. In the
first scene of tonight's Lone Ranger drama, we see Ben
(02:17):
Bush speaking with Crowley in the cafe. They are seated
in one corner of the large room and are careful
that they're not overheard by the rest of the crowd.

You were accused of murder, yeah, but I I could
approve my innocence.
Speaker 11 (08:10):
How the night same Turner was killed, I was at.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
Home with Mary and little Jerry.
Speaker 13 (08:15):
That wouldn't clear your larson. Remember Ben Bush's against you.
That's scheme and con cat. Some day he's gonna get
all that's common to him.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
That's what I'm working for. You know about him, not
all that I want to know. You tell me about him.
Speaker 11 (08:27):
He's got so much money. He does whatever he turned pleases.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
I've been told that you had money in his bank,
didn't you.
Speaker 11 (08:33):
Oh my savings about three thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
That's just the point. Brisbane Slade had their money in
his bank. That's why they were framed for murder.
Speaker 11 (08:42):
See if you mean to say they want guilty of murders? No,
but the evidence why four men seen them.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Do the shooting. Those four men were paid to tell
the jury that story.
Speaker 5 (08:52):
Why Bush?
Speaker 4 (08:52):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (08:53):
What's his game?
Speaker 13 (08:54):
Larson Bush takes the money people put in his bank,
steals it.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
Yes, and before the.
Speaker 13 (08:59):
Money can be claimed, the arrangers for the owner to
get into trouble, and Sheriff Crowley works hand in glove
with him.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
See do you mean to.
Speaker 11 (09:07):
Tell me out of face what Frisbee and Slade did?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Yes?
Speaker 11 (09:10):
If that have been men on the stand and swear
they see me shoot.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
A man, that's just what would have happened.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
Why they?
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Or Old Bush? A schemer in a poll camp? What
do you know about him?
Speaker 11 (09:18):
I know he never gives a man a chance to
pay him a mortgage if he hadn't a little later on.
Speaker 13 (09:22):
Yes, he swindles in cheats wherever he can. He always
thought he's tuck to the letter.
Speaker 7 (09:27):
Of the law.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
No, he doesn't even do that.
Speaker 11 (09:30):
What am I to do now?
Speaker 3 (09:31):
I want you to help me.
Speaker 13 (09:32):
How I'm going to ask you the same question I
asked Slade and Frisbee. Yeh, will you stake your freedom
on a chance that you might hang rather than spend
the rest of your life as an outlaw.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
I don't savvy as you stand right now, you're safely
away from the jail.
Speaker 13 (09:45):
You can leave my camp and go where you want to,
but you'll always be hunted by the law for a
crime you didn't do that.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
If you will help me and risk being captured, there's a.
Speaker 13 (09:53):
Chance to put Ben Bush and Sheriff Crowley where they belong,
and then you can return.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
The town of free men.
Speaker 11 (09:58):
Life wouldn't mean much tom away from my wife and kid.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Then I can count on you.
Speaker 11 (10:03):
Yes, I suppose Frisbee slave decided difference being his name
around here, but I'll go in with you.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
They've made the same choice.
Speaker 11 (10:11):
Yeah, Gush, and the four of us are working.
Speaker 13 (10:13):
To get in or a fire of us counting my
friend Taddle.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Oh yeah, Larcen. From now on, don't ask questions, just
do what you're told and count on us.
Speaker 11 (10:22):
I never thought I trust a man that wore a mask, Stranger,
but there's something about your style that makes me like
him and trust you. I'm taking your orders from now on.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
The Lone Ranger had a definite purpose in mind when
he freed the three men Crowley had imprisoned. In the meantime,
the sheriff and his post scowered the country in search
of the masked man and his companions, but without success.
The hunt continued for several days. Bush became incensed over
the delay. At length, the banker approached Crowley in the
cafe and spoke heatedly.
Speaker 6 (11:05):
I could really make her clean up if I could
count on you at all, But I can't.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
The bullsher I'm doing all the men kind.
Speaker 6 (11:12):
Ain't found the one in the part and three four,
including the masked man as hey the others?
Speaker 5 (11:16):
Or ain't your bottle to haunt him?
Speaker 3 (11:17):

Speaker 7 (11:18):
Sure we are.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
A stranger fifted into town today and open the big
account the bank.

And yourn next one won't get away from me. I

The curtain falls on the first back of our Lone
Ranger drama. Before the next excitting themes, please permit us
to pause for just a few moments, and now on
(15:07):
with our story. You will recall that in the first
act of the Night's Lone Ranger Drama, the banker and
the sheriff of Wells said he framed three men for murder,
only to have them taken from jail by the masked man.
The accused men were large depositors and the bank owned
by Bush, who intended to steal their funds. A lone ranger, however,
had freed the convicted men as part of a plan
(15:28):
to bring Bush and Crowley to justice. Then a fourth
man into the story. His name was Mark Him and
he was discovered standing over in Indian. He was accused
of killing That same afternoon. Markheim had placed a large
sum of money in the bank. Bush saw another opportunity
to frame an important depositor.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
Pull on our shelf, kid, you listen to me for
just a minute or so.
Speaker 7 (15:49):
Oh talk, fair sir, where is it?
Speaker 12 (15:52):
You ain't even look to make sure the Redskins did
before you jail me for murder.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Will do the looking lad.
Speaker 11 (15:58):
We don't take chances with her, Thank you.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Then make Pat Banker give me back the paper he
took from me.
Speaker 11 (16:04):
Don't nothing, manut a scrap of paper. I throwed it away.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
It's a receipt for the cash I bag in your
place today. Bush.
Speaker 12 (16:10):
I suppose now you'll claim I ain't no money there
and keep it for yourself.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Take him in chance, yep, Oh, my cand what the redskin?
Speaker 11 (16:18):
I'll go back and see if he's dead for sure?
Speaker 3 (16:20):
No, you won't what the mass mean again, you'll all
stand like when.
Speaker 8 (16:23):
You are cally.
Speaker 6 (16:24):
If he gets this prisoner away from you, I'll hag
rid out in town.
Speaker 13 (16:27):
On the rail.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
I'm not after your prisoner.
Speaker 7 (16:29):
I'm here to take the Indian away with me.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
See here, you you're under.
Speaker 13 (16:33):
Arresting talk from a man who doesn't there reached for
his gun.
Speaker 6 (16:36):
Shoot him, Crowley, don't stand there like a sniveling card.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Non shoot up planet. I'm still holding one gun on you.
Speaker 7 (16:43):
Now's a chance. Final.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
He's planning to heist the redskin on his horse.
Speaker 14 (16:46):
He and you think you can come vincent.
Speaker 9 (16:49):
He's grease lighting with a gun, mister bull.
Speaker 7 (16:53):
Now's a chance shoot shoot him.
Speaker 9 (16:55):
I'll try give him Crowley tire again.
Speaker 7 (17:00):
He's still riding.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
Tain't no use.
Speaker 5 (17:04):
He's out of sight in the dark horse. He's riding
his grease lighting.
Speaker 7 (17:09):
What did he want the dead engine for her?
Speaker 5 (17:12):
Don't ask me where you see that?
Speaker 6 (17:14):
You don't let the prisoner get away, blasted old Crowley.
Speaker 16 (17:17):
Don't let him get away.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
The lone ranger made no attempt to rescue the sheriff's
latest prisoner. Instead, he and Tanto rode swiftly to their camp.
There they were met by the three fugitives who had
agreed to assist in carrying out his plans.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Here, how did it come out? What happened this? Then?
Speaker 5 (17:56):
What did you do?
Speaker 13 (17:56):
Everything worked out justin we hoped. They didn't even examine Toto.
He's been shot enough.
Speaker 5 (18:01):
When you beat that, it's just like Cash said. The
Sheriff's are cooking, so is Bush.
Speaker 13 (18:04):
Not only that they made sure to get the bank
deposits slip away from Markheim Bush down.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
That didn't he yes, and the sheriff permitted it.
Speaker 11 (18:11):
That means Markheim will be slated to hang and he
won't have a chance of getting away, not unless the
math man gets him away like he done us.
Speaker 13 (18:18):
We're going to let mark him go on trial, and
when that trial comes up, the sheriff and Ben Bush
will have a surprise.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
The lone ranger had proved the dishonesty of the sheriff
and the banker beyond all possibility of doubt.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
In the meantime, Markheim.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Was put on trial, A jury was hastily summoned, and
the evidence of a series of lying witnesses presented to
the court.
Speaker 11 (19:00):
Markheim drawn his gun and fired the redskin dropped dead.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
That's all I got to say. Jed, that man lies. Jude,
you're out of order. Markim be quiet. What might gun
wasn't even fired? The sheriff can tell you that. How
about that sheriff might have been fired? Might not have been?
Speaker 5 (19:19):
I dumped the cartridges out without looking.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
To see your railroad me to the hangman's rope. That's
what you're doing.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
