Over in the Write Conscious Q&A, I got a ton of questions about how to get better at interpreting literature.
Well, my favorite bang-for-your-buck method, which no one ever talks about, is becoming symbol-literate.
Once you do this, you will be able to tackle the hardest novels (or any art) and understand what is happening on the first read.

Below, I have listed over 500 symbols that you’ll need to learn to become symbol-literate. Above, in the video, I discuss the process of learning them.
Good luck, everyone. If you'd like me to continue this series or discuss symbol literacy further, please let me know, and I'll start grinding it out!
