(00:00):
When I was early on at Rise, I made the mistake that I think
a lot of first time entrepreneurs make, especially with sales organizations, is that
they think they can now become thedesk CEO. So you did something that
made you very successful, and yousaid, Okay, well it looks like
I can start my own company now, and you start acting like that job
(00:26):
is any different than the one youhad before. And so what I did
was I thought, you know, well I was selling, but now you
know, I'm mister CEO. Ican stay in the office and sit at
my desk and you know, recruitand make Instagram posts and make sure the
website's pretty and make sure the Instagram'slooking good, and do all these things
(00:47):
that aren't the things that got mewhere I am now, and aren't the
things that garnered me respect from potentialrecruits, from other you know, industry
members, from mentors, you know. So I stopped doing the things that
put me in the position that Ibelieved I was in, and really,
like, what it's about is facingthe harsh reality of yes, it's the
(01:12):
same work you were doing, butit needs to be done. It still
needs to be done, and ifanything, it needs to be done at
a higher level, and you justbasically, you know, you didn't go
in to start your own organization tohave less work to do, at least
not the beginning. Absolutely not.You started your own organization to start your
(01:33):
organization to build something bigger than yourself, and you have to realize, obviously
that's gonna take a lot more workthan when you were just doing your own
thing, right, when you wereworking for somebody else. So what I
so, what I started to findout is I needed to double down on
(01:53):
my strengths. And as soon asI did that, everything changed. Recruits
started flowing in and you know, there were just things to post about on
Instagram. So it wasn't just thesesexy videos. It was like, no,
this is what we're doing. I'mdoing this and I'm going I think
social media for an entrepreneurs should justbe listen, I'm doing this and here's
(02:15):
my you know, here's me showingyou my day and what I do.
And the people that want to joinon will join on, because the last
thing you want is to sell thisfake dream and you're gonna have a bunch
of people join expecting something and thenyou're offering something else, and then you
think those people are gonna stick. It was a very low low chance.
So when you stay true and youdouble down on the things that you are
(02:37):
that no one else can do likeyou, what you're gonna find is people
are gonna want to follow you.People are gonna want to follow you.
You're doing the thing that you're bestat. So in my case, that
was selling right, actually knocking thedoors, actually going and selling the product,
and training guys to do exactly whatI did. So when I doubled
down on those things, people justjoin, and the right people join because
(03:00):
of what I was doing is Iwas just posting my day like it didn't
take me any time. Now.I wasn't sitting down making sexy videos and
chopping them up and everything. Iwas just posting what I was doing.
It took me two seconds. Andpeople saw that and they said, you
know what, I want to followthis guy. I want to I want
to join on with this guy.He seems like he's got something figured out.
(03:20):
It seems genuine, and it canonly seem genuine, by the way,
if it is right, if you'reactually being genuine, people can tell
you know bullshit from one hundred milesaway. So stay true to you,
find out what you are incredible at. Ask yourself right now, what am
I incredible at? And maybe youdon't know yet. You know me,
and just four years ago, Ididn't know I was good at sales.
(03:43):
I had no idea. You askedme if I was what I was gonna
do for a living, sales wouldhave been the last thing I would have
said it was sales. May notknow. You may be in the position
where you do know, and ifyou do double down on what it is,
if you don't, go find outwhat it is. And either way,
when you find out the thing you'reincredible at, find a way to
(04:05):
double down on it. Post yoursuccess, and people will just want to
automatically follow you
