In this episode we explore the 7 different types of rest our bodies need and by understanding that there are different kinds of rest, we can understand that rest doesn't mean doing nothing. We explore how just having the intention and mindset of being in a rest mode can help us to be mindful about taking what we need to avoid feeling drained or reaching burnout. I'm sure we all know someone who says, “I'm not good at resting”, “I don't know how to let myself sit still” or, “I don't know how to do nothing”, etc. and we may argue with them and say, “but you need to rest!”. Well, what does that really mean? Rest can look different for different parts of us and without knowing those different parts we may have a hard time resting properly. This episode breaks down how to know what area of ourselves needs rest, and in turn be able to rejuvenate, reenergize, and restore.
Below is a free quiz created by Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith M.D. that helps us identify what kind of rest we are in need of.
I hope you enjoy this episode and feel more confident in being able to take the proper rest you need!
